I’m going for The Flameseeker Prophecies. But i’m not even going to start trying to get it untill they make getting a legendery fun. As it stands I’m not going to waist what little time I have to play the game grinding mats. Or play parts of the game I have zero intrest in like WvW. I don’t mind jumping through a crazy number of hoops to get everything I need as long as its fun. But as it stands it’s anything but.

Eternal Blade. I never had one, it never dropped for me. And I’d never pay what people where asking for them. I still have an Eternal Shieald in my chest in the hope that one day I’ll get one. I would also love to have a dead sword. And my Legendery/Gothic sword. Oh my shinobi blade was cool Looking too as was my Jade sword. And my Cappa Shieald. Man there where a lot of great skins in that game.
Is there any plans for making it useable again? As it stands. The only resign for getting the digital delux edition is for the mini pet. I’d love to use my golem banker again. Or make them so they are account bound rather than soul. I’d pay for this via the gem store also. But then I would want it to be perminant. Rather than a recharge.
And a recharge for my golem banker.
Weapons skins from guild wars. So I can finally have my eternal blade lol.
God I hope not. I put a lot in to Guild Wars. And I love my Firery Dragon Sword. It has been my sword skin from the start. And that will never change. It’s by far the best looking sword in the game IMHO. If they make it that anyone can get it. I’ll lose my feeling of being different from the crowd. As I’ve not seen many people with the skin at level 80.
I just buy slots if I want to make a new alt.
Even cooler looking Obby armour
Keep it till they make legendary’s fun to get. Until then I will not grind for one, and the flame seeker shield is the only one I would remotely think about, as I have the skins I want already.
I played Guild Wars, and still do since I was lucky enough to get a Beta Key from GameSpy Arcade. I played and pre ordered. I loved the game and most of all the story’s. so when Guild Wars 2 showed up I just shook my fist as ANet and screamed “Shut up and take my money”. I even got about £60 worth of gems too. The story started off great, I do dislike the cutscenes I feel they rip you out of the game, Guild Wars had beautiful cutscenes. But the main story feels disjointed, like it’s not my own. And after everything I went through at the start of my story, it’s all just dropped. You never hear from anyone again, save your mentor. And all the pointless traveling back and forth. Especially in Orr. After I had to go back to fort trinity for the second time I was asking my self “why on earth am I doing this.” Mapping back and forth, and don’t get me started on that story jacking plant, the little tree that could. Sure I was given credit for everything, but it just felt like he had the glory. I was a face in the crowd. Yeah it was the same in Guild Wars. But that was ok, it was never made out that it was all about you, you where just there to help others with there story. I would have left the tree on claw island, and saved my trainer.
I also never really had a seance of achievement. Not once did I think I’m glad I was here. All my choices where made for me really, you can do this or that, what ever we do the result will be the same. There never felt like there where consequences to my actions. Like I could make a bad choice that could cost lives. The game felt like it did everything it could to brake me from my story. Ok I’ve just finished that step, what? I’ve got to be lvl 16 for the next bit, but I’m 14, I’ve got to go off and level, but I was told they needed me there ASAP.
What happened ANet? This was something you where really good at. You’d hold have just had this story as Edge of Destiny 2, and doe another story for Guild Wars 2, that really was all about us.
I actually belive the current system should stay. It’s perfect for people who have lots of money, time, and can just sell there souls for them. I on the other hand don’t. Ohh and i buy gems by the way, becuase I like to help anet out.
Im simply stating, let there be an alternative. EVEN obi armor was not that much of a grind. It at most took a few weeks of minmial farming. DR means anet doesnt want us to farm-and yet the most majestic weapons in the game REQUIRE FARMING. Seriolsy anet, can you produce anymore of a catch 22? I’m doomed if i try to go for it, and if I don’t im also doomed to never have anything worthwhile. Legendaires are also required to a point. They will never be the weaker weapon, anet intends to make them the “Highest OUtput” always. And from the track record, we will be getting alot of new gear levels in the future. Your exotics will be trash by the end of next year.
I hope your wrong about exotics being trash, if this game turners into a gear treadmill like WoW, I’m out now. I’ve no interest in playing a, “if you stop playing you will fall behind” game. I want to work for a legendary. I just want that work to be fun. Is that too much to ask?
