I’m currently leveling a new character, just to try the new system. I dislike some minor parts of it (like being rewarded a soulbound spinel lump that can’t be stored as a collectible) but overall I’m happy with the changes. Would I like more? Sure! I’d love new maps, maybe a new class and so on. Do I need it? Nope, the game is still fun for me, even though I have played for nearly 2 years.

I actually remember one time when two rangers above the chandelier room stopped ten people trying to get up. Griefing is possible at that place, we tried to get up for 45 min before we gave up. We managed to down them several times but they healed each other and kept going.
Still, I don’t want the JP changed. It is fine as it is. If someone kills you, call in a friend or two to get even – or do something else for a while before going back.

I use toons when talking about all my characters. If I talk about one of them I use his name – unless I speak about my Charr character, him I refer to as “that worthless pice of ****”

The six would make good ascended minis, my suggestion for a legendary mini would be a mini me, that would be an exact replica of my toon, and would stay an exact replica even if I change appearance or weapons/armor.

Well, Lions Arch is destroyed, and people are busy repairing stuff, there’s no time for a festival right now. I think Dragon Bash will return when the city is rebuilt.

I have tried the 10-recipe several times in the hope of getting T6-mats.. all I get i clovers -.-
I wish I could sell them.

I still say it’s a bug, since sometimes one of my toons have their headgear in those cutscenes, while another toon does not in the same scene. Though I admit that my 21 toons are not nearly enough to provide accurate statistics..

Actually that bug is still here.. last time I did Arah story (a few days ago) she was without headgear, and bald.

Well, if the novels are considered part of the lore, there is a scene in Edge of Destiny where Snaff makes dinner, consisting of smoked pork, potatoes, onions, leeks, gravy and cornflower cakes with honey.

You can get them from every type of ore node, but it’s all about RNG.

What I’d like to see is a system that allows you to start with a basic backpack, and upgrade it with crafting, eventually ending in a FINALLY reasonably attained ascended backpiece.

Like the spinal back but without the blade shards? I like that idea!

I use basic salvage kits on blues/green. I have tried better salvage kits on them but I didn’t see any improvement so I stick with basic.
If you have lots of low tier crafting materials you could craft blues and salvage them for luck, I haven’t done any calculations on that so I don’t know if it is cheaper than buying blues on TP. Personally I just salvage all greens/blues I get from loot. It isn’t as fast as crafting/buying stuff for salvage, but I’m at 187% at the moment so I’m getting there.
Do not salvage ectos for luck, it is way too expensive.

older players with maxed toons who don’t get affected by the DR like most do don’t understand the toxic eastern style economy this game has had since Nov 2012. When you don’t have one of the unlucky accounts or you’re not a new player or if you don’t spend all of your time in dungeons/EOTM trains, of course you’ll have 0 problems getting loot.

One can remove the toxic elements from their game and still have a profitable title without gouging the new players. Example? Diablo III.

I am one of those older players you mentioned, could you explain that toxic economy to me please?

I have chop it all and frost wasp, and really don’t like frost wasp and regret buying it. It looks cool, but it has a bug or something where the character will get stuck for a second or two after the animation ends. You can end it sooner and avoid the bug, but it’s really annoying having to even think about it.

Same here, I wish there was an npc where you could change one axe for another :p

um.. agreeing with most people here. I don’t understand the part of gems for dye options, a dye is free to apply once unlocked, so I guess it’s just part of the rant.

The frost wasp is really slow, the other two have the same time as a regular ori axe.

I actually like Phlunt. To me he is exactly what I would expect from a member of the Arcane Council, he is full of himself, grumpy and suspicious. If I was on the Arcane council I would also be grumpy because I would have to spend time there instead of working on the thing that would make me more famous than Snaff.
I would love to watch a debate between him and Zojja btw.

Most of the new back pieces are crafted and account bound, so if you want them, you just have to suck it up and head to the crafting stations. (and to TP to buy the recipe in some cases)
The option is to go for the ones on TP or laurel vendor, though they cost a lot on TP.

I’d agree, except the coin can only be accessed from the earlier area. You can’t drop to it from Challenger Cliffs or anything, because the coin is hidden under the ledge.

I usually have a loading time of 3-5 seconds. Clearly you have a different experience.

the skins are unlocked in the wardrobe, equip a weapon on one toon and you have unlocked the skin, then you just need a trans charge to get that skin on another toon.

Orr is always full of people, the traits there are not going to be a problem. I think (but I am not sure) that the mid range maps (lvl 30-60) are less populated.

There’s no way you’ve leveled a character in this new system and have that perspective. You can’t possibly think that 100% Lornar’s Pass map complete for a single, first-tier trait is good design. I will concede that perhaps it is in line with your chosen play-style, and that’s fine. I’m glad you like it. And if ANET decides that more people like it than hate it, then I hope they’re happy with the customer base they’ll be keeping.

