its normal, ppl get mad if they were beaten in 1vs1
I also played loooong time with my s/d trickery quickness thief …. after I own someone they wisper me things like noob thief and started chasing me in zerg fights so 3vs1 … i never used any stealth skills and still can get away … its the funny point where you know what builds ppl play and how good you know your own class and what counter you have ^^

hammer1 – best autoattack on range with great dps
hammer2 – great range dps on 3rd pulse on 2 sec cd ….
hammer3 – evade frame with traveloption if you have orb ^^ and good dps
hammer4 – block wall on 12sec cd … nice
hammer 5 – knowdown EPIC great for offense and defense to kite
Hammer is my favorite, just standing outpoint and shoot them all because capping and then losing is more important ^^, also this will be my first crafted legendary
So, no hammer traits needed ..

no focus or attention from your enemies on ya skills

Yeah I wouldn’t hold those two’s feedback in high regard you are doing way better then they give you credit for. Aside from twitch firing a few Phase Smashes and Hammer 5s way off target the only real mistake you make is under valuing sword auto. With that said most of these fights are 1vX and not 1v1 in which case your touch and go fighting style is considerably more effective then trying to throw out autos which cause you to take way more damage then you would in a 1v1. You have excellent game sense. Using Chaotic Release and then snapping 180 degrees to land it and using Hammer 5 around corners to bait enemies into it are both great tactics. If you were really “button mashing” to the degree they claim you would be running out of energy long before legend swap cd and would not be able to survive as long as you do. I’d say you have a great handle on this class just don’t forget that Sword AA it’s quite strong.
well,IT IS the usage of skills in a correct situation ; the energy isnt the problem here
if you know what the ele is using for weapons and what passives are activating during combat you can easily counter him …

I main Thief since Gw2 start in Pvp, and I must say Im dissapointed!
I know the beginnning problem of to much dps after stealth till to much dodge after s/d buffing …. till acrobatic nerving.
I have played all classes in tpvp knowing PROS and CONS.
SO, I expected more of Daredevil, the dodges fix are OK, add leap finisher instead of explosion finisher to bounding dodge.
I dont know what to do with staff, instead played pulmonary IMpact s/p sh thief, but there are to much downsides in gameplay … my nervs are raw …. switched to Revenant and feel like a boss.

If Anet rly buff Rev more, he became god mode in pvp.

Roy your team ruins the revenant while you are on a vacation ! We became no a risk/high reward class you have got to change Unrelenting Assault or Surge of the Mists.
They are both currently way too powerful.

High damage
Evade
SotM needs some tweaking, stun breaking from it won’t help a lot of the times since it still knocks you back even after you stun break, dealing MASSIVE damage. I suggest you either lower its’ damage, increase cooldown or make it not evade. May I add it becomes unblockable with devastation traitline making it even more powerful. Just a minor tweaking would be sufficient otherwise there would be too much whining obviously.
As for Unrelenting Assault, it currently has a low CD. However that’s not the real problem, sure it cannot deal much damage in group fights but it wrecks in a 1v1 or 1v2. Decreasing its’ duration would help since your opponent has to waste both dodges (1v1 scenario) to actually evade it.
Also Retribution traitline. That stability on dodge duration is too long.

Its very confusing what you say, cause youre not go into details…. its the same like I said thief has too much dmg, engi has to much skills or guards have to much healing
I think its a l2p issue, the Revenant is new and no one has specific knowledge of gameplay against or with him in Pvp /Pve.

