i would LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE if we had on the sword 1 the same effect as the ranger has on the sword, wen the 2nd hit on the auto attack they leap abit and its a gap closer i think it could be perfect

Please, for the love of god, no.
I don’t think anyone is even remotely as excited or involved with the class as I am, but I would instantly give up on the entire class if we get some variation of the horrible Ranger sword autoattacks.

Sayeh would be cool, but while I’m not much of a lore person if Charr aren’t involved, I don’t think we know much of anything about Largos.

I think getting a lot of lore revealed through this one legend on one class would upset a lot of people.

I can see your point. But Herald is about supporting and buffing and the trait slots in nicely with the traitline. Meanwhile in the Ventari line we can see it’s all about healing and not damage mitigation. the trait makes sense where it is.

This is like trying to argue that the increased endurance regen or protection from Glint’s elite doesn’t make sense, because ‘’you don’t want to dodge or reduce your damage when you use the heal’’.

The only problem I have with the trait is that the protection duration is really short. if you aren’t running Ventari and getting nearly 100% uptime it’s rather weak with the high cooldown heals from other legends.

I think it’s fine. You aren’t forced to run Glint if you take the Herald line and it’s not just protection for yourself. It’s a 600 range group protection. All of that aside I use Glint’s heal more like a Guardian uses Shelter. I ’’block’’ one big attack with it instead of taking damage and trying to frantically heal up the damage I took afterwards.

Not to mention it currently has no internal cooldown. You can almost keep it up permanently with Ventari.

The grind isn’t the problem, I completed my entire set the day after the Vinewrath boss was released. It’s the same argument of why I dislike the current legendary system they are (thankfully) changing. It’s all based on luck and half the time it doesn’t feel like you get rewarded. The coat boxes were the absolute worst thing because of the time commitment while having a small chance of actually getting what you needed. I would have much rather had a ‘’kill the Vinewrath 5 times’’ repeatable collection achievement for the boxes.

I want to earn my stuff, not get lucky or get them handed to me.

It’s probably going to be like silverwaster’s carapace armor acquisition. They’re probably going for something similar with the new maps.

That’s something I would have a big problem with. The RNG behind the carapace stuff and getting the right organs as well as boxes with non-luminecent armor really wasn’t fun to deal with. I’m all for hard and prestigious rewards but I want to earn them, not depend on RNG.

Why not give people the choice between a tome or transmutation charge? I’m not a developer and I don’t know how much work would be involved into coding this, but to me it doesn’t sound like a huge ordeal to give out a little box with one of your choice.

I understand people want to level through PvP but there are plenty of us with stacks and stacks of tomes we can’t use anymore because the keyfarming got changed. Hell, I’ve started throwing tomes on joke characters with full pink armor and the most ugly items I could find.

Since this looks like someone being salty over how good the ability is, Infiltrator’s Strike does the exact same thing without the activation time and you are able to use it more often. You can teleport back as well, but for the sake of the argument you can cancel the Infiltrator’s Return.

If this is not okay for Revenants I don’t see why this would be okay for Thieves.

why is that absurd they already said that you will get all the skins unlocked if you have the pre or legendary so its like they have done the work already.
.they got the end product so they deserve the ap aswell.

The achievement points and achievements are for the scavenger hunt, not the legendary. If the expansion were to drop right now, despite having the pre-precursors, I did not do the scavenger hunt. I didn’t put any work towards the scavenger hunt. People making legendaries before the expansion shouldn’t give them any extra reward or benefits over people who make legendaries afterwards.

It’s like giving people a full set of ascended gear and 50 fractal levels at the release of the expansion if they are fractal level 50 right now, just because thy are likely to be able to do max level fractals eventually.

Precursor crafting achievements

Bovan.9481

Why would you get the points for achievements that you didn’t do? It’s not like you can’t go through the process to unlock another precursor.

And what about those of us who crafted our Legendary?

