I for one am happy because this means more living story. I play GW2 for the story and lore. I don’t mind not having more legendaries for awhile. I can’t believe so many people are saying the bought HOT for more of them. It’s a small part of the game. Don’t let the negativity drag you guys down and do what you must.
I’m confused. How does it mean that they will ship more living story? Nothing in MOs posts says that this will result in more content as far as I can see (and I doublechecked in the dev tracker)
when asked if LS might come earlier because of this decision he answered with the word “maybe”.
Now, this is my personal opinion and it might be wrong, but considering that they went back on their word regarding something that they had promised would come, a “maybe” regarding early release means nothing at all. I’m not convinced LS3 will ship at all this year, but they’re welcome to prove me wrong
The facts of the matter are simple. They are not currently working on legendary weapons. They want to start getting the content that everyone can enjoy out the door. Legendary weapons are not gone for good, they just no longer have a set window of when we will have them, but we will have them at some.point.
Oh I totally agree with this. They will use the remaining 12 as a sales pitch for the next expansion, then hold back 9 of them for future advertising. Hopefully they’ll release the last 3 with the first expansion of GW3. Of course, by then I’ll have retired and so will have plenty of time to finish them off. /endsarcasm

I also sincerely hope that the suits realise that the absolutely worst decision they could make right now is to release a new set of those within the coming 2 weeks.
Unfortunately I don’t think they will realise this, and the immediate result will that the amount of kittens here on the forum will increase to the point that the crazy catlady seems like a bastion of sanity.
The long-term result will be further loss of credibility which will lead to a decrease in sales.
I was discussing that point yesterday with some friends and we figured it was because Friday was likely when the final decision was made and it was important enough news to tell the players right away. Just look at all the complaints from those who had pre-made Gifts in anticipation of coming legendaries. The sooner players knew that what we have is pretty much it, the sooner they could stop grinding for something they won’t be able to make after all.
I can think of no other sane reason to drop this news at the end of a work week leading into a family holiday weekend.
How about “let’s drop it on friday so most of the rage is over when we get back next week”?
Good idea! My best memories of this game are all LS1-related. The tower was cool, the LA arch (from evacuation to breachmaker) and marionette was the most fun I’ve ever had in a game

dont believe me, just check heartofthorns.guildwars2.com and try to find where 16 new legendary weapons is listed. its not. This was content that was promised along side HoT not part of HoT.
I’m just astonished I still haven’t heard anyone give a single apology. I would honestly feel, not much, but a tad better knowing that they acknowledged that they f’d up.
Why do you expect an apology? If you read MOs posts it is quite clear that he doesn’t feel he’s done anything wrong. In fact, he clearly says that we should be happy with what they release instead of hoping that they’ll release what they promise to.
I too can’t understand why some are so angry for this but what I do understand is that alot of people are angry becouse they backed down on a promise. It could have been the raid, it could have been the LW it could have been any content that Anet has promised to deliver as a part of the Expac and everyone would have been angry with them. Legendaries is probably the least hard hitting promise that they could have terminated, but there are some people who like this kind of content and bought HoT mostly for the sake of Legendary weapons.
That people are angry, I do get that but what makes me sad is that there are so many rude people who are cursing and blaming Anet for being all kind of monsters without any facts and to little information.
I’m not angry. I had high hopes for and had already started gathering materials for the new legendary dagger and longbow, since I don’t like the gen1 ones. New legendaries was a big part of why I bought the expansion. Now they’re scrapping advertised content while a majority of devs are working on the NEXT expansion.
For me this is about trust. After this, I don’t trust this company any more. I’ll still play the game since I love it, but from here on I won’t believe anything they say.
That is very true, but I do believe they TRIED. I don’t think they had planned it out to cancel them when they released HoT. This was most likely, as Mike already stated, a difficult decision. I guess my excitement for Living Worlds is overriding my displeasure for their failed promise.
Unfortunately for me it’s the opposite – since they choose not to deliver something that they used as a selling point for a paid expansion, I have no hope at all regarding a living world. It makes me a bit sad that all I’m waiting for now is to see what they manage to break in the next update.
I strongly believe that we will in fact entertain you. We’re a team of people who love the game that you love, and are working on things we’re confident you’ll love. But I’m not here to convince you of that, and I wouldn’t expect you to take my word for it. You can make that judgment in April, and each subsequent time we ship. I will work to make you happy, and I’ll do it by making you happy with what we ship, not with what we promise to ship.

