yh i think they disabled W4
Tried that…
This must be one of the worst posts in this thread. You tried VG on the very first week it came out, when noone had any idea of composition and tactics and you thought it was annoying it was difficult? Well obviously it’s gonna be difficult then isn’kitten
Secondly, if you hate dieing and wiping and spending a long time on a boss to progress, raiding will never be content truly for you and no training mode is ever going to change that. Having to try again and again and not be afraid to fail is a necessity for raid. Getting ascended trinkets and weapons is pretty easy and exo armor is fine, for beginners aswell.
Guild wars 2 has almost no gear grind, ascended is easy to get and its the top level. Every game forces you to progress skills or gear a tiny bit. You can jump in to GW2 and have fun without a gear grind, raids just ask for a bit more planning. 1% of the game requires this, where 99% of the game you can wear whatever you want. So saying how GW2 betrayed it’s promises and “you cant go in the game and just have fun anymore” is crazy.
Your last words about how PvP and AB multiloot are gear grinds just makes no sense. You literally can use white gear to play PvP? The fact that you can get nice rewards but have to play a fair bit for it isn’t a grind, it’s common sense. AB multiloot is a farm, noone forces you to do it. Your entire post is just crazy.
Kudos man, seems you have the right attitude. Good for you to overcome your shyness and give it a go. All the best of luck.
People will often list “cleared wing, come in and explore” in the raid LFG. You can just join those parties and get in. If they don’t make an LFG there yourself asking for a cleared wing and I imagine people respond fairly quickly (i always try to when i see such a request).
You’ll join a Commander’s squad and then you’ll be able to enter the raid via the Lions Arch Aerodrome. Like with dungeons, a popup appears to enter. The owner doesn’t need to stay in the raid, once you are in the raid. He can leave and you are free to explore on your own.
A tip i’d also give you is to check out Woodenpotatoes vids on the story of the raids. That combined with some exploration inside the raids gives a nice overview of the story of them.
LI arent’ meaningless. They don’t mean everything but saying they mean nothing is just as wrong. A person with 100+ LI is a more experienced raider and thus more likely to be competent at a boss and his class. He could be kitten, but he’ll prob hold himself better than a 30 LI person. He might not, but there’s less of a chance he’s bad.
The lore from the raids is utterly available to you. Just not the sensation and the feel of being a part of the story of the raid.
I’m unsure if they ever said there would be now important story or lore in the raids. Somene should find what they actually said. What they definitely did say was that you wouldn’t have to play raids to enjoy the major LS story and they’ve kept that promise. The raids prove extra lore or backstory, but the LS story itself stands and can be enjoyed without raidknowledge. Maybe just going in a cleared instance and reading all the things, watching the cutscenes and getting the dialogue with Glenna isnt the same as experiencing the raid, but i feel as its a fair way to make the content available for more casual players while giving the raiders a little more of an epic feel.
You get all the story from a cleared instance that a raider gets, the only difference really is that you don’t get the epic experience raiders get. But that experience is epic thanks to the difficulty. Beating Samarog or Deimos really easily would diminish the experience imo. Deimos is supposed to be an insanely strong creature and if you solo him easily it just wouldn’t be the same.
First of all lying isn’t as easy as to link a fake chatcode. Smart groups will ask you to spam you LI’s multiple times in the chat and if you then have to copy paste a code each time, they’ll notice. I guess you can use some sort of macro to bypass this if you really wanted too. I’d say be honest with groups, find groups of likeminded people with similar experience. I think in all, it will provide a more pleasant experience.
On the topic of what LI mean for a group. I often see people talk about how LI mean nothing and how 200+ LI groups are often worse than 70+ LI groups. This is just nonsense tbh. LI do mean something. Obviously i’ve had bad experience with 200+ LI groups and great experiences with 30 LI groups, but the LI are simply a way of diminishing the risk of a bad group. On average the 200 LI groups clear the bosses far easier than low LI groups. LI stand for experience. Experience doesnt mean everything but it def means something.
