I think its already been talked about plenty. Anet has seen every argument – on both sides – 1000+ times at this point.
Only thing a post like this will do is start another war on the forums.
As long as raids do not hinder the rate at which they introduce other new content (guild missions, fractals, new maps, living story, pvp maps, etc), it shouldnt be a problem.
If they do, then yes, it is a direction many of us would rather they avoid (as fun as raids are).
Still broken as of last night.
Really don’t know how this can go this long. It is starting to impact event attendance.
Also agree. Please do something about this before worrying about new item.s
New week of guild missions just started and they are still extremely buggy and performing counterproductive to guild advancement or enjoyment.
Noticed there werent any rushes and only one puzzle in this week’s pve mission line up – so maybe they have taken notice.
Hope that isnt the approach they take moving forward, however. This still REALLY needs to be fixed this week.
At this point, they should delay raids and the other new stuff until they get some of the bigger game breaking bugs (like missions, map rewards, missing scribing mats) fixed. \
There are big chunks of the game that just arent working right now.
Considering that tonight is reset and it is very unlikely they will have this fixed before that time, they should just give us Challenges and Bounties next week to avoid issues. Both of those seem to be working properly.
Rushes (races now), Puzzles and Treks seem to be way too buggy and should be excluded until they get the game working properly.
It truly is disturbing that they’ve let this issue persist since the launch of the expansion without even an acknowledgment.
This really needs to be fixed. It is hindering guild advancement and, more importantly, it has turned something that was fun and, for the most part, bug-free, into a stress filled buggy mess.
Out next guild missions are on Monday.
Really hoping they fix before mission reset so we don’t have to suffer through another week of this.
Guild missions are still a complete disaster in terms of players not getting rewards, the finish line not working on rushes, pvp missions only giving credit to one team even if multiple win in the time frame, the guild portal splitting parties apart and minimaps not showing the correct zone (especially troublesome on maze areas).
What about those players, like myself that have not been credited with a variety of map completions including Verdant Brink.. I thought there were reward items that could in turn block progress – what is happening about this bug???
I’m sorry, I don’t know about that. Could you kindly submit a ticket, since this is a different issue than the one covered in this thread? I believe that the Customer Support Team will be able to answer your question.
I can answer this one! It was addressed in another thread. There is indeed a different issue that is preventing people from getting map completion rewards. With this issue, your progress isn’t reset – you still have the map explored, you just don’t get a reward when you finish. We’re aiming to have it fixed in the next patch, so just go back to those maps next Tuesday to get your goodies. If for whatever reason the fix doesn’t make it in, we’ll keep you posted.
What about those players not getting rewards from completing guild missions?
Forum page bug strikes again.
These bugs are making guild nights no fun anymore.
Im not sure they understand how big a blow this is to many guilds.
As far as Im concerned – raids – squad ui – even the new legendaries – they can all wait. This needs someone’s full attention right now. The night that most in my guild look forward to the most has turned into a logistics and buggy disaster.
The HUGE (and well documented – over and over) issues with guild missions and the missing scribing mats are the two big ones that I see.
I really think they should stop talking about raids (and possibly even delay their launch) until they can get these basic – very important – things fixed.
I really wish they would stop talking about raids until they at least let us know what is being done to fix this HUGE issue.
Hit a wall with scribing around level 150. Seems like they may have forgotten to add quite a few scribing mats to the game or many of us simply cannot find them.
Has anyone seen any of the following item?:
- Bags of Mortar
(updated thread based on recent discoveries)
(edited by Blaeys.3102)
This really needs to be addressed before the next mission reset. It is extremely frustrating and makes missions more frustrating than fun.
- An acknowledgement of these issues and that they are being worked on
This would help a lot. I worry that raids, being a more external newsworthy item, may be taking more focus than they deserve right now.
I can also guarantee that if, on day one, raids have the same loot issues were seeing in guild missions right now, the devs will be all over it. The bugs with guild missions should get the same level of attention (more given they are a more immediate need right now).
I just hope that, in all the excitement about raids, they still take the time to fix these issues. These bugs are completely unacceptable and, for many, game breaking.
Last night, which is usually my favorite night of the week due to missions, turned into a stressful disaster. This needs attention – no matter what else might be going on with the game right now.
Bugs we saw last night with guild missions -
1. Limited number of people received rewards from the Puzzle.
2. People didnt transform when crossing finish line for Quaggan Paddle.
3. Even though it said we had 15 across on Quaggan Paddle, we did not get reward (personal or guild) when the race finished.
4. Using the guild portal to go to Southsun placed people at a camp one second before it became contested and overrun with Karka. Since they didnt have a waypoint in the zone, it seriously slowed us down.
5. Mini maps for puzzle and challenge did not match the event we were actually doing. One showed a pvp map and the other showed dredgehaunt for some reason (even though we were in Southsun).
How have these HUGE bugs gone unaddressed (AT ALL) in two weeks.
Just ran guild missions for the week and they are still EXTREMELY broken. People still arent getting personal rewards, guild rushes that overlap with other guilds wont finish/give guild credit, the guild portal sends people to their death, etc
This should have been a fun night and it was just pure frustration – on everyone’s part. Please Anet – make guild missions fun again. Fix the bugs.

