So my old go to Phantasm build was 10/20/0/20/20, going for Phantasm haste, and the utilities were blink, iDefender, and null field. I can see how having a defensinve phantasm is a liability given how fast they will still die. But really the Signet feels best used with a staff that can keep up chaos armor, which I just realized is a great way to get boons to share. I was thinking Phantasmal Disenchanter would work, but don’t think that one works too great yet.
I’m currently looking to gather gear for a healing build, but don’t know if I want Cleric for the toughness or Magi’s for the precision and that its from running dungeons instead of crafting.
Pretty much this.
They take too long to kill, deal too much damage, and there is no way to avoid being instagib’d by corruption stacks since it stacks regardless of what you do.
Lower their health, change it so corruption only stacks while in Grenth’s domain, and get rid of those vortexes double dipping.
Spamming the blue blazes out of a skill doesn’t bother me, I used to play a holy priest via my old warcrack days, So instead of hotting up and flash heal and circle of healing spam it would be more of Mantra of Recovery, Mantra of Pain spam and clone regeneration.
Stopcasting macros in the hizzy.
>played disc priest.
>bubbles everywhere.
Doesn’t help that the room you fight him in P2 is small as all heck.
I will get drowsy finishing most dungeons in this game. This goes from route easy dungeons like AC to whatever I was able to do in the few Arah runs I’ve been in. Win or lose, at the end I have little energy to keep playing.
But there still needs to be reasonable accommodation for when things screw up. Nobody’s perfect and something like this shouldn’t make a run any more frustrating than it needs to be.
First I’ve heard about this. Would like a fix cause I’m building a set from them right now.
We need the confusion dolls and drakes have.
I think it’s been brought up somewhere, but an option to turn in 3-4 tokens of Dungeon A into 1 token for Dungeon B.
So if someone really wants Dungeon B’s armor but hates doing Dungeon B, he can do other dungeons and still earn his armor. But it should obviously take longer, because he’s not doing THE dungeon.
I agree with Ursan. A bunch of people from the guild I am in were having this discussion and we all agreed that it would be WONDERFUL if you could take dungeon tokens that you don’t want and trade them for tokens that you -do- want. At least then you can help your friends run through dungeons they need and still profit.
Of course, some dungeon token conversions may be harsher than others, due to discrepancies in difficulty for acquire.
Or more importantly the ones with 70-80 rare gear you can buy to smash for ectos, compared to the underleveled stuff from the other dungeons.
Reign in the weirdly difficult so I can run all of a dungeon without having to plan for a totally different night compared to other dungeons.
Mostly timing. Have it up when they look like they’re about to attack, especially with something that casts multiple times in a row. Its not an uptime like other dots, its specifically to counter activity.
WoW initially had their own version of this problem. Most boss fights were not melee friendly, and you even had rogues using bows for specific fights. So they made a decision that all subsequent fights had places where melee could be without much risk and had more abilities that targeted the ranged players. While that may be within the design of a trinity based party system, its not as if there are design decisions in this game that would better favor melee play over ranged play, to the point that neither should be more complicated to play in comparison.
http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/19721 and waddaya know, ectos are on a downtrend. Either people are dropping stock or demand suddenly died.
I wish my mesmer had the confusion these reef drakes have.
Hell, anything to get more bodies onto this place wouldn’t hurt. Now they just need to add more items.
Because it looks AWESOME!!!!!!!!
Wasn’t path 1 bugged? Probably doesn’t help misconceptions.
He’s a boss. That doesn’t die. That’s wrong.
You can forge karma stuff though.
And I thought that autorun issue was something with my combat mod.
If you want dungeons that last longer than the hour, then GW2 needs to include raids, where you can save progress, so casuals can work through the place one hour at a time, while the rest you blokes can spend your entire nights in there for fun.
This is probably a stupid question, but what good is condition damage for a Mesmer? The primary and nearly only condition for them is Confusion, right? Can Confusion gain crit damage? Power and Precision have usually been my focus, but I’m still growing and learning.
Staff 1 drops bleeds and burn conditions, as well as any clone using a staff as well.
Illusions will cause bleeds on crit with the 15 trait in dueling.
Random condition on clone kill will include burns, poisons, and bleeds.
Chaos storm applies poison.
So yea, if you’re using a staff for it’s damage and not its utility condition damage has its use there.
Arguably the warlock from Staff does more damage than the amount of conditions you can feasibly stack with the staff that it’s still better to build for direct damage to boost that.
Same with the Illusion bleed on crit. Better off building for base damage than proc’d damage.
Random loot is random. Demand is just up with a drop in supply from lack of bots and Plinx events.
If there was a nerf it was in the drop rate of loot because of the divergence of people from farming Orr to running Fractals.
