You get the same rewards as you did the first time. It is worth it, not so much for the rewards as for the convenience of being able to waipoint anywhere for boss trains etc.

Most of the things you mention are explained in the story. You have missed 3 or 4 episodes, all of which lead you further into Dry Top.
I agree that it would be hard to find your way without doing the story, but the handholding you request is already there, for a few gems. Alternatively you can team up with someone who has all parts unlocked and play through the story for free.

Architecture lvl 2 makes it possible to build the Guild stash (50 slots). Level 4 makes it possible to add the Guild treasure trove (100 slots) and level 5 makes it possible to add the Deep Cave (100 slots).
Total influence cost architecture lvl 1-5 + the 3 vaults: 52 500 influence.

Yes please! I got the ghost slaying recipe and made a bunch of those tonics before realising that I couldn’t use them on my other characters. I see no point in those tonics being soulbound, pleeeeease make them account bound!

While we’re on the subject its pretty close to my absolute hatred for the dredge, I cross entire contents to slay every last one of them.

Totally off topic, but I just loved finding another dredgehater!! The dwarves should have wiped them out before leaving.

Anet promised a merchant selling things for bladeshards, and they delivered on that promise during the zephyrite stuff earlier this year. As far as I know, they never promised anything else, and it is very unlikely that they would add a merchant now for old stuff, simply because most people have thrown surplus items away by now.
I wouldn’t mind watching the rage circus if they did add a merchant though..

The shattered wings were achievement rewards and are currently not available. The holographic dragon wings are available on the TP and from Sonder.

Keeper’s (ascended) and zealot’s (exotic) recipies were only available during the Marionette event in living story season 1. The only way to get them now is buying them on the trading post.

Kryta perhaps? Southsun Cove counts as Kryta for some reason so maybe Dry Top does as well..

Only legendary weapons have footsteps.

I like that boss, I like any boss that is different from the usual, spam-1-until-dead bosses.
Frankly though, I’d prefer it if all bosses had healing skills etc with the same cooldown as we do, and utility skills. That would make it more interesting.

Are your characters newly created? Skill challenges are unlocked at level 13 now unless I remember wrong.

They are level up rewards.. if you want them you have to make a new toon. Then you can get your one single obsidian shard and one black lion key. 98% of the rewards are items you will never use on a lvl 80 toon (because they are the level you are when you get them) and you are not able to sell them.

I have always found this weird – it is the main base of the pact after all.

using unlocked dyes is free, you can change them whenever you want without cost. (The only cost is when/if you buy a color on the TP)
The colors you apply remain until you choose another color, even if you change armor.

Fixed a bug that increased the time needed to progress from level 20 to level 30.

lvl 60 is done with retribution.
lvl 70 is forging the pact to the source of Orr
lvl 80 is temple of the forgotten god to arah story

I played through it once after the change. I’m trying hard to forget the mess they made of it after claw Island.

I made a new character after the feature patch and I just finished the personal story.
I have the following questions to Arenanet:

1. The greatest fear part of personal story is removed. I don’t like it but I can live with it. But why have you not removed the dialogue in the other missions about the removed missions? At one point Trahearne holds a long speach about how Tonn is missed and Ceera blames me, and in the “new” personal story I never met them.

2. Is the magic of Caladbolg now more powerful than Zhaitan?
I’m asking since we now cleanse the source of Orr and then it goes quite some time before we take on the dragon. What is stopping him from corrupting the source again? After all, we start the job of weaking him AFTER the cleansing now…

I usually get one charged per day from the home instance node so I don’t bother with charging.

well.. all infinte gathering tools are better then the npc sold ones to begin with, they scale which the ordinary ones do not, and they are infinite. So, you are basically saying you want to get rid of all of them because the ones in gem store are better?

I tried asking nicely for 2 hours earlier today, and the answer was always “No, change maps.” And every time I tried to do that I got back into the same map. I wish there was a way to choose map shards, that would solve the problem for me :p

If people want to farm events I say let them farm! However, I want to be able to do my living story as well. So I contacted anet and suggested that they would make it possible to continue with LS by simply destroying the ice totem in Coiled Watch, regardless if the event succeeded or not.