What about them? The points for the precursor collections are given for doing the collections, not just having the final result. If you want the points but not the precursor, do the collections and sell the result. The existing precursors will still be tradeable no matter if you got them through precursor crafting or other sources.

Pretty sure they said crafted precursors are account bound on acquire. On that note as someone in the same boat as the topic starter, I think we should at least get the skins unlocked for the legendaries we already crafted. The achievements however, we should do ourselves.

It’s not fair to expect getting the achievements handed to us despite not doing said achievements. Asking us to spend another fortune on something other people will get ‘’for free’’ just because we achieved things before them in absurd.

For what it’s worth, in my Arah path 2 solo on Revenant the first boss was incredibly annoying because she puts up a reflect half the time. Even reflects and projectile destruction aside, the thing seems to just vanish if it hits a wall.

How can Ventari compete with Druid?

in Revenant

Posted by: Bovan.9481

Bovan.9481

All I want for Ventari is the cast time on moving the tablet completely removed. Hell, make us move it during other skills as well. The range can stay for all I care. It’s super awkward and annoying having to stop what you are doing just to move the thing. It makes the entire mechanic feel slow and clunky.

You are really going to complain about this? Revenant is good overall. Ranger has tons of issues with the core profession. So what if druid is good at heal support? God let us be good at something for once. And like Roy said, they both do things a bit differently. It would probably be nice to have one of each on your team.

It’s not fair to point at another profession and say you are better or worse than that profession, and justify a point that way. If we could do that all 7 classes were in bad shape compared to Elementalist for the past 2 years.

I haven’t gotten the time to test the spear in BW2, but I’m personally not a fan of a weapon with two auto-attacks that tries to do two different things altogether for the sake of an old restriction that no longer exists.

I was worried about it at first as well, but it’s really not that bad. Basically the ranged attack applies conditions, and when you are in melee range you won’t even use the auto-attack. This more or less created a gameplay version where you use 1 while ranging if you focus more on conditions, and you spam 2 when you are in melee range. Since the 2nd attack does relatively high damage and has no cooldown or energy cost it almost functions like your 2nd auto-attack (but in melee range).

Uhh, I was saying that IF you were playing completely by yourself and had no guarantee of a Warr Banner and/or Spotter or ANYTHING, then full ascended Zerker with a Sigil of Accuracy is enough to guarantee 100% Crit Chance.
However, when we take into account that we can go for Warr Banners and Spotter, you don’t really need this much to be Zerker; you can drop some pieces and gain a few thousand HP while still maintaining 100% Crit Chance, high power, etc.

Even if you play by yourself, Sigil of Accuracy is a poor sigil and you would gain more from a 10% sigil. Ergo you will not be at 100% crit chance in full berserker gear. Even with both a Warrior banner and spotter you won’t be that far over the cap so you can gain ‘’a few thousand’’ HP.

To post some actual numbers rounding things up or down for the sake of making it easier to read:
50% crit chance from gear, sigils, runes and everything. 90% under fury. Spotter gives 7% crit chance and banner 8%. this means even if you have both spotter and a banner you will be on 105% crit chance. 5% crit chance is 105 precision so if you turn that into vitality through valkyrie armor you will gain 1050 extra health. And to even get to this point you will need 100% uptime on banner and spotter. If you can guarantee 100% uptime on banner and spotter this is worth considering.

And how is it like saying that 7 of the current classes should run it? Which other class can reach 100% with nothing but Fury and a Sigil? Or 25 stacks of Vuln and using their class mechanic?
I don’t understand what the big deal is. If I can still reach 100% easily, why NOT go with a few Valk pieces?

It’s like saying 7 of the current classes should get valkyrie gear because Revenant isn’t in a different situation from them aside from the banner and spotter scenario. Why would you NOT run valkyrie gear on say a Warrior, Guardian, Elementalist, Engineer or you name it right now? Because they get use out of all the stats berserker (or assassin) gear provides and all of it contributes to increasing their damage. Just like Revenant.

