Ogden may not know about it. But that’s not to say all dwarfs don’t know about it. I’m sure there are hing that you don’t know about but I do and same for you. My point is the story had to come from somewhere, and from what I gather it’s almost legend, things from are own history that may have basis in fact are now legend dew to the story changing over time/poor records of the event.
If we look at this logicly, the only two races that could of constructed it after the cut sceen rules out the rest, are mursat and seer. I say his as we have not seen a jotin strucher of the complexity of the Eye yet. I only say yet as there was a lot of he map unexplored in guild wars as in guild wars 2. It dose not fit in with what we know of mursat buildings so the only logical race left, that we know off is the seer race. I guess you could argue he forgotten, but I’m sure they say hey came from he east of the crystal desert and have not traveled past it. But I could be thinking of something else.
|Seasonic S12G 650W|Win10 Pro X64| Corsair Spec 03 Case|
I don’t get why people think “Scrying Pool = Seers”. Despite the name given to them, the Seer we met never actually… seered.
Technically speaking, by the way, original mention of the name “Seer” comes from ancient dwarven text about one individual.
“The Mursaat have taken Thunderhead Keep! Jalis ordered my scouts, Korg and Onar, ahead to learn what they can and to find the one the ancient texts call the Seer.”
“The Dwarves insist on finding some ancient spellcaster they claim is a seer.” http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Seeking_The_SeerThe name “Seers” just seems to have stuck as a nickname for the race, like the Forgotten. Originating by players calling them such, since no name for the Seer’s race was given, ArenaNet seems to have kept it – for whatever reason.
Ok then, another resin I think it could be the “Seer” race is that we find three of them in Tyria, although it could be the same one, and two of the three are in the southern shiver peake’s. This may be dew to them being in hiding or they just fled there.
Maybe the Eye is a “Seer” building. The Dwarfs had to get that story from somewhere, and the Scrying pool would fit with that story, so maybe that’s why people make the connection. Or it might be as simple as using the Scrying pool lets you be a “Seer” of sorts. The game could have easily have the hero of guild wars painted as a “Seer” as they where the only one who could use it. I really don’t see how people could not make that leap.

Giving the scrying pool is the main resin the Eye of the North was build or so we are lead to believe from what Gwen tells us. I think it was the Seers. Seeing as we believe it’s aninchant, the scrying pool and the Seers named as such. Other than these things I have no evidance to back up my claim.

It wouldn’t be Margonites, as while they were on Tyria they were humans.
Well that doesn’t entirely exclude them from building it. They were a whole different culture of people, and most of their architecture seems to be wasting away in the Crystal Desert at the time of GW1. So I didn’t want to leave them out. Who knows, they could always red con them in some how.
This how ever would.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Margonite
Seeing as they where a sea fairing race I can’t see what they would be doing anywhere near the Eye.

I didn’t think the Realm of Torment would be Kormir’s realm, she is not the god of torment after all.. Rather the place Abbadon was imprisoned. I was always under the impression it was part of the underworld.
Now you’re confusing things. My original point was that Kormir would not leave the gateway into the Real of Torment open, after ascending to godhood, because very nasty creatures would continue to spill out. We didn’t say it was Kormir’s Realm, that would probably be the former domain of secrets.
Sorry I miss read your previous post.
|Seasonic S12G 650W|Win10 Pro X64| Corsair Spec 03 Case|
Why would “all kinds of nasty creatures” be “spilling out” from the heart of Kormir’s own under-control (or so we’d presume) realm?
Even under Kormir’s control, wouldn’t the Realm of Torment still be filled with torment creatures? I would assume she’d want to close a direct portal to this hellish realm.

Yes they could be. But that would be because they are selectable dew to story resins over the Titan quests.
|Seasonic S12G 650W|Win10 Pro X64| Corsair Spec 03 Case|
I had almost forgotten about those. I always kind of assumed that after Nightfall, the damage that was done would have been repaired. I imagine Kormir would not leave such a massive rip in space/time to exist, with all kinds of nasty creatures spilling out. We never got to see such repairs during GW1, since all campaigns tend to be frozen in that one moment of the story, and thus never changing. But it would not surprise me if that door was now closed thanks to Kormir.

