Tbh thief should murder any viper rev. Ez prey. Right as they swap to Mallyx, steal stab and unload burst. But cause everyone and their mom thinks thief is in bad spot (it inst) viper revs can run and counter other braindead condi classes and dont worry about being bursted 100-0

The reason Thief (actually Daredevil) counters Mallyx is the CC + spike. The steal is just to ramp up the burst and Mallyx has basically no way to get out of stun CC + Vault damage spike. It’s really effective if your the Mallyx is under any kind of secondary damage pressure. I want to point out that Daredevil/Staff is pretty effective in any focus spike because of how it plays and is nigh broken too good.

I dont think its a good idea. Im not really a fan of fields and finishers on the same weapon neither of condi on power weps.

There is absolutely room for Rev weapons to have both power and condition on them in different skills (many already do) because energy is a finite resource for Rev and as long as cooldowns are not excessive on skills, it remains balanced and there is room for both damage category types.

Why don’t you like fields exactly? That’s the premise behind enhancing the combat style/flow/skill level ceiling (positioning)/synergy with lots of builds and enhancing combat output with teammates. I actually play classes specifically to use combo fields (finishers and/or creation) and enhances the enjoyment of the combat significantly in game.

So what’s your suggestion to CoR?

granted your resistance is not stripped.

You just reapply it and/or strip it if it was boon steal. That’s not a Mallyx counter as Resistance boon is basically spammed and you have a counter if the opponent (another Mallyx Rev) spams it themselves.

This. It’s basically the anti-meta that makes it so strong.

If CC spam (i.e. old hammer Warrior) was viable, Mallyx revs would be in a very troubled spot. You kind of see it already with certain Engin/Mesmer and even Ranger Taunt spam fights that is when Mallyx struggles.

Precision Strike - HIGHLY recommend using this ONLY for catching up to players when Phase Traversal isn’t needed, not to mention you can crit for 2k-3k easily with it.

Use this in fields, quick activation whirl finisher with a 4s cooldown is the key here. It’s awesome for tagging as well. But try not to interrupt your sword autoattack final strike.

Unrelenting Assault - Not the best skill for source of DPS but it does really help provide more might for you, thanks to that skill+sigil of strength, I’m easily stacking for 20+(thanks to all this, you easily hitting 3,279 power, highest it can go is 3,429 power) NOT including bloodlust sigil

Use this early and use it often as possible. The only exception is if your enemy is up against objects or it’ll put you in a questionable position (right into the middle of a death zone) after.

Coalescene of Ruin - One of the BEST skills for DPS on hammer, not only does it provide good dmg, but a low CD as well, not to mention most never avoid it, so that’s a plus!(you’re better off using this and not the AA) on average it does 5k-17k.

The key with this skill is area denial and positioning. While it does have a 2s cooldown and energy is recovered by the time it is cast, it isn’t always the best option but should be weaved through the standard hammer attack rotation. While it lasts, work on positioning targets to be at the ~800 range for potential double hits (depends on your elevation relative to target).

Phase Smash - One of my favorite skills, when entering hibernation from shield, immediately swap to hammer and use this, nuking him for 1k-2k from sigil+XX if you hit him with this one(usually around 2k-3,5k)Only do this when he’s near you waiting for the hibernation to end.

It’s another use it early and use it often skill especially if you can hit a field. The only reason you shouldn’t use it is if you need to catch up or escape.

Enchanted Daggers - Best healing skill that can be used offensively, highly recommend using this when missing some HP, to do a bit more dps, or when you plan on using UA(sword 3#) If possible, always use this as an opener or force some dodge rolls before doing it to secure some more hits on them.

This ability is actually one of the cheapest damage to energy cost skills that Rev has. Before you swap out of Shiro, it should be activated even if you don’t need the heal.

Jade winds - Has to be one of the best CCs in this game in my opinion, always recommend using it when fighting 2+, swap legends(if you have no energy left) and burst out the squishy target immediately.

It’s actually high risk/high reward and can change the entire fight but make sure the other player doesn’t have stab up first. Immediately using on swap is how I beat opponent Revs because the Shiro stance swap is extremely high level graphic, I then evade because I know what’s coming.

Facet of Nature - I can’t stress this enough, I see so many revenants that rarely use this, ALWAYS use this before entering combat, its an insane facet that grants a very good amount of boons(mainly want it for the protection it provides its 6sec!)

