Lupi solos on 9/9 professions
Wost Engi NA
However, each dungeon path in this game, probably except SE path 2, is doable within 15 minutes.
How on earth would arah p4 be doable in 15 minutes, or is there a way to exploit and skip most of it?
Keep an extra dagger w/ bloodlust sigil for stacking. A thanks goes to oZii for leaving the advice I needed to adapt this build to the changes.
If you take out the bloodlust sigil weapon you lose the stacks. That’s bAd for ele because you only have 2 weapons and those are very important. For example a thief can stack his bloodlust on his Shortbow and then use d/d or d/p meaning they actually have 1 slot for bloodlust and 3’for others. Eles have 2 sigil slots and 1 can be taken out by bloodlust. This nerf to bloodlust hurt ele the most.
Would be true but you can just keep bloodlust sigil on underwater weapon and keep your stacks.
I know it has been discussed to death, but this needs to be changed as in the current state the only reason to kick an instance owner is to cause grief yet it can still be done. Kicking the party leader provides no benefit to anyone, all it does is destroy the instance, even if the owner is so bad that they deserve to be kicked, leaving the party will give you the same result without screwing the rest of the group. This should have been a large priority in the feature patch, very sad it was not. /end rant
They are absolutely everywhere in Tpvp and they are such an annoying spec to play against. What did they gain from the patch to make them so popular now? Also if they turn out to be the new hambow I would honestly prefer hambow.
I have been working on getting a fractal dagger skin for several months now running lvl 49-50 fractals almost daily, it would be really ironic and in my opinion plain silly if I finally get the skin from pvp.
It has always been very easy to get dragon, if you can win 1 game you can win a billion games given enough time, and time is all that is required for dragon.
Isnt d/f the only ele weapon that has solo’d lupicus? That should tell you most of the reason why its the best for harder pve encounters.
World record for fastest lupy solo was scepter focus though that was only used for might stack then fiery greatsword against the wall for almost all the damage. I also know that staff has done it, but dagger focus is by far the most popular weapon set for that fight.
Kind of amusing how ranger beat warrior and thief, guess that comes down to the reflect on the axe.
Still prefer the other spot but that is from an ele perspective since I can easily use fgs shenanigans there
.
Figure I will piggy back off this topic, but I decided to be a masochist and go for a p2 solo. Got it but Wollam the final boss bugged making him afk auto attack kill. In short though, the path is miserable.
Choking champ solo’s sucks, I think the most painful one for me was at 5% of risen covington’s health due to a lag spike. I spent so much time on him, and consider him tougher than lupy so that was rough, but I got him later
you can definitely get this one if you try again.
Yes, the focus is incredibly lackluster. It does have some great spells, but I found a huge problem that I don’t think has been addressed (I wasn’t able to read the entire thread though). Magnetic wave, earth focus 4, does not work on projectile AoEs, like Lupi’s green blob AoEs, Malrona’s poison AoEs, Wahlen’s grenades, the list goes on. Other reflection skills work on them, why does magnetic wave behave differently? I desperately want this to be fixed because it would make the spell perfect!
Reflects only work on those attacks if the projectile of the attack hits the reflect directly. Reflects such as feedback and wall of reflection manage to often reflect the attacks because they cover such a large area that the projectiles actually hit them. However, with small reflects like magnetic wave/aura, the projectile normally hits right next to you, then the aoe it causes does the damage.
HOTW2: ???
HOTW2 I suspect to be one of the easier dungeon paths to solo, I am planning on doing it on ele when I get a chance which should be soon and similar to warrior difficulty.
I really like Aetherpath except for the major problem that once I get past slick and sparky, my computer plummets to like 5 fps, starts overheating, and becomes nearly unplayable. Seems like only a few people really have this problem but it is really the one reason I will likely never run it again now that I got the mini from the achievements.
Once I ran into a thief while roaming, we got into a fight which I was going to win pretty easily so she just stealthed and tried to run away. Problem was she was using the mini pet Chauncy von Snuffles which didn’t get stealthed so I could just follow her wherever she went. I was felt kind of bad for her, so rather than killing her I just partied her to let her know her error.
I’m sure you probably make any class work with smart use of consumables like harpy feathers, whisper spy kit, portals etc. Try it out with your ranger!
I did it with ele using the watchwork portal for the orb, and harpy feathers for the wraith event. If you don’t want to use these though, the only classes that stand a chance for path 3 are thief, mesmer, and warrior (maybe other classes are possible but not sure).
Best part is when she opts to randomly use the orb of death in melee range, and just insta kill you.