Once again and I can’t stress this enough, this is counting in a Warrior banner but NOT spotter. Reason for this is because Ranger is currently not a part of the most optimal group setup, and because we are talking about optimal scenarios and situations. By all means grab some valkyrie gear if you have a Warrior and Ranger in your group.

By all means do prove me wrong if I am wrong. I’m here to learn and get optimal results out of my Revenant myself. But I’m not getting any input regarding the situation.

Just to be on a even level I’ll show you the what I deem to be the most optimal setup so people can point out where I’m making mistakes, if there are any.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vlIQRAsX8sn3guNSuQ7JRboZlsP0rS4IaVJ4EdskFNFidMppNtBYBNwegHshA-ThRBABXt/o8DP9D5dSAA4JAQp6PmpEMAwBwv9tv9N48zP/8zPvf/93f/93SBMwwK-e

Legends are unimportant, I just slotted in Shiro and Glint to fill the spaces. Some traits can be swapped depending on your group. Like for example Cleansing Channel for Fierce Infusion if fury is an issue. Or Bolster Fortifications for Shared Empowerment is might isn’t stacked to 25. For the sake of explaining my traits in one go, I’m assuming an optimal setup in optimal scenarios.

Well all you need is full ascended Zerker and a Sigil of Accuracy(or food) to reach 100% by yourself and if you want to min-max, then being as tanky as you can be while maximizing offense is the way to go. There wouldn’t be any wasted stats if you take a few Valk pieces, but there would be if you make yourself get 100% without considering a Warrior banner, food, sigils, runes, etc.

That’s the thing though. Considering everything you will be exactly on 100% crit chance. You shouldn’t use a sigil of accuracy either because it’s rather weak. Especially because every point of accuracy will be wasted if you get a Warrior banner.

I’ve counted in 70 precision from food, although optimally you would forgo that for Seaweed Salad. This means even in full ascended berserker gear you won’t reach 00% crit chance.

I just don’t get why people are obsessed with valkyrie gear. It’s like saying that 7 of the current classes right now should be using valkyrie gear. The absolute only way I would ever consider valkyrie gear in current content is if I were to be 100% sure I would only play and be in a group all the time with a Warrior and Ranger. And it wouldn’t go any further than 1-2 trinkets.

Looking at the stats on gw2skills.net shows that they can only reach 100% if using full assassins, which isn’t very feasible as I’ve explained in my previous post. And building full assassins would mean that you’d go over 100% as well, which is wasted.

You will be at 100% crit chance with full ascended berserker gear, scholar runes (no precision, if strength turns out to be stronger that also doesn’t give you any precision) 70 precision from food, power infusions and a Warrior banner. There is no reason to use any assassins gear unless you are 100% sure you will never play with a Warrior. And if we are talking about optimization I wouldn’t exactly take you serious without the consideration of a Warrior.

If you’re using a max dps build (Let’s just say full zerker in this case), you end up with a ~54% crit chance. This increases to 94% with fury and invocation, and goes to 104% if you’re using maniacal persistence. That extra 4% is wasted and if a warrior brings a banner, that’s 24% wasted.

Where is Maniacal Persistance coming from in a full DPS build? The Corruption traitline only overshadows Herald if you are loaded up with conditions which would be a silly thing to build for. Even if you take Corruption and you are sure you are going to be overloaded with conditions all the time, you would still do more damage with any of the other two traits.

I also don’t quite understand how a Warrior banner suddenly gives 20% additional crit chance. You can’t look at buffs like those and magically add in Maniacal Persistance on top of it.

tl;dr
In the current meta and world, I see no reason to use valkyrie armor unless you are new and still getting the hang of dodging. Berserker gear will give you it’s full effect without wasting any stats.

Middle ground suggestion, Unyielding Anguish.

in Revenant

Posted by: Bovan.9481

Bovan.9481

So it turns out a lot of people really liked Unyielding Anguish and that there is a lot of talk about this skill being reworked. Meanwhile we can all see the skill really was a problematic mess which didn’t only break things, but also caused a little too much chaos despite it’s theme. I can see both sides of the coin and to be perfectly honest I don’t dislike the new version.

