Rifts DEs, even their zone wide events are NOT what you have in Guild Wars 2. Do you know why Rift failed as a game for me.
Because they left in the traditional questing to level. People ignored Rifts and later zone events because the rewards for them were neglible. And people were kitten off because they couldn’t turn in quests to a quest guy because their zone was taken over and there weren’t enough people on their server to take it back, so they’d have to wait an hour for the zone to despawn.
I agree that when people did them they were exciting, but they were repeated every hour or so all night long, completely disrupting the entire zone. The problem is Rift did everything in half measure. They kept all the old stuff like traditional questing, raidiing and all that. Guild Wars 2 is the first game that went the whole way. Heart quests have multiple ways to fill them (something you couldn’t do in anything in Rift). Dynamic events chain, something that didn’t happen in Rift either. Some of them tell stories. They have have different conditions which can change the follow up event, none of which happened in Rift.
I loved the big zone events, and always did them. I also don’t see the traditional questing as a problem. When i started to dislike the game was, when at level 50 there were no level 50 items you could get for the purple shards, and in the end it turned again into a dungeon/raid grind for good gear. And i simply am not a big fan of that.

For female characters, I’d say that light armor has the best variety and overall selection. Medium armor is more than a little lacking, but no so much as it is for male light armors. Heavy armor gives you a good variety.
^This
Medium is really lacking variety .. mostly just ugly trenchcoats. Light has a lot good looking stuff, and heavy at least a lot more than medium.

also in frostgorge are alpine minotars, these drop T5/T6 blood.
there are lots of minotars close to the gate to Wayfare in the SE part of the map.
They only drop T5 blood, or has that changed in the last months ?

Go Dredgehaunt Cliff and slay some Svanir .. Totems sell for around 2.50 silver, Claws for 1.80s or whatever. Should be easy to make 1-1,5 gold per hour i think.

Not farming is a disgusting lie? What? You only need to farm if you want one of the expensive exotics with awesome skins and don’t feel like waiting for it either. You get at least 1g an hour playing normally in higher lvl zones or dungeon/fractals. Sure it’s not much, but it’s enough to gear up 1 character with lvl 80 exotics or you spend karma, only 252k for a full set or just save the dungeon tokens (unless you count doing ~3 paths a week until you have your armor set farming too?).
This is a completely enourmous BS.
There’s no way to make AT LEAST 1g per hour just playing normally.
If you play normally you can make 1-2 gold PER DAY, unless you luck up and get some exotic or something equivalent in value.
You don’t make 1g if you just count the trash you sell to NPCs .. however its not a big problem mostly if you sell all crafting mats instead of just sending them to your bank.

Are the mystic forge recipes exotics? I’m also curious about this. I like playing the game & not spending countless hours & gold crafting.
They are however mostly a lot more expensive than crafted gear, and mostly only used as skins since they also not ever have the stats you really want.

When i tried mace i really found the damage is sooo much worse against Greatsword or Axe. So maybe try another weapon that helps killing faster. And else maybe just wait until you are 5 or 10 level higher.
Don’t know that specific boss, but i know some bosses in the Personal Story can be really nasty sometimes.
Just found this via Google :

sounds really not easy.

Crafting is fast but it’s not playing the game and it’s expensive. Do DEs, explore, gather everything you see. You will amass XP quite quickly. I took my ranger all over Tyria just hunting down all the pets to tame. I got like 3+ levels just from the exploration & gathering as I went.
Crafting is more for alts and if you like to farm money now an then. Because at some point you can say : ok crafting 30 levels with artificer, jeweler and chief cost me maybe 7-8g, but if i farm gold in the time where i would have normally leveled that character, i have much more gold in the end.

You have plenty of gold to get into a full set of rare knights gear. Get all knights weapons and armor. GS/Rifle are fine for PvE in Orr. Use a 20/30/0/0/20 traits build, you will kill stuff so fast it wont have a chance to hit you. With this build I can take on multiple mobs at once anywhere in orr. There is no reason to run full GC unless you are planning on doing speed runs, PVT or Knights armor and weapons, I would recommend Knighs because you still kill fast but can take much more of a beating..
I also am a big fan of Knights gear. Mostly i only have berserker weapons, and the rest is Knights or maybe some Valkyrie mixed in

Try thinking of the pick as a cosmetic item that happens to have unlimited charges. Do you expect to be able to swap cosmetic items freely between all your characters?
Yeah .. or more just like a skin .. my Reavers of the Mists costed around 100g per piece, my T3 legs 25g .. and now my Pick has costet 21g
However i still wished i would have gotten the pick for all my chars

Most important thing they have to think of, if they ever implement duels, is an option to automatically deny them cause i don’t like duels, and i hate duel-spammers.

In other games Mobs become gray when you are like 10 levels higher, and you don’t get any loot or experience from killing them. I much prefer the system here where you can go playing where ever you want and still get loot and exp

If the personal story was truly personal, personally I would’ve chosen to go north into the Shiverpeaks and end at 80 in Frostgorge sound.
Instead, all my characters (including my Norns) must do the boring, slow, inevitable, zombie-like march south to Orr…
Even at level 79 you can level in lvl 40-50 zones as fast as in Orr, so i mostly ignored Orr on my later characters and just did Zones i liked more

Guys, you need to stop participating in this kind of system. In Hodgins words " is just stupid and wont work".
Maybe if players stop buying key ANET wake up and place skins to buy directly from TP.
Problem is : they don’t stop. We tried that already long enough in Champions Online.

I also support this thread. Its really annoying to constantly loose targets because of that.

Race: Norm
Sex: Female
Class: Ranger
Armor: Order of Whispers Medium Armor
Female Order of Whispers Medium Armor now always has Red Colors since the March 26 patch.
As you see in the image, i have colured nothing red, and there was nothing red before the patch

Ok .. has been fixed already .. thanks

At least in Frostgorge this isn’t possible. If you harvest the 2 nodes there on one server they are also gone on other servers.

Wow. I have the Meteorologicus and I think it is beautiful. All the detail and design that went into it. All that is missing is a footprint effect and and an improvement to the cloud particle effect. I am shocked with how much hate this weapon gets for the look of it.
The blue and purple trail is great and the design is perfect.
I don’t have it but i saw a video on Youtube from it, and i think it has a very nice unique design without beeing over the top

Good question .. since we already could get Lvl 80 armor and weapons in every area, even in starter areas. And also the same was already said in the last big patch i think, and i got lvl 80 stuff in the starter areas also before that.

Necro can however be tanky like no other class. But of course a little more damage wouldn’t be bad

This is by far one of the most gear sensitive games I’ve played. I notice a huge difference if I keep my gear upgraded near or at my level. Of course I don’t buy every single level, but every 5 to 10 I’d make sure you upgrade. It doesn’t even have to be rare gear, it can be green or even blue and you’ll notice a difference.
Also .. you have sockets in you armor-slots where you can drop in the jeweler crafting mats, that will also give you some nice extra-stats.
And dont wait for gear drops, you can buy a lot very cheap in the trading-post.

“This was to ensure that world loot drops were not a significantly worse way of acquiring rare and exotic items than crafting and running dungeons.”
Does anyone feel like there is absolutely no way this is even remotely close? No-one sees world drops even remotely close the dungeons or crafting reliability. Not only do you choose the skins and stats of crafted and dungeon gear, you also know you will get something. World drops are still terribad and champions are still ignored.
Agreed .. i have never seen an Exotic dropped anywhere in the Open World, and Rares drop maybe one ever 2 hours when i’m actually farming.
Also the Champions i killed in Orr after that patch all dropped nothing, nada, null.
