I have over 1 million karma on my lvl 80 right now and the number is still climing, if that helps you at all.
I have seen that one before, never managed to do it though. Sorry, never played a charr before. Maybe I can get back to you on it in a couple days.
I haven’t really been in wvw much lately, but I can say I am gonna miss your worlds and your players Ferg and ET. Good luck to you both, I hope you continue to enjoy wvw
.
Just to clarify what Lankybrit said, lvl 80 is the max level a weaponry you can get. That said, weapons follow a similar line to armour of: White<Blue (Fine)<Green (Masterwork)<Yellow (Rare)<Orange (Exotic)</=Purple (Legendary). Note that a green may be better than say a rare depending on their respective levels. Currently legendaries are equal to exotic, and will be bumped to ascended class later when ascended weapons begin to appear.
It is rare. Would need fine transmutation stones and the exotic with the stats you want to get assassin’s armor with exotic stats.
1) The order in armor quality goes:
White (normal), Blue (fine), Green (Masterwork), Yellow (Rare), Orange (Exotic), with some Pink (Ascended) currently available through the mystic forge recipes and the fractals of the mist dungeon. Note that not all skins are available in all quality levels, you will need to use transmutation stones (fine transmutation stones for lvl 80 gear) to get one appearance with the stats of something else.
2) Earning gold can be done in lots of ways, a few do trade post merchant work, which earns a tonne but is very intensive. Most I would guess do dungeon runs to make money. Farming enemies in lvl 80 zones is currently not that effective.
3) The legendary pistol is called Quip, the dagger is known as incinerator. Make sure you read up on the wiki their animations and looks to ensure they are for you.
Cheers,
Berk
@Starlifter: There is both the ability to take .jps and .jpeg images in game. If you go to your controls menu in the options. You can keybind both under the screenshots sub-section.
Hmm, does it give any info? As in does it say that you are missing something? Does it show the amounts you need of each resource? Etc.
Welcome to the game Mr Rawky!
For class, I would suggest you spend the first few hours of the game just playing around with different classes and see if any feel cool to you. Some classes are arguably harder to play then others, but I find that, regardless of difficulty, you need to play a class you enjoy to find the game entertaining.
When do you try to get the achievement?
When I did, a couple people I worked with found we could only get it if we did it before the dungeon event was done (before beating Toxx).
Yay for posting my character in multiple threads ^.^
My main character. Auri Nimayil.
9/10
I actually quite like the looks of your character. I think it is well done ^.^.
Two pictures of my main, with slightly different lighting.
I think I’m currently a member of 5? Don’t think I am able to join another either. Not sure if/what the fixed number is for certain though.
Couple things to add to Curae’s excellent post.
A decent way to get a feel for a guild is to try and play and communicate with them. Add a few you have worked with before to your friend’s list and see if their style, personality, humour, etc. fit with what your looking for.
Also, it is important that you examine the requirements of the guild. Some guilds require representation, or require that you do certain activities or donate certain things to remain in the guild. Make sure that the internal regulations of the guild work for you (this can sometimes be found on guild websites if they have one).
The Orr areas work differently I find. The goal of them in a sense is to group events that open up waypoints across the map. Story quests are also prevalent here, in that all the stories converge in Orr.
However, very few people now come to the Orr regions since (in my experience) loot drops are not profitable here compared to other areas of the game (ex. fractals of the mists dungeons, other dungeons). This makes it difficult to explore the Orr areas.
Sorry there isn’t many people around to help you.
Decent thread Spider, I hope you enjoy the game.
Could be more cost effective to just sell your 4 exotic chest armors and buy a different skin from the trade post. Just thought I would throw that out there.
I was just in WvW for a bit and was saddened when I saw people jumping and laughing at corpses of our opponents. It is sad to see that some of my world mates (though not necessarily the majority) have forgotten how to be respectful.

We shall see won’t we?
Not a problem MiceElf, if you need help sometime let me know.
@Dhampyr: You silly, if you need help, just ask sometime :P.
@MiceElf: Couple tactics that help me:
- Turn your character by holding the right mouse button and turning by moving your mouse. It allows for some pretty rapid turning rates compared to using the A and D keys and you can more easily fine tune your direction (your character will run in the direction of your camera by doing this, regardless of the direction your character is facing).
- You don’t always have to be on the platform to still be able to jump. More specifically, many platforms have a bit of ‘lip’ to them, where you can still stand on them while not appearing to be. This can help you to shorten your jump distance. My way of thinking of it is (for a human character) ’jump the instant you think you should start falling).
- You can alter your direction/speed while in mid air. Using the right mouse button technique (likely also with A and D keys) you can turn your character in mid-jump, allowing you to curve your jumps. You can also slow down your jump (ie not travel as far) by pressing the S key while traveling forward (such as when holding the right mouse button) if your going to overshoot a platform.