How are you going to get stronger? No new traits, no new armor, no new weapons, so how? Just the default adjustments?
Have you done level 80 stuff at 60? People tried that at Lost Shores and got spanked without a group to carry them.
Since it would be a phony level 100 zone, loots would have to be capped at 80, craft nodes unchanged from 80 zones. What would be the benefit of this? I’d rather see some love given to Southsun.
It is a terrible idea.
People are not doing the harder content in the world because there is no reward for it. Having an Ersatz level 100 zone won’t cure that. Hard content has to be worth doing.
Drops would be at your real level, Ascended items will be usable and obtainable in new zone.
“It is a terrible idea.” I know it’s a kitten good idea. You just lack the vision to see it.
Downscaling means all levels are phony anyways.
Games are about overcoming challenges. Once you have the best weapons and armor, what then? Nothing
No it’s not a good idea. As for what then. Did you not play Guild Wars? We had FoW, UW, DoA, Urzogs Warren, The Deep, Toomb of the Primeavl Kings, the last herofant. All top level zones all challenging.
The End.
Think about the way played a level 70-80 zone. You had to play it slower, level up or you die.
level 80 zones don’t have a increased challenge. Just more enemies and mobs to fight.
Raising the level cap in expansion zones. Will make players over come challenges by making them feel like they are getting stronger in the zone. They will go back to there normal after leaving the new zone.
You will have to level up to 100 in each new expansion. This is so every new expansion provides new challenges without gating content from level 80s.
Also this is Not GW! MMO work differently then a co-op game. You have Only Two Chooses.
Endless level increases or Level Cap 80 with upscaled content
No, just no. For a start I was 80 before I hit Orr. This is Guild Wars 2. Made by the same people. Though this game is off to a rocky start I’m confident that ANet know what they are doing. And pleas if I’m wrong, but isn’t the foundation of this game co-op? You can’t solo events on your own. I’ve seen people try to solo the temples in Orr, they can’t be done on there own, your meant, to you know, team up. As for events being story’s, I see then as missions. Not much of a story behind walking a merchant to the next village.
As for the new gear you mentioned. Like ascended, don’t you think that will make some people mad that karma merchants are selling things they had to “grind” to get? And one you did this level 81-100, would I have to do it every time I entered the zone? If not all I’d have to do is “grind” the lower ones first, then I’d be lvl 100 before I hit the last 10 levels. If I did that would annoy me no end having to re level. And if you capped the levelling per zone then what would be the point going else where? You’ve already levelled. You’ll go thee for a look and that’s it. I can see your point really I can. But it just won’t work, there is no need for a 20 level tempery boost. I just don’t see it working. It just all feels pointless. And let’s face it, no one likes levelling really. We all know you don’t get the nice stuff till your 80(unless its a Fiery Dragon Sword, but that’s different.)
Games are about overcoming challenges. Once you have the best weapons and armor, what then? Nothing
I played GW1 for 4 years with the same stat “best weapons and armor in game” I got a month in and still found challenges. I would expect the same here from the company that managed that with no vertical progress and a level cap of 20.
Temp or not, pushing the level cap up is not ‘vision’. It is everymmo and done to death.
Hard, challenging, current content in the world is left undone because there is no point doing it. Champions rarely drop loots of any kind, event payoffs are stingy compared to the time involved. I’m in level 80 zones all the time that are abandoned save for a few “loot corridors”. Nobody bothers with the harder stuff, the rewards are in Fractals.
Amen to that. ANet killed the Zones with fractals. At least on my server there was the initial zurg when flame and frost kicked off. But then back to fractals.
In guild wars you had people all over the place. Granted they where consentraed in to 3 or 4 placed like ToA DoA CoF and grotto. But that’s where the challenge was. When the best loot was. Rather than let the game tank and keep applying quick fixes. They need to get rid of DR. And give the champs and world bosses something worth getting.
In short you want more space buy it.

Wait. Just make more lvl 1-80 zones. And leave the scalping to ANet. And as far as I’ve seen there is no real story in the zones. If there is I’ve not made any of it out.
I finished my PS today. From the 3 bags I got was a dagger, a medium helm and a short bow. Nothing a warrior can use. And all blues. So they are all vender trash. Haven’t seen what the pact trophy thing I have is for yet. But I’m guessing its for a pact weapon. I hope it’s better than rear as I’m in full exotics.