I’d consider the Staff a midrange weapon, because while the ball is 1200 range, the bounce range is much shorter, and it’s the bounce that does the most of the damage. Not to mention being able to chaos storm and leap out of it point blank as well.
For the pistol, I just want one ability that curves a bullet. Just because.
And I’d have to rename/reroll my character to be her http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Reisen_Udongein_Inaba
Hell, this has been a problem for mesmers as well. Bosses need to not target non-player enemies when using abilities. This stems from something like the Subject Alpha fight but now this is just not a good thing to have happen.
Mesmer GS 1 is not a projectile, 2 is and has a projectile finisher.
Staff 1 is projectile. Both pistols are projectiles.
Scepter 1 is a projectile, doubt scepter 3 is though.Wait, are you certain that staff 1 is a projectile? I know staff 2 is, but I don’t recall getting reflected damage from staff 1.. (what would a reflected rainbow look like anyway?)
Mesmer Staff 1. Chaos Wind. Mesmer Staff 2 is Phase Retreat, which is a teleport/leap.
Mesmer GS 1 is not a projectile, 2 is and has a projectile finisher.
Staff 1 is projectile. Both pistols are projectiles.
Scepter 1 is a projectile, doubt scepter 3 is though.
I’d say if we’re following this logic all Phantasms attack the moment the summon is completed and then count down from there.
When I can fight a boss by summoning three phantasms and then sit there and autoattack because that’s my best option, something might be a bit wrong.
More often than not when I start reviving someone something gets dropped on me. And sometimes I can break the channel, but sometimes it does not without some mashing of keys.
Let me automatically roll back when I hit my dodge key during a revive.
More importantly you want that first hit to cripple the enemy as soon as possible.
Can we have blink move us the furthest possible in the direction of the cursor if the cursor happens to point somewhere outside of it’s effective range?
I use fast cast for all my ground target skills and often enough I have to guess where to place things due to uneven terrain.
Happens here as well. I run back into AoE’s a bunch when this happens.
I say depends on your main damage source, and then how tanky/damagey you want to be.
GS, sword, and focus are all direct damage weapons, as such I’d say you want to build for crit and crit damage. So Berserkers, Valkryies, Knights stuff.
What I don’t like is some of the complete fail states these jumps will get you. I was in the Grawl dungeon today, and that if you miss a single jump for any reason, you’re dead and cannot regroup with your party to continue. And as such the rest of the group has to quit out to bring you back, or continue without.
It may be fine to say this game has jumping puzzles as part of it’s game, but it’s still jumping built into an MMO, and it’s not going to be a properly responsive system.
More importantly, the jumping puzzles elsewhere in the game allowed you to restart when failed, either by death or a path back to the start. If your only choice after a failed jump is to force everyone else to die to, then it’s just an unnecessary hindrance to everyone.
Need more circles/lines to indicate all the traps. I’m not playing I spy for bear traps and trip wires.
1h Sword auto attack. Run around without a target swinging. using shatters help too.
Posting cause Hodgins just bugged on entering the tunnel. Search brought up if you get to the tunnel before he finishes talking, it bugs the boss spawn.
2nd this. Even if I can see them, they’re still really thin and hard to determine where one begins and one ends.
The thing with the other pets they’re either unbound summons/core mechanics/or something that was suppose to stay somewhat permanent. Phantasms are basically our spells, so bringing it out is an attack. And like any other attack they should obey the same rules as other player’s attacks.
Course now they need to fix iZerker’s spin count.
Considering if I get a Twilight my iZerker and bouncing blade have the item transfered over not sure why these should not.
Course with those sounds having 3 of them firing both of them with haste. That’s a lot of sounds going on.

Instant burn dead corpses to get rid of them. Force a respawn at base.
you can yes but nothing in the current dungeons calls for anything more than 1 guy to take the brunt of the beating and 4 guys dealing damage.
for example Mesmers have alot of Boon Removal yet i havent had a single boss fight where i’ve thought ye Boon Removal would be handy here.
The two guys I’ve seen that use totems help.
Is the fire AoE on player or on target?
There should be a use limit. 5 sounds about right.
So what I’m getting is the 10x gives 10x of one result, instead of what I assumed was just 10 single different results.
Short is good when there are no save points. Raids in WoW could take hours, but can can also be done in hour or half hour chunks, because the entire instance was saved for the week. Everyone has their time limit when playing the game, and most of them will be short.
The boss is going for the people capable of dealing more damage as they summon allies to aid them, how truly unfair of alpha. Grow up.
The entire basis of the Mesmer class is having these summons aid me. If I run around pretty much ever other part of this game just fine and only have this special condition I have to completely change up how I play that works completely fine everywhere else, this is the grown up response.