Don’t use this when entering combat. Instead activate Facet of Nature during the animation time of your evades (i.e. Sword UA – hello, Might stacks gets a 50% boon duration increase or Hammer PS when aiming at a Fire field) and then as soon as that animation is over, then activate One with Nature. The key of F2 is Protection + Regen + a ton of more offense all subject to the 50% boon increase too. Basically, spam it if in combat; it’s enormous the difference this ability makes to the entire Rev class both offensively and defensively so if you are struggling, master this first.

Should hammer be reworked? (CoR)

Artaz.3819

Why you would want add condi to pure power weapon?

Fire field plus blast finishers on the same weapon means it helps a pure power build.

It also still would do fairly good direct damage from a pure power build since it is burn condition so it would still be healthy enough to do the full CoR damage now without the bug (DPS is equivalent but the burst is lowered).

Artaz.3819

Change CoR to a single long field like Temporal Rift. This would fix the double hits bug but would increase the timing of the skill activation further away so it can’t be side-stepped.

Change the direct damage to the middle value (369 base + 1.7 damage coefficient). Add a fire field, pulses three times for 1s burn and lasts for 2s. Leave the 2s cooldown and 5s energy cost. (Same cast time)

If you think this is crazy, remember that the number of targets goes from 15 under old CoR to 5 under proposed CoR.

This now allows the Rev to have a ranged condition weapon option which is sorely needed. But it also fixes the huge spike damage issue that the WvW players are complaining about.

@Roy, find a middle ground.

Bonus points, reuse the Wyvern fire graphic.

The green reclaimed is probably around 1% maybe 1.5%. I’ve never seen a blue reclaimed give a plate. The plate from rare is almost guaranteed (depends on salvage kit type) and is always 1. That’s why the rares are so expensive on the tp. I’ve only seen 2? reclaimed rares and my MP is 120+ for reference – I don’t need xp anymore just more MP but it’s such a pain :P

The truth is you are going to spend the majority of time in Staff. If you do swap you want pure defensive options that compliments the stat (why you are picking Shield for heal/block) so you want the next best thing, another evade for some damage (Sword 3). I also can’t imagine using Mace unless you are high on condi damage which doesn’t match well with Staff/your concept.

You’ll be swapping back to Staff ASAP anyway.

I would actually be looking at Hammer over X/Shield because of the life drain via block and spam 1 range option.

Coalescence of Ruin too much damage

Artaz.3819

Also, we still need to fix the double-hit-to-one-target bug. It happens clearly because of the 3 zones (at the 400, 800 mark) and the zones overlap slightly (especially with certain uneven terrain).

I also don’t believe the 1200 range was fixed. CoR still seems shorter than comparable 1200 range skills (maybe because the 1200 range is calculated from behind the character?).

TL;DR Fix the bugs with CoR first.

If Hammer is nerfed without a second ranged option …

If Mace 2 is nerfed …

I expect UA (Sword), CoR (Hammer) and Risposting Shadows (Assassin line) seeing it’s day in court. It’ll basically be an attack on Shiro power builds to the point that Jalis will start looking viable. Glint will be next on the list so hopefully Mallyx/Jalis will be adjusted (slight diversified function change/not buffed per se) by that time.

Another point at to why UA is 7 individual attacks chained together besides it breaking on stealth is the likely technical limitation of “sticking” to a moving target with a melee attack (recalculates attack distance and placement towards target on each attack chain piece).

The issue is the evade timing since you’ll be hit if you are traveling maximum distance between hops (no evade overlap) with latency.

Coalescence of Ruin too much damage

in Revenant

Posted by: Artaz.3819

Artaz.3819

Coalescence of Ruin is not really the issue. It’ll come from anything else as well (Phase Smash or Drop the Hammer) when you realize it is the following.

Cruel Repercussion + Swift Termination + Targeted Destruction + high Critical chance from Rolling Mists and don’t forget beauty of Herald line in a zerg with Elder’s Force and Shared Empowerment for 25 Might stack.

CoR is not the issue except that it is not (line) blockable since it affects ground but that also means it can be more easily evaded.

Remember, if the Revenant were alone, Rev will die easy to CC focus/Condition builds very quickly so there are counters. It’s basically just a ranged glass-cannon with a couple of options for outs that uses the same energy mechanic resource. High risk/high reward

Glint facet bug?

in Revenant

Posted by: Artaz.3819

Artaz.3819

That happens if somehow the legend stance buff is removed(it shouldn’t be) as it’s used to help control the upkeep skills. Is this any adventure or just specific ones? More information would be useful.