Even if people get their weekly rewards, they can always raid a second night on an alt to get more practice in a different role. Anyone so selfish that they won’t raid a second night per week to help guildies get it done is probably not worth raiding with in the first place.
That is really dependent on how much of a time investment raids really are. If a raid takes hours to complete or requires constant wipes to practice (which they probably should), then that 11th, 12th, etc person will probably be SOL, regardless of their skill as a raid. That is the simple truth of fixed number raiding (not taking a stance either way – just pointing out the math of it).
I love this game, but this one thing is really hurting the experience for a lot of people. The expansion came with no new guild missions, and now the old ones we enjoyed are BADLY broken.
I know they want to limit the number of bug fixes so they can get raids out, but there is no excuse for letting this remain the way it is. It has been pointed out as broken for a few weeks now and Anet hasnt even acknowledged that it is an important issue for them.
The launch went really smooth, but these deeper game breaking (and that isnt an exaggeration – this is game breaking for guilds that want to play together) bugs really need to be addressed before worrying about bringing new content into the game.
As much as I love them, guild missions are in horrible shape right now. Anet letting the personal reward issue go this long without even acknowledging it is inexcusable.
And one more to add – when we had the Proxemics Lab puzzle last week, the puzzle room at the end didn’t show up on the minimap. We had to navigate by feel and by memory. Made it very awkward and added difficulty for the wrong reason.
Guild missions are still my favorite part of the game, but the lack of support for them (no new ones with expansion – and now the ones we did have are basically broken) is disturbing.
Players still aren’t receiving rewards for completing guild missions.
Also, scribing seems to cap out around lvl 150 due to items missing from the game.
This has happened to my guild as well.
Fixing the missing rewards needs to be a priority.
I keep seeing people talk about how much they dislike the new maps and that saddens me.
The new maps have revitalized WvW for my guild and several others I know. They feel more strategic, more engaging for groups of all sizes and more fun in general.
I know I will get attacked (it is the forums) just for daring to like something in the game, but I think people need to give them more of a chance. Dont dismiss just because it is something new and will take time for people to learn.
The one I have the biggest issue with is guild missions only giving personal rewards to a percentage of the people participating. This has happened two weeks in a row now at multiple guild missions, most notably puzzles, rushes and challenges.
It is REALLY frustrating given how important guild missions are to guild health and growth.
Figured it out. Need lvl 100 in scribing and didnt have that when I started this post.
WvW always slows down during holiday events and new PvE content.
Give it time and things will bounce back, no matter what the naysayers say.
While it is true that holiday events, and new PvE content effect WvW populations to an extent, I have never seen it this bad before.
You’ve never seen a full expansion to the game before either.
Give it time.
There also needs to be some clear way to tell which team (red, blue, etc) you are on as you are actually fighting – and, even more importantly, a way for spectators watching from the stands to see who is on which team.
- Guild Missions arent providing personal rewards for many participants.
- Key low scribing materials (embroidered silk) and recipes (sabotage supplies) seem to be missing even if you have the appropriate levels unlocked.
- If you open a guild hall upgrade vendor and then open the guild roster, the game crashes.
- Guild pvp arena waypoint keeps disappearing
- Guild pvp arena doesnt show which team you are on.
- If you switch maps in the guild hall and you are in the arena area, everyone is moved to the same team.
- if multiple people enter the guild hall at the same time, they end up on separate instances and people have to leave/reenter to make it work.
- The guild favor level keeps jumping from extremely low to extremely (astronomically) high.
- Cannot trigger sabotage supplies in WvW even with one built (the free one they gave us for unlocking it) – when the camp is at tier one and claimed (the listed prerequisites).
- If you switch guild halls, the decorations remain and can end up way up in the air or stuck inside walls.
I know Anet is in a hurry to get raids out, but right now, I think some of these crippling bugs (especially big ones like guild missions not giving rewards) need to be fixed first.
We hit lvl 20 today and did the medium guild rush we just opened – this time with about 12 people. Only about 6 people received the reward.
I know Anet wants to limit the number of bug fix patches, but this is a pretty serious flaw, considering the importance of missions to growing guild halls.
Has no one else experienced this issue?
Unlocked the sabotage supply guild hall upgrade and can’t figure out how to make the schematics at the workshop.
Anyone know how to do this – or if it might be bugged in some way?

