Unless I’ve missed something they haven’t even said this is going to be added, so I don’t see how anyone could possibly know what would be required.
We could guess. For example it would be for making ascended accessories, so it would require the ascended crafting materials. Maybe Crystalline Ore and Ingots (which as far as I know aren’t in-game yet).
But that’s all it is, a guess.
It is pretty much implied if not confirmed by the one ascended Crafting material that is still not in the game. actually, 3 of them. Crystalline Ore for instance.
the other one will apparently require silver, gold and something else i forgot, according to the item description if you look it up on the trading post.
Josh Davis confirmed that the coming tournament will not be the only event where you can win the mini. In future events you have also to survive the first round to get the Llama.
There will be enough opportunities for collectors to participate those events.
Yeah, but, if you cant get a team together for whatever reason, or you get matched up against a professional team each and every time you try, it is not very likely you will ever get it. The limitation to 128 teams surely doesnt help.
So, about that Llama Mini, since the other topic was closed down.
Is there going to be other means of getting it at some point in the future as with Mr. Sprakles? Because That and the mythical dragon are the only ones currently missing in my collection.
I would like to participate in the tournament, but i dont know enough people who would be willing to participate. And even if i did, that wouldnt guarantee that id get the Mini seeing how i would have to win the first match.
There is also the fact that the tournament is limited to 128 teams and by the time i actually find a team to participate that cap will most likely have been reached.
I am not saying its bad to have exclusive rewards for the tournament, but what i have gathered from the other topic is that this not only upsets the other Minipet collectors like myself, but also the people who primarily play PvP because they find a mini unrewarding.
I just think it is not a good decision to make something this limited and exclusive while letting it have a tormenting empty slot in the minipet tab for all eternity without ever having the chance to fill it. I am aware most people would consider this silly, but please accept that, while a lot of you enjoy collecting legendary weapons, play PvP or WvW, I enjoy collecting miniatures and aim for a full collection in the long run.
I hope this one doesnt get closed and anet actually takes this into consideration.

The difference has been pointed out before. WvW is not capped on how many can participate in it. What if AN said only the top three servers in EU and NA were able to get these rewards, not top three brackets but only top three servers and no transfers are allowed. Even then this player pool is much larger than that allow in the TOL.
It is only open to a limited crowd. So even if you like sPVP you aren’t likely to simple qualify to get into TOL. This is how it should be but it makes the item in question, (a collectable item) very limited.
Just do the tournament if you want an exclusive mini so badly. I mean we are talking about a mini here………..
Don’t devalue the prize because it’s not important to you.

The only thing that you responded with that made sense was the first paragraph. Yes the limit on the tourney is an issue, but that is ofc entirely ANET and blu’s fault with how they allow teams to entire. If there had been a league/good mmr system/better leaderboards……this issue could be avoided entirely.
As for the other bit, a pvp tournament to award pvp players with a mini as an award, is the biggest slap in the face. And yes I speak for all the competitive pvp players. Anet knows that and that is why they wish to use mini’s or PvE items as a way to attract those who PvE/WvW. They have lost their PvP completely in a year which is quite sad. So this mini is unimportant to me yes, but also to everyone else who PvP competitively for quite some time. This to is supposed to rewards those compete at a high level and I know for a fact a mini is just lol.
As for when I said as a winner of the tourney, I said that because I am trying to speak on behalf of the competetive community as to what will help ANET open their eyes for the pvp competitive scene in the long run in terms of what items they should develop and reward. As far as all the people QQing about not being able to obtain the mini, tell ANET to give us a better leaderboard/league/MMR system.
And for what I about the tourney not being run to its full capability because of BLU, I know this is fact and its not subjective. I am not going to argue with you there because you simply know nothing when it comes to that.
The thing is, i fear pointing a better system out to them would go just as ignored as the megaserver feedback topic, or any other feedback topic for that matter, really.
But that is just the thing.
If they post and tell us that they are still working on it people will complain about them not telling us anything.And if they don’t, people complain about them not posting.
What is the point of posting until they have changed their position (which right now is working on it)?
I d rather have them keep us updated even if the progress is slow rather than giving us the silent treatment like this and making it seem like they dont really care. I am still hating on that horrendous chat filter that hasnt been adapted to make sense to this day.