Roy, really simple to recreate bug.

1. On land, enter Glint stance.
2. Enter water – your legend will automatically switch to something else (or blank if you don’t have one chosen yet).
3. Leave water and you return to Glint stance.
-When you activate any Facet when you come out of water in Glint, they will immediately shut off by the next pulse of the Facet-

Workaround fix, switch your stance to your other option on land. And then switch back to Glint. It will be fixed and Facets will again remain on. The workaround issue is Legend swap still has a 10s cooldown even when out of combat.

Anyone going full damage resist on their rev?

Artaz.3819

I’ve tried. It’s a lot of damage sacrifice for the durability. In WvW, I don’t have as much of an issue with this because the in/out style works well for me (either solo or zerg v zerg). If you are having trouble surviving, you are probably swapping this utility food/runes for Berserker gear (or Condi gear). If you stayed in mostly Soldiers/Dires, you could use the offensive food/runes.

Where Revenant needs help is with condition spam (Hoelbrak/Melandru) and CC spam (Melandru/Food) lots of energy/dodge roll stab. Basically, it involves a lot of Jalis road spam to deal with the latter or camping Mallyx for Resistance boon for the former (lots of boon stripping these days). Glint remains necessary in order to not hit like a wet noodle or die to any immediate focus fire so … pick your poison.

Yeah you sacrifice some damage modifiers to run this. The problem isn’t with damage for any kind of front line. The problem is sustain. It’s why I dropped my warrior because outside of double endure pain they have nothing. Rev has some unique solutions for sustain that I wanted to highlight.

I run half soldiers/zerker with about 3000 armor in glint, 20k hp, 80% critical and passive additional ~25% DR. It might take 8 hits instead of 6 to drop them but the last three they were running trying to disengage. They drop their bomb and panic when you are still sitting at 80%

I don’t have any issues with condis nobody seems to run them in blob fights in T2. CC is tough I run enhanced bulwark and try and get in a group with a guard.

In no way do I believe that Rev is anywhere near zerg WvW survival as Warrior (it’s not just Endure Pain and trait, it’s a whole slew of traits, weapon abilities and runes synergy). And also Warrior pales in comparison to Guardian at front-line after the initial clash (thanks to the RF) and the way that Stab stacks are so much more crucial now.

Condis are not a problem for you probably because of the Guardians, Necros and Warriors (Trooper runes) nearby. It’s actually really really spam ridden condis/CC flying everywhere. It has nothing to do with T2 vs T1 (or elsewhere). I notice it immediately playing my Warr/Guard compared to Rev in WvW how “weak” to condi I really am in that initial clash (even in much smaller/havoc skirmishes).

If they (solo) drop their bomb on you and you’re still at 80%, they are playing defensive stat set up as well and probably you evaded part of it too which means you were not CC’d. It has very little to do with your specific gear choices. I curse every time I see a thief cause I know a 7s slow is coming my way.

Using EtD increases Condition Damage by (on me 192) That’s pretty significant.

192 * .045 (at level 80) = 8.64 damage per tick of torment. If you have 20 stacks (not unreasonable), that’s ~173 extra damage per second (double if moving). I’m not certain of your build but it’s probably meh compared to the energy cost or an extra Mace 2 burn field which does substantially more dps and the mob doesn’t have to move around to get full damage output from the ability.

What about the increase to your burn damage as well… when your energy drains swap back to Glint for awhile.

There is also poison but hardly worth even mentioning. Burn is from diabolic inferno and mace 2/runes. If you have the energy, you should be using Mace 2 or waiting for the next UA.

A stack of burn increases by ~30 damage per second for 192 condition stat (read, still no where near important enough to care about even with the latter Torment). Again, I don’t know your specific build but rarely would I ever have a Revenant build for a general condition duration or +burning condition (even with a spam mace 2 style) so it’s probably even less useful to consider.

Now, if EtD was Vulnerability condition (1s) and applied a ton of it very quickly (10 stacks per second in AoE) as well as gave 10% bonus stats, it’d be worth something for damage/energy cost/second.

Torment onn crit can be seen as 10% dmg increase

On a power build? Not a chance.

and with poison although its on 20s cd it makes even more not only for dmg increase but heal debuff.