I thought Aatxe where part of the shadow army. As they appear alongside shadow army members in FoW in GW1. Crawlers and behamoths I thought where the “normal” residents of the UW. I think the driads(can’t remember the names) are also part of the Dhuum and Menzie army’s if I remember correctly.
Aatxes are natural inhabitants of the Underworld, but some were enslaved by dryders (I think that’s what you mean by ‘driads’ which you likely were thinking of dryads which are nymphomaniac forest spirits in greek folklore :P) whom were only part of Dhuum’s army.
Yes, Dryders. I’m still holding out hope that if we ever get Legendry armor, we will need to go to these areas to get mats/craft them as in guild wars.

Adelbern renounces Rurick, and says he has no son. As far as he sees it, they have turned there back an Ascalon. I’m not saying he would not greave for his son, but the hero’s of the flame seeker prophecies end up in cantha not long after. There is no evidence they returned to Ascalon at all. If they did the story shows it would not have been till after the events of EoTN, or even the recalling of the Ebon Vanguard. Also it was not the security of Ascalon Rurick sort, but the safety of its people.
It appears to me you are leaving out story content in favor of your own theory.
This Isn’t entirely true . You return to the the great northern wall during the Last Day Dawns quest to fend off the Titans and save Adleburn . Much the same way you defend North Kryta Province , Henge of Denravi and and Droknars Forge (oddly you defend Droks from mineral springs )
I never did those quests. Could never find a group to do them. Then by the time you could have a party with hero’s I’d forgotten all about them. Still, Devona and co are not part of the quests are they?

I agree that the other Gods have there own Relms, it would make sence. I only asked about UW/FoW/HoH as they are he only areas we go to where there is open war fair between gods. Maybe the other gods have been drawn into those conflicts? The hero’s of Nightfall sorted out DoA as far as the story tells us.
There has to be one massive battle accruing in the UW as everything poring out of the portals are not Grenths army, which is why I believe he forces of Dhuum and Menzie have ganed a strong foothold in the UW. I do how ever find it odd that Balthazar would open a portal to the mists for people to fight in for his glory, only to walk away. This is another resin I think the gods are at war.
I do find it all a bit messy and odd. But then I guess I am trying to understand a god.

So I’ve been looking in game but can’t seem to find anything. Have ANet given a lore resin for it, or is it as simple as because of the Elder Dragons waking up?
Secondly if the gods have gone what’s happening in the underworld, the ghost lost swamps is littered as are areas of Kesex hills and the Grenth statue in lomers pass. With Grenth gone have the forces of Dhuum and Menzies to taken over?
Is there any lore on what happened to the Hall of Heros?