Just a rare with a unique skin.
Honestly none of this should be a surprise, guild wars has never really been a loot-centric game, 1 or 2. It’s more about looks, I guess.
I guessed as much. But I was hoping it would be exotic as I like the skin I have now and I don’t want to change it lol.

I just finished my PS and I have to say WTF was that? The fight with the lich in guild wars was a harder fight. Not to mention the BS gift bags. I got NOTHING I could use. Just blues. So I finish the personal story and have better gear than the end game can give me……. Really. I can not describe how disappointed I am in how the game ended.
No work, no legendary. It is so simple. Why do these whining sing to my ear?
Perhaps you should actually read the posts instead of just talking out of your kitten What has been suggested is that people still have to put in a LOT of time and effort to get their Legendary weapons. What they’re proposing is that the system for obtaining them be changed to actually reflect work, effort, and skill instead of pure, dumb luck and mindless hack-n-slash grinds.
Reading comprehension is a wonderful thing.
Getting a Legendary reflect work, effort and skill. If you don’t like how anet put in this system, don’t get the legendary. After all, Legendary weapons are made to be exclusive and hard to get. After all, they’re optional. You don’t need the stats, you don’t need the shiny, you don’t need the skin.
Please stop complaining about how the work is too hard and too long. There are already other players who achieved it, it isn’t fair to them that anet changes the way Legendary works for the vocal minority.
You say that. But what about people who didn’t start playing the game from day 1 and now have to put up with DR? Is it fair that some of us got to play the game with out that? No it’s not. But that’s life. In guild wars was it fair that Ursan form made doing FoW,UW and DoA easier than it should have been so people got there obi armour and tormented weapons easier than other people? No. But it happened. No one here is asking of the legendary’s to given to them. All we ask is that it is made more fun. And why would the people complain? They get to get another legendary weapon in a fun way. I think you just really need a hug. Or is it that you spend so much money on getting a legendary that you’ll feel robbed if it is to change? I ask this as you seem to be the only one who thinks this is a bad idea. Where as everyone else has had something constructive to say or add. You have just been insulting.
(edited by BrotherBelial.3094)
I would love to get a legendary. But as it stands I will not play the mistic forge. I played Guild Wars a lot. And I have Obsedian armour and tormented weapons. I enjoyed having to play that content. Doing FoW and UW for my Obi armour was great fun. Yes is was grinding of sorts. But it was fun. Same with doing DoA. To get my sword and shield. If ANet wants to make it fun like the black moa chick scavinger hunt. With having to do something like DoA, FoW, and a scavinger hunt and others. As long as none of it involves luck and a tone of farming just to get one small part. I’m all for it. Until then legendary’s will be something I’m not interested in as they are, in my opinion, zero fun to get.
Well done OP.
Maybe I would like feedback daily…
>We’re working on this.
>Yep, we’re working on the same thing.
>While I’m writing this, I could be working on the thing I told you guys about yesterday.Logic.
I guess this is what’s to be expected from a F2p community!
If you like the other games more then why not go back and keep playing them, as you said it,s a F2P game it will still be here in a years time, maybe what ever is troubling you will be fixed by then?
I fully agree with the OP. Just yesterday I was killed in a cave by the spawns. We came in the cave as a team of two. My partner died in the progress but I was able to clear the cave, by the time I went to revive him, the mobs respawned and attacked. So he went to the next waypoint while I died….. killed by the very same mob we just barely survived.
Adding to the suggestion from the OP, I suggest the following , which would support the “Living Story” and “Persistent World” approach that GW2 claims.
I may have a solution for this problem with happens to improve other areas that have been complained about:
Treat mobs, veterans, champions etc the same as resource nods, i.e. after I have killed them I cannot kill them again for the day (the best would be if they were invisible but that may be a stretch technically). As I see it it would address and improve the following:
- RE-SPAWNING: No more respawns would allow a more tactical game, taking out one mob after the other without kiting into the three I killed earlier.
- HARDER ON BOTS: No more farming one small area and feasting o re-spawned mobs
- MORE REALISTIC GAME EXPERIENCE and sense of accomplishment: You can clear areas of mobs, and dont see them re-spawn like nothing ever happened to them just a few seconds/minutes ago.
- FOSTER MAP EXPLORATION and help to revive empty areas as people/we have to travel further to farm and kill mobs.