So, will lying and getting in high LI groups make increase your chances of success on a raidboss? Yes, but i honestly wouldnt do it.
I definitely agree that core shroud is far less strong than RS. However, necro is probably the strongest core spec compared to it’s elite spec. Between seasons i played both core and reaper necro a lot, and corenecro is honestly fairly playable. Reaper is def better, but the difference is definitely smaller than other classes. Try playing ranger without druid or Mes without chrono. Far more significant difference.
I would have liked to see some changes to necro but the changes they did have actually been very impactful in my play experience.
I’ve been using the Lynx rune today and I’ve been liking it a lot. The extra mobility isn’t a game changer in a teamfight and wont keep you alive, but it feels rly nice to not be as slow as usual. Besides that, the changes to Rev and Dh traps have meant a great deal too. You still have to be very very careful as a necro but Rev burst being so much less is rly nice and so is the lowered CC on guards. Necro is ok in prolonged survival, but it’s so easy to get instantly spiked down. The changes to those classes def made me feel way more confident on my necro today. Having a lot of fun in this new season.
Because i know the forums will be filled with people who complain very soon (sometimes justified, a lot more often unjustified), I just wanted to give some positive feedback. I’ve only played about 15 matches but so far i’m very impressed by the changes. The matches were closer, more intense than usual. I think 11 of my games where in a 100 point margin. I like how the reward system is cut off from the ranking system.
I consider myself a very average player and it’s very cool to see how i get ranked as average. Before i logged off i checked the top 10, and it included 5 pro league players. That’s fantastic to see how the very good players get driven to the top, instead of an average player ending in the same division as far better players as in the previous seasons.
Even if i make it to Legendary division, the superb players get to distinguish themselves for being in the top 250 and get cool titles to show of their achievements. This kind of true prestige, not through grind but through skill, is really what PvP needed. Good stuff Anet.
The other day i joined 80-100+LI Sabetha group while i myself have 40 LI (and Eternal), none of the group knew i actually didn’t fit the “requirements”. We one shot the boss, it was clean smooth run, everyone was happy about it and it felt really really good to tell that group that i actually have only 40 LI and that their LI requirement is garbage.
Had similar story with KC where i sneaked in high requirement group – was also a clean run. They took me to Xera as well despite my lolsy 40 LI.
Also, from my experience so far when it comes to bosses like Xera and Matt, those 200+ LI elitist are sooooo bad in many cases, like REALLY bad (pushing orbs to the edge off platform, stacking on crystal eating 21938219830 confusion, not using action key etc.). They mess up more than new players actually.
Bottom line: LI requirement is a joke and people who want to get carried require those.
@OP: best way to get kills is to join raiding guild. Problem with training runs is that you will never kill boss with those, ever (unless it is VG or escort). You can make own group but if you lack experience you can’t lead it. You can also lie about your LI and link chat codes (there are sites for it).
LI requirements aren’t bullkitten tbh. They’re very logical. Ofc a lot of stuff can still go wrong, a player with 40LI might do better than a 200+ player. However, by demanding a high amount of LI you lower the risk of failure substantially. You know the person at least knows the mechanics and has a fair amount of experience. he might be bad but the chance of that is less high. I’ve had bad 200+ groups and good 40+ groups. But overall the chance of clean kills is way higher in a 200+ group.
Well all the raiders on this forum say there are plenty of raids out there for people with no or low li.
Only problem is do you want to kill bosses well that will take afew weeks of banging your head against the wall… I mean boss with others who dont know much.
Edit
Might help to state what class you play some arent as welcomed as others in the raid either.
If you’re new to raids and can’t clear the bosses, how do you have the right to complain about not getting instant kills but failing often? All of us raiders had to go through that learning curve.
lol Well now. Happy birthday to the thing that would kill my interest in the game. I was in a solid guild for years, and when raiding was announced, I was semi hopeful about the greatness it was going to be. I mean, it was the greatest sight to see 40 of us, banding together to claim our guild hall. Felt good. Then the exclusion started.
