Come on people don’t make me represent the Ele community again. It was brutal last time :P.
Wow, not one question or sign up from the bunker boys!
Great to see some action on the Engineer side. I think 5 engineers would be serious trouble for any profession.
Great to see all the sign ups already. I think Kylia is venturing on coming again, but he wants to bring his full mesmer contingent from AVTR :P. I haven’t had any confirmation yet though.
This week in the Guardian World of Guild Wars 2 our fearless Consecrated podcasters bring in Silven to talk about all things Guardian PvP. Silven is currently on the hunt for a regular NA team as he has been overseas for the time being, but his knowledge of the guardian in tournament play is still fearless. So if you are looking for a great Guardian teammate, shoot us an email and we will try to get it to Silven. Beard and Danto quizzed him on gameplay, strategies, builds, weapons, and all the other fun things that you can do as a Guardian. He explains the difference between EU and NA guardian play, and was a fantastic podcast guest.

Some podcast name ideas that fit the warrior’s current state: ‘Conditioned’ , ‘Unsustainable’, ‘Hamstrung’, ‘The predictable’, ‘Paper Berserker’.
haha! My favorite was the SOTG claim that they wanted warriors to choose between high damage and high control, and have their team make up the difference. The problem was warriors didn’t have either :P. I haven’t seen or read up on all the warrior changes, but it would take some serious work to get the warrior competitive again.
IGN: Yski Deathleaf
Day Available: Saturday – Thursday would be 4.30 am Friday for me (assuming I didn’t fail basic addition again) and school starts at 8.00 am!
Record Capability: Awesome!
EU or NA: EU
EU will be on at a totally different time that works for you guys. I am just putting one sign up since it’s both sides.
We have a week until this goes so it’s going so make plans ahead of time. :P
And??
I don’t see how “I don’t play high end tournaments” at all relates to any contradiction between me saying “rangers have to run stalling and/or small scale skirmishing setups which means the game is going to be ranger backcapping and necro zerging” and you saying “BM rangers are the most popular ranger spec in the (at least EU) meta right now”
…Am I missing something or does that seriously make no sense???
You are correct. It’s me who is missing something, I mixed you and Ryu’s trap comments into one. I apologize. However as a counter I do believe ranger team last Time went with a unique setup. 1 Bunker BM, 1 Offensive BM, 2 Trap Rangers, and one Condition SB Ranger. They started off playing the way you said, and it went very poorly than they swapped up and filled different roles and did a great job.
So there are no Power builds or beastmaster rangers ;P
You don’t know the class well do you?
No matter how they spec, ranger’s fill roughly 1~ role in TPvP and that’s stalling and small scale skirmishing… an utterly terrible class to make a team of.It’d just be a game of necro zerging and ranger attempted backcapping.
Don’t see anything interesting in that. It’s just for fun…
Does this mean we might see a CHOPPS appearance?
I believe tehMaker is back on board again, but I will verify
It’s just for fun…
???
Sure.
That’s why we all play this game.Explaining why something seems like a meh setup for a tourny in my eyes doesn’t mean that the purpose of it wasn’t to have fun… ???
Apparently you don’t play high end tournaments or watch any EU teams play. All the Rangers at the highend are BM bunkers it’s ridiculous. Trap rangers are easy to kill and counter. Bunker BM rangers are ridiculous right now.
I’m waiting to hear back from you. =)
Check your email mate. I sent it a few times I will pm you our reply here as well. I appreciate your persistence.
Sittingonacouch.com is looking to continue to expand it’s already awesome selection of Guild Wars 2 podcasts. We host several amazing podcasts currently. But of Corpse, Consecrated, Arrow to the Knee, Mesmerized, EU Tournament Update, NA Tournament update, and soon the Weekly Team Spotlight.
Currently we are working on our profession specific podcasts, and in that vein we are looking for a player who mains or loves to main their Warrior. You may not have all the knowledge or all the skills, but if you love to talk about the class and want to help players find the right information than you may be the man or woman for the job.
One of the keys to a good podcaster is being able to get your guests to really talk about the class. The Warrior focused podcast is going to cover all facets of the game, and while the hosts doesn’t have to be an expert. He must have a general knowledge of the class and skills and be able to convey his point well while allowing others to cover some of the other areas. Some of the awesome Warrior players who are waiting for the podcast to start to be guests are Hman, tehMaker, and several other of your favorite Warrior tournament, wvwvw, and dungeon players.