This is why I hate warriors, I can beat them but when I loose it isn’t because they out played me it is because I make one or 2 mistakes. On the other hand they can often just eat a churning earth to the face and barely dent their health. It is like fighting a PVE champ, tons of health, fairly avoidable attacks, but if you get hit you die fast. I just can’t figure out why people would want to play a class like that.
Fractal backpieces are probably the best ways to get them. It helps if you enjoy fractals as it still takes a decent amount of relics.
Honestly this could be a somewhat decent trait, since one of the big reasons why eles don’t like going full glass is to avoid being insta gibbed by a stealth user. They will still die to a breeze and fire will still be lacking in survivability, but at least have a way to counter the back stab other than pray you hit with aoe.
Twilight Arbor up was the first one I did (ele) and it was generally really easy so you should probably try that. Hardest part was honestly the single silver mob (and his champ bodyguard but he was just an hp sponge) right before the nightmare tree.
Fyonna wasn’t a pain in the kitten for you at all? She was by far the most difficult part of TA up imo.
I have been able to solo the whole path on my thief, except for Fyonna…
When I was going for my first FULL solo up, I had to stop there after 10x dying when she transformed
I did have a bit of trouble with Fyonna, however once she started transforming it became easy mode so I am not sure why you would have trouble in that part. Ele focus is really nice though for Fyonna since all her attacks are projectiles though.
I’d put them on a balacing scale, and on the other side I’d put something equally heavy.
Balancing 101
Aye, you just failed balancing 101. When you use a balance scale you can’t just use 2 bodies of equal mass, the moments around the fulcrum are what needs to be equalized.

makes sense
Fractals are supposed to keep getting harder and harder until no one can do them. I do hope that this does become the case at which point of course the devs shouldn’t be able to do them either. However, right now the dredge fractal is much much much harder than all other fractals on the same level which is where the problem is. It is conceivable that this level will become basically impossible without thieves once upper levels are released while other fractals will still be fairly easy.
If only lh and staff builds weren’t so monotonous to play.
Which is why I say screw the meta and run an attunement dancing d/d build in more laid back parties and have more fun, but take your pick.
There is your single devastating attack. Too bad it is highly situational and half the player population thinks it is an exploit that should be fixed immediately
Since this has seemed to turn into a fgs balance thread here are my 2 cents on the skill. Fgs gets complained about for 2 reasons, 1 fiery rush against wall or with a teleport, and 2 running away in wvw. However aside from those 2 situations, it is a really bad elite skill on a long cool down so it would need some sort of buff to make it still worth using, ever. The auto attack is pretty weak, the burn is strong but no way of reliably adding cover conditions so easily cleansed, 3 and 4 skills only really good for running away, and the 5 aoe skill is decent as well, but does not justify the cool down. So if the mobility and fiery rush are nerfed, this would be a fine change only if compensated for in other ways so that it has less of a purely niche roll.
Nerf Please, add a 30 minute cool down.
Korga was actually the first dungeon boss I ever soloed after finishing a run, admittedly I just kited him with staff ele so it was easy and only tedious. His mechanics are pretty cool and I wish there was more incentive to actually kill him.
I just have to say that people in this forum like to make it seem that in running lvl 40+ fractals every single attack is a 1 hit down. However even for a zerk elementalist, true one hit kills are fairly rare and a lot of these can be increased to 2 hit kills with some defensive gear. While going full tank is still not a good idea in my opinion, having enough vitality/toughness to survive say one of the Archdiviners leaps is not a terrible idea since if you mess up once against it then you aren’t immediately downed and can heal up without forcing your team to risk ressing you.
However for making ascended armor, you should probably go zerk for when higher level fractals are released as then actual 1 shot hits will become much more common unless they manage to increase the difficulty in a different way using instabilities.
New ele or new player? Big difference, the builds Anierna gave are complete glass (some more so than others though), and generally lacking in recovery, so only someone with lots of experience in the game should try using them.
I remember Doc Howler killed me repeatedly back in the day. Don’t worry, you will figure it out (or already have by now). One piece of advice, she uses several projectile attacks, you have a reflection on staff, or a reflection and projectile destruction on focus.
A mesmer can portal people for path 1 past the rough skip, though in all fairness that requires a mesmer. And the mesmer needs to make the skip them self.
In my opinion, the more jumping puzzles, the better (except for dungeon exploiting). Really all of the cities have great potential for adding some jumping puzzles to them and I would like to see it happen.