- For getting around those fire traps in the dark room. Go against the wall, then run into the fire statue that spews the flames. Then, saddle directly to the right, so that you would still be flush with the statue but you move to be clear of the statue so that you can run by it. Then, instead of running, you roll forward through the flames. Alternatively, if your an elementalist, you can use the mist form skill to run through the traps, though this causes you to drop your torch.
- If you lose your torch, the green area associated with aoe attacks before you use them can outline the structures, allowing you to ‘see’. The mist in the dark room can also outline the objects (this is my preferred way to get through this area, as I can remain invisible the entire time so as to not be seen by enemies).
Hope that helps!
Berk
Absolutely,
In my opinion, reviving people during combat plays a key role in keeping your team in the fight. If you allow the enemy to take out your people, then that will alter the numbers ratio between your two teams, giving them a greater advantage than if your people were alive.
In regards to staying alive during large engagements, you may want to consider trying to operate siege gear. Siege gear does the same damage regardless of level or equipment, so if you find you don’t help the team much in front line combat, then you might to a lot better hitting your enemy with an arrow cart that is behind your lines.
You might also survive better if you use your team members as a human shield. It may sound wrong, but part of the advantages of group combat is that you can take turns taking the hits. If your say around half health, you can roll back wards, then disengage and let the other members take your place. In that time, you can use your healing skill(s) and/or maneuver out of combat to regenerate your health while not in combat mode. Then you can move back into combat to relieve the pressure on your allies (while they heal). Note that if your healing skill is still on cool down, you will want to be a bit more cautious in combat, as you won’t have it to heal you if you start taking damage.
Finally, in addition to running supply, a couple more invaluable roles you can fill are to: *Run supplies to repair walls and gates if your are/were being sieged. Fully repaired defenses will hold a lot longer if they attack again than a nearly destroyed one will.
*Act as a scout, you can move with a small team or on your own (if your comfortable with that) and call out to your commanders where enemies are moving, numbers, etc. You can also do this during large scale fights by calling out positions of enemy siege, warn of flanking enemies, etc. Last but not least, you can just check your map for sword icons (big ones (five or more enemies in combat) or smaller white ones on camps/towers/keeps (meaning the defend it event is active)) and inform your commanders of it so they know where enemy movements are.
Hope you continue enjoying wvw!

Not fully sure, but I believe it to be the armor skin that is the medium guild armor. It can be purchased from the guild armorer in some areas (major towns, your wvw borderlands, etc.) if the guild you are representing has the guild armorer contract. Note that it would display that guild’s emblem on the armor pieces.
Not a bad suggestion Death.
In the mean time, here are a few suggestions for you.
1) Most people looking to do dungeons advertise it via map chat either at the dungeon region or Lions Arch. I would say Lions Arch is the most successful place for getting a dungeon party together.
2) There is a website and a guild composed of people who help each other out. Here is their forum thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/OPERATION-UNION-Bringing-Players-Together/first
3) There is a third party website called ‘http://gw2lfg.com/’ without quotations. It could help you find a party.
Good luck!

Ah ok, in regards to your posted example, an item such as that one (the corrupted weapon line) has recipes which are purchased from an NPC following the completion of an event.
The NPC is Rojan the Penitent: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rojan_the_Penitent
He becomes a merchant after defeating the Claw of Jormag: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Claw_of_Jormag
Which is found near Earthshake Waypoint in Frostgorge Sound (level 70-80).
There is a site that has dragon timers for each server, if updated, it will let you know when the event is ongoing (it also provides timers for some other events): http://guildwarstemple.com/dragontimer/
Cheers,
Berkut
Hi Direwulff,
You should check out the guild wars 2 wiki, it can help you with most of your questions.
1) There are indeed some runes and sigils that cannot be crafted. An example is the Rune of Divinity, a very popular rune that can only be obtained (to my knowledge) from salvaging them from exotic armor that has them (so drops).
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rune_of_Divinity
2) Would need more info on what you mean by this, can you give us an example? Are you talking from crafting, drops, mystic forge? etc.
3) Armor Bundle recipes (or at least generic ones) can be found here:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Forge
Use CTRL+F Key and type in armor box, then click through the options to find a generic recipe.
Or, if you don’t feel like doing that:
Generic Recipe for Armor Boxes:
-5 Bottles of Elonian Wine
-20 Crystals
-50 Mystic Coins
-Crafted Chest Piece of Desired Armor
- Supposedly the quantity of each varies depending on the quality of the armor you are making?
Cheers,
Berkut
Might be able to get a better list from the Guild Wars 2 Wiki.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Runes
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sigil
I think that there aren’t as many people looking to craft these things now that the event is over. That would mean very few people could confirm whether the recipe is still functional or not (especially considering that some of the supplies are now a limited quantity).
You could try putting in just a couple of items for the recipe and see if it still acknowledges it (not the right quantities, but all 4 items). If it acknowledges it, that might suggest the recipe is still valid.