Last night, we did PVE guild missions with about 50 people. Even though every one of them finished the puzzle, only about 15 received the commendation and other personal rewards. The same thing happened on the trek (medium difficulty version) and the single target bounty. For the race (rush), out of 50, we had about 5 not receive the reward.
Some of these people hadnt done missions with any guild in months.
I asked those affected to submit individual bug reports, but this seems like a larger system issue. Please – if possible – fix this before the mission reset next week. Missions are more important than ever to guild growth and unity.
From Guild Leader to Guild Beggar in HoT flat
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

As the leader of a very large active guild, I love the new system. Yes, I have had to remind players we need certain mats a few times, but I wouldn’t call it begging.
Most of the time, I log on to find that members are actually supporting the guild without any reminders.
What I find works best is simply letting players know what youre building next (or, even better, getting their feedback on direction) – if they are truly interested in supporting your guild, you’ll find they will take the initiative themselves. Last night during a guild event, I mentioned we needed mugs and empty kegs. A few minutes later, we had almost all we needed.
The system rewards guilds that work together – and I love that.
Let’s be realistic on this one. It is very likely that they are not able to track how much influence guilds spent using the broken system – and that adding influence to the game now may simply not be possible. If that is the case, it will be very difficult to arrange refunds.
I am one that spent at least 200K (probably closer to 400K) thinking that it was actually speeding up aetherium when it wasnt (really easy to do), but, if it isnt possible for my guild to get it back, Im not going to overly worry about it.
I hope they can do something, but also realize that, on this one, we may just have to accept that these kind of things happen and move on.
Thank you so much for Heart of Thorns. It has been an amazing few days and a lot of fun for our guild.
Last night, in between guild missions, my guild, Contemporary Heroes, had our annual Halloween party in our brand new guild halls (started in one then went and unlocked the other ).
Had 21 people enter our costume contest. Got a little crazy and creative. Winner was dressed as Leonardo the Ninja Turtle. We also had Edward and a Chimera, Jack Sparrow, Cupid, Kane for Alien, Batman, and a bunch more.
As far as we (CH) are concerned, this expansion is a home run start to finish.
Youre thinking of the guild rush. The Trek only requires you to visit 5 locations and interact with them in a 15 minute time period.
You’re right.
But at the moment, under my missions list, I only have two “Races”, one in Diessa’s Plateau (Devourer Burrow) and the other in Lornar’s Pass (Bear Lope), and iirc those were the old guild rushes.
Before next, week, set your options to “PVE only” (unless of course, you would rather do the PvP or WvW ones, which both have very easy options as well).
Awesome.
Now go do it again on ten other characters. From the exact same hero points every single time.
It is actually a lot easier the second, third, etc times through since you have many of the masteries needed to get the easier ones first.
System actually makes a lot of sense – even from an alt perspective.
9 out of 10 so far.
No.
The guild trek lvl 1 is one of this weeks pve guild missions. That one can be completed VERY EASILY with ONE person.
That gets you the influence you need (more actually).
Groups of 4 and 5 have easily captured a guild hall.
It may take a week or two longer for a tiny guild to get a war room, but it is very very very very possible (very easy actually).
I was under the impression that Guild Treks would work the same as before, i.e. you need at least X different players to complete the race to get the reward.
Now you can do it in solo and get the Favor points nonetheless?

Guys, let me get one thing straight.
I have a very small guild since day one, years ago, and I managed to get some upgrades, notably the guild stash+trove+deep cave.
If I understand correctly, with the new system there’s no more any opportunity to create such a guild and upgrade the guild stash without doing missions, which require a good amount of players? Before we could play in any way we wanted and earn some influence nonetheless, now this is all gone, so new small guilds are substantially shafted, am I rite?
No.

People want to ignore this because they decided before the expansion that they would be shafted, but the reality is very different.

The guild trek lvl 1 was one of the guild missions this week. That particular mission can be completed SOLO. That earns more than enough favor to open the guild hall expedition (even if you didnt have the influence to trade)
Guilds as small as 4 or 5 have opened guild halls, and Im pretty sure a really strong 3 person group could do so.
It sounds like they have done a good job giving very tiny guilds an option.
Definitely excited for HOT.
Thank you Anet for the tremendous effort, the past three years of fun and all the fun I (and my guildees) anticipate having with you for the years to come.