The way I see it, one of the problems is that you can spec for both support and dps at the same time. Any build can provide might to a party just by blasting fire fields and that might gained provides the exact same bonus regardless of build (some variation in duration, and regeneration scales with healing power but that is it). A way to help with this might be combining healing power (which already scales extremely poorly) with boon effectiveness. This way if someone with no boon effectiveness gives might, it will only add +20 power to the party, while someone heavily specced in boon effectiveness will give +40 power for each stack of might. That way. A lower personal dps oriented build could actually increase party dps more than a pure personal dps build.
I would suggest you keep an eye on lupi’s left leg(on the right for you) he croutches a little before landing the actual kick. Learn to recognise it and if you have the reaction time it shouldn’t be too hard
The crouch is the tell I look for which is nice because it works for double kicks as well. Never seen a triple kick yet though 0_0.
The Elementalist downed state (where they spend a good amount of time playing from) is extremely OP. Their #2 ability is a huge hindrance to melee trying to kill them quickly, so that they may move on to the next Ele.
They can also jump off ledges with #2 and kill themselves instantly, denying me of a proper stomp. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever properly stomped a downed Ele. They either get destroyed by damage…or suicide.
That is just ridiculously unfair and OP.
Sad part is there was a serious thread on this issue a few weeks ago.
Yeah there needs to be a flat cap on agony damage, at least the passively applied agony otherwise upper level fractals will only be available to the wealthiest players not necessarily the most skilled. The increased agony infusions can only be applied to rings, and due to the exponential nature of the crafted agony infusions the higher tier ones are simply ludicrously expensive.
How about blinds have ~10% normal duration, at least for dungeons, so that you need to time it almost perfectly for it to be helpful making blind spam a waste of time.
My advice is learn how to use all of the weapon sets. The meta is scepter/focus for pure dps right now, but I have found every weapon combo possible has at least one dungeon situation that I am most comfortable with.
Have fun in grawl with no reflects.
Dredge with no stealth. Lol
I have done 49 dredge with no stealth once and it was surprisingly not the worst thing ever, thank goodness we didn’t get bombs though.
Have fun in grawl with no reflects.
Yes it is a pure gear check but without 55AR but it is substantially tougher than most other lvl 4X fractals. When I did it I only had 50AR and I spent alot of time healing off all the random agony bursts and it was tough. However going from 41-49 was perfectly fine with only 50AR. So in conclusion you are best off finding a pug doing a higher level and just joining them to skip this instability if you have less than 55 AR
I really enjoyed the path, but once my group hits the industrial part of it, my fps drops down to about 5 and it is barely playable. If it weren’t for that I would run it more often but it is just terribly taxing on my computer compared to everything else in this game besides massive zergs.
There have been many complaints about this fractal over the years so after thoroughly thinking it over I have figured out why no one likes it and how it can be changed to be more enjoyable. The answer is simple there are just not enough dredge.
If only they added more dredge, the wonderful sounds of there gongs, their wonderfully high health, and the massive damage of their attacks could be savored much more thoroughly. Another thing worth noting is that while they are immune to blind, they can still be easily knocked down and stunned, so giving them 60s of stability upon spawning should help them get off all of their attacks so we can appreciate them in their entirety.
Right now over the course of the fractal I only get somewhere between 30-55 heavy minor’s bags. This is simply an unacceptably low level and I would like to see Anet make changes to double it. Though this may make dredge too rewarding so I would propose the additional dredge do not drop loot, otherwise this fractal might become another Queensdale train.
I’m not understanding why Ele’s have the lowest health, and the lowest armor, but not the highest damage to compensate?
In comparison, Warriors have the highest health, highest armor, and the highest damage, and their trade off is the lowest healing.
False, warrior healing is insane as well. With heal sig, adrenal health, and all those shout heals if they trait for them. They probably can heal even better than eles not sure exactly what the numbers are over time though.
Best part about all the necro complainers, is that condition necros still basically hard counter ds eles. Just swap in lich form for the elite, break the threshold, and face roll same as always. Now eles just have a chance against the truly stubborn and stupid.
What I believe you just fought is a blackwater mesmer arguably the toughest 1v1 spec in the game. If they are competent they will beat you every time, though in wvw you can run away anytime you want if that is any consolation. With that being said, for dueling purposes, diamond skin completely wrecks them now unless they do manage to break the 10% threshold which isn’t easy for most of them unless they invest a decent amount into power.
That is why I literally stand right on top her and just tank it without even dodging as she will sometimes fire that off with even the smallest gap. Then if she knocks me back always dodge into her, never don’t dodge when there is any separation between you and her. When low on health just peel out behind a tower to heal.
