The map seems to be designed out of an idea that all three servers are fighting at the same time with the same presence at any given time. But once one side wavers then the more populated one side will take out the remaining third side. Scoring system doesn’t help either.
Or add lodestone transmutation. Turn one lodestone into another.
Eh I’d like to not be completely screwed if I get tagged by anything 1 time. 2-3 times maybe, but 1 is easy.
Meh, I need another 242 badges for a gift then I’m out. Wish they’d drop more frequently. I don’t want to have to drag a bunch of toons through the jumping puzzles.
More importantly I need to use distortion for more than just doing immune stomps.
I can say my play with GS is not any better than your staff, and between the two staff makes for a better weapon for infighting, which is what I’m looking for to counter thieves. GS at range is easily better, but doesn’t help in solo situations.
Well I feel kinda lame building my survivalist greatsword build. It’s great in group play, but taht’s just cause in a zerg you’re safe with numbers. Staff is defensive enough for roaming play, which I end up doing a lot.
Course, spent my tokens on the MF staff, so oh well.
Now I feel weird going for a Sunrise/Twilight.

Wait, there’s an OP mesmer build? Why am I not using this?
Wish someone would contest EB’s stuff on their grounds. Only we have a mosiac going on here.
Well makes sense. Eventually tokens become useless if the gear’s been gathered and all that’s left is gambling for legendaries or something.
Yea, but what I’d like is some sort of big indicator someone else started firing their laser. We should all know the strat, but we should not have to rely on external communications to execute them. These tools should be in game. The shield could stand to be down longer just so you spend more time fighting and less time climbing stairs and hopping platforms.
All other bags are essentially account bound. I always pass down the bags from my main to my alt as I upgrade. This bag was pointless when I ran it on my main, but I have at least 3 other characters that can use a 10 slot bag. But now I can’t cause I vendored it.
The run down is too long for the window the shield can stay down, and the window to take down the shield is too small and it’s pretty hard to notice if the other players are firing the laser. A bit too much timing for just one event that is repeated a bit too often.
Yea the CD reduction for both sword and pistol would be big against thieves, with extra invuln and the daze up. Illusionary persona works for having to daze without a clone out, and the staff is just that tanky.
Well as long as retaliation and regeneration from the 4th line don’t work, I should move those 10 points into dueling and get CD on both the sword and pistol just for thieves.
Because thieves suck.
Now my question is what kind of runes do I want. Do I want to go straight gems or consider a set of some sort.
Does the Mesmer GS beam work through this? Cause as a beam it doesn’t get bounced back by reflection moves.
Hum, so this old 10/20/0/20/20 GS Sword/Pistol phantasm build would be a bad idea against, heck most fights I seem to get into. I feel like I want at least 20 into Dom for GS trait with 20 into Dueling for the clone on dodge. And while Fury and Regeneration overwrite each other it’s better not to get those two clashing traits.
Course, running around in WvW large group fights are hard to determine what’s working in the build and what isn’t.
Screw that, I’m just going for a legendary cause it looks nice on my back and in my hand. Nothing else. Heck, right now I run mostly staff for farming purposes.
Ah got it. Jump into the tower. Got chest. Got achievement. Boots are traveler exotic.
So any of the other events work?
Ah got past that part. Slipped later on.
Can we not have narrow slippery platforms?
I’m guessing leap of faith but eh too many small geometry bits stopping me from getting back up there.
Got there too. Thinking that path is a trap and there’s someway to jump on the stuff on top.
I’m wondering why this game doesn’t have the function to reset individual events.
Either there’s farmers farming with or farmers having one guy camp em to prevent them from dying. Either way that’s a lot to try and take on solo.
Well arguably you’re now at the advantage because his reliance was on that initial opener and he also has to reset.
Don’t forget the change to assassin’s signet to 15% over 5 hits instead of 50 on 1.
Eh I wasn’t getting it during the GL fight in Arah just now. And really could have used it.
Well you guys suck Yak. This week blows. Standings like this have to be designed out of the game. This is not going anywhere at all.
Yes I will keep posting inane things as long as I can’t WvW.
