Do you really need a bunch of “hall monitors” or “day care workers” visible to provide assistance and keep players towing the line? I rather have a system where I can report a problem and go about my business without needing to wait for the “cops” to take my statement again.

In general gaming performance, the 760 is 25% faster than a 660 (only 5-10% faster than a 660Ti). But here in GW2, when the frame rate lags it’s CPU performance and not as dependent on the GPU. But if you are running at a really high resolution, 2560×1600 or some multi-monitor setup, then GPU performance does matter.

But posters will see 53,000 and choose to post under it’s price for a quicker sale. Psychologically it still acts as a wall that you would want to post beneath it. As long as enough players are posting under it, even at the velocity JS is talking about, it may take a bit longer to wear that wall down than a few hours.

The i7-2600 is probably the best processor of the last 3 generations in terms of overclockability.
Now if you were running stock clocks then the i7-4770 wins. But getting it to overclock as easily as a -2600 is really dumb luck. Plus the change in the internal thermal transfer material between the silicon to the heat spreader makes the ix-3xxx and -4xxx tougher to cool (as well as the feature shrink increasing the density of gates concentrates the heat more).
Edit: tweaked what I meant about -4770k overclocking.

The only reason it’s grindy for you is you don’t want to spend any real money. Don’t blame you for it but that’s always been the trade off.
Not sure what your argument is here. You want people to spend 100’s of dollars on gems to convert to gold to buy they stuff they want? I don’t see it as one or the other. I do support the game buy buying gems, albeit I haven’t been so much lately and probably won’t again until they update the areas of the game that I like to play.
You either have a lot of time to play the game, thereby acquiring coin that you can use to buy gems, or you have a life/job and can afford buying these convenience and vanity items by buying gems with real money. We knew this going in. No subscriptions but it had a cash shop. The fact they generously let us take ingame currency to buy gems is bonus. Of course they use the gold spent here as a means to pay those selling gems as well as yet another gold sink.
Of course if you don’t have time or money, you’re SOL. But if the game didn’t have an exchange and you didn’t have money, you would still be SOL. So it’s a wash.

“I LAG!!!!!”
That’s like saying the sky is blue and water’s wet. Every zone you are connected to another server. IP changes every time. Plus you are connecting from Croatia to the US. That’s a bit of a haul. I’m in the US so I don’t have a transatlantic hop and I frequently get lag when there’s a big event going on and I’ll say the whole LA event is pretty intense in terms of getting the players involved.
So next time you’re on, do a /ip to get the zone’s server IP and use a tool like ping plotter to see what your ping is to NCSOFT’s Austin cluster. For me it’s around 160-170ms. Then there’s the actual process delay on the server. You can see the actual ping by looking up the IP on the Window’s resource monitor.

I’ll say Tuesday.
Since we don’t know what you had before, giving an educated guess is difficult. Also there are many different 3rd gem i7 laptop CPUs and MSI’s site doesn’t narrow it down any but I’m seeing a lot of i7-3610QM.
The GT 650M seems standard but it could be 1600×900 or 1920×1080 screen. Likely it’ll be fast enough depending on your graphic settings.
But again since we don’t know what you had, or which i7 3rd gen this laptop has, our guesses are somewhat hampered.

I know hundreds of people that use Facebook. The only ones that use Google+ do so because of YouTube. No-one I know uses it for any social purposes.
Just one more random outlet where Anet will dump “news” about the game where people may not see it.
But I refuse to use Facebook. It ticked me off to no end when CoH had a facepalm emote only available to people who liked them on Facebook.
God I missed that game, so many emotes for RPing or just hanging about.
RIP City of Heroes
Well Google+ people didn’t want to go to Facebook.
No one uses Google+ we’re just forced to have one cuz of Youtube.
I don’t believe that. Now forced to have one because you want to rate your Android apps, I can believe. I have a YouTube account and don’t have a Google+ account.
If you want to do -anything- on youtube you do need G+ for it, comments you leave on videos get filtered out and auto marked as spam, the video creators cant unmark them as valid comments due to G+ not knowing who it is, easily seen since no one can “reply” to your comment.
Your thumb ups dont work either.
(I know all of this since I am a creator on youtube)
Who bothers to comment YouTube videos anymore. Especially the ridiculous stuff found in YouTube comments, why would anyone bother.

Ahh … PrintScreen/SysReq button on the keyboard. Maybe if you are on a laptop this button isn’t as easy to access but it’s function is sort of obvious.

