Those who say “we wouldn’t have bought 800 gems”, stop saying like this was the first and last time you ever use gems. “After this, it was the last time !”, see you in a year and let’s see if you never used gems.
You’re being a little disingenuous here.
While there may be people who state they will never again buy gems, which in a lot of cases we all know won’t hold, there are distinctly people who did buy gems specifically for this armour, and potentially would not have were it to look like something else.
Killed a Toxic Offshoot in Brisbane Wildlands and Caeldon Forest. Did not get the credit towards the daily – but did for Toxic Global Gardener. As I can no longer do the story achievement (because it was bugged when I did it and is now, after a ludicrously short time frame, no longer available) I really need this to be working for the meta.
Those electric things are actually portals. Well, one of them is a portal to the next area, while two of them will instantly down you.
The concept of driving the Ancient Karka in a running battle was great – but poorly executed; enemy health scaling issues, culling, overly long and far too many “reinforcement” phases.
That said I would like to see it as a repeating event in the future (similar to the world dragons) if it was tuned properly. Otherwise it seems like the zone will mostly go to waste.
The island has wonderful visuals but the drop rates are horrendous and the mobs far too difficult to justify said poor loot. It needs a draw to keep people visiting after their initial exploration.

Mesmer chains that stretch an entire battlefield are hilarious fun. You feel like a human skipping stone that can be flung into a besieged keep, die needlessly, then chain teleport right back in again from the other side of the world, all in the space of a few seconds.

I don’t know about your slipshod servers, but Maguuma has been 200% committed to WvW since day 1.
That’s impossible. No one can give more than 100%; by definition, that is the most one can give.

Couple quick notes:
- Off peak capping sucks. SoS knows this as it happens to us every match-up, regardless of who we face, because of our timezones.
- Free transfers are antithetical to the nature of WvW. 24 HOUR Free transfers are just ludicrous.
- More zombie quarantine zones must be built in the borderlands. Also more flame rams because you kill zombies with fire.
- PVP Buffs being given to the winning side rather than better buffs/incentives for the losing or outnumbered side is bizarre.
- Spacedad: I think you’re taking this all too seriously. We understand where you’re coming from, really, but the snide commentary, while sometimes funny, is doing more harm than good. If you wanted “civil discussion” (your words) you’re going about it in a very strange way.
- Some of the new guilds that came over are genuinely nice fellas (and shielas). I’ve had occassion to talk with a few of them and by and large they’re friendly, outgoing, and in it for the long game.
- Many of us on SoS don’t care if we go up the ranks and get crushed. A lot of people are looking forward to seeing SoS getting done in at the higher levels. This could result in a few things occurring:
All the fairweather guilds leave. Good riddance. SoS is better off for it.
We actually manage to do ok. Great – we now have actively competitive matchups.
We get stomped. Fine – we either improve our skill levels or go down to a tier where we have actively competitive matchups.
The main point is: Oceanics all roll on the same server to play together be it PVE or PVP. The majority of us aren’t really going anywhere.
I’m primarily standing up to you as an individual, since you have decided to be insulting and derisive of several of our members in your previous post, with exactly the broad-brushing you are complaining about no less. We are a server who never backs down from having our members trashed by insulting loose talk.
Allow me to quote the post of mine to which you are referring:

You mean the ‘sore loser’ thing you made up? Also nice work ignoring everything else I have said to you, and ignoring why I said what I did to that guy. In case you missed the not so subtle post of someone earlier: there are NO OCEANIC SERVERS. So telling us rudely to go play on Oceanic servers is going to get some ‘salt’ rubbed in.
You’re being called out for saying the things I quoted, not the content of your argument. Claiming you’ve lost respect for everyone on the server after your server just zoomed up handidly and people on the other servers get desperate and upset; that takes basically no tact whatsoever. As does bragging about keeping the players pinned at spawn because of individuals who say things that irk you in some bizarre reasoning that sounds like you just making excuses for being a butt.
Further – when you insult the members of my server, you will get called on it. My impression of you is that you are very undiplomatic and quick to make excuses retroactively for your own poor tact, so I don’t expect you to take what I’ve said seriously and probably engage in more insults. You are not the kind of person we would want to have here on maguuma, so you are welcome to stay in sos and take part in their hollow win-streak and inevitable collapse from free x-fer joiner-ins making wvw unplayable for many. I would suggest that if and when you are against other servers that aren’t quite in your appropriate bracket yet next week, that you try not to cherry pick for excuses to berate the people you are handidly winning against. We get what you’re saying: Free transfers are certainly an issue. But the backhanded commentary about those Oceanic players who have been busting their hump from day one certainly isn’t going to win you any support.