After going through Tyria Devona and Co went to Cantha to help out against Shiro and were once again present during the events of Nightfall. So they certainly didn’t carry the sword all the way back to Ascalon straight away or anything – and there is nothing to indicate they were the ones who retrieved Sohothin.
There is also nothing to indicate that they would swear any kind of loyalty to Adelbern… If they returned the sword to him it was out of respect for Rurik, but there would have been nothing preventing them from leaving once again. You can’t say they would have felt honour bound to Adelbern because there is nothing to indicate they had that kind of loyalty or respect to him.
Also the presence of Sohothin and Maegdar wouldn’t have prevented the Ascalonian migration to Kryta. Yes the swords are objects of power and yes Adelbern was able to incur the Foefire using Maegdar, but the citizens of Ascalon who left would still have wanted to leave. Two magic swords vs. Charr army, a lot of people would rather not take that chance.
Given that Sohothins last known location at the end of GW1 was Hell’s Precipice and it’s possessor in GW2 is Rytlock we can’t really say with any kind of certainty what happened to it in the time between. Yes Logan thinks he looted it from Ascalon, but he could have just as easily come across it by some other means.
The reason I thought this was fan fiction is that your first paragraph doesn’t really use any fact as basis. You say that Commander Wade doesn’t trust Jennah and doesn’t want to challenge her, but to my knowledge there is nothing in game to suggest that. He does not consider her his queen, but that makes perfect sense, she is the queen of Kryta not of Ascalon. The fact that he names her an “ally” sort of suggests that there is no bad blood between them. He also wouldn’t consider her an enemy. He’s not a separatist, he’s a descendant of the Ascalonian royal line and a member of a failing race.
I agree 100% with this. The separatists are just that. There the “Evil Humans” in Ascalon just so you have an extra foe to fight. Like the bandits/white mantle in Kryta. I do think your reading too much into it, but an interesting if a little flawed idea.
|Seasonic S12G 650W|Win10 Pro X64| Corsair Spec 03 Case|
That there my friend is yet another Lore Blackhole. The core heros and heroines: Mhenlo, Devona, Cynn, Aidan, Eve and Gwen who would all have followed our avatar to defeat the Lich and the zombie Rurik would have known of the importance of Sohothin.
On defeating both Rurik and the Lich they would have recovered it and ensured its return to their King – Adelbern. This calls into question as to why the Forefire would ever occur.
Also with Sohothin back in the hands of the Ascalonian King he would have the authority to recall all who had followed Rurik – at the very least he would have been able to slow the exodus of his people to Kryta.
First of all Gwen was not there, at this time she was still a prisoner of the Charr. Secondly after you kill Rurik you fight the Lich, then the volcano blows. You or anyone else would not have the time to back track to get the sword.
Sohothin is known throughout Ascalon City as the sword of Human Ascalon’s Champion. Rurik was that champion as well as being its Crown Prince and next in line to the throne.
Our avatar may not have known but Devona and the members of the party would and did know (please refer to my previous posts). It is enough to say that the heros and heroines of the Flameseeker Prophecies campaign would all collectively along side the Ebon Vanguard from the Eye of the North supported the claim Adelbern would have made:
Their fallen Prince’s dying wish is the security of Ascalon City.
Adelbern renounces Rurick, and says he has no son. As far as he sees it, they have turned there back an Ascalon. Okay, so I see two sides of this story; people arguing that Mr. Sparkles should be an exclusive and those who think this incentive is a good idea. Personally, I think a different item should have been subbed in instead of Mr. Sparkles, but I don’t really care about Minis. I was going to throw in $50 around the Christmas sale anyway because there are things I want. What I don’t seem to understand is how resistant and resentful people are about giving ArenaNet money. As much as I hate to say it, they still need to eat and upgrade the servers and the only way they can do that is with cash, not ‘gold’.
I have no problem “giving” ANet money. It’s my birthday in a few days and plan on spending what ever I get on gems. As for them still needing to eat etc. I’d spend more money on his game if they game me more perminant content/personal story/maps. And I’ll give them even more. Until then I’m not going to throw money at them for content that half the time I never seen the end of.

You can use the gems you purchase to buy keys (or whatever). I’ll probably save mine and see what else comes out but personally, I’ve been entering any contest I see for the Mini Mr. Sparkles and I’m happy to have a guaranteed way to get one without spending stupid amounts of money.

I’d rather some BL keys or something useful. Both items are not that great. I had the mini’s and kite. They have sat in my bank. I know ANet didn’t have to give them to me, and I’m thankful to have them. I would just rather something useful.

I am not looking to start a fire storm just get a base for people opinions and why they feel that way.
How would people feel if ANET removed all the skins from the gem store and added them into game?
Then added generic looking exotic sets of armor for 800 gem’s. They could leave out the trinkets and accessories.
Personally the more I think about this the more I am like why don’t they? When the game first launched it wouldn’t have made since sure exotics where hard to get. The average player now can get full exotics with in a day of hitting max level if not before. There is always the option now to get full exotics from the trade post with gold.
I really can’t think of a reason this is a bad idea special with the introduction of ascended armor. That way Anet can release more skins into the game giving us more options for customization.
With the looking for group tool, you can level from 35 to 80 doing AC exp and use the tokens for gear. There is no need to buy anything, unless you want diffrent statted gear.
So in short, your idea is flawed.