Not even a title or exclusive finisher. This is why a lot of us are taking our leave with GW2 because this mini is almost a tease and just a mere mockery to all of us PvP’rs over the last years. And who knows, the mini will probably be on the gemstore, but after the tourney this time. Whether of not we participate in this tourney again just to win free legends again is in the air, but this sad little attempt to attract players is abysmal at most.
exclusive wvw skins, yes. but if i wanted one of them, i could just do the meta achievement whenever i wanted to in that 3 months time span, and the skins will be reavailable by the look of it through out future wvw tournaments.
that is on a whole different scale than having something that only is available for 128 × 5 people on a single weekend.

You’re thinking of the mini dolyak. It was one of the rewards from the first WvW Tournament and has been confirmed to be one again this time. There was no mention of the mini llama being given out for WvW, in fact until this announcement there was no mention that the mini llama even existed.
And no, not all the special minis have been re-released. For a start the 4 Wintersday Box minis (festive golem, snowman, Infiniarium and Foostivoo the Merry) have never been available outside of Wintersday 2012, when they were only obtainable from an RNG box (which was also a terrible idea).
I don’t think the original Halloween set (ghost, skeleton and spider, forged to make Chainsaw the skeleton) were ever re-released either but I’m not 100% sure.
I believe the mini is intended to draw more people into trying pvp. Nothing more, nothing less.
If that’s the case putting it at the end of a reward track would make much more sense. Going straight from never having done PvP before to entering a tournament seems a bit extreme. Unless I’ve completely misunderstood and tournaments are supposed to be for brand new players who then go on to play hot-join when they get really good?

I’ve been complaining that it’s ridiculous to give out a mini as a reward for PvP (because it is) and also talking to my friends about forming a team. I’ve never played PvP before and I’m pretty sure I’m going to be a free win for whoever I’m up against, but I guess a tournament full of complete amateurs is the new strategy to get this game taken seriously as an E-sport.

I find it odd that those who support this “exclusive” reward are people who dont even collect minis themselves, and hence dont seem to understand what it feels like for us who do, or maybe they just dont want to understand, i dont know. All this comes across as is on the level of “haha you cant have the shiny stop whining”. A collectible should never be that near impossible to actually achieve, seeing how it is limited to, at best, 640 Mini Llamas total, or more realistically, a mere 40. One or the other per X Million players. that is far from fair.
Exclusive Minipet….why A-net? why do you seem to refuse to learn from your past mistakes? You know exactly what happened when Mr. Sparkles was added as an exclusive, and now you just go and do it again. What do you expect to change? Yes, it isnt a reallife event this time around, but is a tournament that is limited to 128 TEAMS, meaning 640 of Minis IF each participating team is assured to get one. If only the ones making it through to the championship get it, that being 2 teams per qualifier and 4 qualifiers total, that will be 8 teams and only 40 MINIS. 40, in a community of millions. why would you think that is a good idea? After the Mr. Sparkles disaster, why wouldnt you be a bit more specific with the info when announcing it to the public? it could spare us all a lot of chaos if you thought that through properly beforehand. why does it always have to be exclusive minis? why not something else? And what about that Mystical Dragon Mini? is that China exclusive? is that going to be added once Living World Season 2 hits? why arent we simply being told these things?
I know, those are a lot of questions, but as a collector myself who is only missing said dragon in his collecting of a sopping 256 minis right now, I certainly wouldnt want it all spoiled by a probably unachieveable exclusive Mini now.

and then there is the thing that invisibility messes up when you were cloaked underwater and then get onto land. you still have the invisible skill icon, but you can see yourself. it is really iritating how they dont seem to fix those things.
That isn’t a serious issue, as it only affects yourself, and not how others see you. (Also, this happens if you are stealthed via another skill, say Mass Invis.
It is still annoying and sometimes confusing aswell. It also happens if you are invisible and use skill 2 while downed. It is still a bug.
And on the topic of Mass Invis :
yeah, that happened to me before too. No idea why one would need 2 different buffs for invisibility, only to have the one that ends first mess up the invisibility effect for the player. I am guessing it was done so the two skills dont stack (not like a mere 3 seconds would do much harm there), but them to cancel each other out on the respective players screen is poor design.

