@OP: Believe me when I say that there are people who are willing to go through a dungeon for the sake of seeing the story of it (I am one of them). It might take a while, but I can assure you that they are out there.
Note as well that I’m pretty sure operation unity doesn’t require you to be a member to get help so that you can go through the dungeons and enjoy their stories.
It’s true that a lot of people like to go fast at these sorts of things. If your ever on at the same time and I have time, I could help teach you a dungeon run.
Another alternative is operation Unity, it is a cross server guild dedicated to helping players when they need help. Perhaps you should check them out?

Very well done, thank you for sharing.
I gotta say, I’m impressed. I’ve only played wvw once since Kaineng left T8, but have played a couple of times here in T2. I’m quite impressed by how competitive and entertaining this match up is. I’m also surprised and genuinely excited about how civil the match ups thread has been. This is something that I really enjoy, I really like it when a forum thread talks about cookies and dolyaks versus angrily yelling at each other. Thanks to all three servers for helping to make wvw enjoyable for me again
.
Interesting in terms of armor decision, do I see pointy ears?
In terms of quality, I think it is very good. Would love to see more.
Necroing the thread, this still happens, just did it after someone showed it to me. Any chance we can get this looked into?
All good, we each have our own opinions. Note though that as I go through the story my opinion might change
.
Just my last comment (and completely off topic ), while some might not, I enjoy having characters that I like less so than others (say annoying ones, ones who lack confidence, or other things) along with those that are more typically seen as awesome characters. I appreciate the less awesome characters for what they are; if every character was an awesome character, then the story would probably turn out less dynamic and multi-faceted than with those less awesomes
.
@Fsnowzombie: First off, it should be noted that I haven’t played through the whole story, so I haven’t experienced every scene involving Traehearne :P. From what I have seen, he seems to be a rather dour and somewhat pessimistic individual. Perhaps that appeals to me, it almost adds a different voice that contrasts with some of the more kitteny personalities that often exist in these games.
He also seems to be a non-stereotypical hero. So many games out there make out characters as being able to take on anything and everything, it’s a nice change of pace to have someone say ‘This will not end well’ and expect that those deadly situations have a strong potential of ending poorly.
Actually one of the things I really like about this game (and that so many seem not to like XD). Is that your character is not the savior of the world, it isn’t all about your epic journey (many claim Trahearne steals the spotlight). In many games it is about your character facing the ultimate threat, with everything resting on your shoulders. This game more has a multitude of very important characters (Trahearne, Zolja, Eir, Logan, Ritlock, Caithe, etc.) that all play an important role. Note though that even these extremely important and powerful characters can’t do things alone (they often need support from each other or other people to succeed).
Your character feels like someone who is important, does more than a rank and file soldier, but isn’t the world’s sole hope for survival (nobody truly fills that role in this game). I like to play this game thinking that my character isn’t all important, when I fight a champion, it usually takes a large number of players to do it, so while were important and skilled enough to do it, it is our combined effort that makes it all possible (much like the pacts effort is what makes the war against Zhaitan possible).
(Rant over)
I guess it isn’t so much that I like Trahearne, so much that the arguments I usually see arrayed against him are things that I actually think help make this a better story.
…….Well, that wasn’t nearly as clear as I would have liked it XD.
But, but I actually like Traehearne. That being said, your animation is pretty good, if a tad violent :P.
A beautiful piece, thank you for sharing.
I definitely think you have talent, thank you for sharing your drawing with us. I hope that your able to turn it into a career
.
There are a lot of exotic and other item’s that have glows in the thumbnail, yet I believe most of these don’t actually have particle effects.

This thread links to a site that shows the armor skins. Can also try dulfy.net. Or guild wars 2 wiki.
Excellent art, both this one and your thief one are very well done.
Nevermind, the site claims use of any images you post for any purpose they want, not going to post it there unless you give the go ahead for that as well.
Thank you very much for spending the time on this. Would it be alright if I posted it on my guild site? I would give credit to you naturally.
Would be tough since they would have to find a way to change your story as well.
Very excellent work Mandra, I eagerly await more.
Cheers,
Berk
Hmm, well, hard to describe in some ways. If you go to Lions Arch, there is the central area with the portals to each race’s main city. The norn one (has two norns standing in front of it) leads to Hoelbrak.
Directly east of Hoelbrak is Wayfarer foothills, in the northeast of that area is the way to the Diessa Plateau.
Hoelbrak is situated in the middle of the mountain area in the map, East of the human areas and west of the charr areas.
Righteo, thanks for the update. I eagerly await the final drawing with patience, thank you for taking the time to draw it

