Signups are filling now, We have a shoutcast team ready for thursday and two shoutcasting teams ready for Saturday!!

We also now have a second arena thanks to tehMaker, who will be joining us during the event on the warrior team.

ya it can be a really difficult start, it takes a good group of players to help you out a lot of the time, PEELS!! :P Build wise I really encourage people to ask some of the top pvp necromancers for builds or opinions. We are usually pretty friendly and will respond quickly (unless we are in a tournament). If anyone has any questions about condition builds in tpvp feel free to pm me in game

This is the truth of the matter, and one of the reasons I need to get Gibbly on the Necromancer Podcast.

Positioning and teamwork is essential to play as a Necromancer in tournaments. We are like the warrior except with range and better control.

Khadorian, Necromancers are infact weak in comparison to the capabilities of other classes in PvP.

This is not even close to a fact. If you are referencing dueling capabilities than yes, but in tournament games the Necromancer is ridiculously powerful. Granted the Elementalist and Engineer are the top notch in terms of condition damage and control, but the Necro is the king of team pvp. We own Guardians, and can handle any bunker ele out there.

The thought that we are weak is shortsighted and based on what team experience exactly? What high end tournament players have you talked to? What is yoru current ranking that gives you the ability to make that judgement?

I can guarantee you that based on talking to the top 3-4 Necromancers on both sides of the pond, and some of the top tournament players regardless of profession that the Necromancer is borderline OP in a team fight. They are always found, targeted, and attempted to be controlled because a good one will trainwreck any plans you might have.

Their biggest and only weakness is a lack of mobility either to chase, move to a new point, or simply escape. Their strengths are enough where they every top player keeps a Necro alt to swap to depending on team makeup.

I updated the information so people know how the event will work

SOAC is hosting the profession specific tournaments once again! Except with an awesome twist. This time it’s profession vs. profession. So grab your ranger/guardian/warrior/Necromancer/mesmer/elementalist/thief and show the reason why your profession is number 1.

The event is being held on May 9th at 5:30pm PST/GMT-8 with with a follow up on Saturday May 11th at 10am PST/GMT-8. The event will be shoutcasted and live streamed. Here is the breakdown for everyone.

Two Custom Arenas will be setup for the event and password protected to keep random players joining during the event. For each Arena we will have a set shoutcasting team and stream.

1) There will be a live stream and shoutcast for each arena.

2) The Matchups will be random and posted on the day of the event.

3) We will use a bracket style matchup with a best of 3 winner moving on.

4) The teams that lose their best of three will move on to a best of 3 matchups with other professions that have lost.

There are several things we are still in need of to pull off this event perfectly. If you can help in any way please let me know!

1) A second or third custom arena – This is important to help speed the event along.

2) Shoutcasters – if you want to practice your craft please let us know.

How long is the tournament? Also, NERF is a guild of ONLY engineers. I always recommend them. They are mostly on Fort Aspenwood. I wouldn’t mind joining if it won’t take more than 45 min – 1hr.

It depends on how many custom arenas we can get the use of, I believe we may have two. If this is the case, than about an hour or two would be correct. Our goal is to pit profession vs. profession with the other groups tournament queuing.

If you can only do 1 hour, than that’s fine.

Also how do I get ahold of the guys from NERF? I have the Mesmer only guild, and Necro only guild leaders contact info.

I remember fighting you guys. I was the mesmer whose illusionary sword attack did 23k damage . Phantasm build though, not shatter as you said.

I also recognized Nemesis though I didn’t expect him to play the minion build!
