Bhawb is putting up the Necromancer videos and then we will link to them as well.

Signet improvements – Buffing the passive is not the answer. The signets are the issue, this general buff while it continues to improve the value of Signet of Undeath, the rest of them are still not worth taking.

Corrupt Boon and Epidemic Unblockable – Already knew about this. They need to fix the issue where the LoS is foot to foot which means if there is a slight change is a major issue.

Minion Health – As for the notes, the fact that they specified their intention to give Flesh Wurm and Flesh Golem improved health scares me a bit. They are the two no one worries about in terms of health. Wurm does not need more health since we mainly use him as a stun breaker in pvp and out of range bomber in pve. It’s the other minions that need more help. Continuing improvement to AI changes is nice

Full DS – 5th Slot If it’s not weapon dependent it is still going to make death shroud kind of an odd duck.

Sad that they completely misunderstood Symbolic’s question about Staff. When a trait is mandatory for one form of play than it’s a trait that needs to be looked at.

Several things that bothered me – No mention of extended cast times on 90 percent of our abilities, no mention of aoe damage completely trainwrecking minions (Symbolic way to let me down man :P), no mention of the complete useless Spectral skills, no mention of the fact that Blood Magic is similar to Zeal in the Guardian line where it’s almost worthless to take it. We also missed a great opportunity for them to explain why our Death Shroud abilities are counter to each other.

TLDR: They buffed the Minions we didn’t need buffed, Death Shroud is getting a new skill, but we have no idea what it is or how to make it, CB and Epi are now fixed, Signet improvements aren’t an improvement if the cast time/cooldown/and actives are still bad, Avoided talking about any of our major issues such as mobility/aoe death of minions/Death Shroud information/Spectral uselessness/Blood Magic worthless.

Considering how terrible my gameplay was, I think I’ll do a “this is what I did wrong” video. You people know I love pointing out mistakes and mine are no exception.

The only excuse I have is the late-ish time; my amazing skills degrade rapidly after 9pm :P

It’s okay most guys only stayed about an hour, but it did seem the Guardians were having a rough go at keeping a team for more than 2 hours. Next time we hope to get a few more players so we can do it without all the headaches.

I wouldn’t worry about bit rate or resolution. I think I am going to try my hand at video editing next week, and work on clipping and cutting it all together. We have one of the audio already. So we will just clip all the videos together and then run the single audio under it all. If one of the guys wants to run the full unedited version on a different channel they are free to do so :P.

I think Acandis is sleeping this week :P, let me encourage everyone to listen to the podcast, and leave your input on ways we can improve.

The event went off really well. We had a full ranger, necro, elementalist, guardian, Warrior, and mesmer team. No engineers were present, and unfortunately for Grimwolf only 2 thieves signed up.

Almost everyone played 4 to 6 games.

Warriors won 4 out 5 before retiring for the night
Guardians had a ton of trouble maintaining a team and lost all 3 matches
Elementalist had a bit of trouble thanks to my noob skills and won only 1 out of 5 games.
Mesmer’s won 1 out of 5 as well (too many new players :P)
Rangers won 2 out of 4.
Necro’s are still going as I am speaking and have currently won 3 out of 6.

Despite the losses everyone had a great time and it was a fun event! Videos will be posted at youtube/user/SOACGaming next week.

Could you explain more what exactly is the event.

The idea is to have every single profession represented by a tournament team. We will then have a general meet and greet at a single server, and take a group picture while we all gather on the SOAC gaming mumble. Once we are all on, I will start our general recording from my side, go through some brief introductions, and then each class will be free to use their own vent/ts/mumble or use one of our channels.

Once the teams are setup they will each have their own recording of the event going on depending on who is recording, they will talk strategy, gameplay, specs, and then queue up for a tournament.

All 8 teams will be queuing up around the same time. So sometimes the thief team will run into the Warrior team, and then next game they may run into 5 solo queuers or an organized team by team Hate. Hopefully each team will be able tog et 5-10 games in during the period.

Our goal is to reintroduce tournaments and just have a fun time while learning more about each class.

After the event, all the videos will be sent to myself and then posted on our youtube channel, and we will also have several players who will be streaming or uploading it onto their youtube.

Maybe eles are reluctant to participate in this tournament because it may stir up the tPvP community about the “all-ele team” meta :p. I’m very curious to see if it’s actually true!

You shouldn’t dog on that Ele. That is a staff ele built for zergging, of course he is going to run away from you when you are built for minion brawling. He would be crazy not to run away. I would be amazed if even a superb ele could beat you in that build with a staff build. His only mistake was coming back.

Nice video, but I hate so much that the effectiveness of that build drops off drastically around incedental AOE, and I think the flesh golem attacked maybe 10 times in the entire 10 minute video.

The meta-game (if you don’t mind the overused word) in roaming in WvW now is PVT, and this build is very strong against low numbers in PVT gear. High regen and life steal from the minions is really only going to have problems with lots of burst, where you don’t have the opportunity to regenerate. I would venture a burst character that knew what he was doing (like a shatter mesmer or thief) would have a field day with you in this build.

Not a dig at the build or the player, as it was a good video, just a personal gripe about minions in WvW and the concept of attrition as defined by face-tanking.

This is 100 percent correct! Smart burst players gather the minions and two shot them. A really good thief will kite away the minions vanish move in close and shoot you down.

We are running 5 man tourney teams of each profession. You can pick your favorite profession and run with 4 other guys of your same profession.

Essentially we will run all the teams at aroudn the same time queuing up and then seeing if we run into each other or a bunch of solo queuers and so on.

You forgot to mention how often you used the Immobilize on your Bone Fiend. Rather how often you tried to use the Immobilize on your Bone Fiend, it went on Cooldown, and nothing happened.

My personal favorite part is me trying to use my Bone Fiends Explosion, and it not landing most of the time because they’re not actually near the target.

Thing is I want to use it as much as possible cause they almost instantly die anyway.

I didn’t notice this most of the time until I traited Death Nova. The fact that there’s 2 minions up makes it even harder because of how often one minion would be in melee, I’d hit the button, and it’d blow up the other minion that was hiding behind me for some reason.

I haven’t watched the video, but will take a look at it later. What I do in tournaments and wvwvw when playing with Minions is kite people into my Bone Minions before explosion.

Because of all the crappy pathing in WvWvW you see all sorts of funky things happening to the bone minions. I had one that blew up 10 feet behind me and the guy I was fighting was 200 feet in front of me.

It’s one of the reasons I dont’ ever use Minions in WvWvW. As for his use of immobilize the ability is easily avoided, blocked, or out of range.

I am working with Andele on doing more Dungeons, Fractals, and so on, but it take a lot of coordination.

Edit2: sooo, mumble is pretty stellar. Point mumble audio to headphones, record mumble session, msiafterburner record screen and speakers. Everything is covered.

If you don’t have fraps, this is the best method. Mumble has pretty incredible recording it’s the reason we use it for the podcasts.

What I have done in the past before getting fraps is record mumble and then record video separately than edit them together with video pad editor ;p. I have only found fraps to work perfectly for recording everything I am trying to do.
