Not saying that they should do it, but he easiest solution would be to just have the story reset, and the story to have to be redone, with rewards locked until you reach what the current set for the character was before the change.

Just curious here why would using some variation of the sPvP model that is already in place for a setup for this GvG niche? Not saying it should be the option, but and wondering why it is not considered.
I hate to be negative before we see the new content but between the pet lease and other pet issues with some targets in the game I would be surprised if the pet will even attack Teq at all then we are stuck with pet standing in front of use doing nothing unless we need the F2 for say a bear condi cleanse or moa protection.
They might be able to place it on the F2 of either hawk or eagle as those are just re-
skins of the same pet.
Crafted. Assassin replaced the “Explorer” prefix. So vicious claws for the exotic quality.
In before more aquatic weapon changes.
is there any official sotg forum? pls lunk it
SOTG only focuses on sPvP. They usually have a thread on the sPvP forum each month to gather questions they never use.
The only problem with that is the fact that Anet is trying to keep the skills/effect working the same as possible between the modes for ease on the player base so it is likely as not condition damage in all modes of play could take a hit or it could be like confusion and retaliation and have a reduce effect in sPvP.
So tomorrow is another state of the game so any prediction on what will be ner….changed in the coming months?
Now for some snark:
Potential State of the game quote.
“We recognize that the changes to this profession will essentially remove it from play. In the future, we may consider whether or not there is an incarnation of this profession that would be viable but balanced. For now, we do not expect it to see serious use.”
Presentation not being judged there he came across to me as very much a yes man so I wasn’t surprised that the question he asked got sidestep and the community did not get nearly as much information/feedback as the other profession seem to get.
Either that or they really don’t like the idea of verbally communicating the balancing of ranger.
I was having some issue with it not pulling a the adjusted range from off-hand training the first day of the new patch. Haven been back on my ranger to test in further though.
Even if it’s a group event, Horace can be done solo. As he throws fireballs, you have to “wiggle” your character so that his fireballs miss, and dodge at the appropriate moment as he casts Flame Burst. He can pull you and drop rocks so make sure you have stability skills.
Why is Duke Barradin mentioned though? Isn’t that the champion with a “Mega boss” final form in Charr tutorial mission?
I think that is because the area is Barradin’s Tomb.
Having the same issue myself
I’d be happy if they found a way for inactive pets to keep names given to them. I have kind of lost faith in there being any balance changes that are not centered around sPvP without any concern for the other game modes.
I was fighting the giant on my ranger, a few times in the last couple of days and most time if I used the elite skill entangle the giant would teleport away, no longer immobilized. Has anyone else seen this with the giant or any other enemies that normally lack a teleport/shadowstep.
Or just lower the requirement for off-hand kills considerably.
I would love it they would add a tab for the town cloths and items of that nature.
When they changed the static stat bonus provided while wielding certain weapons they kind of opened up a new can of worms if the number they used are about equal then any item with condition damage would need that value increased.
Did this get fixed recently or is it an armor specific issue? I switched to a mostly tier 2 set and blood legion shield no longer clip as it once did.
I have yet to find a shield that this does not happen with the one that annoys me the most is the blood/iron legion shield/legionnaire skinned shields.
The aegis buff does it too.

Evasive Purity: This Ranger trait removes poison and blind when you dodge. I have this first because it is the trait I most want as a warrior. The most important part of this one is the blind removal, because post patch I can’t find a good reason to put points into strength so that I can cleanse blind with a dodge roll. Even with that minor trait it often doesn’t remove blinds often enough. Now I don’t want a carbon copy of this skill so it would need to be made more for warrior, perhaps remove blind and gain adrenaline when dodging would fit the class.
You can have it, it hasn’t worked since it was dropped a tier.
Antidote Signet existed in an earlier form of the game.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Antidote_Signet
The update itself, until we are given additional information, has firmly set that the developers will continue to balance the professions solely within the meta of sPvP.
Part of the baseline problem of the shouts on the ranger is the other shouts in the game have group utility (even if it is only cc in the form of Fear Me) and the Ranger is not really party/group designed, more of ‘My pet and I against the world.’
I’ve always felt the rangers shouts to be kind of last minute tacked on as skills go. They are kind of like the other shout, but are more like additional pet commands.
I don’t want to sound bias, but warriors in general sound like they will not be happy until their profession is an unstoppable juggernaut in all modes of play.