Your philosophy is flawed, as a person tends to learn more from defeat than from victory.
If you lost, but learned something in the progress, then you’re better than you were before, and that in itself is a gain. Also, your signature has nothing to do with what you said, it just sounds like the typical CoD generation mentality.
Sorry, but I hate CoD. I just wanted to point that out. So sorry thats not me, AvP2 was my first true love when it came to PC games. With that waid I’d rather play Streets of Rage 2 than an FPS. I love Streets of Rage1/2, so thats not a dig.

The first part of this story was really good. But this is just a mess and boring. 90% of people just run through. The Tri-Key chest drops junk. it cost me more in repairs and restarts after my group got mobbed by the returning mobs that the runners pulled through the area. I really like the Idea of it, It is great. But over all it just not entertaining for me. I might be the only one here with this but i thought i’d feed this back. What i would say is that if there where more barriers that involved killing of mobs then i think this would discurrage runners as then you would have to fight your way through. People would be stop (I would hope) after the mass group they keep pulling to the barriers kill’s them a few times and wait for or gather up a group of people before runnign in head long. If Anet wants this to be soloable, then I’m sorry it’s not for light armored classes, the Vet or Eliet in almost every mob of 3 crushes most players (from what I’ve seen) before they have got down a reguler, I try to go throgh with a group of 4-5 people and that seems to work best, as you don’t get crushed by the Eliets.
Seeing as each tri-key cost coin and spors i was exspecting some good drops from there, I got 2-3 items (2 blue and one green) and some dragonite ore stack of 9. If I had bought the key, what I got would not cover the cost of the key not to mention the cost of getting there, if your unlucky you can spend alot of coin just with rezes and restars.. I’m not saying it should cover the cost, but for the effort anf price it should be worth your while. Effort vs Reward in this game has and still it way out with the amount of things that chip away at your coin, WP’s, gathering tools, rez costs, armour repais.
This is not how i thought GW2 was going to be.

There’s no motivation for the majority of players to care about successful or failed event areas. Failed events in Orr just mean it takes a little longer to get around the map. In order to care about event failure players need a carrot to chase after.
For example, the FoW/UW equivalent opening up based on freeing all the temples in Orr. E.g When all the temples are free, this elite area is accessible which is instanced, contains hard mobs and bosses and has materials which go towards crafting a pre-cursor.
Basically make it worth the players while, not just in drops but content to do the events. Otherwise they’ll just champ train farm.
I agree with you. In guild wars you wanted to gain favor of the gods so you could go to FoW/UW for mats for Obby armour or weapons you couldn’t get any where else in game. I loved doing FoW. The amount of gold you could get from there was nuts. Most of the time people would leave white drops every where. I’d normally make 2-2.5 platinum just from the drops that where going to the vendor. Not including and weapons I could sell to players or Obby shards once I had got my Obby armor. Something like his is what guild wars 2 is missing at the moment.

So with all of this in mind it would be cool to carry on discussing around this area in much the same form as Nike has. I do also want to point out that someone mentioned (sorry i forget who) the ability to potentially build forts etc and then gain new events, goals and rewards from them by protecting and nurturing your land. Wouldn’t that be awesome!?