In order to still support group play mobs should be only unkillable/invisble after I contributed a certain amount of damage, can be different for different mobs.I would be interesting what the forum and ANet think about this.
A good idea in theory. But this would also stop people real players I mean from farming the mats they need for crafting etc. also could leave some players isolated. An area could be cleared by a large group of players, then your left all on your own, and the place looks as empty as can be, also say you killed a mob that was attacking another player it could die for you but what for them would it still be attacking them? After all they didn’t kill it, and that’s how nodes work. As I said good in theory.
So I’m on the very last part of my personal story. I spend an hour getting four other people who want to help/do there’s. then the group falls apart. Why I hear you ask. The way point is contested. That means the five of us have to fight are way up to the gates and do a boss fight before we can start are personal story. I’m up for it, but one person says, ah that’s a pain I’m gonna do something else, send me a message when it’s free. Then another says the same, and the others just leave.
Now I understand that it should be a good resin for people to team up and free up a waypoint, but on my server Orr is already a dead zone, from what I can tell. Most people I know just run FoTM and go to SSC. Contested waypoints around personal story points have hindered me before, and it bugged me then. I played Guild Wars for the PvE side of it and loved it. So I got Guild Wars2 for the same resin. So what I’m asking is simple. Could we have a way where we could just “waypoint” to are personal story missions as long as everyone’s been there or have done it already, as in Guild Wars? Have the story starting point in an easy to get to spot, over a battle just to start the story.
I just think it was unfair to give the option of soloing your personal story just to have that option taken away. Guild Wars made you party up from the start, be it with real people or NPC’s. I would also like the option for NPC’s to fill in on Personal Story only if you want them too. This way I can see the end of my story.
I just don’t want it to be another six months before I finish my personal story.
How about some middle ground? Once you are in a zone it is free to waypoint as long as your not dead. I saw someone say about doing harts then having enough coin for a zone. Good idea till you get to Orr where there are no hearts. And on my server very few players in Orr. I got there early November. And I hate the place I want to kill it with fire! Why? You ask contested waypoints. If I’m unlucky enough to die I normally have to port back to the start of the map. Then go some where else? I’m trying to finish my personal story. But I can’t as the place can be contested, so when I get a group of people to do the last step they say, oh it’s contested, I’ll go do something else then.
I like raiding and I love mounts…. the only things I liked from WoW, but why would you have mounts if we already have waypoints? That just defeats the purpose to me. It’s like they would have to totally re do the entire game just to add some mounts. And my asura is pretty darn fast…. Don’t need a mount with that li’l guy.
Why have a mount in WoW when you have flight paths? There free to use at anytime once you buy them.
I do not support this suggestion.
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
It would appear it is going to change to something like I surggestted. Read the link two posts up.
They already announced last month that the new dailies will actually become like that soon.
They did? I must have missed that. I don’t remember reading anything about that.
From 20 days ago:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/colin-johanson-on-guild-wars-2-in-the-months-ahead/
Thanks I remember reading that but I must have skipped over that part about the dailies. Well that will keep everyone happy I hope.
They already announced last month that the new dailies will actually become like that soon.

Pointless, there is no reason to cater to the QQ’ers.
I laugh at people that struggle with the dodging daily, it basically says you suck.
I could probably make a list of people NOT to invite to dungeonsThe only new daily I don’t like is healer, the Charr area is filled with dying soldiers and I’m certain a lot of people are not aware of that.
But the QQers are normally the people who get what they want. I personally didn’t see the need for gear better than exsotics. But people QQ ed about it as you put it. And look what happened. So maybe it’s not as pointless after all?
Seeing as how people are complaining about the dailies I have an idea. What if you had a list of say 30 dailie quests to choose from, and by completing 5 of them you would gain your dailie? That way it would not “force” people to do things they didn’t want to. That way your dailies could be as easy or as hard as you wanted. Maybe add a karma insentive for the more challenging ones so “everyone didn’t just do the easy ones”? What’s everyone’s thoughts?
I agree. I don’t see the dailies as something you should expect to get on top of (say) dungeon rewards, I see them as something for you to choose between: I have a couple of hours, which would I rather do, run a dungeon, or do today’s daily?