Yeah. I have little idea how aggro works here even after a year and a half. There will be times I’m down at the edge of his range attack and the champ will still focus on me rather than the three guys whacking him with swords. I guess he really doesn’t like caltrops.

I think one of the reasons for this is to funnel players to the areas that anet wants them to play in.
At the very least in encourages the player population to visit particular areas of the world. Same is true with LS content.

Stop arguing over stupid trivialities…
The point is, many people like myself now have stacks of these things that are just once again wasting space. Let us trade them or do SOMETHING with them…
I agree, the thread is a little off topic.
On topic:
There are two groups of people. One group has blade shards but does not want/need them. One group wants/needs blade shards but for whatever reasons does not have them.
Allowing them to be tradeable would fix the issue very nicely for both groups.
Except if they are a reward for playing the LS content. In which case you don’t play it, you don’t get any and no neat back piece for you.
Edit: One of these days I will remember to always quote when I reply to someone.

I think it was absolutely core to the design of this new gear that you GET INTO LIONS ARCH AND DO SOME HEROING to get the shiny. The blade backpacks are for heroes, not the shopping network.
Meanwhile in Lornar’s…
Do you like live in LA? I only got 2 shards for the time I was in there.

You want “big numbers” and rate of return.
The winning Powerball this Wednesday sold 85.6 million tickets and had a jackpot winner for $242.2 million lump sum. For $2 you would earn on average, $0.36 ignoring the jackpot, $1.74 including the jackpot. BTW there wasn’t a jackpot winner for 15 drawings. That means for $32 (15 misses and one hit) the average payout per ticket was $7.14.
This is just for comparison sake.
RIP City of Heroes
WHERE IS THE P2W? Tell me that and don’t point to some 40c sprocket as proof.
And if it’s not the cash shop, what is funding the continuing development of the game for the last 18 months? All the box sales did was pay off the initial development costs to pay off NCSOFT. Not to mention a fair chunk of that money never got put into ANet’s coffers first, NC Interactive and NCEurope took their share first for the box revenues. Sure it all ends up in NCSOFT’s hands in the end, booked as income, but each subsidiary needs to show profitability within it’s own income/cost structure if it’s to survive.

6000 AP in a month, impressive (and kind of sad). 6000 AP in a year and a half, not so much. So without duration of play, it’s a pointless number. It’s sort of like the odometer on your car. Tells how many miles you’ve driven, just not over how long.

No 500 is plenty even when the drop rate odds are, say, over 10%.

2. The Only SSDs that have the lifecycle issues are MLC, which are not even sold to consumers anymore. TLC is what 99% of the consumer SSDs are now, and they live WAY beyond that small 10,000 write cycle you are talking about. Your statement was true for MLCs, it is NOT true for SLC or TLC type SSDs.
3. There is no logical reason not to run your Page file on your SSD. If you have a modern SSD that is based on SLC or TLC logic boards, supports TRIM, then you have nothing to worry about. Most SSDs will burn out in 3-5years anyway, page file or not. So might as well get the best out of your system
God I don’t know where to begin. First, MLC, which is 2 bit per flash cell, is still the predominate flash being used in drives today.
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/storage/display/ocz-vector-150-vertex-460_11.html#sect0
Second, TLC (3 bit per) has a lower write cycle limit than MLC (and MLC has a lower write limit compared to SLC). The difference is there are better ways now to manage this limitation.
http://techreport.com/review/25889/the-ssd-endurance-experiment-500tb-update
Note that it’s only the Samsung 840 which uses TLC that is starting to eat into it’s spare area because of write failures.
Third, the above link also shows 500TB of writes. Using a harsh JEDEC write pattern of 40GB of writes per day, that’s 22 years of writes. And both the MLC and TLC based SSDs going strong.
So enough of this MLC flash is crap.
On your other points you are right. No reason to shunt the page file or other Window’s system files or User area to a conventional drive. And no reason to disable the page file EVER.

Ah, not familiar with Paypal’s policy.

Using paypal is the same as buying a gem card 25 euro so it would be unlogic to make paypal for that
The OP wants to buy only 800 gems. Paypal is an option for buying gems from the gem shop.

