Skilled Thiefs are dangerous

First of, Im speaking as a Thief.
Make Revealed debuff as Long as the Player was stealthed before. ( also for Mesmer Prestige and Mass Invisibility)
There are many ppl out there which agree (ok, wvw thiefs will not agree) with this Change, because of the simple fact RISK AND REWARD.
Going into stealth every 3/4 seconds is like perma-evade before dec 10th.
Getting rewarded by traits for beeing stealthed, and >>> not “actively engaged” in the fight.
Every Player which stealthed by using shadow refuge/Prestige/Mass Invis/Huntershot or using smokefield+finisher/leapfinisher should get Revealed debuff as Long as he was stealthed before to Counter hiding passive gameplay.

I go with the “countdown buff” which removes a condition for every ~5 initiative spent….
But it would greatly decrease build diversity if Assassin Reward would scaling with healing power , because of the fact wvw thiefs would simple Combine Assassin Reward with Shadow Rejuvenation (and also with Patience and Shadow Embrace) to get higher regeneration effects as a warrior.
The “healing trait/lines” (AR , SR) maybe need a special effect, which telling, you can use XI/ SR ins shadow art traitline with stealth (for wvw stealth thiefs)
And XI/AR for non stealth tpvp thiefs (p/p, s/p, sh), you can only increase base heal of AR to 100 on 1 INit. when traits were separated; otherwise more ppl would flame the NEW OP healing power of perma stealthing thiefs .
lol after 1 month someone has finally copied a s/p build from pvpler an opened a thread, but berserk Amulett/lyssa is so old fashioned, with that much fury up time …. be a bit creative …..
theres a much stronger survival build available without spamming 40 Points into a steal
lol warriors want compensation …. a buff for nerv ….. take off the pink glasses, your healing signet will be nerfed near future and you will recieve NOTHING
other classes wont get buffs everytime they get nerfed , its time for you warris to be kicked from the thron
There was a nice solution for thiefs who dont want to Play with stealth in another thread, its very simple,
add a trait wich give buffs 5 sec on a evade( nice buffs like Regeneration/protection/ and other different one) but you also get reveal 5 sec ….. so p/p sh/s/p thiefs would get a nice buff as non stealth thiefs (risk and reward)
simply and short: NO
long: if you dont trait into a class mechanic , simply ALL other classes have more Options , more skills, compared to the thief
a skill with 35sec CD which can simply be dodge/blocked/blind is simply USELESS and of curse MORE USELESS if you spend 30 Points in one trait Profession and fail again
solution:
one steal, getting 3 different skills (F2-F4) from each class (and NOOOOOOOO stealing a necro wont give you 3 fear….. )
My thoughts are made by tpvp, and not such wvw or pve childrens Play …..
warriors are not OP … if anyone would play without stances/immunity
It’s in the middle. It’s not a complete faceroll class like thief …. just spams things off cooldown.
who is more facerolling ….. ingi with his kits, f1-f4, weaponskills1-5, permavigor, shrink, condi immunity, eliteturrets; CCs and kitchange/weaponchange again , again , again, see ya couldowns
the thief?! …. limited Initiative, 1-5 weaponskills, no rdyup skills at weaponchange, no knockdowns/knockbacks, much less conditions variety, 35 sec steal, no immunity to anything?!?!
so which class has to bring on more skill and tactic ….
you are playing against pve Players ^^
you would see a much different gameplaystyle when fighting against experienced Players …. but theres no real effort to Play wvwvw

Something like, giving nekros a 10% more condidmg while stealthed …… or warri dealing 10% more dmg while having a companion …….

I used shortbow on testing , but the dmg is still the same with/orwithout wielding a bundle .. which means stolen skill ; or?! And also the Chance to recharge 1 of 5 is so chaotic while mesma have a trait by recharging their shatter skills …..Confusing description anyway

edit: did someone mention that warri with there new buffed evade trait , vigor on stances, succesful F1 skill refresh , make 1.5k till 2k on every dodge roll instantly …. additional to their cc, condispam, high dmg