@Bearlover: That is a fantastic name for your character.
Alright, I haven’t played WvW for a while (not since my server left tier 8 ). But before that I played relatively often.
My play style was to try and work at picking off the weakened enemies in group engagements or to isolate enemies so that became overextended or were not in cover. To that end, my thief (Auri) would use the shortbow extensively to immobilize enemies, as well as scorpion wire to pull them. I also used daggers to burst enemies down if they were close to death.
I also tend to relay info if I feel it is necessary, emoticons also tend to find their way into my messages :P.
Also, to all those that I ever face in WvW, know that the game is first and foremost there for entertainment for me, which includes fair play ^.^. I try my hardest not to get angry at others in game and I hope that everyone I battle in WvW finds some sort of enjoyment out of the engagements.
Here is an image of my WvW character.
Hi all,
As we all know, in WvW, one cannot determine who your opponents are (usually). There are good reasons for this, but I think some of us also enjoy it when you can recognize that person over there your about to fight and can wave hello ^.^.
Therefore, I thought it would be nice to create a thread where you can show people your wvw characters and describe how you play, etc.
I will add my own character in a future post, not on the right computer right now XD.
*Also, please no details that can actually reveal your real life identity please.
Impressive work, your girlfriend has some talent.
@Joe:
You still need to pay for them unfortunately. Renown heart characters become karma vendors when you finish the renown heart. If you talk to them, you can see their inventory.
Hmm, mayhap I will leave some images here of two of my characters and see if something comes out of it. (Only if your interested of course).
Your style is pretty good from what I have seen so far. Hope to see more of your work.
My thief has had excellent farming success in the past using magic find gear. The key skill is the shortbow number 2 skill, the cluster bombs. If you move through mobs and blow up the cluster bombs just as you launch them, you can get a pretty rapid rate of explosive attacks going that does pretty good damage. Furthermore, you can put on some decent bleeding stacks on multiple targets, always helpful.
thank you very much for helping me out berkut
and its him o: to clarify xP
No problem, saw it when I opened the thread so it wasn’t too hard to respond.
I try to say him/her if someone hasn’t stated their sex before XD. Need to try to be unbiased.
Your work here in this thread is awesome.
I read that your busy, I would love to get one of my Norn warrior.
The armor is norn cultural armor Tier 3 heavy.Images can be found here.