However one things worries me. Before mainly in PvP, if you saw a Mallyx Revenant you know he or she could do all sorts of things ranging from nullifying conditions, copying over conditions, displace people, apply conditions and so forth. Right now the entire legend feels a little… hallow and one-sided. All the legend does right now is apply conditions, remove boons and grant resistance.

The Revenant downed skill was changed from a displace to a knockback. This is a very elegant solution that still retains the skill’s flavor without all the downsides it caused before. Now here is my suggestion. Why not make Unyielding Anguish cause a knockback upon landing? With all the break bars we need to deal with in PvE, and Mallyx himself having no control and CC in PvP and WvW I think the legend needs something else going for it. Unyielding Anguish was a fun skill because it allowed you to move enemies and in PvP decap a point. It was too strong before but one single knockback shouldn’t be all that gamebreaking for the energy cost. It has some synergy with all the torment you apply as well as it should tick once during the knockback, causing one tick of extra damage because of the target being moved. All in all I’m looking forward to test the new Mallyx. After all, we haven’t even played with the new version yet.

Would the people who are upset about the Unyielding Anguish change be happy with this? Or are there any major issues I overlooked?

How do you counter sword 3?

in Revenant

Posted by: Bovan.9481

Bovan.9481

Just wondering, but does jumping work? It’s a shadowstep so it requires proper pathing, would hopping in place, or hopping onto a terrain object prevent the ability from pathing correctly? I know I’ve gotten “could not find path” errors when using it in PvE.

Jumping doesn’t work, but standing close to a ledge makes the skill only do half the hits rather often. I’ve also had moments where I wasted Shiro’s shadowstep on people who are close to a ledge just to see my character slide forward a little bit and the skill not going off.

tl;dr
Being on a ledge makes Revenants sad.

Along with everything that has been mentioned before, stealth completely stops the skill. If you are on a Mesmer or Thief like your first post suggests you probably are able to use some stealth.

Revenant mobility is amazing but everything falls flat on it’s face the moment you stealth. Revenants lose all mobility without a target. I thought it was pretty funny a Thief was shouting at me before about not being able to out-kite me with a shortbow. If only he just used his Black Powder>Heartseeker combo. It’s the same build I’m planning to use, but I will take Radiant Revival over Hardening Persistence and Bolster Fortifications over Shared Empowerment. Reasons for those are that the extra toughness doesn’t do anything for me and that I barely get in any groups without a Phalanx Warrior (and if I do, I will swap to my own Phalanx Warrior).

I wouldn’t use a hammer though, likely will be using Sword/Axe and Sword/Sword in case I need a block or want to pull a mob into others for cleaving.

For what it’s worth, I will be using full berserker weapons and armor with scholar runes and power infusions. That combination gets you nicely at 100% crit chance with food and a Warrior banner.

Theorycrafting Condi build

in Revenant

Posted by: Bovan.9481

Bovan.9481

I’m not sure but couldn’t the sigil of geomancy be swapped for sigil of tormenting?
Considering that bleed doesn’t do much damage at the amount you would be able to stack. While you do have 100% torment duration it could perform better.

Right so I just logged into Guild Wars to test the difference.

Sigil of Torment applies 1 stack of torment for 5 seconds on a 5 second cooldown. Sigil of Geomancy applies 3 stacks of bleeding for 10 seconds every 9 seconds assuming you swap weapons on cooldown.

1 stack of torment deals a little bit less damage than 1 stack of bleeding, but a little bit more if your target is moving. To be specific in a build without any condition damage 1 torment ticks for 16 (32 while moving) while bleeding ticks for 22. Over a 10 second duration torment did 192 damage and geomancy a total of 660 damage. Again no condition damage.