Raids were 10 person instance, with apparently some real specific requirements in terms of class choices. Whether that was the raids fault or man made, I’m not sure. But I like many of the others wanted to raid, and people talked amongst themselves and 10 people were chosen for the very first raid group. I had no input on this, never had the chance to toss my name into the hat, was never asked about my raid experience in other games or my range of times that I could raid. I was cast aside just like everyone else.
We began asking when our turn would come, and it wasn’t until I’d say the release of the third boss when they started letting people trickle in just to try and clear VG. One night I had my opportunity. They needed a spot filled and I jumped at the chance. They asked what I would be playing. I said necro. They asked if I had a Rev. I said no, this necro is well geared enough (was about half and half for ascended at the time). They said oh no, we really need a rev. I said, if you needed a specific class, then why didn’t you ask for a specific class.
My interest sort of started to drop off at that point. It wasn’t until I voiced my opinion one too many times that people farming the first two bosses for weeks or months or whatever it was, could surely let others into their private club. Others felt the same way. It is frustrating when you see people that have only been there for a fraction of the time get all the opportunities, and that got the best of me, and I was told that I would no long be part of the guild, because as the guild leader said, he was tired of standing up for me. The problem was that he wasn’t standing up for anyone, except for himself, and nine others. I had been in talks with others and they either just stopped playing or kept playing but quit the guild. They were surprised when senior members could leave, and the leader didn’t care enough to ask them why.
I didn’t feel like starting over with a new guild, or pugging it. Never tried raiding, because it was the one thing they added to this game that you couldn’t just pick up and go with, or drop it and no one would have notice. The implemented a sub job, that killed the community I was in for years. One where every Friday or Saturday for years without fail, would get together, and do simple guild mission stuff, and have fun. Somewhere the devs felt they had to go out of their way to impress people that really didn’t need impressing. You knew what you were getting into if you played from release and stuck with it. There was no reason why they could instance a guild hall for 40 people to claim, but these raids had to be capped at 10…I mean, it happens all the time in open world. But it was easier to create content that alienated people for no reason.
I’m sorry to hear what happened to you, but I’m really not sure how this is Anet’s fault? They added content which they said wouldn’t be for everyone, and for those who dont want this “hardcore challenge” they get to enjoy the other 99% of the game. Adding something to the game, doesn’t destroy anything for others. You still have a massive amount of things to do in GW2, some other people just also have raiding.
Besides my first point. The things that happened to you aren’t the fault of raids. It’s the fault of people. First of all, your guildleader seems responsible for a part of this drama. He chose not to let other into the private raidgroup, he let Senior members walk away. This isn’t Anet’s fault for adding raids, it’s his.
Second of all, i see a fault in your actions that i see in a lot of people complaining about raids. If multiple people wanted to get into raiding but couldn’t, why didn’t you start your own group? Why does someone else need to pull you into raids? Get in there yourself! All those guildies who felt sad they couldn’t join the raid group, why didn’t you say “hey, let’s group up ourselves and try it out?”.
Raids have added to this game. Maybe it isn’t to some peoples liking, but it hasn’t taken anything away from them. Just given great content to veteran players who desperately cried out for it.
I finished the story yesterday and today i hoped to work on some of the achievements. These require me to go to The Bitter Cold. So i want to remake the elixir so i’m able to go there but i cant seem to get any frostbitten suet anymore. i’ve killed tons of mobs all over the map but none seem to drop. Someone told me to redo the story up until that point, but i redid Precocious Aurene and then went to the map (even going from Forstgorge) but that didnt help either.
Aerodrome portal scroll is a fantastic idea
Not sure Day. You definitely need to have all the achievs to see the challenge mote appear but i’ù unsure if you get the achievement if you do it without the achievs done.