except you are wrong. it is bugged. Thats why i got the achievement in my tab with the wrong Ranking, and no Chest. If alot of people get it at the same time and another bunch of people still dont have it now, it clearly is broken.
This has been bugged an unplayable for the last 6 months or even longer. Are you ever actually going to fix it? Each note takes way too long when you play it, atleast 5 seconds or so before you can play another. It ruins the whole purpose of the Organ…

seems like my decoder/encoder is working correctly, but the item_id is missing from both the items and item_details api. this seems to be the case for all norn cultural armors, and probably a bunch of other items.
I would appreciate it if a dev could look into it.

could you tell me if the chat code in my first post is correct? I grabbed it off of the wiki assuming it is correct, and the id is what i got when i decoded it. however, when encoding the correct id 6048, i get [&AgGgFwAA]. I currently cant test if thats right or wrong, though.

if i am not mistaken, worlds marked with [D] are the ones PvP and WvW are running on, which arent affected by the megaserver system. We shouldnt get those, though.
Could it be that all of the Norn Cultural Armors are missing in both the items.json and the item_details.json?
If my code isnt wrong, by reverse-looking up the chat code [&AgHQDgAA] for the T3 heavy chest piece, it should have the item_id 3792, but that doesnt seem to exist.
Same is the case for other pieces. Human Cultural worked like a charm, though.

well, you cant get past something nobody is even sure of if it even exists, can you. No offense to a-net, but working in IT myself I find it questionable that so many things make it onto the live server when they are bugged as hell.
going by the item_details api, items have a list of game_types (pve, pvp, pvp-lobby etc.) where they can be used in. By the look of it, that tonic doesnt have the pvp-lobby game_type enabled. I noticed the same with the Unbreakable Choir Bell being the only instrument you cant use in the Heart of the Mists, all of the others are fair game, though.
sometimes when an arena is empty and there is no boss in it, there is an AOE circle randomly popping up for no reason. I dont think that has anything to do with what happened to you though, since i doubt that the circle would be big enough to hit your entire group, let alone that it is a shadowfall attack.
that happens because it filters by the language of client the player is using and not by their actual language of choice. Alot of players prefer the english client, or simply, they do not have a localisation for their own country, and thats why you see that.
I reported that issue before, by they didnt bother to do anything about it.
the same was possible with npcs in wvw roughly a year ago before they fixed that. Why they would repeat that same mistake, I do not know, but yes, that is an exploit.

How exactly would you organize with that lovely chat filter still there and enabled by default? I dont get why that still hasnt been removed or atleast adjusted :/ I play with german players but use the english client, and by the logic of that filter, i cant have both at the same time. It makes organisation impossible because people simply cant hear you, and if they do, they probably ignore you anyways, but still.

it is not a major bug, but something that bothers me because there is no integrity with the achievement names for the 3 miniature sets.
the first two are named:
Miniature Collection-Set I
Miniature Collection-Set II
the newest one, however, is named:
Miniatures Set III
i would like this to be fixed, even if it isnt very important, but i think its an easy fix to do.

There was a word, you just missed it. I can’t find you the quote right now but a dev said in Septempter-October -ish that out of all the planned features precursor crafting is the least likely to make it by the end of 2013. I’ll post the quote if I manage to find it.
that is, sadly, another example of their boasting and naturally hyping everything beyond infinity, and when the time comes to keep their promises and actually deliver, alot of stuff just falls through and is never heard of again. Doesnt make it better they have done that time and time again now and each time the release linked tot he boasting and hyping was a catastrophical disaster and bug fest, some of which still reside in the game to this day and are simply being left that way, it would seem.
“bla bla, spending all our resources on china release, bla bla, deal with it.” to sum it up i guess. game is getting rather boring with literally no content coming in for ages now, the mega server messing up everything that did work before and doesnt now, and bug fixes are nowhere in sight.
Everytime i login or simply change my character, my inventory changes its size. I normally have it set to 15 slots per row, but when i log in, it always sizes down to 14. that only started happening after one of the recent updates, though.
Its not a major thing, but it gets annoying if you have it set up like that for a reason and it keeps messing that up.
Why can’t you communicate with the German community, you know there’s an option to not exclude non english language from the chat (on the top left of the chat channel in options).
because that only changes that I can see what they say. they still wont see what i say though. turning that option on or off only works one way, not both ways.