I trained with golems and uses the Trait Charged mists and watched, using different skills to create pulses to get below 50 and create a circle loop around the energy thresold.
the trait has NO ICD !
THE FACT:
It never gives me the 2 might stack as often as I reached the threshold and drop below … PLZ FIX

I already told in preview comment Inspiring Reinforcements needs a faster stabi gain, it takes to long to cast a road then standing 1 sec on it to gain stabi …. T_T

So lets finally resume:
- plz implent to steal and skill from Revenant, didnt get one …
- make dodges act like dodges, not like skills- that was the reason why getting confusion dmg by using dodges
- dodges need to be fluid with quickness, nomral walk, run
- utilities were fine ^^ and the elite is very nice, the heal is rly good using with adventure runes XD
Staffskills:
-1#: autoattack should be faster, the first 2strikes should feel like hard smashes
- hook strike feels great
-#2: no casttime plz, this should work like burning speed and a greater range, maybe with evade frame
-#3: same here; greater range of backflip, i want to get away with it ….
-4#: is ok, maybe the angle of the cone a bit larger
-5’#: reduce initative to 5 plz like you told in point of interest, increase range to 1200 and add evade frame
that should make staff to feel like a REAL Daredevil who works with evade
PLz buff DD, we also want to play with nice artistic fighters who dont rely on stealth

WEll, I oftenly use my builds with speed (25% speedbuff) and after testing the new dodges with DDspec ….I feel often stuck into position O_o
I have no probs with normal dodges …. you can run with speed and dodge and its FLUID.
All new dodgeanimations have a start animation ….when you run and dodge your character stand still for a moment and THEN hes using dodganimation and after dodging hes standing on position for a moment again ….
I think dodges need a qicker animation… anyone else agree?
I got also the problem that Withdraw and Roll for Initiative are affected in some kind by the traits, too.
I have sometimes wierd animations of thees 2 skills, never had this before
ANET, plz synrcho the dodges with the speedbuffs and quickness, they are untouched by these buffs.

ppl are not dumb, you must ask yourself: what if they dodge or else to avoid your hits?
Well, when i see a Venomshare thief im on full dodge mode as long as hes in his “burst-mode” and then I break him like a KitKat ^^
but maybe its more viable with DD elite spec …?

well, you know stealing from Engineers give us a “cool” > Throw Gunk skill which is mostly useless , I suggest we should get Throw Gear skill

Well, I play s/d trickery thief with quickness and fast initiative regain and 3 stunbreaker I have double burst time as all other thiefs. I also play d/d ele and know when my time is coming ^^ and its nice using the ice shard stab twice against them XD
I wil love fighting more when my dodge getting leap finisher and I can play my lovely s/p like at the beginning when evade on thief was untouched., prepeare yourself ele for the new upcoming burstdps. OMG fging STAFFHYPE and finaly using a second weaponset like every other class

Can you necroforum warriors please stop the martyr complex already? So many people here complain about the necro/reaper to be weak as hell but they hardly ever play. I have high MMR and regularly face off against ESL players when I queue, and i do mostly fine against them, so I don’t see why everyone is crying about necro/reaper being underpowered in pvp just because of new toys that every other class is getting, while forgetting that our new toys are just as good, if not better.
also tested reaper and with a bit knowledge of how thiefs dodge working you can outplay thiefs, andnot every thief willtake Escapist’s Absolution or all other condicleans traits just to punish nekros ….
Always remember, they dont have stabi, so hard cc

the greatest weakness is hard CC because thiefs have no stabi!
And if you ever have played thief class and know when you can burst after evade, there no problem of counterplay.
And conditions, not every thief will run condi clear in stealth or condiclear with trickery skills or condiclear with evade….
sometimes ppl think a thief can use all traitlines and traits at same time ….yep

The main issue with that skill:
It wont give me stability while casting and still standing on the first “bricks”.
I must still wait a second to get the first buff and that is a main issue if you have to react quickly. Hope that can be fixed easily.

remember the golden Pvp rule: If you lose to a ranger , you sk.

well, since I switched to ranger class with L/G power ranger, I get a very well balanced class with pewpew burst on ranger and also good variety on melee range…
depends on your knowledge of your enemy as well ^^
what need to be “buffed/fixed” is the pet commands and condi remove should be for pet as well, ranger can become very good in tpvp if devs fixed little things
but ppl have overall a l2p issue …. little tipp; switch to melee weapon if your opponent gets melee range ^^