4 always spawn. If the mesmer is in zerk gear? Maybe but it’ll be tough for sure
Some guildies an I went for it today. We did lvl 100 first and got all the achievements there. The design is absolutely spectacular. Less focus on mobs and 3 fantastic bossfights instead. Absolutely adored lvl 100. Good amount of challenge without it becoming too difficult. The achievements on lvl 100 definitely added some spice to the fights.
After we had everything we went for the Challenge mode. Thinking it would be a bit harder but nothing too bad. Boy were we wrong. Took us 4 hours to get through it all, but it was superb fun. It’s definitely as difficult as a raid. Far more difficult if we’re talking about individual responsability like dodging. Think i used my dodges about a million times today. This is some of the PvE content people have been waiting for, for a long time. I can hardly say how impressed i am with your work.
Last thing, music in the encounters was fantastic aswell.
just did it aswell, absolutely amazing fun. Truly impressed with Anet. Some of the best PvE content ever. And imo the hardest PvE thing ever, on a personal level. Raiding is more group coördination. But in terms of dodging, when to use what? Hardest ever imo.
sorry to be that guy, but the incorrect word of the use “literally” triggers the hell out of me. Literally, you can still play pvp. You just think it isnt fun atm.
Chungo raises a serious issue that might need to be adressed. Yh it is a bit stupid that 1 skill causes that to happen. probably should only count as 1 attack (ofc that would mean it also counts as 1 attack when it would benefit the revenant).
To the people here complaining that Rev is weak. It is an amazingly strong class. Great at teamfights, blocks, evade, high dps. It’s mobile and is great at finishing off weak targets. It’s ok in duels. Can sustain for a while at least and win versus certain classes. I agree condimesmer is a bit over the top and superb 1v1. But every class has it’s counter. As a rev, dont engage a condimesmer 1v1. Make an impact somewhere else, or jump him together with a teammate and kill him 2v1. That’s how pvp is supposed to work. I play necro and when i see a dragonhunter, i’m not going anywhere near him alone. I choose a diff target or wait for a teammate to back me up.
I posted a proposal for a story mode in the very first thread about it on these forums, months ago. The idea is centered around the following:
a) No re-balancing or tweaking of boss mechanics
b) No re-balancing or tweaking of rewards
c) Very little development time required
d) Gives access to the full story experienceHow do we all the above? I will explain with examples, because that’s the best way of doing it.
The trash mobs before VG are the same as always, no change here is needed. Then the team starts the fight with VG itself. The fight is the exact same as always, only it terminates after the first split (or before the first split, that’s debatable). Basically you remove the later phases of the fight.
At Gorseval, once again the encounter will terminate after the spirit phase, or before the spirit phase (debatable).
KC will terminate after the first burn phase. Xera will terminate before the gliding platform part.
Slothasor is tricky because it’s the same fight for the entire duration, he gets one new attack at 50% and that’s it. I’m not sure about Sloth.
Sabetha is also tricky, following the other examples terminating at Kernan would make the most sense, but then you’d “miss” two champion bosses with their own dialogue.
I don’t think Escort/Trio need any new termination point, and for Escort specifically it wouldn’t make any sense.Basically you remove later phases from the fights, in a similar way how games like WoW add extra phases in their higher difficulties. If something like this is implemented they could ADD more phases later on to create a hard mode (in the same manner as the easy mode, add a new phase). There is no extra mechanical balancing needed. If doing only the first phase is way too easy, they could make it so you go through 2 phases instead and ignore the third one.
As for rewards they stay the same as if you wiped at the next phase. If you wipe at Phase 2 of Vale Guardian you get some shards for finishing Phase 1, if you win the story phase then you get the same shards. I mean you can already go farm shards by wiping at phase 2 of VG repeatedly, so it wouldn’t make much of a difference anyway. No other rewards, those that depend on killing the boss will require actually killing them going through all the phases.
PS: I’ve been in training runs, and in some pug runs and I’ve never seen a group wipe at the first phase of VG, even when they were newbies with exotic gear.