When you add in condition durations you’ll have 100% torment duration and 50% bleeding duration because of food. So for the condition damage-less character I used before we would see 384 (768 while moving) torment damage over 10 seconds and 990 for geomancy.

I’m not completely sure if torment scales quicker when a target is moving, but I’m not very optimistic torment is going to be stronger. *

Not posting to correct you or anything, but because I was pretty interested in the comparison myself. Also if anyone else is able to tell me if my logic is right or wrong that would be helpful. I never attempted to even understand damage calculations for conditions so I could be completely off the mark here.

tl;dr
Don’t take my word for it, but Geomancy seems to be better even if your target is moving.

EDIT:
*Alright I logged into my Engineer which I use for WvW. The build and armor is optimized for WvW but it’s not going to effect the outcome. Torment doesn’t scale faster even at level 80 with a condition build. 1 stack of torment barely did more damage than 1 stack of bleeding even while the target was moving. 3 stacks of bleeding are even more potent than I thought.

Theorycrafting Condi build

in Revenant

Posted by: Bovan.9481

Bovan.9481

I’ll keep this short because to be perfectly honest, I haven’t really looked into a condition damage build yet.

I’m not sure what purpose the mainhand sword has. For the time you are stacking vulnerability you won’t or barely stack any conditions so I don’t really see the point. I’d sooner go for Mace/Axe and Mace/Axe for the sake of weapon swapping sigils. Offhand sword has a block which could be useful so that’s a thing. Not sure about sigils but I would likely go for Geomancy and Corruption. Maybe Smoldering would end up being better?

I don’t think Jalis is a good option either. Why not go with Shiro for the quickness? Maxe/Axe with quickness would stack conditions at a much faster rate as well and reduces some ramp-up time along with it. I think switching legend every time you run out of energy is going to be a thing for condition builds. Start with Shiro and use up all your energy on the quickness and skills, then switch to Mallyx and use all your energy on Embrace the Darkness. From there on once your cooldowns are up, repeat the cycle.

As for the traits, I think you really overestimate how many conditions you put on yourself or more importantly, how many of those deal damage. You put 1 stack or Torment on you with Embrace the Darkness, and I suppose the vulnerability from Banish Enchantment. I don’t think it’s enough to warrant Demonic Defiance or Pulsating Pestilence. I’d go for Venom Enhancement and Diabolic Inferno instead. More poison damage and free burning every time you use Embrace the Darkness if you use it at all.

The other traits are going to depend on whether you are in a group and what kind of group so I’m not going to touch on those. After a lot of thinking I don’t think I would run with Equilibrium anymore at all in any kind of build. I used to consider it a go-to trait because it dealt damage, but I think you are never going to be above 50 energy when you switch legends. the stun break is situational as well so, dare say, Invigorating Flow might be your best bet even in a power build.

Small note on food, I think Toxic Focusing Crystals and Rare Veggie Pizza are better. Minor difference but eh, just mentioning it.

Everything else is probably what I would do as well bar the might traits. Which again they aren’t wrong, it just depends on your group. I normally do my theorycrafting assuming a meta composition which includes 25 might, fury, banners etc.

EDIT:
For the hell of it, this is my initial draft. Again I didn’t look into it very well so don’t blindly take everything over. The sigils especially aren’t quite there yet.

EDIT:
Actually reading back at this post, it looked a little negative. I genuinely am happy with Herald and it does look like something I would like to play. But the main theme being boon sharing which some other classes do (way too) well already might make some people a little salty. Like the might upkeep, it’s fine and all but it serves little purpose with Warriors passively giving out 25 might already. It has more to do with Warriors and not the Herald.

I think the sword auto-attacks are fine as they are with one exception. The 2nd attack that throws out a ranged blade which comes back flat out disappears the moment it hits a wall. This makes it very clunky and awkward to use in dungeons and such where you are often fighting in tight corridors and near walls. You can get around it by positioning yourself well but it’s still going to occasionally going to be problematic. I’m just worried about the giant zones filled with rubble, vines and rocks we will be fighting in soon…

I’ve been searching for the Revenant Rytlock shirt on auction websites and such for months. No luck so far not on websites in my country or any foreign countries.