You might want to consider just outright buying the item too. Some (such as Arachnophobia) are much cheaper on the Trading Post than it’s components are (it is around 44g or so right now I think).
Farming enemies and resources is where I have gotten a lot of my money from. I also have sold a decent number of exotics for some good cash (though I arguably could have made more from the yellows I put in to get them (mystic forge)).
Not in game right now, let me get back to you on that.
Try looking at this thread, it seems like a great thread if your looking for help or someone to play with.
I think your right in that it is a grey area. The only way to test it would be to take off some armor (say both pieces with major runes) and see if it affects your regeneration rate.
It should be noted though that having major runes of say dwayna don’t get you further up on the superior rune of dwayna’s ability list (and vice versa).
@ Himei: That is only of value to me though if your going for precursors, otherwise your assured to get 1 exotic for 4 put in, which will always be a loss (except for the odd precursor find).
I have gotten exotics (named and otherwise) from rares and rares from masterworks. It does happen, but not all the time .
That would be a no. Actually, I believe that you have a low chance of getting something ‘better’ from the forge. Some have noted they got something worse as well.
I think it would be neat if there were legendary armors, though I agree with elderan that a box set would probably work best.
I would like new armor skins in general though :P.
Playing as a thief, I like to have blinding powder in my skill set. I often use it as a means to cut aggro on a downed player to cause the mobs to select a different target, allowing myself (and others) to rez the downed player without having as much flak come our way. I also like to use the shortbow to teleport to them, helps accelerate my ability to make it to downed players in time.
Perhaps look at the Historia Fia quest in cursed shore, if you talk to Crusader Jasper while Fia is out, it suggests he might have some feelings for her (use the charm option).
Not sure anyone wants to use you as a scapegoat Chaster >.>
Now now, let’s play nice all.
@ Chaster: Not sure that Dhampyr interpreted what you said in the same way you meant it Chaster. Not so much of an immature claim, just one that was made with a different interpretation of what you said than what you meant.
Indeed, as you get further in the fractals of the mist dungeon you begin to build up agony, which quickly drains your health. Ascended items (currently rings and backpacks) can be obtained or created that provide a numerical agony resistance value (one of their stats) and can be infused to provide more agony resistance (not sure if they initially come with agony resistance or not).
Think it might mean Agony Resistance, a stat used in high level fractals of the mists.
Really? That is unfortunate. Sorry to hear that FC.
Applewisp is unfortunately correct. I doubt most people would take a non level 80 into the fractals. Most people will want to assure that their fractals run is as likely to succeed as possible, so they will try to filter out those they think could be a liability.
That being said though, based on my fractals experience (I have only ever done several runs of level 1), I believe low level fractals are more about team coordination and your ability to effectively maneuver around the combat field than team make up or level. I have done the fractals with people not level 80 before and succeeded. There are people (ex. me) who are willing to go through the fractals with people not level 80, so it doesn’t hurt to keep looking.
I would just be up front that your not level 80, so as to be honest with people while you are looking.
Good luck!
Berk
Hi Jeety, below are some answers to your questions.
1) Negatory, your armor and weapons are the same as your pve ones. Expect to have trouble using them against hostile enemies who have better armor. In large engagements, try fighting people not lvl 80 (they have a green arrow beside the 80 number in the top centre icon when targeted) or using placed siege gear (doesn’t matter what level you are for these).
2) I would say you can level up at a decent rate in WvW, but I would guess (guess being the key word) that PvE would be faster.
3) Enemies drop loot in WvW, much like enemies in PvE, the gear is roughly leveled to your level, so you can use it. You also can get badges of honour tokens from enemies and through other means (ex. WvW jumping puzzles). That can be used to purchase leveled gear, unique gear, siege weapons, and a component for legendaries.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me here, via pm, or in game, WvW is very confusing when starting but also very enjoyable.
Cheers,
Berk
Hi Latso. If you press ‘Y’ on your keyboard, you will bring up your friends list page. Near the top of that page, you can add friends by typing in their name (I believe either their account name (eg. Latso.2498) or their character name). Alternatively, if you are with them, if you left click on them, then right click on their portrait (party portrait or their top centre portrait when targeted) you can select ‘add as friend’ or something like that.
Cheers,
Berk
1) I think that they can be very helpful depending on how they play. Small groups can relay information to the large groups, sneak attack enemy fortifications and remove hostile siege, repair walls, prevent enemy reinforcements from reaching a major engagement, etc. If they are trying to work with a coordinated main force in some way, then I think that they can be very strategic and affect the outcome between servers that are otherwise balanced. Even lone wolfs can be helpful if they do the right things (some has to repair those walls ^.^).
2) My server has been blue the past few weeks, though we are back to red now (Kaineng).
Really? Which one is it???
Dulfy posted a staff gallery several weeks ago, be sure to take a look yourself.
http://dulfy.net/2012/11/13/gw2-staff-skin-gallery/
I find it interesting that there is a picture of final rest on a character XD.