So the subforum is a great example of a house divided and all that, but what is the direction should the profession be going?
Let’s try not whine and be constructive, we are not all going to agree on everything, but perhaps with our reasoning outlined we could come to an understanding.
The ranger community seems more and more like the most divide on the forums.
There is some much more content in Guild Wars 2 than just sPvP, I think that it would be a benefit to the total community for there to dialog between Anet and ourselves in that regard.
If so how should the focus of this video/podcast go? I was thinking of a Variety show kind of feel.
Maybe have a overview of the WvW result for the month, discussion of WvW issues.
Followed up with maybe a dungeon/instanced content talk
Maybe even bring in a voice actor or two for in-Character entertainment (Rytlocke on the event of AC, CoF etc.) or reading of a mail bag.
That’s how unfinished the spirits are.
You forgot “and also potent skirmishers,” So let’s just use whole quotation not just the parts that support your stance.
Any chance of Elixir R losing that cast time?
rework longbow skills .
LB #1 is a joke when you cant kite people in this game. ( remove malus, or rifle should have a malus to distance too perhaps ,no ANET? )
Malus? WTF are you typing about? Malice? Minus? Spell check?
Just a start,
Opening Strikes being reworked to have a not kill dependent recharge in combat something like every so many seconds, with Remorseless redesigned to something like Opening Strikes grant you/your pet X stack(s) of might or an additional damage bonus against vulnerable targets, maybe both as it is a grand master trait.
This just reminds me of the old arguments (pre-quickness change) when people were against Quicken Zephyr not being a stun break because it effects the pet as well as the ranger.
The problem wasn’t that the shortbow range was too long, it’s that the longbow range was too short. You can now throw a lump of metal stck to a stick as far as you can fire a shortbow, that’s just plain stupid. Put shortbow back to 1200 and longbow up to 1500.
Traited you can throw a torch, axe or dagger (with the least dominate hand) further than you can fire a short bow. Well at least we understand why the majority of the short bow skins look like toys (with the winterday slingshot actually being a toy).
Is it me, or are all the above posts mostly concerned with WvW builds and PVP , neither of which , I play a lot.? I would like to hear from someone who runs a condition damage PVE build , that is , like me appalled at the changes to pets (namely the 50% damage reduction for the felines…who give the bleeds) and the range of the short bow…(which has the condition damage skills). I really don’t feel like re gearing my toon, I may just change to use my level 80 Guardian or Warrior . I thought this game was meant to cater for all play styles……not nerf them. Constructive comments would be appreciated.
Not that I agree with the range change on short bow, but if you are already a trap focused condition build you were already in shorter range often, so that part didn’t change too much, but without more information about your trait build/gear selection I doubt you will get too much constructiveness from the forums in general.
I’d say you would probably get more mileage our of the might on swap than the poison. What offhand weapon are you running?
New dungeon (specifically the laser screens) is rough on pets, flag them invulnerable to certain mechanics or something.
Or just stop designing content that complete negates the ranger class mechanic.
@Idea 3 What would the skills be like on dagger as a main hand?
May they start rounding the other profession as ranger as been rounded. Then we will see.
Yes, we care about the forums.
We also care about all the classes equally.
Could you at least go back to the idea of balancing each mode of play instead of only focusing in on what is the best for the meta game of sPvP?
Did the growth on the elixir work like a transformation (limiting actions usable during the duration) or was it just a visual thing, I just recently started leveling my engineer again (working my way through to one of each profession to level 80), so I don’t recall much about the toolbelt skill from before the change.
Wouldn’t bother with that as like a not they will just get buried or relocated back here.
I doubt we will see the range on short bow increased, the design time has decided that short bow is a “skirmishing” weapon and that means short to mid-ranged combat.
We might be able to push for some separation of traits concerning the bows.
Slightly off topic, but which would you all prefer (if we only got to have one) the range reduction taken back or the “animation fix” removed?
Maybe at this point they need to remove the pet control command and redesign the ranger weapons skills to be a cohesive union of the pet and the ranger. Then come up this something for at least F1 to do.
Just want to put it out there if they don’t want power creep then why was there so many buff/changes in this patch. Secondly I don’t think they mean what we think they mean by build diversity, I think what they want is some sort of rotation of which build profession uses with only one best build working at a time.
Chopps put you kitten away, you’ve made your stance and your endless need to make a paragraph out of L2P has long since stop being amusing.