We have talked with many of the top tournament Engineers, and most of them don’t have the time nor feel that they have the proper temperment to handle a podcast regularly. They would love to be a guest, but hosting requires someone who will allow guests to have an opinion different from theirs from time to time, and as Five Gauge replied to me about the Engineer, “I wouldn’t have anything to say beyond, it’s fine stop complaining. This is broken stop using it until it’s fixed.”

Saturday I’ll be open any time after the SOAC event is over.
The event is next Saturday not this one :P May 11th not May4th. I am not scheduling anything near my birthday.
YES IT"S MY BIRTHDAY ON THURSDAY!!! :P
Hey bas dragon here! i would love to join in again. I also have my Server up and running so we could have a place to do it if we wanted to have teams going against each other outside of tournies.
You have a custom arena too? haha So do I :P. This is awesome we can run two professions at once then, and get shoutcasting going for each if we can get all the kinks worked out.
Let’s get some more ele signups and feedback. I think it would be best for everyone if I don’t play an ele :P.
Come on Engineers let’s get some feedback and signups :P. This event is a blast, and we have yet to field an engineer team.
Great signup responses as always. We are going to do multiple versions of this, from gimmicky specs fights to standard tournament queueing or working on ways to counter the other professions.
I think a lot of us are holding back on this, Bas. I know I am because I know how Necromancers work. Any condition I throw at them they can either throw right back at me or convert to boons. And considering pretty much every Ranger weapon has conditions on them…yeah, they’re our natural counter class.
So there are no Power builds or beastmaster rangers ;P. I think you are over thinking it. We will give everyone a chance to take on everyone. So you may lose to one profession, but dominate the others. We are probably going to have both running so guys don’t end up just standing around waiting. So while two teams are in the tournament fighting each other, the rest will be queueing for tournaments or settling on some fun setups
Such as 5 Rangers with Spirit pets face off against 5 Guardians with Spirit weapons, We will do a battle of the utility pets ;P.
I am still waiting on that video Thor :P. Great work with the signups as always Necromancers.
I am going to grab a warrior or guardian buddy of mine and do some tests on this. This would be a very bad setup if it isn’t working.
@kardiamond,
I was not ridiculing his opinion. Xsorus is a good gaming friend of mine. I was having a pointed discussion with him in regards to the method he delivered that opinion. Delivery not the opinion is the issue. I completely respect his ranger opinions, and have spent a few hours talking with him about pet ai, utility skills, and necromancers. He was one of my top choices for Ranger podcaster.
1000 hours of gameplay = a better grasp of some concepts than a 100 hours. It gives you a larger grouping of gameplay to look at and go hmmm, this and this is the best way to improve it. I will grant you that I know a few 1000 hour Necros that still don’t understand Death Shroud :P so it doesn’t always factor in, but in terms of saying this always happens time played absolutely factors in.
Finally, I am fine with people pointing out issues with minions, but let us restate it. Minion AI is okay, not perfect but okay. The issues xsorus is pointing out are pathing issues, and have nothing to do with the actual AI of the game.

The Rangers did great last time. Let’s get some signups guys!
Love all the podcasts your website puts out Bas.
Gotta fix Batosai’s internet connection, then again after he was DCed from skype and raidcall etc it was fine for the rest of the show.
Hopefully you can get a Thief show going at some point.
Thank you! A lot of the EU guys end up with massive spikes in their mumble connection, and I think Danto from the Guardian side handles it by turning everything but the podcast off until it’s over. I don’t ask guys to do that, but it’s something that I am sure he is aware of :P.
As for the Thief show, we are working on getting all the professions setup with their own podcast. It’s a slow process because I like to focus on getting my podcasters comfortable with doing everything themselves before I move on to the next profession (generally there is an email that says, your awesome Bas, but we can handle this). I don’t really know a lot of thieves either so our podcasters come from applicants and people who I have met or been referred too.
I think we have the Warrior and maybe the Engineer one starting next month. I will start working on getting the Thief and Elementalist next.
Thank you for the encouragement!
I notice many people think that there is “i” xDD
I am absolutely aware of that now haha! I will leave it up so your comments don’t look odd. The funny part is I believe I mentioned to the ranger podcasters about the fact that there is no i than proceeded to put the i in everything.
“Arenanet liked our event so much they allowed us access to a custom arena to host another events.”
Lol and then their head disappeared so far up their own kitten it was never seen again.
Your point is noted and yet I have no idea what your point was.
For the rest of you thieves, let’s get some signups going!

