Not sure which staff it could be, these are the closest I could come up with:

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Gnarled_Walking_Stick.jpg
Let me know if it is any of those
Don’t quote me on this, but I think they are account bound. Might be best to wait for someone knowledgeable on the situation to reply.
Didn’t know Darxio left for ET. Still, if that makes him happy, then it was the right choice
.
I am glad to see more ET members posting here, it is great to get to know you better. After all, WvW is so much funner when you know the people on the other side and you can all get along while having a friendly match.
Wiki has a decent list, it is just somewhat harder to find:
Might also want to mention your server Purring. Good luck to you and I hope you find a cool group to play with.
I consider myself to be lucky to have even passed 100g. No where near the kind of money that these are posted for XD.
As do I with Dev Karg. Hope you find a tier where you can have matches that are balanced at enjoyable for all involved
.
Well…..is it a sell price or a buy order? You can make buy orders for account bound items I believe (someone made a request for an account bound food item for like 300g last week if I remember correctly).
There is a little thread that is stickied in this section of the forums that is talks a bit about lvl 80. Admittedly the ‘endgame’ lvl 80 isn’t for everyone, but it gives a modest overview of what you can do.
WvW has plenty of dead players.
Last night was great fun for me. I felt that there were lots of battles in EB that were relatively balanced. I spent most of my play time working on preventing Fergusons from capturing Durios (around 8:00pm to 11:00pm eastern time). We would get pushed to Durios, repel them (usually no siege was laid), then take Umber and move to Bravost. We would skirmish there for a while until Fergusons managed to push us back (sometimes via wiping us) and they would take umber back. It was awesome that both our groups were balanced enough that we were able to take each other out given the right circumstances.
I was the thief who kept tossing scorpion wires all over the place.
Hope we can all continue having an enjoyable time in wvw!
Loot from those spawns isn’t even the greatest Vakat, the small ones that explode don’t seem to give experience anymore (so they don’t seem to give loot either). Very little loot to have there now.
Any suggestions as to what could be improved?
@Kaboo: Yes, that was the most helpful post ever >.> (note sarcasm). Some people have a hard time with it and that is ok, it isn’t intuitive to everyone.
@Original Poster: It is difficult for us to describe a lot of what you have asked in a written format. If we were on the same server I could help you out, also, feel free to message me here on the forums if you want to go over some terminology for the game or your skills. You can also likely find some helpful tutorial videos on youtube that can help show you some useful tips via actual gameplay footage.
Hang in there, it is a fun game once you get used to it.
Welcome to T8 ET! Hope you like it down here, let’s have a fun and clean game.
Don’t quote me as I am not 100% sure, but I believe that fixed recipes have fixed results (unless it is a mystic clover or material upgrade one).
Can always do the jumping puzzles for badges Himei. Some might disagree with doing that, but it is a substantial source of badges.
Which one of us are you talking to? XD
Thanks for trying to exclude us Delarme XD :P.
I most likely won’t be on, have fun with your dance party.
Congratulations on your legendary. I was probably one of those invaders that was helping you achieve your legendary by being there for you to flag finish XD.
Pretty sure number 2 on your list is the lvl 80 exotic light armor you can purchase for badges of honor in wvw. If you go into wvw borderlands (for your world) and run south of your spawn, there should be a merchant there (there are 3 standing in a triangle formation) that you can preview the armor to confirm.
Interesting analysis Sumwun. I think that, somewhat, all servers have this issue on occasion. In the case of Devona’s Rest, you might not be seeing the development of more coordinated and tactical gameplay because there isn’t a perceived necessity to improve. What your currently doing is, for the most part, working. Until something comes and effectively forces Devona to improve, there will likely be little motivation to do so.
Maybe you will see some of the things you want to see occur if Devona’s Rest has a harder time in T7? Only one way to find out.
Note that what I said above isn’t necessarily true, it is just a potential thought that I have rambled :P.