I do agree with the idea of being able to build siege at spawn — at least on borderlands. I don’t think it makes sense to allow that on BG because of the proximity to the keep. However, maybe that would be fine to keep things interesting when one server is dominating.
The problem is what makes sense in a match when your being steam rolled vs a match where the battle is even. Having siege where it cannot be reached is fine in a match like this, they can use the help. Having it when the battle is even would give a huge advantage to the defenders of a BL. Perhaps that isn’t a bad thing, but hard to balance I think.
I wouldn’t be opposed to areas on each citadel that is physically inaccessible to the enemy, but still vulnerable to range attacks where defenders could set up siege, but only so they could reach the two towers and north supply camp, but not the garrison.
Any siege at start will only be able to affect the nearby area, namely the keep and maybe a tower. Even if you could build golems there, it would still incur a travel time to the action, unless you have trebs lined up just to take out golem construction. That’s in the Eternal Battleground.
If loot drops underwater had the same rate as the ones above I’d be farming these guys for badges. But for some reason its less.
I think we need to be able to build siege at base, cause if there was one way to fight out of such a situation like this, it’s by building your way out.
(edited by AsteriskCGY.5931)
They can come indefinitely as long as they’re regular mobs really.
I would not consider updates “spoilers”
I think there should be a supply point inside each spawn point, and trebs at the walls. This lets the attacking team build out from their starting point, instead of having to fight out against a group with supply to take anything.
And they can set up catapults in an instant while we have to run around for supplies. Yea, that’s being fair.
And still no one is killing those bots in the water, why?
Oh they all Yak Bend’s bots.
Well if pvp gets boring there’s that to do.
(edited by AsteriskCGY.5931)
And all of a sudden 20 people show up against 10 at SF borderlands.
Yea, you have your moments, the rest are like this.
As long as you guys have more on at any given time, game is set. You win, we lose, no one wants to play anymore. Taking ball and going home.
Arguably vanilla needs to drop from wood since vanilla grows on trees. So far I’ve been gathering herb patches from anywhere and been only getting peppercorn.
I think all the fights need more noises, not just cues but dialogue or something. I’m getting bored because all I hear are background noises. Too quiet.
Yea, walking into AC for the first time at like 40 for a 30 dungeon I was like “yea, this’ll be interesting” and it went to “holy hell what went wrong” in that first room.
Course now I understand that place and do just fine, but that first impression is pretty bad.
Why so little time to fight when the shield is down?
Why can’t the lasers make a noise so I know something is happening?
Why make is to that if you screw up just a little bit you’re dead.
Why make the lava pit not a clean run out and have to mash jump just to get over some of the geometry?
Why have the troll target the lasers?
And why make us repeat it a dozen times instead of a decent just 3.
How to remove repair cost:
Stop dying.
To stop dying means to stop fighting.
And then no one engages.
So hows WvW gonna work like that?
Well I have yet to run into a “Nice battle” going into the mists so far this weekend. And all I have time to do now is whine about it on the forums. I don’t think anyone is going to give a decent showing ever at this rate.
And spawn camping needs to be designed out of the game, not requested upon the players.
Stuff like this needs repair costs removed so people feel a need to run in and fight instead of just dodging about avoiding them.
I miss flare and how pets would still seek players if they stealth instead of vanishing.
And I miss warstomp.
But then again, wrong game.
Nah then people just avoid fights even more. There already is a cost with death, and that’s the run back to the action.
Eh its an endemic issue with the population. They crave action and the one place they will see it is where everyone shows up.
We need a deep strike capability. Something like a mobile waypoint. Or a drop ship.
Can you guys at Yaks at least kill the bots in the water?
Freaking A. man.
No fun.
Pets are already going to hit by circles targeting players because they’re not going to dodge. But players are going to get hit by pet targeted AoE’s because chances are they’re right next to them. And times when you could’ve just walked out or stood still becomes a dodge moment with more circles in play. Which just increases the risk of running out of endurance and running into geometry.
Annnd looks like its going to be a dead week for WvW. No one likes to fight a losing battle, and whenever I get in looks like nothing’s happening.