Before dec10th everyone thought this would be the most called sentences about thiefs….
but after the last tpvp game with a friend of mine who plays ele since beta with me as thief he were killed by a guard without doing any dmg on him O_O with this new Diamond Skin build…. I saw it …. so sad ….. he changed now on a necro ….
Simply, hardtocatch is a good idea but worse practise trait, and assasin reward will never get real buffed as Long as you can Combine it with the heal of shadow Rejuvenation ….. bad for all thiefs who dont Play with stealth …… they had to increase the baseheal of single initiative by 100 to get a real buff ….. dreams ……
The skill has been wonky since release, but recently I haven’t been able to get a decent pull out of Scorpion Wire to save my life. Four times out of five the projectile is “obstructed” by perfectly even terrain, and when it does manage to hit a target it merely acts as a knockdown instead of a pull, moving them by maybe an inch at most with no Stability or other abilities blocking it.
Can we get this skill re-examined in a future patch to make it more reliable?
The knockdown only appears if you were not in combat with your Opponent!
You have to do the first attack to push him to your Position.
But the Speed of the projectile is simply to slow.
I use Assasin Reward before and after the patch on a simple reason, the boon heal from pain Response can be stolen or canceled on different ways from your Opponent.
The Assasin Reward is not beeing canceled by any other class and its independent from your life bar.
Why in the world were thieves buffed, I know people are going to say they were nerfed but that’s horse poo. They teleport around now 2x more/faster and it just makes them almost impossible to kill. I’m not talking about the crappy hot join thieves, I’m talking about the higher ranked skilled thieves who know how to play. They are overpowered 100% I might actually go roll one now just for SPVP.

just for compensation, add charr Kids size to the game or Change the normal attack range of all tall characters, maybe double if asura has a 130 range on attack
The people that hate skyhammer refuse to adapt their build . Bring CC and stability , I know you give up on some stuff but knocking people off the cliff is fun . Skyhammer is my favourite map and I don’t want it to be removed it from the game . I always win on skyhammer , 75% W\L ratio on that map , it’s where my build shines , a full CC warrior

Thief: I am not sure how thief will develope so I will try to be a little bit careful here..imo the possibility to dodge a lot even after the patch will still allow very good players to be “beasts” and completely destroy other classes…the unbalanced thing here is that other classes don’t have that possibility which makes it unbalanced imo
Keep in mind all aspects of the Game, there are roles to Play for every class, thats reason why guards dont get a 25% passive Speed, warris dont get stealth(yet ^^) and thiefs dont get a invulnerability skills, the fact they can dodge more then all others is … you know already … avoid dmg …. especially for all thoose thief without stealth or playing with p/x , sh, s/p , you will learn love your dodges when playing some of theese weapons. BUT EVERY other class can have more dodges, too, maybe if there are willing to Play with energy sigils and Rune of adventure.
Anets devs give us advice to wait until the dec 10th, I think there will be more important things comming out, maybe things that havent spoken about yet…. suprises.

I have played thief since headstart (it’s my main character, all best gear on her, almost 3 legendary weapons: the dreamer, incinerator and almost quip) and now i’m thinking about stop playing in this gamy. I love all thiefs/assassins/rouges in mmo but in gw2 this character is going to “die”. I don’t know why ANet <3 warriors and theirs gswords but IMO thief is THE MOST hated, nerfed and becomes the mots boring and hard survivable class.

im pvpler since headstart playing with friends tpvp and spvp and ist kind of frusttrating beeing nerfed by every patch , getting a Little buff which will pluck into pieces
But i will try a last new control build after dec 10th, if ppl cry me and anet nerfed this , I will delete this game.

Because of increasing build diversity, ist now over 1 year we get no new accessoirs into pvp -.-
I say “No” because, I’ve been playing for a year now 99% pvp, and I don’t want to do these Achievments you suggested.
I think the old and active PVPers should be rewarded without spendind again 1k hours to do it.
Like i said i spend 1k5 hours in pvp now i want my rewards!My idea: to earn leagendaries:

True, I haven’t. But they’re pretty weak to conditions and can’t usually bunker a point plus they have a high skill-cap so most people who play them play them poorly. Combine that with a condition/bunker meta and you have a recipe for a net team loss.
I think you misunderstood. I love Mesmer, but I suck at Mesmer. -1 may be insufficient when I’m playing.
I know this is a joke…but at the same time i find this disturbing coming from a Dev.
:P Don’t worry, we’ve got several very good players in PvP, and I think everyone on the skills and balance team cheats (not really) because they are all really good.

WHY isnt there a vigor nerf on mesmer and guards?
You can still avoid follow ups with this. 360 milliseconds is faster than almost any attack and certainly faster than almost all dangerous ones. The only loss here is using this while stunned and using it to teleport finish an opponent.
Would you be able to tell us how it was being used to teleport finish? I’ve played S/D since betas and I never used it this way, so clearly I was missing something.
using infiltrator strike to create a port Point ,
if the enemy goes down mode now on some other Point but not enough neabry
and the small phenomen success you try to stomp and he gets for some Kind of else reason (he ported/mistform/warri stomped) near to your port Point you created, you can press shadowreturn of the sword skill and you will finish him off by only using sword 2
UPDATE
No longer swapping Flanking Strikes and Trickster because we felt it was taking away more build diversity than it was creating. We will revisit what to do with Trickster in the future.
Nooo, I was so happy to have Trickster at Adept ;_;. Why not changing it with Merciful Ambush or Instictual Response while buffing these traits? They are quite weak after all.
Yeah those are the kinds of ideas, but we don’t want to move flanking and don’t have time to buff something else right now. I will save these suggestions for when we do get to this.