That could be true hero, I have 40 corrupted lodestones, but have never gotten a corrupted core. Meanwhile, I have had roughly the same amount of glacial and molten lodestones/cores.
Well…..not sure if people use cores for much else other than lodestone upgrading, but I would guess cores are less common than lodestones. Not saying they have a lower probability of dropping, but they are obtained from a lower level mob range no? Most people looking to get these materials are likely level 80, so they would be in level 80 zones (or the highest they can be for what they are going for) farming for lodestones, not cores.
But…..but I like being a casual WvWer! :P
Indeed, Darxio’s advertisement certainly sounded daunting. Map chat in my experience is often very friendly. Darxio may be speaking out of experience from wearing the commander tag (commander directed comments that most of us might not see). Either way, Kaineng is often very friendly in chat.
@Slim: No, I have only had one exotic drop from a regular chest/mob ever and it was off a player in wvw (have gotten others via mystic forge and fractals chests).
In regards to precursor’s from mobs, someone that was in the same guild as me linked me a dusk he got while we were in cursed shore. He was farming plinx at the time, though he wasn’t certain at what point he got it, as he was just grabbing the loot during the events and didn’t see it until later.
@Shaka: Might want to consider installing scented oil pouches in your armor to cover those unseemly warrior smells (aka armor of comfort from Neverwinter Nights ).
@KwayZee: Think I have seen some of the temples open once in the past 2-3 weeks on Kaineng :P.
Righteo Etna, thank you for the well wishes and good luck in Ehmry Bay. I hope you all enjoy the wvw scene there.
Hi Boldor, it’s tough when you first get into wvw. PvP experiences are very challenging to get accustomed to when your used to PvE. What you were facing in both instances were likely glass cannon builds. Opposite to you, they have very low health but high power and precision. As an example, my thief only has 10900 (approx.) compared to your 25k.
The thief was using their number 5 skill when using two daggers ‘Cloak and Dagger’. Upon a successful hit, the thief inflicts 3 stacks of vulnerability on you and cloaks for 3 seconds, being able to unleash a strong dagger attack coming out of invisibility. Against a thief in this instance (and other glass cannons), your best method of defense is to dodge as many of their attacks as you can. These builds rely strongly on not getting into prolonged fights, as they don’t have the health to survive sustained hits. It is also important to put on the pressure when they begin to get into trouble to prevent them from healing and cloaking again to either escape or reposition.
In terms of how to improve in general for wvw, I would suggest you try to avoid fighting alone. Try to find yourself a pick up group, or join the ‘zergs’ (large groups of roaming people to practice a bit when you have allies nearby. Important suggestions I can give for wvw group combat is:
1) Watch your health, your of better use to your team alive then downed/dead. If your getting low on health, retreat to the back of your group to disengage and heal.
2) Watch for downed allies, if you see allies that are downed and you wouldn’t get obliterated trying to heal them, then heal them. A downed ally can be brought up in seconds, which is very much not the case for a dead ally. Keeping your numbers up is important in preventing the enemy from getting the upper hand in group battles.
3) Scan around you a lot, people like to flank and back attack as much as possible in single or group combat. You need to be check your sides and back often (you being yourself in 1v1 or the group for group engagements). If you see enemies moving on your sides, let the group know as quickly as possible.
4) Use/avoid siege depending on whether allies or enemies are using them, a few well placed siege will cream groups if they aren’t ready for it.
5) Watch for aoe circles, most damage will come in the form of aoe attacks (due to siege and player aoe to attack groups). Make sure your always checking your feet for enemy aoe circles (shown as a red line forming a circle on the ground) and evacuate it ASAP.
Hope that helps, good luck in WvW.
Sometimes my computer just reboots for no reason…
No it doesn’t
Maybe not reboot, but others may have internet connectivity problems. I was often getting internet dropped every 10 minutes some nights as my computer would lose internet connectivity (which led to some unfortunate log outs during fights in wvw ). Thankfully my internet provider is now different and I have had no connection problems, so it won’t affect me. But I could see how it could affect some.