Best of luck to you but if you want an official shirt, you’re going to have a tough time.

(p.s. arenanet please put the shirts in the shop, I’m ready to throw my money at the screen for you)

Yeah in hindsight this wasn’t the topic I should have… let’s call it vented in. It wasn’t directed at you. But just like you I want a functioning class that has it’s place. If the devs are getting feedback about what the class ’’needs’’ from other people and they mention every little thing possible, it’s just going to become difficult to pick out the real issues.

But this is getting way off-topic in a so far really constructive topic. I’ll leave it here along with an apology for posting here and not somewhere more relevant.

Honesty, specifically in this case, it has less to do with expectancy and more to do with noticeably weak traits. Namely, the Grand Masters, when compared to other classes, are just not that great. I mean if you REALLY think about it:

I’m aware of it, and I tried wording out my post to say I agreed. I mean I feel if a trait line has minor and effects which require a certain condition, the trait line should provide high (75%+) uptime on said condition as well. For Invocation that would be Fury.

It’s just getting a little silly that people in other topics are asking for literally everything they can think of.

With all respect guys, this topic along with the mobility topic really shows that people are expecting too much. Fury and swiftness are a luxury and not something you should expect 100% uptime of without making sacrifices. It seems like what people are asking for is high mobility, permanent fury, permanent swiftness, high damage reduction, high damage (ranged and melee), reflects, high healing and the list goes on.

This if course doesn’t have anything to do with the major trait being a little on the underpowered side, but I felt like mentioning it. We’re discussing 1 out of 9 classes here. Not what would be the most optimal and perfect class to push all others out of the meta.

Still lack of swiftness skill. The only class

Revenant was supposed to be a king of mobility in combat, i dont see a reason why it shouldnt work if target is out of range. I mean we have to pick a whole set of utilities just to get that one mobility skill.

I hope so, but the amount of mobility this would give us (even out of combat) is pretty nuts. The amount of distance I can cover on a Guardian with the sword blink, greatsword leap and Judge’s Intervention is massive. Just thinking about how much better Revenant would be is a little scary.

If the class is designed around low mobility out of combat it just makes me think about it being unusable if the target is out of range even more.

But who knows, got so much stuff to test next beta.

As far as I know we don’t know yet if we can Phase Traversal to targets out of range. If it’s like the Guardian’s Flashing Blade, Judge’s Intervention or a Thief’s Infiltrator’s Strike we may actually have some of the best mobility in the game.

But that’s exactly why I imagine we won’t be able to use it on targets out of range.

Ever since we got those, I haven’t had any swiftness issues on any class. It even made map completion on a Mesmer somewhat bearable. The 20% boon duration will even help our DPS a little through all the might we stack on ourselves.

As for instanced content we have Warriors, Rangers, Thieves and Elementalists who provide high amounts of group swiftness. One of them is permanent, the others are above 50% uptime.

People make too big of a deal out of the entire thing.

New Legendaries

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

That only thing that drives me up the wall is not knowing if we need the current Gift of Exploration or not. Right now I’m forcing myself through map completion (for the 6th time mind you) despite hating it just in case we need the gifts for the new legendaries. I’m not having fun, and logging in already feels tedious because of it. But I’m going to need the gifts if they are required for the new legendaries.

I find the entire Gift of Exploration thing flawed anyway. It’s preposterous if I want to make a 3rd or higher legendary for my main character I’m forced to play a different character for hours and hours despite not wanting to play that character, and through content I’ve already experienced. I know legendaries aren’t required but you need to have goals to pursue. But that’s something for a different topic.

I saw that Ventari guy on the way here in the bathroom. He slipped and slammed his head on one of the sinks. Poor guy couldn’t even heal himself because his tablet was stuck in the hallway.