Ok so say the Pact are gearing up to attack a Dragon minion base. The first events could be an escort event and take and hold event as your have to hold the land until the supplie train gets to them so you can have a forward base or beach head to launch your attacks from. This could stop a zurg fest as the player base could be split over a few points of the map. If any of the take and hold events fail then the enamy would build defences on those areas which have to be retaken befor the event moves on. This would mean the escort even would have to restart, as you need to get supplies to the new sites. Once the supplies are at the sites that could trigger events where players have to fight off waves and help build the bases/seage weapons. These events could be like an all out war. Once you have secured the land out side the enamy stronghold you could attack it with cannons/catapults and what ever else the pact wants to bring to the party. While your attacking the base a new event would start where players have to fight off waves of enamy’s, start off with normal working up through Vets, Eliets, champs to maybe finally legendary. The event could end I one of 2 ways. You breach the walls/gate or you defer the legendary bosses. If you breach the walls the enamy waves continue in side the base from where you got too during the assault phase.( I don’t know if this is technacly possibly but I’m just spitballing here) once you finally brake the back of the enamy you take on the base commander in a world boss scale battle.
Ok so what do you guys and girls think?
this sounds alot like the temple of balthazar chain which i always enjoyed but it is a big time commitment and the rewards would need to be unique. people stopped coordinating for balthazar as much when you could get obsidian shards from other sources.

The release cadence should be random. Add stuff when it’s ready rather than on a timetable. AND DON’T TELL US IN ADVANCE! Players should be surprised with new releases rather than anticipating them. When players expect content, their fallible, speculative brains ascribe all sorts of wondrous ideas to what little information they may have about the next release. Once the content goes live, they are inevitably let down.
An actual living world changes randomly and not in two week cycles. Some changes are big. Some changes are small. And the most catastrophic changes of all usually come without warning.
They did that with tower of nightmares. I didn’t know anything had changed in Kessex Hills till a guild member asked what the black stuff coming from the lake was. With that one question. About 15-20 members headed to Kessex to see if we could find out answers. It was awesome.

Perhaps it would have been more accurate if I’d stated that you were prioritizing release dates over quality. I get that you guys have every intention to release quality content. You’re all very passionate and committed to what you do, and you obviously want to create things that people enjoy.
However, allow me to make an observation. I’ve noticed that when you discuss future content or features (other than Living Story), you never commit to a release date. My understanding was that this is because game design can be unpredictable: things change, features may not work exactly as you intended, bugs may pop up, or it may simply take more time to polish a feature for release than you intended. And you don’t want to release content before it is ready, hence…you never commit to a release date.
Except for when it comes to Living Story.
Suddenly, every two weeks, just like clockwork, there it is. Right on schedule. How, then, can it be that your priority is on the quality of the release, when you are committed to releasing it on a specific date no matter what?
If you are saying that you now have the ability to make sure that content is ready by a specific date, then surely you have the ability to commit to dates for all your releases (not just Living Story). But of course, we know that this isn’t the case.
So while you may want quality, it certainly isn’t your priority. It can’t be. Not on a specific release schedule. It’s impossible.
This said there is a lot we can and are doing to meet concerns regarding the cadence and really polish the positives we have already achieved in this area.
I would be really interested to know what you guys are doing to meet my concerns regarding the cadence. Because I honestly have no idea how you can do that while simultaneously stating that the cadence will continue unaltered no matter what any of us says.
The cadence is something we discuss frequently. We are a very collaborative team and do our best to never sweep anything under the rug (-:
I’m curious as to what these discussions are like. When you are having these discussions, does it ever come up that many people are vigorously opposed to it? Or is it the impression of the team that the current cadence is both popular and desired? If so, do you have any metrics to back this up?
Finally, a simple question:
Why are you unwilling to adjust the release cadence? What is the reason that it must continue, no matter what anyone says? Can you at least help us understand that?
Yes, yes, yes, yes. This right here – especially the last question. The sad thing is we’ll never get a real, honest answer. Right now this thread feels like a PR stunt. I hope I’m wrong.
I think it’s money. Every new LS there is Gem Store items linked to them. Most of all the Black lion clam tickets. I’m willing to bet Black lion keys make up the bulk of money that the game brings in. You get 1 from doing you PS if I remember right. And I have had one drop in the world the whole year I’ve played the game, and in my build of over 200 I think, I’m one of 5 people who have had them drop in the world, not from opening a Black Lion Chest.
I don’t really think its a problem. All non-sub games need a cashshop to survive.
I agree with the poster above yours though, the cadence is too much. A 6 months cadence may end up with a lot of bored people who quit for other games, but 2 weeks is a bit too frequent to pull of quality content.
…. the way it is done currently anyways. The problem is that every single update is ‘important’, so it ends up with every update having average, mediocre quality. A solution would be to keep the cadence, but split the importance of updates up.
Some bi-weeklies could be just one new minigame or a balancing update with a new skill. Just small things to keep the playerbase entertained, so effort can be concentrated on the big, expansion-quality updates.
I don’t think it’s a problem aether. It was just my opinion of a maybe why ANet don’t want to change the cadence. I like others bought more bank/bag slots, BL keys mutation stones, perm harvesting tools. I’ll happily pay money for theses things. I bought just about everything from the in game store in Guild Wars, bar a few costumes and merc packs. So for me this is a non issue. :-)