Thank you Habib and the rest of the development team for this update. It will be very interesting to see how this affects the way that wvw plays.
Slightly off-topic, I think Crystal Lodestones are in the same boat no?
On topic, I have obtained a destroyer lodestone from a mining bag (the kind you click on in your inventory to get items from them) that dropped from a dredge in the fractals dungeon. I am unsure of the probability of obtaining one through this means, but it might help you if your attempting to farm them.
Lately I have been doing similar Mampie. Though for me it is mostly spending my wvw time running back and forth repairing walls after our team defended a place then moved on to counter attack. Someone has to do it :P.
So much hate thrown around on these forums…..
What did we do on the reset?
Are we sure that it is a crafted recipe? Always the chance it could be like final rest and only obtainable from a drop.
Congrats. I’ve only ever gotten one exotic from a drop (rest from mystic forge or map completion). Oddly enough it was from wvw XD. Very generous of you to give it to your friend
.
Last night at Kaineng Overlook in EB was immense fun. Great effort from both Devona’s Rest and Kaineng. Lot of back and forth throughout the area. Did you guys finally take the keep?
Doubt any of you would have noticed me, I was the one firing the cannon on you just before you breached the first wall and the one using the ballistae when you tried to get to the second wall gate near the lion statue.
Thanks Habib. We shall see if this at least partially improves the situation. I appreciate the effort regardless.
Thank you Draygo I just learned that we will be blue for only the second time in Ferg’s history! Hurray!
Congrats to Fergs then.
I’m happy that we’ll have one more match up before DR moves up. Still been my favorite group of worlds so far in my wvw game experience. Hoping you all have fun mashing away at each other during the coming week. Let’s also try to keep the angry drama and unnecessary insults down to a minimum
.
I have indeed upgraded minors to majors and majors to superiors. You simply put in 4 runes of the same level to have it work. Note that you are not guaranteed to get a same rune back if you put in 4 runes of the same type (ex. I put in 4 minor runes of divinity and got a major rune that was not of divinity (was Lyssa I think)).
Guardians should be able to at least delay it with their aoe knocback skill. Should be enough time for at least most thief stealths to end unless they use the aoe stealth skill. I would say some classes have more difficulties like the Warrior. Their disrupting skill is a single target attack, so they cannot stop a thief in stealth as they cannot target the thief to use the skill.
Hmm, will have to see how this plays out for the rest of the week. May need to break out the ‘come to Kaineng’ recruitment adds again.
Being a thief who stealth executes I’m probably biased. I think there are merits to having it both count as a hostile action and not count as a hostile action.
On 1v1 I can see how it could be very annoying (okay, I can see how it would be annoying either way XD). Mostly in that there isn’t much you can do if you can’t aoe in downed state (guardian).
In major, multi-person engagements though I think that it can make things interesting. The thought of having of having to watch for stealthing thieves and try to coordinate to save downed allies appeals to me I guess :P).
Recipes are learned through three methods ballblade:
1) Obtained just by ranking up in the crafting profession.
2) Discovery, in the discovery tab of your crafting window you can grab items and put them in the 4 boxes in the centre of the window. The game will only let you input items that work together, so there is no fear of wasting resources. Many items are discovered this way (I would say most), such as some runes.
3) Recipe items, these are obtained from karma merchants or other means (some can be dropped in certain circumstances. Double clicking on a recipe item consumes it and puts the associated craft in your crafting options.
Note that not all things can be crafted. An example of this is the Superior Rune of Divinity. It can only be obtained via salvaging exotics that you obtain that have the rune on it.
Hope that helped,
Berkut
Sad to hear that Noobler. Will miss you in the Kaineng Server. I wish both your guilds the best in the future.
Should be some recipes that are 400 only, think all recipes using omnomberries are lvl 400.
Pretty sure wvw vendors near the exotic gear merchant sells non lvl 80 gear, that may be what you are looking for.
