Really any, IF a nice programmer would plug miss sass’ and my /Moon command into the sandbox.
Until THEN, i suggest bringing your moosie or reindeer tonics.

@OP +1
Personally I enjoy the management aspect of the Ranger profession.
Wishlist – eventually be able to charm a tiger spider pet.

Four Star Mary — Hello It’s Me
Best post I’ve seen in a while by the way.
Wait a second. The/A Producer for Anet hadn’t played WvW prior to that? Yikes…
There are many producers here! I am quite new to the company, and I do not produce for a team that is related to WvW in almost any way; trust me, if I were I would have played WvW prior to my starting here
brave soul
thx for playing with us, always appreciated!
For the Churl!!!

FYI, check this discussion if you haven’t seen it. Many well developed thoughts along the same line.
Yeah but for as much as it would be nice to at least give those ideas a try/test phase… it’s a complete rework of a class, in a game that is more than 2 years old. Not gonna happen.
What I am talking about is not a rework at all and could be implemented with the equivalent of a “blink of an eye” of a game programmer.
you know, I just had this discussion with a programer at breakfast this morning. They are of the same opinion, 2 years R I P. Why won’t I migrate already and stop stealing all the waffels :/

Looking at the entire game I’d always say Power.
Why?
- In PvP, it really doesn’t matter what you “go for with your char”, as gear is separate and freely picked. Check whatever is missing in your team and pick that role, if it uses power then gear for that, if it uses condi then gear for that. If it uses healing power… well we don’t really have that but you know, then go for that.
- In WvW and PvE, roughly half the contexts are fine either way. The other half favour power. Assuming you don’t want to constantly lug around multiple gear sets, you can skip a lot of headaches by simply going for power.
- There’s a single situation which favours condi to a significant degree (1v1 roaming). However, from a perspective of playing to win, this is a situation you will want to avoid. 1v1 fights take long and provide virtually no benefit, especially since our condi specs lack stopping power necessary to snipe enemy reinforcements. Even then, so many other situations favour power, it’s not useful to gear for this specific situation.
IMHO +1 here.
But no one would ever call me best mes or best anything in the game for that matter. Maybe best lama face irl, idk.
Happy Day Fellow Mesez!
:)
P.S. ileap still gives me a lama headache. So I leave dat one to da Hamster-ites.

Best of Luck Mr. Sharp. Thank you for all the work you have done to make our game a better place!
If we are sticking with the seasons concept, what about considering something like a Big Ten Conference method (american college football – which eveyone knows is the only football worth cheering for).
-Go Bucks!
[err, um, i mean Go [Server]/[Server’s] playoff guilds!]
The ability to quickly transfer blueprints among players in the middle of combat can be an important piece in accomplishing battle objectives. Siege wallet would be helpful so long as it did not make siege account bound (non-transferable between players).
This might be difficult from an implementation perspective on Anet’s end given that (I believe?) existing wallet items are account bound. Personally I would be thrilled to see the type of ‘account bag slot’ referenced by ShiningMassXAcc.4735 above.

Just in case you needed a laugh – thx for all you do for us.
Happy Friday!

Don’t let me down Anet. I know you are going to portalbomb us all with some fabulous use for the spikes. After all, you enhanced the GUI for spikes in the September release pack.
I can’t wait to see what team Anet has in store for us!
P.S. Yes, WvW is pricey. Some increased incentive basis would be much appreciated. Unfourtunatly, the soup and structure upgrades don’t grow on trees in the Mists.

This post is going to make numerous “Ranger People” happy. I suppose it was going to happen one day and it finally did. In a fair fight, my skirmish might warrior was bested. I am owning my failure in a public fashion as I have advocated Ranger uselessness for a long time.
I did win the first round. The second round I failed to manage my health pool and allowed the ranger to use a terrain advantage to kite me. Subsequent rounds were effectively a draw although the Ranger fared better than I. Both of us could easily reset the fight but this is the first “fair” fight where a ranger has clearly been up to the task.
I don’t remember the guild name, but that person is the best player I have seen on a Ranger to date. Congrats Rangers… you are now 1 out of a few thousand.
You made me do a little Nornish Ranger dance with that tale today!

+1 for what the Topcheekiest Asuran said. More fun if you survive a fight or two. Unless, of course, you get ambushed by that ultra bear bow power ranger in the pink hat.

Siege Disabler is OP. Time to ram my big dumb norn head against the door.
Mortars are used by the Asura to insert said asura and fling them onto the other side of the enemy for ambush techniques.
The flappy ears give them an accelerated trajectory.
I find observation to be vital in both games. But that could be derivative of my pedagogy. Welcome and Best of Luck!

