“I’ve already got what I wanted, six limited edition halloween item, and I only opened 21 chests. So I’m not saying this because I have the gimme-gimmes, but there really needs to be some guaranteed reward for supporting ANet by buying chests and keys. It doesn’t have to be these rare drop items, but there should be something within the chests as a consolation prize.”
Have you done the act 1 quest yet? The reward is a back piece, which is insanely easy to get at no cost… each act will have something similar… there’s your guaranteed reward…
I said, as you quoted, a guaranteed reward for those who support ANet buy ‘buying chests and keys’. Exactly how many keys does it take to get that backbrace? None.
It takes no keys. But you can’t get it if you just started the game. 2 of the places you need to go are in lvl 20-25 and 30-35 areas. How is a new player suppose to get it? Sure they could join a guild have hope someone can be bothered to baby sit them for the whole thing. I played guild wars 1 and had a blast. But the thing was with guild wars 1 you kinda had to work to get to LA so all the quests where made for the area. Where as you can get to LA as a lvl 2 and have little to no chance of finishing the quests. I’ve already done the quests and as a lvl 80 it is a pointless reward unless it can be upgraded for a lvl 80 version.
And as for the BLC. They said a chance to get a Halloween item. By a chance I thought I might not get a skin, but for every chest you open I feel you should have got some thing for Halloween. And before anyone tells me you get a tonic just don’t. You and I know that’s BS. You should at least get a ToT bag. Weather you users in game gold or spent money you should get something. I’m willing to be if ANet had said, you have a very very very small chance of getting a Halloween item from the get go. People would not have complained. The wording was misleading to some. So when they spent there money/gold and got nothing to do with Halloween I don’t blame them for feeling a bit cheated. I was so glad I looked here before I spent money/gold on keys for a very poor drop rate RNG chest. I know I won’t spend money/gold on keys for other events.
I really feel ANet needs to look at there “is it evil” policy again. As I for one feel that this was.

Not all casuals , working folk , etc agree with the gimme now gimme all crowd.

The way ANet went about promoting the BLC’s was a bit miss leading. I was expecting to get something to do with Halloween from the 8 chests I opened. And I don’t mean a weapon skin. I mean anything. A tonic something. If I had got something I may have been inclined to buy some more keys. With the drop rates as they are, I will not be spending my money on a BLC for event items. As it seems to be a waist of time and money. So I’ll be doing Halloween in Guild Wars as I will at least get some Halloween items.

So glad I saw and read this thread before I spent money on keys. I’m kind of disappointed as I love Halloween in Guild Wars. I’m sure the quests will be fun. But I am disappointed about the drop rate. I would have liked to have some Halloween weapons. But I’ll live with out them. But as many have said, if the drop rates are that bad then I’ll not bother with other events.

So I hit 80 the other day. And I’m nearly at the end of my Personal Story. So I was thinking about trying some dungeons. But I’ve read thing here and there and would like a few facts.
1) What is the average length of a dungeon run?
2) Just really how difficult are they to master?
3) Where (If I really need to) can I find good dungeon builds?
4) What do people mean by bad rewards?
4) how many time would you need to do a dungeon to get the full set?
Thank you to any and all who take the time to answer this. I don’t get to play as much or as often as I would like so this information will help me decide to bother with dungeons or not.

People said the same about Guild Wars. And people are still playing

It seems to be working very well. I do hope how ever that we get an ANet only one. Like the Blizzard one for there games. I’d feel a lot happier with that than a 3rd party app.

I had issues with crafting in beta. The amount of mats needed was too high. The drop rates where a joke. And the level as you go……. Well after spending a lot on the TP and I mean a lot. I’ve spent real money to catch my crafting up. About £60. And only now at level 75 have I crafted something I can use. The system is horrible. So much so that I’m not going to bother doing any with my alts.

I would guess that this is not normal. If it is….. Well I’d rather sell hints I don’t need. At least you’ll get something for them.

This happened to me too. I put in 4 rare level items. That I got from 100% areas, as they where no good for my class. And I got zip back.

Halloween in Guild Wars is/was my fav MMO holiday. If they don’t have it in Guild Wars 2 I’ll pop on to Guild Wars for it. I need my yearly mad king thorn fix. I know there are more pressing things the dev team need to work on so I’ll for give them for this year lol.