I like a lot of the DE ideas flying around. I really like the second chance ideas, what I would add how ever is something I between. I’ll use the charr tank as I liked that idea.
If the tanks fails, I think you should have to survive a rush of attackers from the enamy base. As I think after popping a tank the they would think they could take you out. So if you servive that then the ash legion could offer the plan B. That way it’s not a instant get out of jail free card. As I think sometimes that is what the second chance would be.
As. For LS I think ToN is a step in the right direction story telling wise. I know what’s gong on and why I’m helping. The AP’s added to dailies for the LS meta is also a nice touch. But I do feel the rewards should be a little better from the LS seeing as it’s a one shot deal. Back item skins are nice an all but we’ve had 5-6 of them this year alone if I’m not missing any. I would rather the effort give me a nice bunch of lorils or maybe some mats for making ascended weapons, like deldrimor steel ingots. Or a choice of the above. At least then people could get something they want from it. If you want the nice skin you can have that. If you want the mats you can have that, or the lols.
I agree with some points about the achevments. I too feel some of them are very old school kill ten rats. Which I was hoping we had all moved past. I know that achevments are limited as to what they can be, dew to the two weeks cadence. But sadly I don’t really have any ideas as to how they could be any better. Other than maybe make them tie into the story instances. Maybe have there be more than one way to do the instance and get points that way for replaying and trying different tactics etc. maybe have ones for dodging certain attacks from the instance boss. Things like that. Maybe that would make some of them a little less mind numbing to do.
I would also like to see some of the Guild Wars story threads tied up too. Like why the Ebon Vanguard was recalled. Why Ebon Hawk was built. What happened to Evania. What happened to Livia how did she find the The scepter of Orr and what happened after. And what happened to the rest of the hero’s I called friends. I know they are all dead bar Ogden. But the how’s and the whys would be great to know. And it could all be sold as fining out about the Guild Ogden was once a part off, or even Gwen for that matter. But I think it would just be easier to use Ogden as he is in Guild Wars 2. Each story could be triggered by talking to Ogden then chosen the same way a dungeon story path is if a group are doing it. Or your PS choices. You could tie in achevments in this my finding different ways of doing things, kind of like in the Bonus missions books in Guild Wars. Finding “possible” ways things played out. Would add replay to the LS. Also make it fun for group play. As I’m sure you could do it that some achevments need more than one person to do and would stop the Zerg also. Or I guess you could use the consortium, they have found a way for people to partisipate in ecco’s of past events. That way players could bear witness to the battle of Ascalon city and whiteness the Foe Fire. Of the events above. If you used the consortium you could have a new map and DE’s that people could take part in. Like prepping for the Battle of Ascalon. Running weapons to the charr. Batting waves of ascalonian soldiers. Until the Charr army is ready then the next events could kick in until the Foe Fire happens.
Anyway I think I’ve rambled on enough. Hope this helps, even if it’s just a little.

Having a place of power in your home instance is even more pointless if you done have the quartz node, like me. I’ll grab the skill point and probably never use it again.