Having created and leveled 4 toons in the new system.. I like it. I have bought a few traits on each but it’s no big deal for me, I have the gold and skillpoints are piling up fast. I have no problem with completing a map to get a trait.
That being said, I agree with OP regarding the grub – to have that event as a trait unlocker was a synaptic misfire of massive proportions.

Somehow this thread reminded me of the following dialogue in Interdisciplinary Accessium:

I just had an idea for LS 3.
Anet make mounts, remove waypoints and asura gates, make one single resurrection point in our home instance – race lock home instances and then let an elder dragon corrupt all mounts. oh, the mayhem!

On topic: There is enough problems in the game as it is, adding mounts would not help in any way, just create more problems.

This is nothing all that out-of-the-ordinary, really. NPCs aren’t bound by the same rules as the players. They can equip whatever weapons or armor they want regardless of “class”. Heck, I believe I remember hearing that one of the Asura NPCs in the Council actually wears human cultural armor.

Not just about the legendary , and while my post made me sound kitten as I’m tired , I just don’t know what else to do in the game… so I started just slowly working on another legendary , as there’s nothing to do , living story is a complete joke , I’ve ran that many fractals and every dungeon they have just become stale , I’m mainly pve , the wvw/pvp side of things while fun at times , just doesn’t hold me for long. People ask for more dungeons and we get aetherblade? Not many want to spend 2+ hours on 1 dungeon path…

That complete joke gave me Zap as a random drop during season one, in one of the invasions in Timberline, so I kind of disagree, Living story is fun

I don’t do a lot of pve stuff… I spend nearly all my time in wvw but sometimes we run out of people to kill and eotm is all one colour… so it is off to pve for a bit to allow our foes to recover.

SO… I do this living story thing and do the third part of the story last night and get my reward bag for getting the achievement… I never expect much from these rewards but usually I get a couple of rare materials and some green weapons to salvage for luck points.

BUT… this time I get 8 globs of globby goop (junk) – seriously Anet? That is the reward for doing that achievement?

I’ve been playing this game since Beta and have yet to get a precursor… then I see people who get three precursors in one week… but to get 8 globs of globby goop for an achievement reward is taking the kitten.

You have not prayed hard enough to the RNG gods.

I had the same problem with my naga, and synapse was up to date. I uninstalled and reinstalled synapse and after that it works fine for me. It could be worth a try.

Same problem here but with the Black citadel map. Game works just fine when I log on to toons elsewhere but toons in Black Citadel get stuck on the loading screen.

the recipies will be an issue in the future, the fossils are not an issue anymore since you can buy them from the vendor.

you buy that recipe, use it, then select the Recipe: Keeper’s Ascended Heavy Leggings.
Or is that not what you’re talking about? The wiki is very sparse on Keeper’s Tassets.

The zealot stats recipies were RNG rewards during the marionette period in january.

Rage? It’s a ridiculous design decision, I don’t care that there is exotic versions available, I have all the materials sitting in my inventory to make the ascended versions and now am stuck with keeper’s insignias with no recipe to combine them due limited availability for a stat combination, which is ridiculous cause it impacts gameplay and is not vanity, so now I am to sit and wait until arenanet decides to bring them back again in some random future event?

They are an entirely different recipe to the ones obtained by laurels and were an RNG drop from a previous LS event.

Unfortunately that was how LS1 worked though. If you didn’t play during the chapters you didn’t get the chapter specific rewards. In LS2 Everything is permanent, so it is not a problem anymore.

Eventually the recipies will come back, as they seem to bring back most things anyway, so just wait and save up laurels until they do.
In the mean time there is nothing stopping you from crafting the rest of the set. Just make tassels with another stat for now.

Usually when they release a new weapon set they charge 1 ticket for them for a couple of weeks. On rare occasions they have a sale on on or all sets, but there is no set rotation.

You can buy an upgrade extractor in gem store (rather expensive).
Another option is to use a BL salvage kit, but that destroys the rifle.

You can not wear two identical rings, for example 2 Red ring of death. Red ring of Death and Crystalline band works just fine.

You have obviously thought a great deal about this. I applaud the effort, but I’m afraid I lost interest when I realised what a massive amount of text I would have to plow through.

off topic: I’d love if the toon slots were given a mouseover info regarding current crafting professions, I have 20 toons and I can never remember which toon I leveled a specific craft on. Nothing fancy needed, just “chef”, “armorsmith” etc

I was a bit surprised that Taimi only gave the gift the first time, my alts get nothing from her. Though it doesn’t really matter since her gift was mainly junk .
The achievement rewards.. well, if they were repeatable I’d do them again.
Getting the replay option on personal story would be nice, the only problem with that is that the price of superior sigils would fall like a rock since you get many of them as standard rewards.

I haven’t done the achievement run yet, but the first time through I noticed that on two occasions two minions spawned at almost the same time on opposite sides. Hoping that was a glitch though.