Poison is weak. Really weak. You’re right for the heal debuff but that is situational even in WvW/PvP as most builds have several condi cleanse counters. It’s at best a cover condition. The 33% reduction in healing is in effect, minor, in the grander scheme of things unless the Poison condition is spammable.

Hindsight is 20/20 but Torment damage (stay damage component versus mobility damage component) should have been added to the Poison condition (makes sense thematically too) once Burn condition formula was changed or make Poison the condition damage enhancer (aka Vulnerability). However, both would be huge in game balance change at this point and are likely off the table.

Use Spear 1 to pull the mob until it’s in melee range (this will also start your energy build since you are now in combat). Once mob is in melee range, spam 2. Both cost -0- energy.

“Advanced play” – not really needed honestly
If using Shiro, Phase Traversal (or Spear 4 and use second ability) and spam 2. I don’t bother with Impossible Odds as the Shiro mobility is crazy good underwater.

If condition/Mallyx, open with Spear 3 (second ability) for the soft CC/Chill so mob approaches slower while you build up Torment from skill 1. Throw in skill 5 as necessary. When mob gets close (veteran/elite/champ), use Unyielding Anguish which pushes the mob back a bit (bug?) but then creates a dark combo field (good with projectile finisher of skill 1) plus more guaranteed condition damage.

That’s it. Rev spear is so nigh-OP right now compared to other classes.

Spear is basically a complete package less an evade or block type ability which is basically it’s only weakness.

Also, this gets all the awesome animations for some crazy ghost shark spam.

Things get a lot better once you get Herald and get access to F2.

Also, Shiro + Hammer + autoattack + kite is so broken for 99% of “challenging” PvE content. Hammer autoattack is sometimes wonky in pathing and slow but so does the job.

The root cause of Mallyx/trait line is the whole mechanic was changed a few weeks before HoT launched. The replacement was a “patch” at best and Elite completely gutted at worst. Roy had some good ideas but nothing has been seen in live.

i.e. Whatever happened to the base (non-moving) Torment condition getting a trait, (cough)Elite(cough) or baseline Revenant functionality that increases the non-moving damage of Torment condition?

With the exception of the two stars (Demonic Defiance which only shines because of FoN) and Unyielding Anguish (because it can be stacked in one spot, applies considerable AoE damage over time, and is a dark field to boot, why isn’t this a “leap” combo?). If either of these two were changed, the whole line/Demon stance would be in dire jeopardy.

Besides the decent traits of Yearning Empowerment and Diabolic Inferno (only good in a condition focused spec), the rest of the entire trait lines are very weak options (the master traits are all very weak/situational). There is no reason anyone focused on a pure Power or Tank-like build would take the Corruption line.

FYI – you want to fix Pulsating Pestilence? Make it a condition transfer. For every condition type transferred, give a 3% damage boost so it doesn’t kill Bolstered Anguish. Or better yet, kill Bolstered Anguish altogether and add it to Pulsating Pestilence (rename to Bolstered Pestilence ). Boom, Pain Absorption synergy.

I’m making the assumption that the unique condition-copy mechanic ship has already sailed.

Participation % required, cumulative tracking to weekly events participated in and goes from 0-200% just like PvE events. Exclude EotM from participation. Win win.

This is not a farm. This is not EotM. This is actual players being involved in either taking/defending WvW objectives. Sure, you’ll have some farmers but you’ll actually have a slew of real participating players that are not inhibited by farming PvE equivalents just to fund time spent in WvW.

You want rank to mean something, make it so the % Participation automatically goes up after you make 100% in the week by 1% every 100 ranks over 1000. But that doesn’t stop with adding rank value after that.

The key is tuning the 100%-150% participation to ~8 hours or so of WvW time per week.

I usually don’t like people who complain about “play how you want to play”… but seriously though, what happened to “play how you want to play”?

Ultimately I’m unaffected as I’m mostly a TP flipper for cash and only did SW chest runs intermittently.

And this is where you are oh so wrong. Gold is being sucked out of the game at an alarming rate via sinks. You “make money” doing your TP flipping because other people have gold to buy your items with. The gold is leaving the game, people have less and less gold to spend. You are absolutely impacted.

This is exactly what ANet wants. If Gold has more value, people are willing to spend gems (real money) for gold conversion. Buying and converting today means that your value of your real life money is worth just as much (or more) than when you spent it to get the gold.