This idea of yours sounds good in theory but not in practice. The Devs will have to rebalance the bosses for this to work.
For some bosses it’s very doable. Vg would indeed work well. On other bosses it doesn’t.
Gorse, for instance is a DPS check. You can let it end at the first spirit phase, but your group will need a substantial amount of DPS to push him to that spirit phase. A group of random people who join together in exotic gear and don’t use metabuilds and composition will take hours to get it, if they even get it. If you look at a boss like Matthias. If you’d cut the fight at 40% (you see him go in abomination state and then he goes mental and blows up or whatever). Getting to that 40% for a group is hard as hell work. I’m a Raidleader in an EU raidtraining guild. And i recently took 9 people who hadn’t fought him before but were in full asc gear, full meta builds and had an optimal group composition to fight him. It took us 2 hours to get there. If a random group of players without a leader, without proper gear and setup tries this, it will take them hours and hours. Same with Trio. It isn’t hard, but it isn’t something people randomly walk into and clear either. It does require coördination. People will not be willing to put in this amount of effort for such poor rewards. Honestly, you might aswell do the work of actually killing the bosses in a proper raidgroup.
There is no way a casual group walks into Mathias in exotic gear and without having a clue, and 1h later they have pushed him to abomination phase. No way.

Why does Lege armor have to be tied to Raids?

The idea of legendary armor only viable for raider is total crap.
The game is an open world content mmorpg and war between players. The idea of getting legendary weapon from open world adventure is very great from Anet. This is probably the best idea to get legendary. But come on, do we fan of open world content should do raid just to get the armor?
Legendary backpiece has 2 ways to get it. Fractal is a short time dungeon (mostly acceptable for us open world lover because you can just do it for 30 minutes and you’re finished). If you don’t like fractala, you can do PvP as other option which is also acceptable (30 minutes of fight and done).
But hey, I don’t ever heard a 30 minutes raid. You have to spend hours to finish it. We have game for raid lover, it’s called World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy XIV.
This is guild wars 2. It is a unique mmorpg that give you flexibilities to play what you like and the end game is endless (get rich, WvW, doing fun exploration with guildies while making every second matters).
Yeah I get it some people really love raiding and stuff like that. But have you ever think why in the first place we play GW2?
Just a suggestion, at least give us other choice to get legendary armor via something else. We don’t want to spend so much time just to done 1 raid. (If you gonna argue me on this by saying build a static or crap like that, it isn’t an option for some of us, most of my friends in-game have thing called life.)Also to all of you who think we should get legendary armor via raid only, you should learn that not everyone have the time to spend 2-3 hours on raid just to get it. We have job, family and stuff to do in real life. Try to be in our shoes once a bit.
This is an honest rant from me and my friends.
Tl;dr : make other option to get it. Thank you.
Sincerely yours, MrJ
Maybe you should try to be in our shoes for once. I’m someone who does have time on his hands, who does put in the effort of being online a lot, making an effort to get those raids done each week. 99% of this game is open to casual players, 1 tiny bit of content isn’t available to the casuals (although raids aren’t that hard at all). Why can’t we have a reward that we can show off? Why can’t we have a mark of that commitment. Something for all that hard word we did put in.

Raids are the most challenging content in this game, PvE-wise. They need a unique reward that is worth that effort.
Not all players will be able to get these items, but is that a bad thing? It’s legendary armor, it needs to be special. If you make it easy to get, everyone runs around with it and it doesn’t have any value.
I don’t WvW at all. If Anet launches a new Legendary backpack that i think looks awesome but it requires rank 2000 in WvW. I’ll either not get it or work my kitten off getting it. Not everything needs to be available to everyone. I’ve waited soooo long for some content that actually has prestige.
I want the same feeling as when I made my first legendary, back when it was still a big deal. Now everyone has 2-3 of em and I hate that. Legendary gear needs to mean something.
