At the end of that video he says that tempest is still bad, and that he has transferred all his armour to his Reaper. He says he gets 30k gravedigger crits…

The good news is that Runes of the Berserker are OP, and anyone can use them. The bad news is that they are the most expensive runes.

This is one of the worst rune sets I have ever seen. How could this even make it out of testing? The 6th piece bonus is awful, and the all-stats are ridiculously low (as usual). I do not see a single situation in which this set would NOT suck.

The mission concept is really cool, but it seems bugged. There were times where skills didn’t fire off or were heavily delayed causing me to die when the tendrils hit me with poison while trying to scale the cliff. That was the most frustrating part, after that it was fairly simple. Clearly it was a reskin of the aspect crystal abilities, but it needs a bit more fine tuning.

This. The skills were buggy as all hell, and I even got stuck in jumping pose and had to quit to char select. This was made worse by my Oceanic ping, which has never handled these skills well.

NO FORWARD MOMENTUM

This was the worst experience of the game so far.

Hmmmn. I wonder if that would mean too much time out of Earth. I guess it depends on the fight and how often you can safely Attunement swap, or whether you need DPS or healing.

I was thinking about going an Earth condition tank as well, but maybe Arcane over Water. I wonder if a Water tank would also work…

An aura shout set can only have one potential user, though. You could drop the aura part and focus on the shouts, I guess.

You have made a weak shout set, not an overload set.

Looking at existing rune effects, what would you suggest as being “Overload-y”?

Given Elementalist’s basically non-existant access to Aegis, that seemed like a nice addition to the toolbox and a good solution to being more reliably able to execute an overload in hostile circumstances without stepping on the toes of the stability-while-overloading trait.

Every Tempest will have overloads. Not every Tempest will have shouts or even auras. So you should link Aegis to overloading.

Toughness is good, but you might need a damage increase somewhere as well.

Possibly nerf to mithril from salvage.

Is that code for “Buy mithril ore now”? Because I get the feeling something is gonna happen to all the ore in game. Just a little while ago, I refined 6 stacks of Orichalcum in case they change it to 3:1 for ingots.

Oh no, I’m merely thinking about what I get a lot of salvaging that’s under 1s on the TP. Basically the T5s other than Silk. Now if they are not “fixing” the silk requirement and wanting to use silk as a benchmark for a healthy market … don’t know.

Speculation is a suckers game for most.

This is what I am thinking as well. Of course they saw no need to address the difference until HoT, so maybe they are fine with leaving silk at a zillion times the cost of other mats.

That is a pretty horrible rune set.

Why? One of the biggest complaints about overloading is its too dangerous to use it on a squishy light armor class.

lulwut? they are balancing stuff out, and they objective to have things like cloth go down in price and leather go up.
And while nerfing dungeon GOLD in come, they said they are bumping raids/fractals one, and they are doing that BECAUSE of the economy.

You can trait for shout removal on top of cantrips, regen and heal on shout, is that not enough?…ofc not..people don’t want to give up on strength/hoelbrak whatever am I right? So you need condi removal on shout untraited…

What is this Sorcery? There was a trait that made shouts condi cleanse and I did not see it O__O!

…I did not mention rune sets for nothing,trait by using trooper runes that what it’s good for, synergy with shouts but the problem is people still want to do damage so they ask inbuilt condi clear on tempest..but it doesn’t work like that.

This is why the ele community is spoiled, d/d ele spoiled us too much..people believe that 2-3 eles for team is normal while no ranger and few wars are used and when a ranger spec is deemed more useful than an ele in pve..all hell break lose, 3 years of dominance and all of sudden the dream is over, similar concept in PvP.

To simply put it it cannot be allowed to buff tempest to a level where stacking it becomes beneficial like it happens already with d/d; you can’t put all eggs in a single basket, that creates imbalances

Can you imagine a game where overload are instantly available, reduced time lock on attunement, 2s window to interrupt them and shouts get a 20-33% CD reduction trait?

I tell you what happens…

- 2-3 tempest spamming air overload on a point
-very difficult to interrupt them as they have at least 1-2 stacks of stab and even if you interrupt them..they’ll have overload up again in few secs
-feel the burn spam for massive gain ( aoe fire aura, might, weakness, burning and 1k+ dmg)

If you buff tempest in the wrong way..you’ll just replace the current d/d with tempest and the meta won’t change..

Always wanted ele to be optimal and never oppressive like it’s now, wanted EA as GM and something else as ele main mechanic and force staff on people who still wanted a support role on ele, force them to choose between d/d duellist or staff support.

If something too strong…people will abuse it….it’s that simple

The first minor trait is standard for all elite specializations save chronomancer which on top of shield/well access gain also continuum shift; the minor master for tempest it’s like essential?! without it you’d land maybe 30% of your overloads as the enemy would easily kite you for the duration. Without “speedy conduit” I’d have to worry to have swiftness on me before overloading anything, making things that much harder.The GM minor is redundant yes, already proposed a change.

Ok? You are still wrong. The tempest minors are BY FAR the most limited in scope.

I would like to see Flamestrike given some light AoE burn, or the ability to spread burn. It is just so weak, yet you have to use it for a ranged Tempest condition spec.

Dragon Tooth should have a fractional cast-time, so that it becomes all about skill.

Arc Lightning needs a large damage buff. It is horrible.

Stoneshards needs to apply its bleeds much faster, and Earth needs AoE bleed.

Ice Shards should cause Vulnerability, and Shatterstone chill.

Eles also need a realistic way to apply both burn and bleed.

How about adding: Boons cannot be removed from you after you have completed an overload (5 sec) to the 10% damage trait.

Adding condition damage as well would be nice.

Raids work best when everyone is maximising their potential. This usually means dedicated DPS, tank, and healer. Hybrids SOMETIMES work, but it is rare. The 10 man limit might mean a hybrid dps/healer is viable, but that will most likely be a druid.

I gotta say, last time i checked in the beta test weekend i noticed a good amount of dps, mostly in the form of sustain due to elemental overloads. I was running a S/Wh combo with fresh air and while i used cele trinkets and accesoires, i used berserker amu and armor, my damage was good enough to solo elites in SW. The fight went smooth and i had no trouble surviving and i never felt my dps was low. There was a good amount of sustain instead of periods of burst and periods of no or almost no damage. I think tempest will fill the roll of dedicated dps, with support through aura’s, fields and blast finishers. Dont forget with scepter/warhorn we can deal damage while moving, specially in overloads. Although the tempest needs fine tuning, i do think we fill a spot in the raid.

While i was sceptical when i heard about the tempest and saw what the mechanics where, the feel while playing last weekend was really good. But thats just imho.

The problem with this, is that everything was nerfed in the latest beta weekend. Every build could easily kill things.

I see him post a lot, and it seems he is on the US servers. But his posts are always pseudo-gibberish, even though he seems to understand exactly what others are saying.

Anyway, on topic: I did not see a role for eles in that one raid fight. Warhorn and overloads would especially fail, due to the movement.

Tested Druid as well. The healing is off the hook, especially in celestial form.