TP flipping is a reduction of gold in the economy and extremely beneficial at the macro economic level. However, TP flipping is not without a lot of risk because there is virtually no inhibitor for the next guy/gal to undercut you by 1c and you lose the sale.

I’m not giving an opinion or what that means. It’s just reality.

Artaz.3819

Hoelbrak and strength are both nice, but if you want a cheap option you could also go with Rage, which also nets you another damage bonus when under fury.

I think you guys are focusing a bit too much on the boon duration portion of the rune sets… People aren’t saying to run strength for the might duration, that’s a bonus. The primary reason is a flat damage increase while under the effects of might, and the increase to power. Hoelbrak is for the power and reduced condi duration, and people only recommend that as an ALTERNATIVE to strength. Same reason I am running Rage, its not for the fury duration, its for the bonus ferocity and damage bonus (and cause strength runes are super expensive.).

If you are going for “boon duration” there are better choices than the ones you all listed tbh, ESPECIALLY if you are doing it for swiftness up time. Both Runes of the Pack and Centaur would provide you good swiftness increases, while still giving you offensive stats.

That said. OP never said what game mode. Unless its for WvW or solely for open world content then tanking your dps for movement speed by using any of the sets in the OP just doesn’t make sense. At the very least runes of the Pack would be a better choice, and even those are sub par to say Strength, Scholar, Ogre, and Rage. Reason being is that the four I just listed give offensive stats, AND a damage bonus.

My 2 cents.

Better alternative with a certain (solo) build/gear/consumables setup too is Wurm

Revenant does not need a bonus duration to fury when you run herald.

When people are thinking generic Boon duration, they are thinking more support (offensive and/or defensive) and usually team-based. Strength and Hoelbrak is used because Might spread via FoS is not just for solo.

For PvE, if you go a hybrid (Mallyx + anything else and don’t full go Mace/condition or go Herald/Power weapons), it’s extremely strong (especially with Embrace the Darkness).

Help me choose rune for revenant

Traveller … isn’t worth anymore … no need 25% speed when u have perma swiftness

Not true at all. Think of the 25% run speed increase as a perma-1 energy per second reduction (20% energy savings) on Traveler Runes depending on how much you micro-manage your energy. Even if you micro-manage, it’s probably around a ~10% energy savings. That’s actually pretty significant boost that offsets any offensive/defensive losses through picking another Rune.

Now in specific group settings where you are giving Swiftness because your groupmates don’t build for it (classes without 100% swiftness or taking their own 25% perma), it loses some value since you are probably running it anyways.

I don’t know, I’d rather be giving perma-regeneration boon (One with Nature fills the gap when you actually need to heal) over perma-swiftness anyday and using Traveler Rune does that. It’s more about the sacrifice of stats (but none of the + boon duration Runes are overly impressive there).

Superior Rune of Leadership 30% boon duration.

Eventually, this will be my choice with a Herald focused build. Not only does it push certain boon duration thresholds (without super expensive consumables), the 6th bonus, Elite portion condition conversion is huge for Heralds.

not bad but adrenaline decay is still too fast. Let us 5 sec please before decay when out of combat, or at least a slower decay.

Always Angry nerfed …

Warriors, here’s your build and utilities you need, enjoy taking these.

ps I’m really enjoying my Revenant. Feels a lot like old school Warrior (pretty mobile, pretty durable, lacks hard-core on condition removal, with one/two ability exceptions, lacks on ranged damage weapon).

No Skill Choice, not even Racial skills!

Let’s take a step back. It’s not that the Rev has only access to pre-built 4 utilities. It’s actually 8 pre-built utility slots. That flexibility typically means that the Rev (even though it has predetermined utility slots) allows for a lot of meta change even if certain utilities go underused (see current state Ventari).

We have 2 paths to address concerns of developers not being on top of meta as well as the players,
(1) All utilities become usable in all legends (albleit huge balance issues and much adjustment)
(2) Developers continue to monitor meta and adjust utilities accordingly. Players keep stating the obvious on the boards/in game and adjustments are made for the game’s evolution.

I opt for #2.

On to the Racial utilities, it doesn’t make sense (even lore wise) that Revenants don’t get those abilities. The Racial utilities are already balanced as weaker versions against standard counterparts and can only be used in PvE/WvW. If Energy costs were added as well, I can’t even imagine taking any of those Racial utilities unless the underlying core Rev utilities are horrible which is how you gauge base level use.