Their answer:
“We’re sorry to hear that you’re not able to progress through the living story. Unfortunately we will not be able to complete it for you, but you can try guesting on a low population server to try to complete the task.”

Anet does nothing. I have asked them, they responded with we can’t do anything, try guesting on a low-pop server.

I have the same problem. When asking them to let the event succeed they tell me to change maps. I tried for nearly an hour, but always came to the same map.
I don’t mind people farming events, I just want to continue my story. I wish anet would make it possible to continue with LS by destroying the totem without having to succeed the Coiled Watch events.

The ineffable inscriptions is for making account bound weapons that have selectable stats. These stats are higher than normal weapons of that level have.

They are introduced so you can have a little better gear when levelling alts, but they are also insanely expensive to craft, as an example: a lvl 26 greatsword requires 14 globs of ectoplasm. A level 68 greatsword requires 55 globs of ectoplasm.

Actually, I wish they would take that one step further. Put all currencies in the wallet. Have no temporary currencies.

If they insist on having more temporarily useful junk to clutter our bags and banks with, perhaps clearly label the currency itself with an “expiration” date and put in a permanent currency exchange NPC that exchanges expired currencies for something at least slightly useful.

Easy solution would be to take the wvw season rewards to pve. That would make 3 new currencies in wallet without need for more:
wvw tickets, pve tickets and BL ticket scraps (never understood why I have to buy a BL claim ticket for scraps before buying the skin I want, just make the skins cost 10-70 scraps instead of 1-7 tickets).
No more geodes, festival tokens etc etc, just these three. and an npc that exchanges the old stuff for the new pve tickets naturally.

The Arcane council is corrupt beyond measure, but they are not intellectually challanged enough to hand over a gate to dragon minions, with the risk of them being able to tune it to Rata Sum.. thus, strike the paragraph about a guarded gate in LA, if they want to go there they can walk.

As far as I know nothing is missing, they just reorganised the chapters. Some chapters that used to have a separate title is now part of another title, and thus not visible in the journal in the same way.
I have only done up to lvl 60 after the update though.

there is no guarantee that the skin prices (gold, that is) will go up anytime soon, I expect it will go the other way first, when everyone panic sells to get rid of their hoarded skins. Basically, BL skins are a long term investment.
Whether or not you should exchange gems for gold is something only you can decide. If you choose to do so my advice is to wait a few days – you generally get more gold for your gems when anet releases something new or let something old return in gemstore, which they usually do on tuesdays.
Unless you need a lot of gold immediately, grind some dungeons for a couple of days.

Usually BL weapons are 1 claim ticket for a limited time, then they go up to 3-5 tickets, some to 7.
I expect that they kept it at 1 ticket longer because of the introduction of the Collections. When the Halloween stuff is released they will probably go up to 5 tickets.

Vision Crystals are crafted – the recipe is automatically discovered and can be found under Crafting Components.
You need deldrimor steel ingots and spiritwood planks to make the ascended weapons, and you can craft one of each per day. You can of course also buy these on the TP.
In addition to buying the inscription recipe you also need to buy the dagger recipe (same merchant).

I love my Asura necro! The animation when he uses an axe is my favourite. The asura minion related comments are also great.

Currently, there is no legendary collection.

I think ppl want alternative ways to get BL skins purely because of the collection, I never read any complain before the update, but it also may be result of the key farm nerf …

Unless they have removed it in september patch, there is still a Collection achievement for legendaries, though it isn’t under “Collections”. It says something like “Equipped X legendary weapons” I got tier one of it when I equipped Bolt, can’t remember now how many tiers it is in total.

Are you sure you are buying stuff? I think perhaps you are placing buy orders..

Light and medium armor masters in Hoelbrak do not sell runes anymore. I think I sent a ticket about it upon discovery, but I’m unsure now, so I might send another one just in case.

Let’s hope it’s an oversight that will be corrected, since all 3 armormaking professions can craft bags, all 3 masters should sell the runes.