If you didn’t get the hatchling in your inventory and you’re sure you haven’t missed something, you should contact support.
You should have gotten it at the same time as the collection achievement.
Shatterer and Tequatl has “The Charr Triumphant” (I’m a bit sad that Teq didn’t get new music with his update), Claw of Jormag has “Raven Speaks”, Zhaitan has “Here be Dragons”.
If I remember correctly the Svanir Shaman has “Scales of Issormir”. There are others, like the one in the temple of Melandru, but I can’t remember the name on that one.
Example: the ghost slaying potion only exists as extended potion, thus being soulbound on acquire.

you can only do the achievements on the second run for each character. If you want to do it on your ranger, finish the mission, then restart the episode for the achievements. When you restart the mission you don’t have to do them in order, so you can go straight back to hidden arcana.
Am I the only one who finds it strange that there are so many ´people on this forum that claim to love the game but in the next breath states that they haven’t played for a year or doesn’t even have the game installed?
Anyway, my advice to OP: try to find another game that you like. From your post I draw the conclusion that you do not like this game anymore, You love an idea about how you want GW2 to be, and that will only lead to disappointment.
I’m not saying it to be mean or anything, I just think you’ll be happier if you move on.
Now I know why the map is suddenly empty. Found people were doing both; events & chest farming. They would chest farm in between events.
What makes this annoying is trying to get all the achievements with very few players around to help.
As for the loot, it’s not spectacular anyway. Lets face it, loot in this game has been poor for a while now.
Yeah, feel a little bad for people who can’t finish their achievements now, but having all achievements I see no point in going back there now when other places give more loot. 3 rares for 5 champs after 40 min killing non-loot mobs, when I can get the same amount of loot in 20 min in Orr.. My inner skritt says: No.
why would it destroy the jewelry market? as far as I know the jar has one stat set only, and one that I personally don’t use. The other stats should still be sellable as usual.
With the most recent update, in the hidden-ish Dormand priory library, I found a book, called Krewe Influencers. A collection of tips and tricks that helps the reader through krewe selection. Written by Florggi.
Not all tasks can be performed by krewe members. You may need “special” volunteers to further your research.
For expample, suppose your krewe has a prototype that will allow asura to fly at the speed of a Canthan firework. How are you going to test it ?
Obviously, YOU can’t test it, you are far too valuable, and krewe members can be expensive to replace. So you need a bookah.
Your average bookah (human) is very easy to manipulate with flattery and tends to enjoy going on adventures.

Humans like going on adventures while asura read their books and do golems that can easyly be destroyed by a dagger.
I see nothing wrong with this text, it’s just basic info. The Asura are who they are, the bookahs are what they are. When I have spent years on forming a passable krewe that is able to further enhance my own greatness, why risk loosing one of them when I can simply dangle a small trinket in front of a bookah? If it works as calculated, everything is fine. If it doesn’t, well, nobody important is lost.
TP weapons and armor is extremely laggy and unusable for buying low level gear.
I will simply out-level it much more faster than the time it takes to buy it all. If there was a quick “buy dated gear” button, that is the only way I will able to use the TP.
But then, it is much more easier to just add skins to white gear vendor.
I do not understand this at all. buying level appropriate armor takes at most 2 min at TP, add another minute for weapons.. Are you saying you gain levels faster than that?
I have noticed that the jp:s in LA often do not count toward the monthly achievement, but all the others have worked fine. I have never come across the problem with the chests being open though.
Once upon a time I played Divine Divinity (single player game). There you built up your reputation by your actions, good or bad, better reputation gave you lower prices at merchants, worse reputation gave you higher prices simply because they didn’t like you, but on the other hand, some merchants only sold stuff to you if you were a bad boy. This is a thing I miss.
Legendaries have stats, but they are not fixed, you choose them. Whenever you are out of combat you can change the stats of your legendary, for example: you have zerker stats on it, but out of combat you can choose Knight stats instead, or carrion etc etc
Did we really kill Zhaitan? I’m not sure we did, we brought him down, sure, we defeated him, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that we killed him..
I might be overly suspicious, though.