I have a feeling the cadence has to do with money. Most notable, Black lion keys. Seeing as that’s the only way to get the claim tickets. Which get you the new skins that normally come with each LS. But maybe that’s just me looking at it from a money making angle. And to Ecco what someone else has said, I feel like a merc in the LS. Apart from flame and frost, I feel no connection to the events or story. In Guild Wars the story gave the land it’s misteque. Every quest took me somewhere where I thought “wow, I’m glad I took this quest or I might have never seen this.” And this is what I feel Guild Wars 2 is lacking.
As for the Yays.
Halloween 2012, Flame and Frost. The length was great and the story’s where fun. I loved all the exploring to get my Mad Memories Complet Edition. This years Halloween was fun, but was not a patch on last years. I love the bloody prince dailie fight. Tower of Nightmears seems fun so far.
The Nays.
The first South Sun. My god it was buggy. My experience with that LS was so bad I didn’t see it past the first day( I have been to South Sun and I have to say, I do not care for it, it is a dead area every time I go there.) and didn’t play again till bazaar of the four winds. I semi enjoyed it, but I didn’t see the relevance in the story. It felt like it just ended but with out a conclusion.
Politics seemed pointless. I had no connection to aether candied so I didn’t really follow or couldn’t find the story there.
Jubilee was fun at first but again story didn’t seem to progress so stopped going there and did other things.
Tequila tried for three days to bring him down, with out success. Now he just sits there on an empty map, at least on my server.
I didn’t bother at all with the twilight assault. Seeing as I didn’t see the end of the jubilee, I had no idea who this tree woman was nor did I care. So scarlet means nothing to me.
Halloween 2013 was fun as I said, but was very short story wise. Was very disappointed with the end, I’ve felt out of every MMO I’ve played Guild Wars has always had the best Halloween.
Tower of nightmares. Fun so far, but the story just seems to stop. I did everything to get the new skill expecting it be the trigger for the story to continue, but it didn’t. I’m hoping the story will continue with the next update.
I’ve liked all the fixes and changes that have been added along the way, Acended weapon etc. my only problem with them is the over complicated crafting, not to mention the shear amount of mats needed. I really feel nothing should need more than 250 of anything.
I’m greatful for the chance to give my views on the LS.

I have to agree and Ecco most of what has already been sead. My biggest problem with the living world/story is the fact it’s temporary. I played most of the flam and frost story but was unable to see the end dew to time/commitments and not being able to find a group to do the end dungeon. After that I just gave up with the living story as I didn’t have a clue what was going on. Dew to real life I there didn’t play for a few months and when I came back I had missed a lot. I came back just I time for the first year celebration. Which was fun, but didn’t feel like there was a story too it. Then with the bizar of the four winds. I didn’t notice a story there. As for the politics, I felt there was even less of a story there as I had missed last stand at south sun I didn’t know this woman so felt distant from the story. Taquel rising. The amount of people needed is just stupid in my opinion. After the first week I can’t even find people to do it on my server now. I know guild members guesting to other servers just to get a chance to fight him. I feel this needs to be addressed as on my server at least it’s a dead encounter. Halloween was fun, but sadly no where near as fun as last year. I think I did it all in 3 days or at least it felt like that. Now for the tower of nightmares. It started really well with the instance. I thought “holy s***! This is epic!” Then after running around doing the events to get the 50 spores, I was ready for the next part. “Oh ok” I thought “I have to get 250 more.” So I went off and got them. Got the new skill as I thought this would unlock the next part of the story. And I didn’t. I was expecting so much from this story and it’s just dead ended on me. I’m hoping that it will continue in the next few weeks. What I would like to see is a way to “relive” the living world events. Or moving forward make them so the story sections of them can be done at your own pace. Maybe via instances in your home instance maybe. Yu could click on a book as if you where reading the events but then play through them. Kind of like the bonus missions in guild wars. Which I loved by the way. Would also like to see them come back in guild wars 2 for the key history moments between guild wars and guild wars 2.
|Seasonic S12G 650W|Win10 Pro X64| Corsair Spec 03 Case|
I was wondering if the “missing” guild wars beyond content could come to guild wars 2? I would very much like to see the events that where penciled in. The foe fire, the building of ebon hawke. Polowa joko taking over elona. It could be done the same way the bonuse missions where in guild wars. I had great fun trying to do all the “historic possibility’s.”