It took me some time to pick up theese changes and realize whats happening, first I get shocked like everybody else who plays a thief, but now Im relaxed and I want to tell you my Impression of the last days, so lets get to the Points!
1. I go with your idea of kiting a thief away from 30 Points into critical strikes, cause you can also do alot dmg without First Strikes and Executioner.
2. I also go with the Vigor nerf, today I could run around with a timeframe of 4 sec where i having no vigor BUT evade every time one every weaponswap and after every healing> gain full endurance … every thief knows how to do that and I admit its a bit impudent compared to other classes …
3. …but we have nothing to counter burst dmg with an instant skill like block/endurepain/mistform/stonesignet/deathshourd/invulnerability/Elexier S/Blur or do you see the 2.sword teleport or shadowstep as only Option as a similar skill?
4. If the stunporter will be remove completely from the 2. sword skill , is there any Chance to get a compensation on itself?
Lesser Inititave/ 2 seconds immobilize/higher port range/higher backport range as before all the port range nerfs/ Cure 2 conditions/buffing with a boon? PLZzzz;

It is very hard enough for thoose thiefs who want to Play whithout stealth (especially in tpvp) and getting now a kittensläp.
by watching warriors on a Point who healing the autoattack of the shortbow away … but thats something else, excuse myself.
Splitting PistolWhipe would be perfect, 2 skills > 2 Options what to do > spend Initiative or not > THANKS ( buffing the stunduration and separate from the flurry would give us more diversity on s/p )
For my new build I will try something like

with some trick utilies, I love the scorpion wire, plz switching Trickster to Adept
is it possible to increase the Speed of the thrown rope ?! I know you already buffed the range and cd but in fact you cant pull enemies to you which you dont attacked first?

If it is the s/d evade you want to kill just remove the evade from the 3. skill and only place it with the boon steal and buff it.
Thief:
One of the issues we are working on for thieves this patch is the dependence on the traits which boost initiative. We did this by shaving a significant amount of initiative gain from these traits while simultaneously boosting the generic rate of initiative gain by 33%. We have also somewhat reduced the effectiveness of high evasion thieves by reducing vigor up time and adding some cast time to the Shadow Return skill on the sword. This prevents these thieves from evading too much and too easily dealing with being disabled (stun, daze, fear, knockdown, etc.). Also we are trying to improve the survivability of thieves in the Acrobatics line through easier access to the Hard to Catch trait and increased effectiveness of the Assassin’s Reward trait. This will reward thieves who are actively engaged in the fight rather than those who are just dodging over and over again. The change to Infusion of Shadow is meant to stop players from gaining initiative by applying stealth while already in stealth. This should keep thieves from being able to recharge all of their power while idling in a very long stealth. We felt that using a lot of different abilities to maintain stealth is ok, but re-using the same ability over and over for almost permanent stealth was just bad for the game, especially when gaining large amounts of initiative.1) All of these Thief changes are intended to create build diversity … accepted but …

Anet doesnt Support stealthless gameplay and the patch will shut down thoose who want PLAY STEALTHLESS with s/p or p/p cause the only Thing, realy THE ONLY ONE THING to avoid burst,dmg,cc is to DOGDE

If you only Play WVW then I can understand your Problems with the misstakenly permastealth; want some tipps: if you walk/run straight Forward you can kite some thiefs cause their build is effectly bound to Point fights.

I know your reading as much post here as you can ,
so I think you know that the “hard to catch” getting a bad Response on all thief Players.
But to made him more interesting in a place of a master Tier, maybe a Change of stability instead of the swiftness buff and a smaller couldown would be a good part of your promised Mobility buff, compared to the vigor nerf.
And since theres no blur/block/shrink/invulnerable the Thief has acces to Counter incomming burst dmg and we already have much swiftness in our acrobatic traitline.
Please, dont let stealthless thief gameplay depending on a randomly teleport of the named trait which isnt a stunbreaker itself.

nope …. it has to be cleanse one condition every 5 secs
why ….. warri can cleanse 3 while weaponsswitch every 5 secs
i dont want to spend all utilies Slots/rune slots for condition cleanse , and after the vigor nerf ….