I remember people saying Guild Wars was dead 3 years ago and ANet would be shutting down the servers by the end of the year. 3 years on and it’s still going. I played right up till Guild Wars 2 launched. If you don’t do Halloween in Guild Wars 2 I will pop on Guild Wars and do Halloween there. I will probably jump on anyway for old times sake. As I feel Halloween is done best by ANet.

You could get most of the points in a short space of time. If you did you main quests/missions. I’d say about 2 weeks if you have plenty of time.

I love seeing all the posts from people who have had jumped on the hate band wagon. And using frases like “lots of people are fed up” and “we need to show them this and that.” GW2 is not ME3. And for everyone person who posts on here saying things are bad and people are quitting the game, there are people loving the game. What also makes me laugh is that not everyone posts on a forum. I only come here as I don’t get as much time to play games as I use too. I just come on here to keep up with bug fixes and such. But also to remind people for every person hating on the game there are people who are too busy having fun and playing to get on here and tell us so.
Yes I’m on the side of enjoying the game. So far I’ve not had any game braking bugs. And I’m enjoying the game so far. I say so far as I’m lvl57. Don’t give me the come back when your 80 BS, I have just as much right to coment on the game as anyone else. I’m not saying I’ve seen zero bugs, I’ve seen quite a few. But I don’t care I just move along. Maybe ANet can make a complaints sub forum. Or if your that bothered contact support for a refund. There are things you can do.

I have played WoW and Guild Wars. I must say I don’t ever really remember running into any game braking bugs in Guild Wars, Ever. WoW on the other hand. Unable to log in for days. Getting killed in Northrend and spawning in westfall, now that’s a corps run. Getting killed in outlandish and being unable to respawn. Took them about 2 weeks to fix that one had to log out and back in to fix it. And being on a high population server Kent that sometimes I could be waiting some time. I have yet to find any game braking bugs in Guild Wars 2. Sure I’ve found some bugged events. But I just go and do other ones. I know guild wars 2 will get to bug free just like Guild Wars.

I too was thinking the prices on the runes are mad. I’m only lvl50. And when guild mates asked me to make them some 10 slot bags and I said sure that’s nearly 5 silver they where all saying the same thing. I’ll have the 8 slot coper bag then.

Could we not just have an NPC that we can traid unwanted mats for ones we want? As a weapon and armour smith I need a lot of the same mats. I’m lvl 50 and can only make lvl35 armour and lvl30 weapons. I have a tone of food mats. Sadly they are worth nothing compaird to the mats I need.
You can always sell the ones you don’t use and buy the ones you need via the TP?
As I said, on my world food mats are worth next to nothing 4 copper at most. Where as the weapon/armour mats that i need are over 1 silver each. So selling them on the TP would be pointless. Where as an NPC you can traid your mats with would be better. There could always be a daily/weekly limit on it. I just think it would be a good way to get the mats you need. As one armour set I made needed 75 vials of thin blood. By the time i had farmed enough mats for it I was lvl 47, and the armor was lvl 35. Levelling as I go is out of the window as I am now lvl50

I wouldn’t mind seeing an over lay map of GW and Gw2 maps to see where the locations from GW. I loved finding ToA. Seeing Nebo terrace and the Ascalon settlement. The Grenth temple in lomers pass. Not forgetting Grendich courthouse. Not found anywhere else from GW yet. But would love a list of places I can revisit in GW2.

I play warrior, I’m only lvl 39. But I. Have to say gear is a big help. If you have lvl aproprat gear is a god send. Trying to do a lvl 20 quest with lvl15 gear is going to get you killed a lot. That is what I was doing wrong early on in my PS. Once I started using gear lvl to the PS I found I only died if I messed up.

I did not play GW1 so I have no idea how long Obsidian Armor took you to get. However in the case of these Legendary weapons and the 2 million karma grind it will take you minimum 50-60 days to get a legendary weapon if you play 12+ hours a day (obviously would require you to have no job, studies etc). Those numbers only apply if you do nothing but grind for the legendary when you are logged in. I cant honestly believe that the Obsidian Armor was anywhere near as hard to get.
I have Obsidian Armor. And it is/was that hard to get. I remember spending month farming FoW and UW. The worst thing about that was if you wiped you had to start all over again. Those places where/are unforgiving. If I remember right when GW1 came out. When you could get Obsidian Armor it cost more money than your toon could carry. Hell I remember when you could buy a guild hall from the sale of one black dye. Things change. Inime maybe someone can answer your question. Until then just remember, if it’s worth getting it’s worth the wait.