I think megaservers is one of the best things they changed in the game tbh. And i like the idea of serverlinking, the linking itself can be done better tough imo.
This is probably the millionth rant about this topic, but i’m gonna make it anyway. I understand that the whole linking servers is hard and you need to thread the needle on balancing it. But the linking we got this week makes no sense whatsoever. A little common sense would make anyone understand that this is a horrible week for my server.
I’m on Gunnar’s Hold. We’re 18th on the WvW rankings. We’re up against Aurora Glade and Drakkar Lake. Aurora is 13th, so they’re already a lot better than us. What linking doe we get? We get put together with Vabbi who are 25th, Aurora get linked with Ring of Fire who are 17th. Yeah, that’s right. The server who is already way better than us, gets linked with another server that’s better than us. While we get paired with one of the worst servers in the game. Drakkar, 12th, get paired with Miller’s Sound who are 1 spot behind us. So another server way better than ours gets paired with a server around our level. No point in even saying that we’re getting absolutely destroyed in WvW this week.
I understand this is a hard process, and some computer module came up with this. But if a real person with common sense looked at this for 1 second. They would realise that this is a really bad linking.
This absolutely seems like a problem yeah. Same thing with chrono’s. Alacrity and Quickness are sooo important. Seems like you’ll need a chrono for every encounter for the rest of the game. Unless another class gets massive quickness but that seems odd.
I’m a big fan of raiding in GW2, but i know a lot of people really dislike raids because they’re not interested or are finding it hard to play them. But I don’t want to start that discussion.
I often hear how raids are only being played by a small amount of the playerbase. So i’m wondering if anyone has any links to devtalk or has any statistics of what percentage of GW2 players play raids consistently?
Is it 25% of the active playerbase or is it more like 10% or even less? A lot of people in my environment play raids so I don’t really have a good perspective at it.
Any info would be much appreciated.
I was sympathetic to vM when they asked for a rematch cause that DDOS was gamebreaking and i feel they’re superior to TCG. But any respect i had for vM disappeared as they cheated. I don’t care what happened, you don’t cheat.
The DDOS is also not GW2s fault. He mentions another game (could be Rainbow Six where this happened) where a bug causes problems for the teams and they restart the game. But this is a completely different situation. A DDOS is not GW2s fault, and unlike a bugg, the casters or whatever can’t know for sure if a DDOS has happened. What if Frostball just has bad connection or what if ppl drop outof games when they feel control slipping away.
I understand why vM wanted a rematch, but i also understan why Anet didn’t allow one. And any right of speaking vM had, completely vanished when they decided to cheat.
this is madness. another bleed is the easiest to cleanse thing ever and it does 103 dmg with my wanderer’s amulet. That dmg is a joke, and Anet needs to realize that it’s important to have multiple conditions to stack so the enemy cznt just cleanse the entire bleed stack.
They nerf reapers so hard and yet they leave condimesmers untouched, scrappers hardly lose surv. What a joke this is
Me and 2 guildies played a pvp match and now we’re stuck inside The Battle of Khylo. If we try to leave we get sucked in again. I’ve tried to go to guildhall, WvW, change characters and have tried restarting the game. Nothing works. The opposing team is stuck aswell.
What are you talking about? Druid starts without celestial form, warrior starts without adrenaline.
The class mechanic that requires build up always starts without any built up.
you’re absolutely right tbh. The new specs are far stronger than the old. As a non-elite you have a major disadvantage and will not be as strong as an elite spec.
It was kind of to be expected and i understand Anet. You wanna make sure people feel rewarded for buying the new expac so you make sure the new classes are worth playing. How do you do that? Make em stronger than normal core specs. 95% of players don’t make a problem out of it and just spend the money. I feel sorry for the 5% that don’t want to do that. I guess either buy the expac after all or try to make due.
as long as you have soulmarks you build up lifeforce really quickly. Land 1-2 marks before truly comitting and you have some lifeforce to use
I just don’t understand the criticism? The pip loss system is completely necessary, else literally everyone will get to Legendary. I think there are problems with the matchmaking for sure, noone will deny that. But you can’t honestly criticise the pip system?! Everyone gets through amber cause you can’t lose pips. Getting to Ruby is really easy aswell because you cant lose divisions so its simply a matter of time. And then it starts getting higher, which is only logical. Legendary should be an achievement you worked hard on. It shouldn’t be about farming games and get there with certainty.