As of right now, the chat filter is not working in a way that is actually useful or purposeful. For the most part, it is actually a really big hindrance.
My reasons why i say that are:
1. It does not take people who speak more than one language into consideration.
I, for example, speak both german and english. Right now, i only have the option to speak to either german or english people at one given time. Yes, I can turn off the filter on my end, but that wont magically make everyone else who has it turned on by default see what i am writing. I would have to manually change my client language to be able to speak to people of a different language base.
2. It does not take people who use a different client language than their native language into consideration.
Again using myself for example, I use the english client language, but i play with a german community. To actually communicate with my community in map chat, I have to manually change my client language because its likely that they have the filter turned on by default. I, however, prefer the english client simply because I play all games in english, because the localized translations and synchronisations tend to be quite subpar compared to the original. In this case, the filter effectively limits how I want and can play the game.
3. It limits and potentially cripples communication and organisation in situations where you have people of multiple language bases present.
I know this problem has been fixed for the Edge of the Mist maps, but i am not sure why this wasnt also implemented on maps or during the times where World Boss events are going on. You effectively designed Tequatl and the three headed Worm so that it would require alot of organisation to complete the event. The filter makes that almost impossible though because you cant organize past your set client language.
My suggestion is that the filter is changed from using a static value like the client language, and instead give us a proper option menu that lets us pick which languages we want to see. this could be done by simply giving us checkboxes, so i could, for example, pick german and english because i speak those languages.
Another option would be to change the megaserver system slight so that it properly prioritizes on putting people of the same language base on the same map which would make it so we dont need the filter anymore to begin with, then again, i am not sure if that is how it is intended to be anyways, but thats what i got from the blog post. It would also make more sense than the current implementation because it doesnt tear previous, server/language based communities apart anymore.
I would like more player feedback on my idea, if possible. Also, i will add more ideas to the post if i can think of any.

it has been a week now, and the chat filter still hasnt been fixed in the slightest.
The issue that i cant communicate with people from my german community because i prefer to use the english client still exists. temporary setting it to german is only a workaround, and its an inconvenience because it means i cant play the game the way i want to play it. I dislike the german translation. infact, i play most games in english because it tends to be alot better than the resynched, translated stuff.
Could you atleast add actual language options to the filter so that i can pick what i want to see, instead of hardcoding it by client language?
Surely, I hope you see how this is kind of flawed design and that the border-cases, like myself, should have probably been taken into consideration. Think of the people who speak more than one language. they are currently completely ignored by how the filter and hindered in how they want and can play the game.
Before anyone posts it: no, deactivating the filter for myself wont solve the problem. It will only allow me to see everything in chat, it however wont allow me to talk to everyone, on the other hand though. Just putting this here because this had been falsely suggested to me one too many times already.

I personally think that the selection criteria is broken somehow because I have not actually seen it in effect at all.
Basically what they said would happen and what is happening is not the same thing at all.
What I am very afraid of is that the Megaserver only aggregates gameplay data after implementation- this says to me it will never be fixed.
Certainly they should have waited and fixed the issues before rolling it out across all maps.
That just feels really shortsighted and not considering of the players at all.It could be broken…

It could work in small scale, but craps out at the larger scale…
It might not have enough data collected yet (only been a week after all)…
It’s hard to tell, but you’re correct that they probably shouldn’t have pushed it to all maps yet. Unless, they needed to do it for the data aggregation, which is a possibility.
If it just needs to collect more data, I’m not too worried about it, eventually it will have what it needs. It might just take more than a week.
it should be in a semi-working state upon release, then i would take “it has to collect more data” for an excuse. But the way it feels now, it doesnt seem to be working at all. Not a good idea to push out something that doesnt exactly work 90% of the time either way.