The Dream, the Dream … just roll with it and bring Week 1 of New Seasons home man …
Thanks everyone. Hopefully someone at ArenaNet read this and found it useful too
I like the idea that WVW (or AVA if it comes to that) should be the ultimate battle, where a lot is lost (1 gold per guild cata!) and a lot can be gained (Hamster.4861 has some great ideas there)
:D
+1 this in all seriousness. And at the risk of being trolly (but with the best of intentions), I also hope someone at ArenaNet has seriously considered the thoughts expressed here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Proposal-PvP-Map-Rotation-for-Borderlands
There are excellent existing physics mechanics (see below) that could be adaptively reused (IP law OP — Embrace Simplicity) to make wvw a fresh and lively experience:
-Vigil Megalazer/Skyhammer Cannon for defensive play
-Tequalt/Skyhammer Launch pads for offensive play
- Quicksand from Drytop for guerilla tactics
- Power Keg (Angvat’s Trove) + Bridge Destruction (ETOM) for offensive play
All should obviously come at an appropriate price (commanders stop being entirely whiney about wanting things for nothing, Anet needs a viable business model too. And its team does apparently create beloved products. They deserve a fair ROI for this. Economics killed Diablo, don’t get so grouchy that it kills gw2 as well).

Mathematically , 4 weeks with only 6 servers following a swiss system was not the right thing to do.
Why cant we just have 4 weeks of pure random matchups.
I am only agreeing with you because you are a topcheeckie Asuran with megaflappy ears. No, in all seriousness I kind of like this idea. Might be interesting to do on a beta basis.
That is such a good thread title Mr Swift. Ok, lemme think on the rest of your post now …
Lol I was wondering when he was going to get to the part where we eat enemy babies.
Fixed ;P
nah, it was Dingos I tell you. :P

don’t forget to have fun!
By the OPs definition, I would say Mantra Mesmer is the most mechanically intensive profession, since you have to know when to use your multiple mantras and watch the entire fight around you while still using your other abilities in between mantras at the right time along with just surviving and good positioning. Being able to weave mantras in between casting other abilities at the same time is no easy feat, especially when having to press 2-4 different buttons at the same time for almost the entire duration of the fight.
Mantra Mesmer can be v challenging and fun. Didn’t really try it until a few months back. fun fun stuffs. AIM, stop giving me cookies
I’d love to be in on this. Just came back to the game.
IGN: Tealot
Server: Fort Aspenwood
Gameplay: Mostly SPvP, PvE for leveling toons and looking to dabble in W3
Role: Scholar Mostly, but Tester too.
Time: US Eastern Time, usually late nights and weekends.
ohh, love the name
I can’t help but laugh. The quality of this game is beyond belief. AAA MMO!
we AIM to please, even if some hamsters call us cheeze
works fine, just find the implimentation peeps.
now dat moa on the other hand, way OP. major nerf needed there
or replace moa with smth useful! like a 25% movement elite signet!
ohh, now that could be candy. do do do do …. can’t touch this!
happy wednesday fellow mez-es!

Tie any rewards for WvW, including Karma, coin and loot drops to the server population balance at any given moment, a modifier to multiply your chances. To maximize reward you will want to play during non-peak times or against a force larger then yours. Once the large, highly populated servers realize that they get more bang for the buck on the lower populated servers they will move. Over time it will all balance out. No need to change population caps.
Now that’s a decent idea
how would that differ from this? Asside from the fact that I love charzookas n all …
dancing skyhammah for prez
I have a feeling you were not there. If only the camera could pan to the steps of our keep. There was an equal group there with thieves and mesmers cloaking. We backed them up several times and found that out.

oww, oww, my leg my leg
Just another week in WvW. There is literally nothing that sets this week, next week, or the two weeks following that apart from the weeks preceding or following it

LOL’d pretty hard at that.
+1 to implementing this.
SC hat for da win
I personally believe it should cost nothing to start an upgrade. If anything use badges as wvw currency. Its such a waste of money especially places like Anz in current state of wvw wxp/karma trains where people barely defend anymore.
^^ If badges are specific wvwvw currency they should have more benefit to being utilized in that realm.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders – The most famous of which is “never get involved in a land war in Asia” – but only slightly less well-known is this: “Never go in against a Ranger underwater when death is on the line”*

If you want to prevent Spawn camping, Give us the Vigil Megalaser from Teq and put two of em at the end of every spawn, facing the EB keep. Give it the range, and double the damage of a regular cannon.
enemy player walks over to your spawn, shoot with laser. enemy dies.
ohh, did someone say we get to play lazers???? is nom going to come play lazers too?