50% wl ratio isn’t forced on you. You’re supposed to be a positive force for your team that drives that ratio up, or play with a group and dominate. Casual pvpers like me get like kitten wl or sth and i got too diamond fairly easily. And then real good pvpers can lift it to 65-70% and get to legendary fairly quickly and keep building there.
Not being able to lose pips would truly ruin the season, it would take any fun/prestige away
I know Phoebe! I actually made a thread about it ages ago. I think a sort of collection would be great. You can buy a sigil and add it to your legendary’s collection. Then you can swap out sigil but you still payed for em in the first place so it isnt too unfair to non legendary owners. You can even make the swap cost like 50s. But having to swap out a 11g energy sigil is a no-go
Started with Bifrost and got Meteo after, so my necro has like a weird dark/light contrast goin on. This is with Bifrost but the colours are kinda the same as Meteo

I like the idea of improving plague. The chill and fear pulse seem a little over the top though. On a condireaper, chill does like 800 dmg per sec. If you can do that in a form where you’re nearly unkillable, that’s a bit much. Same for the fear. I like the idea of adding torment though.
For pve it might be doable, but it would be way too strong in pvp or wvw imo.
rage all you want but don’t be an idiot and say “Anet doesn’t care, they have my money”. It’s a company that benefits from the game being better. The better the game, the more people buy it, the more money they get. The idea that they wouldn’t care about the quality of their game is ridiculous.
I dunno wtf happened that you got into an 18 loss-streak. I’ve had like 4-5 losses max.
Some people don’t seem too understand that Gw2 can’t have like a all-knowing brain behind everything. The game can’t detect a bad player other than look at points or wins. So if a bad player gets some lucky wins, he might be stuck to you. That sucks but the game can’t truly detect lack of skill.
Loads has been kittenty about the leagues. MMr tanking, queueing with an amber,… But it was there first attempt ever so mistakes were to be expected. Let’s see if the next League is better.
The scepter change is not that special all. Only 1 boon in a world where everyone has loads of boons at all time. Pretty much every necro runs 3 signets that boon cirrupt alrdy and its fine. Corrupt change is a bit too much maybe
Karl is a dev, he might notbe into pvp . There’s no need to switch him to non-design at all. The quote is however worrying, DH isnt good at all in pvp.
I would rly advise Anet to do some skype calls to some of the top pvp players. They have a good, eye in the state of pvp.
Get sensible people like Rom, Phantaram, Nos, Toker, Frostball and other top pvpers to,help make more classes viable for like proleague stuff. Then ask pvpers that do loads of soloq. Pvp that isnt ESL level but just solid pvp in Gw2. People like Xerrex or Tap Dat Mouse or whatever to help balance for that kind of solid pvp play.
Gw2 has a really helpful/nice community and i’d think it wouls help a lot if Anet used them more
These are 2 pvp builds i kinda theorycrafted. Nothing fzncy but i wondered how well it could work in ranked pvp. Any guidance/help is welcome
Good condiremovzl thx to the surv skills, decent surv as a whole, taunt on pets to help land their and my burst, high fury uptime and quickening zephyr to get away wit superspeed and hit hard.
This is another thing i theorycrafted. Makes use of the grandmaster Druid trait. Knocking back or stunning foes entangles them. With the LB knockback, GS stun, smokesczle knockdown and the entzngle from elite: i’ll have a lot of immobilizes on the enemy. They’ll allow me to line up some deadly burst.