I know many of you want us to list builds, and strategies, but as of right now many players move their builds so much that getting them to lockdown a build they want to share isn’t always easy. However, send in your emails so we can continue to answer the questions you want and need. We will continue to work on bringing screen shots of the guests play, and all the other goodies that you are looking for. Keep chasing us down and giving us advice and criticisms.

5 /well known/ good guardians please.
I can only take who will sign up. This is an open event ;p.
tired of: whats better videos when I see the pvpers not traited properly.
We can only do what we can. In fact, I believe we ask for people to give tips and tricks for the players who do participate. We do have podcasts that are designed to help players, but this is a fun event.
(edited by Bas.7406)
So, is it always profession vs profession?
Currently that’s what we are setting up. Eventually we may setup and feature team matches, but there are about a dozen guys doing that currently
few suggestions,
while this does indeed sound fun to play in, it’s boring as hell to watch.
i skipped through some of the all ele and necro matches you have up, and it’s not fun watching a terrible player (no offense to the ele) play tpvp
perhaps get highly ranked or very skilled players to play, or once custom arena’s come up, organize some all 1 class matches in 5v5 up to 8v8 deathmatch.
i think seeing a 5v5 with 20 mesmers/illusions against 5 minionmancers would be pretty entertaining, though onesided.
or 5v5 spirit weapon guardians vs spirit rangers,
you get the idea.
We have a custom arena and this will all be part of this event ;p. So it’s going to be 5 on 5 profession versus profession.
I completely agree with your point on getting some of the best. Unfortunately, they rarely sign up to do anything outside their comfort zone.
As for the horrible ele play, that was me, and I agree it was just awful. Then again, I mainly play Necromancer and Ranger ;p.
I think I had 3 thieves two days after Grim that emailed me and said did I miss it?
5 /well known/ good guardians please.
I can only take who will sign up. This is an open event ;p.
You know it
Either day works
Yep. If we’re lucky I’ll even have the old footage up by then
NA
haha, bhawb, I may need you or one of the other guys to captain the weekend event since I am usually out of town.
On April 25th we hosted one of the most amazing events in Guild Wars 2 the Tournament Extravaganza. Watch it here! And we are doing it again!
If we have enough signups we will host both a Weekend and Weekday event. This time we have a custom arena to host what can only be described as a knockdown slugfest designed to prove your profession is the top. Last Event saw 30 players take part, this month we are hoping for more.
Arenanet liked our event so much they allowed us access to a custom arena to host another events. We are excited about the many different possibilities we can take part in.
We are also looking to get a shoutcasting team setup to stream and shoutcast the event.
Time: Thursday May 9th at 5:30pm PST/GMT-8 and Saturday 10am PST/GMT-8
Plan: 5 [insert profession] face off against 5 [insert profession]
Reward: We will bring you onto a special podcast (it’s not much ;p but who doesn’t like free pub) or stream to talk about How Awesome You Are!

Cool. But the name makes me cringe.
I like the name, it reminds me of the Crippling Shot skill description way back in beta… I miss that description…
Thanks for being on the show. Any feedback on ways to improve or things we should talk about would be awesome!
don’t really have issues with my Pet not being able to get to and away from a target (unless he gets rooted) he certainly doesn’t moon walk in place like the Flesh Golem does.
Spirits are awful though, but that’s less to do with Pathing Issues (they don’t have any Issues) and more to them being just awful.
and My videos weren’t meant to be a Humorous take on Minions in WvW (though Scarecrow Army kind of is)…
I don’t find how minions are in World vs World humorous at all.
I agree, but it’s not a minion issue as it is a pathing issue. Which has a lot to do with the way things are coded in wvwvw. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen abilities or Dark Grasp completely screw up due to unseen pathing issues.
SOAC is setting up a twitch? Sweet. And we need more people guys, if it means anything, you’ll get to play with me (woo!).
Yeah, I will get you the info on it so you and the guys can stream events and if you want to do an instructional stream or we may move the podcasts to that format so we can play with the guest while doing the podcast. Not sure yet!
I am just trying to figure out which one of the streaming options are best, and how to set it up so you or one of the other podcast teams can use it.