Yeah. I have a lot of armour that I wish I could store.
|Seasonic S12G 650W|Win10 Pro X64| Corsair Spec 03 Case|
I was hoping the Halloween event this year would be the same as last year so I could finish it. Sadly it’s not. I would much rather the new living story be instanced. At least then we could get through it at our own pace. I’ve yet to complet one dew to time constraints, work having a family. Heck I’m lucky if I get on 3 times a week, let alone have time to do my dailies. I was enjoying flame and frost and almost finished that. I just has to do the dungeon. Sadly I just couldn’t find the time/group to do it.

Just tried him/her/it on my server. What I noticed;
1. People didn’t know what they where suppose to be doing.
2. The amount of people needed is crazy. By the time we had inflicted about 5% damage the timer ran out.
3. It would also apear that this content has already be pleased in the too much effort category, on my server at any rate, judging by he 20-30 people who where attempting to take it down.
From what I’ve read on the forum, the amount of planning and specific gear/build requirements for the zone level is just silly. I’m all up for difficult content. But when this is an open world event where everyone and anyone can join something needs to give. Maybe the timer should only be a factor if there are a lot of people in the map. Or as people have said move the encounter to a level 80 zone. I really like Guild Wars 2, but it just seems like some updates are well planed and others are kitten. That just means your server isn’t ready for him. Remember – Elite Content. That means it’s not for everyone, or anyone just randomly strolling by the zone.
Haven’t you been advocating (for some time) that exotic and ascended gears were only wants, that we didn’t need those?
If so can 100 players do this event in all masterwork gears (w/o voice coms ofc as it’s 3rd party)?
You don’t need to have them, just as you don’t need to fight Tequatl. This is for the Elites who want to actually beat him. We choose to have the gear.
So it’s perfectly acceptable to have gear gated content now?
When was it ever not ok to have the best gear?
If its not content for everyone, then It should be instanced. As you WILL have everyone and anyone joining in the battle. So called elite content should be in lvl 80 zones or instanced. Having elite content in a scaled down to lvl66 is BS. His is the first dragon players should be taking out. Not coming back to once they are level 80 and exotic or acended out.

I only have one, make getting legenderys fun. If i’m going to spend time getting them, at least make it fun. I don’t mind jumping through hoops, going all over the map. going a quest chaing that would take a year. As long as it was fun. I really want to get The Flameseeker Prophecies. But I don’t really have the time to waist grining mats. Hell i don’t even really have the time to do enough Dailies to get a lorrel. I would just like it to be something fun. So i’m enjoying my time playing, not thinking, “Well I’ve been on, and done nothing fun at all.” I know some people will say “Well I had to do all those things to get mine!” Thats fine, i’m not saying to make it easy to get just an alternative way, maybe even longer way, to get them.
|Seasonic S12G 650W|Win10 Pro X64| Corsair Spec 03 Case|
Is there any chance there will be an alternate way to get HoM pets? I play ranger and I feel incomplete because every time I open the pet window, I see pet skins I’ll never be able to get. If the servers ever go down on gw1, could you please make them available some other way? I would throw gems at you for sure. I know people with HoM currently would cry foul since, after all, it is for them and their achievements in gw1, however, with these gaping holes in my pet management window, I had to come here and post. I’m not sure how well received this suggestion is so maybe I shouldn’t stick my neck out here, but, yeah, it’s of one my pet peeves in the game.
Sincerely,
Chopps
Heres an idea, play guild wars one and earn them like everyone else had to?