I tried sth similar with this, and i lacked condicleanse in a condiheavy meta. So i took 4 survival skills and the surv skills cleanse condis trait. Celestial avatar cleanses condi aswell. I’ll use it to pop in to cleanse and maybe daze to immob and then go out.
i have the same issue. The collection states 5/19 but I have 8-9. No idea what is causing it and why some are and some aren’t shown. The Longbow for instance i actually use on Ranger but it doesn’t show.
Does anyone, and I mean ANYONE think that new players with a naked account are starting from anything like parity with a 3 year veteran?
They get a free game. Good for them. I get new players to play with without unnecessary barriers to entry. Good for me and the game as a whole.
I realize enlightened self-interest is hard because it takes thinking about where you’ll be in a day or week or month rather than right this second as you’re clicking “buy now” but dang people…
I think those f2p games will suit your taste more as gw2 is using a b2p model so yea we will care if some people are getting this game for free and some people need to pay for it.
Imagine going to a restaurant where some eats for free and some need to pay. Doesn’t make sense does it?
Yh, you’ll end up paying more for the buffet. But you’ve also been eating from it for the last 3 years, while the new guy hasn’t.
Same boat….
Old customers/loyal player base are expected to pay more for the same game than newer players…
I’ll explain as simple as I can:
Player 1- Bought the game at release for $60-$80 depending on situations. (mine was $80, EB Games Australia)
Player 2- Still hasn’t looked at Guild wars 2 because they have been enjoying other games for the last 3 yearsWith the expansion coming out:
Player 1- Will now have to pay a further $50 for an expansion to a game they own, which I believe no one would have cared about, making a total of $110-$130 spent.
Player 2- Randomly walks into a game shop with some birthday money or spare cash, see’s Guild Wars 2 + expansion on sale for $50, takes it home and enjoys full benefits of a game, a total of $50 spent. The loyal customer has paid more money just for the original game without the expansion while the new player pays less and acquires more. – Understandably making vet players a little angry and left out after having stuck with Anet for so long. The best compensation they can provide is a free game copy in which they hope player 1 will use to bring in player 3 but all that will most likely happen is a bunch of forgotten codes, hack accounts, alt accounts, spy accounts for wvw and what have nots… It will also provide an unrealistic view of how many actual players are on a server or play the game…. kinda adds to population balance problems even further.
I think it would have been in good taste to give us a char slot. But i don’t think you can expect them to still ask 50 bucks for a 3 year old game. If i buy COD 2 years after release, it’s gonna be cheaper. Even if they added some extra maps.
And why have people never been this upset about the sales weekends then? New ppl were able to buy the game for 10 dollars, a lot less than veteran players. Noone kittened about that
Challange, defend the HoT expansion price

Thanks Arenanet, I’m happy, I understand both arguments but sso many people don’t. CORE GAME IS FREE FOR THOSE WHO DONT ALREADY HAVE IT!!!
And what about for those people who do already have it? That’s $50 + $50 = $100 lost.
As opposed to a latecomer only paying $50 for the same products.
Is your reading comprehension that poor?.
First of all, you’re kitten at math. 2nd, you’ve had the game for 3 beautiful years. It’s pretty much always like this so i dont know why the hate is so big this time. If you buy sth on release you’ll always get a kittentier deal than latecomers. They will always be able to buy cheaper, but you paid more for the added time.
I’m sorry but it’s kinda ridiculous that people are angry that others are getting sth that they don’t need themselves. I’d agree if the expac was cheaper for new players or sth like that. That would have been very unfair and not okay.
But that some new player is getting the core game with it, why would that bother me?
I’m glad, cause it’ll be an incentive for people to buy this bundle and that means more players ingame.
its about how anet treat their loyal customer. even WoW’s expansion still require new player to buy the original copy

So you would be happy if it costed 50 bucks and forced new players to buy the original?
So it’s not so much that you want something, you want others not to have something.
Just buy the expac if you want it and don’t spend too much attention on what others get, life isn’t always fair.