Law of Big Numbers when dealing with RNG should show a greater tendency toward actual odds. So 500 chests gives us a practical number of 14 tickets. That’s much lower than I inspected. The 1 in 5 for scraps is close to what I expected but the 1 in 125 for an actual ticket is much lower than I expected.
RIP City of Heroes
Thieves are a little brittle here but I enjoy mine. Has a nice mix of short range and melee attacks.
Human would put you in Queensdale. Just north is the Human city of Divinity’s Reach and from there you can, via the “Lion’s Arch” portal, to a location where you can catch a portal to the other race’s home city and from there to their starting areas as well. Explore those five cities (you can get loads of XP from exploration) and the 5 starting areas and you should find yourself at a nice level in a relatively short time.
Also gathering materials from nodes (mining, gathering plants, chopping down trees) also grant a nice bit of XP as well. Actually just about every activity in the game can generate XP.
Well enjoy. Check out the sticky posts at the top of the board for helpful hints.

My take an ascended equipment is it’s there for those who feel compelled to get the absolutely best equipment in a game. But the bar ANet set for that privilege is so high, in terms of coin, materials and time gates, that it is actually a deterrent for most and that’s good.
You wanted vertical progression, well here it is and all the flaming hoops to jump through, enjoy.
And because of that they will never bump up the levels and gear because if level 90 exotics have the same stats as legendary, those diehard, BIS, min/maxers would spontaneously combust. Whether the resulting carnage be a good or bad thing, that’s to be seen.
RIP City of Heroes
Hi! Welcome.
The starting location is based on your race. Profession, well that’s a whole can of worms. Have you played an MMO or RPG before? Do you prefer melee or range? Steel or magic? Nuanced or mindless play style?

BLWS is in the DR TP area a free WP away. Before this patch you would have to go to LA anyway for the Activity NPC and now she’s in the camp outside of Vigil’s Keep. So no less annoying than it was before.
I agree that they were a little too enthusiastic with then made the airship EVERYTHING that was in LA instead of an equal alternative to the RT.

Thanks a lot for quick reply… I was hoping this would take me to any WP’s…
Why would you think that? The WP system is a minor gold sink that you have to unlock each node first. Did such a thing exist before anywhere in the game? I know a lot of people ignore the story but with the destruction of LA, here’s a compact, one stop area with all your in game needs. That’s what you are paying for. 6 months ago that area was (still is) in DR. It’s existence was also tied to the story at the time.

Every city had 99% of what was in LA (there’s probably something I don’t use that I’m not missing in the cities).
I stopped going to LA months ago, other than using it to go from city to city, even before I bought the pass to the RT.
What’s missing?
Crafting? All cities have it.
Bank? All cities have it.
TP? All cities have it.
Laurel Vendor? All cities have it.
Guild support? All cities have it.
BL Ticket Venders? All cities have it.This sounds like a case of not bothering to explore the various home cities and simply rush off to the forums to register your misplaced outrage.
Mystic Forge Daily was the only reason i went to LA in the last months, else i simply go to Hoelbrak and to everything else there
And I went to Edge of the Mist to use it’s MF because you didn’t have as many hyped up, bored players who thinks it’s fun to set off their most annoying AoE attacks constantly around you.

No, nothing out of the ordinary that you can’t see at the Grammy’s.

Yes, but if he (or you) does something “bad” then you (and he) will have to accept the punishment. If either of your computers get hacked and the black hats get a hold of the account and/or e-mail and you find your account ransacked. Or if he or someone at his end deletes your characters, swipe your loot, use up all your gold, you have no recourse.
That’s why they prefer you don’t share accounts. That and they would love your brother to buy his own copy (really serial number) of the game.
RIP City of Heroes
See at no time have I ever wanted to include the MF in my bank/tp/crafting station loop. I only use the MF to get a daily or use it as a slot machine for item quality promotion.

It would be better if they stopped adding stuff to the gemstore and instead added stuff through actual gameplay.
But then the game runs out of money to keep the servers up and the devs employed.
And someone will chime in about the whole “it does already by allowing you to convert gold to gems”. Have stuff in game as well but you can’t run an MMO without some means of continuous income.
RIP City of Heroes
Same here. I am running Windows 7 with Intel Core i7 2700k with GeForce GTX 670 and 16gb of ram. Run around 30 fps (all medium settings or below), and will drop to 12fps or lower in WvW or big events or towns in GW2.
Mac version currently has a unique issue KK, you are just having expectations popped in WvW, which sucks for everyone. Most people “fix” it by adjusting the Character Model Quality settings as well as reflections and shadows when playing WvW. Frame rate tends to grind to a halt as the number of other players, not NPCs, increases.
So leave the Mac players with this thread, you already have your one thread.