Yeah, this is probably the funniest thing I’ll read this year.

How to survive to heavy focused burst damage?

in Revenant

Bovan.9481

Do you even played beta to understand how terrible these 2 heals are? That is actually the main reason why it will prevent camping one legend. Spammable rolls? Dude..as a revenant i will barely have any energy for weapon skills, let alone utility ones LOL how i am supposed to spam it? By autoattacking 24/7?

I find it ironic you comment on the guy having played beta or not and proceed to prove that you have no clue on the energy you gain and how much you spend through weapon skills.

So weapon swap..

in Revenant

Bovan.9481

People comparing this to Engineers and Elementalists… annoys me.

Engineers basically switch a utility slot for 5 new weapon skills and are able to switch in and out of them without any cooldown. Elementalists still have 4 attunements granting 5 weapon skills each. Neither are even comparable to the situation of Revenants.

While I don’t like or fully agree with the weapon swapping, I think this was the best solution to a relatively big problem.

EDIT:
Oh crud I even forgot about conjures.

You right about the sword block, i forgot this, but there is a general problem linked to energy management because everything costs energy.

So you can’t really spam evade with your utility.

That’s true, but neither can a Mesmer with for example Blurred Frenzy, or a Thief with… well just about anything. You can look at the evade utility as a 7 second cooldown. Granted you won’t be able to really cast anything else but you don’t need to use the evade when there is nothing to evade. And it gives you a ton of endurance after using it as well so you can evade another attack.

Jalis could use some defensive love though. Weakness application is great but I would like to see Vengeful Hammers applying protection while it’s on and the elite’s cast time reduced a little. The big topic with changes really shows we are being listened to so maybe we’ll see something on Jalis’ defense at some point.

Did you watch the PoI today? Revenant has a block on offhand sword, an evade (without a cooldown mind you) that makes you jump backwards and regain endurance, shadowstep(s) towards your target and frequent chill application. Granted all of this is just from Shiro’s stance and dual swords but it certainly does have a lot of ways to stay on target and avoid damage.

I’m sure the new skills and stuff will be on Dulfy or some other place either right now or soon so I encourage you check those out.

Clarification on Unrelenting Assault

in Revenant

Posted by: Bovan.9481

Bovan.9481

What worries me at the moment (albeit more for PvE) is Revenants casting the skill and teleporting into big attacks that one-shot you. The skill has been changed but there was one which worked quite similar to Unrelenting Assault in World of Warcraft. The name was Killing Spree and was conveniently nicknamed KillMe Spree because of it instantly teleporting you into danger and being unable to avoid attacks during it.

It’s fine the weapon set and legend as a whole has a weakness and notably low on the defense because of the heavy focus on offense. But I don’t want to see the skill go the same way as the one in Warcraft where you often didn’t use it.

So there are a few questions floating around about this skill and none of them were addressed yet.

The datamined version of this skill said it would prevent capture point contribution, but the new version doesn’t seem to mention this. Is this still the case?
Also does this skill make you invulnerable during the cast? If not, where is your actual character? Issue I had with Phase Smash is that while you fly away to your destination mobs would continue to walk towards your starting point and actually attack you during the animation.

I do hope they get trident or harpoon gun. I’d hate to be stuck with only melee under water (spear). I like spear as a weapon, but melee underwater is clunky even when you map a key for the swim down. (I enjoy underwater combat)

Spear doesn’t have to mean melee combat. Look at Guardian, their spear auto-attacks are ranged, they can pull an enemy from afar to themselves and they can leave a zone and swim backwards that damage enemies if they pass through it. They do have 2 melee abilities of course, but it’s nice having two things build into one weapon.

Whenever the Revenant goes underwater he becomes mist and can’t attack nor be attacked.

Fixed.

Whenever Revenant goes underwater he drowns because Revenants can’t swim.

I like to think of it more as vampires being exposed to sunlight. And no, I’m not talking about the sparkly fabulous ones.