Snow Zombie has previously requested that people attach the image using the tool built into the forum. This way the image displays within your post, helping him/her to realize you have requested a drawing.
Cheers,
Berk
Hmm, perhaps you should look into this group/guild.
They are a cross server guild that focuses on acting as a method to find players to talk to and play with. I believe many in it enjoy casual pve, it is more of a social gathering and helping guild than anything else (though I am not a member so I can’t say for certain). Might want to give them a look.
Cheers,
Berk
Hmm, I would say probably, you can’t sell it, and it is soulbound. Probably best (in my opinion) to salvage them and see if you get some materials that can make up some of the loss.
Sorry!
Hi there Brtiva, glad to know your enjoying the game, hopefully you find yourself trying and enjoying the other parts of the game at some point, they are quite a bit of fun and I personally think your missing out. That being said, there is nothing wrong with doing what your doing, so if that is what you want to do, awesome
.
There are a few ways of obtaining level 80 armor that I know of (includes all rarities (normal, fine (blue), masterwork (green), rare (yellow), exotic (orange/gold)). They can be: dropped by enemies as loot, crafted from the associated crafting profession, obtained for dungeon tokens from dungeons, obtained for badges of honour from pvp, and of course bought from other players on the trading post (usually for not an excessive amount of money).
*Note that you can also get level 80 masterwork armor from karma vendors. Orr regions also have karma vendors that sell level 80 exotic armor.
Cheers,
Berk
Actually there is, a few of them actually XD.
I love those puzzles ^.^ I find them so enjoyable to try and survive making it through. It might help if you can try it during slower times on your server. The wells mentioned by some of the others can also help you. If you get good enough, you can make it to the top of the monster arena area before your first stealth wears off, and then quickly grab the next one. Even if it takes you a while to do the jumps, you can use the invisibility to practice the jumps in relative safety, and go back and get the stealth as it wears off to continue practicing. That could help you learn the jumps better.
Other pieces of advice I can give is to control your character’s direction by holding down the right mouse button so your character turns as you move the mouse. This helps make turning much more rapid and precise. It also helps you micro manage your jumps mid-flight (you can actually somewhat change your flight orientation after the jump, enough to correct for landing and even curve around pillars somewhat).
I would always be up for helping sometime, unfortunately, it would be very unlikely that we would be on the same server ^.^.
Good luck,
Berk
@Raybunny: Might want to add them as an edit to your first post. Always the chance snowbunny might mistake you as being further down on the list since your pictures are further down, which isn’t true of course since you posted before a few of us.
Awesome fight at cliffside on dr bl just then
DR had almost as many people in the tower as kain had attacking, with our wall being trebbed from garrison. We had sieged up the walls, but werent prepared to have it dropped from such long range. When the wall finally broke, we were able to hold kain back using the breach as a chokepoint for over 5 minutes, until we finally got enough supply in to fix it up. We then returned to the walls to continue killing off kain, but there was no way we were going to take out the garrison treb. The wall fell again 5 minutes later, and this time kain rushed through. We held for a short time at the last bridge, but in the end the victory went to kain.
Well done to all involved, was one of the best battles we’ve seen all week, DR players really got a morale boost from it even though we lost, and heres hoping we can get more like it
Posts like this get me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. This is what WvW was about for me, having enjoyable, heated battles that kept the mind thinking, team work working, and the fun flowing. Glad you got to enjoy a fight this match up ^.^.

But….but what about us who pop in on occasion with a bunch of smiley emoticons……
^.^
It is impressive how much enthusiasm there is for character drawings among the community ^.^.
I have been watching this thread for a while now, and I have to say I am impressed with your work. There are many different artists in this forum, many of which are quite impressive and unique in their drawing style, yours included.
I suppose I will join the long list of people looking to have a sketch done (I would have loved coloured ones, but alas I have spent quite a bit of money right now, perhaps another time). I actually am going to post pics of two characters here, my main (Auri Nimayil, Thief) and another one I quite enjoy (Elinea Firedancer, Elementalist). It would make my day if both of them were drawn, but I realize that is a rather unreasonable request as everyone else gets one drawn (probably best not to break the trend). Ultimately I will leave the final decision on which you draw to you (if one significantly catches your eye), though Auri is my main, so that would be my preference. This is of course if you choose to draw mine at all :P.
Will continue watching your work, hope to see more sketches ^.^
Sincerely,
Berk
@Klhyatt: That must have taken quite a bit of work, thank you for sharing it with us. It is very well done.
For me? A lot of farming (I have played the game a lot, though taking a break right now). I made cash by selling junk, some ectos though not much, and a decent amount selling exotics I made through the mystic forge (probably not a recommended method for that XD).
Very good artwork. Thank you for sharing.
I would imagine quite a few, for a sample, try this website: http://gw2census.com/charts.php
It is a census of characters in the game (as voluntarily inputed by players). Probably has the most accurate set of statistics you could get regarding your above question.
Been a while since I entered wvw. Looks so far that the match up has been more even than in previous weeks for us here at Kaineng, something that makes me excited. Here is to hoping that everyone continues to enjoy the match up. Remember, let’s keep this match up (and the thread) clean and fun for all
.
Well, I suppose the same thing could be said about legendaries. Ultimately though, somethings will be priced exceptionally higher than others. It gives something for people who like to strive towards farming related goals (myself included sometimes) that thing to work for. It ultimately doesn’t limit ones effectiveness to have these items in the game, as they don’t impact your combat capabilities.
As a result, I don’t think that it is a negative to have high priced items in the game (such as cultural gear). In fact, I think it adds to the game, since it adds something to do for that group of players that are looking to grind to get it.
Maybe take a look at the Aureate Sconce?
The legs are vigil medium armor. It is possible, could have bought it using another character, he/she also said that most of it came since around lvl 24, so the chest armor could have come later.
Yes, I forgot to mention that the first of my 3 exotic drops came from beating another player in wvw.