What the Racials do help with is for new players/new Heralds to fill in the gaps. There is nothing wrong with that.

il hope there is a revenant shield...

Link still wins. Hands down. It’s especially appropriate for Revenant with the lore behind it (not to mention the looks). We’ll see how the new legendary shield from mastery path looks though.

Superior Rune of the Revenant, Where?

Wish the + Toughness on the Herald Rune was + Power or – Condition Duration, it’s a mediocre Rune as is since you don’t want Protection Boon (or Toughness) when you use Infuse Light.

(2): +10 all stats
(3): +12 all stats
(4): +14 all stats
(5): +16 all stats
(6): Gain 2 seconds of resistance when you use a heal skill. (Cooldown: 10 seconds)

General consensus on Revenant versatility?

The key is Herald.

Without it, the Revenant feels clunky in many respects. I’m not talking about Dragon stance even but the Herald line and what it brings. And without the F2 from Herald (both boon duration and use), the class has so many holes besides the “pigeon-holed choose very specific traits/weapons/runes/sigils to deal with conditions” issue.

Ultimately, big picture, we have an identity crisis for Revenant. Is Revenant supposed to be constricted by energy or is it supposed to be constricted by cooldowns.

If it is constricted by cooldowns, that implies that the energy regeneration rate is too high. If it constricted by energy, that implies the abilities should be powerful but tradeoffs need to happen. That’s why we have to schools of thought on this all. And this same discussion will happen for every single energy/cooldown change going forward.

Note, this isn’t black/white as each legendary stance can operate significantly differently on either end of the spectrum.

What we need is a Rob, why did you do this answer for Phase Traversal? But more importantly, what are we solving for and it is unclear how to give feedback on the mechanic balance.

Correct, either use all your in use Facets before swapping or run yourself out of energy before swapping. ANet never implemented Facet turn off micromanagement without using “by design”.

Revert 28/10 patch, and balance properly.

Jalis should have more than 1 heal ability (and useful taunt. Now it doesn’t work sometimes!). Herald has 3 with shield (and he can’t get any dmg with 2 of them).
Ok, ventari will be only outgoing healer, who can’t heal himself, but only herald now can heal himself without changing the stance (and all dwarf passives healing doesn’t stack with healing power! It’s most ridiculous!)…

Um, it does. The wiki isn’t updated but you get ~60 healing for every hammer strike on a target from Vengeful hammers. The problem is ~60 healing per hammer hit to target is garbage when mobs hit for considerably more than that. It’s not healing though, vigor boon that should be the premier Jalis boon (Glint already covers protection boon).

Also, Versed in Stone 50% condition damage reduction should also include a 50% condition duration reduction on use for Jalis tanking.

I hate all the grunting and growling.

Water combat was clearly an afterthought. Rev only has one weapon and the weapon has some majorly broken (powerful) abilities. No one talks about it because it is such a small portion of the game :/

The irony of this thread is that people are suggesting much heavier nerfs over the one we actually got.

Increasing the energy cost of this skill would nerf its usefulness in every single situation. In every single situation. In contrast, the addition of a short CD is only a nerf to some very specific situations, in particularly, to those where you would want to use this skill 2 or 3 times repeatedly, like thief chasing.

This nerf is softer than your tears.

Explain “In every single situation” on energy because I can tell you the same that this isn’t true. Revenant start with 50 energy and gets 50 energy on every legend swap. It’s about tradeoffs. If it was increased to 25, it still means back to back usage at a minimum. If it 20 energy and has a 5 second cooldown, guess what? It’s a nerf (not only to playstyle but also to counterplay for the unblockable component).

ANet might've overreacted?

Honestly, the biggest issue besides the awesome that is Raptor Packs is Mordrem Snipers and other Stealthers/repositioner mobs.

Mordrem Sniper issue isn’t bad at the minion level but when you encounter a scaled up Champion version, it starts to almost one-shot people. In a massive battle, this happens frequently because you can’t keep your eyes on all things (there is no tell from the guy next to you that is being targeted and you are between the stealthed Mordrem and the intended target thanks to piercing). If they had AoE ground effects instead, it wouldn’t be much of an issue (see Mordrem Guard Punisher).

There are plenty of other stealth mobs that reposition but there are few ways to counter it in most player builds besides a well timed dodge after counting that mob went into stealth.

That all being said, leave it as is and see if players adapt.