But what if you don’t have the time for a dungeon? Or you don’t like doing them or your unlucky enough to get a pug that fails or falls apart? I had this happen to me a lot in guild wars. I know what some wise guy will say “join a guild” yeah that can be a good way to get around it. But again that not always works as people do like to do different things. And/or have already done it today and don’t fancy doing it again. I’m glad some people have hours to play the game I really am. That means when I have the time away from my family and I get an hour or so to enjoy a game. The world is still full of players I can interact with. But I don’t see why I should be punished for having a family. I want the nice gear. So if/ went I have more time. I’m not playing catchup or trying to do content no one is doing anymore. See my other post in his thread for an idea around that.
You used the R word. Hope you got a brolly for the impending storm.
GW had larger group content that were more fun, IMO, than your regular kill boss / move on linear raids. They were more like large areas than linking corridors, with quest chains that sent you all over the map.
Slaver’s Exile
Fissure of Woe
The Underworld
Sorrow’s FurnaceThat being said, they said they’d be introducing Guild Missions, so who knows what that will entail?
You forgot ursogs warren and the deep. They where the closest thing to a raid Guild Wars ever got too. I only ever did the deep once. As you had to have the right builds for every class or you would fail. They are (as far as I know) the only content in the game you can not do with hero’s.
To solve the dailie problem. I think there should be a list, of say 30 things. From that list of 30 you only need to do 5 to get your dailie reward. That way everyone wins. You can do the dailies that fit the way you play. And you can make your dailies as hard or as easy as you like. I don’t get to play much so I’m always missing my dailies as I’d rather be getting on with my personal story. Today I did the flame and frost prelude so no dailie done there. Am I complaining no. It’s my choice not to do it. But I’ll compromise rather than just say dailies should stay as they are end of.
The “Trinity” is my only wish. But not in the standard sense. I’d like to see each class have the trinity. The ability to fill one of the 3 roles, but on every class. (And yes, I know, this is never going to happen as it would require a re-write of every class, as well as instance mechanics, but hey, it’s a wish list!)
Like a tanking thief, using evasive action, while uttering obscene comments about the creatures questionable parentage. Or one that heals through use of shadow magics, and deception.
Or an Engineer, using they’re knowledge of mechanics to build a golem to tank for them, or an exo-skeleton to accomplish the same. Using alchemy to hurl healing potions and turrets that dispense liquid healing as well!Again, I can wish. None of the above will ever actually happen, but, c’est la vie.
I thought classes could do that already? I know a warrior technically have four, support, tank, spike dps and DoT dps.
Yeah I have a 15" flat screen from about ten years ago lol.
Is there away to hide the account medal panel on the character selection screen? I only ask as I have a small monitor and it takes up half my screen and I really don’t care about my account medals as I’m the only one who ever sees them.
This is just that. A wish list. I don’t expect anything I put here to make it into the game and some probably don’t fit with the way Guild Wars 2 plays. But they are still things I wish would be added.
Vanquish. I loved this in Guild Wars. I know it’s probably impossible to do but I Luke love something like this in Guild Wars 2.
Elite Skill Capping. This is something I would also like to see in guild wars 2. I miss going out in to the world and hunting down a boss. I know this would involve a lot but still.
A dungeon/personal story finder. For the people who don’t want to wast time in LA LFGing. Or a server wide LFGing channel you could join at will maybe?
A return of the underworld and FoW. I’d love to see a Guild Wars 2 version of these places. As well as ToPK.
So what would be on your wish list? And please keep it fun.
use gw2lfg.com
its the unnofficial yet, offical, way to find a group in gw2.
the devs use it.
Thanks for the info. I’ll definitely give it a try before I get on next.
I agree with what you’ve said. The lost shore was lost to me. I encountered way to many bugs that led me to forgo the event altogether. A public test tell would be a good idea. ANet could tell us when it’s up and it could be a free transfer to that realm. And back to your original server. On a first come basis. That way they would get more feed back. I know Blizzard have done this for years with WoW. Though you get a premade or a clone of your toon on there public test realm. Just an idea.
Well, I’d say do what other people do with their CONSOLE games, reroll and play again.
Others have stated it quite nicely. If you don’t want to explore all the game has to offer, that is on you.
Notice the title of the game. It tickles me that people purchase this game and don’t seem to be able to make a connection between the title and the main focus of the game.
Tons of content has been put into this game. if you choose to take a deck of cards and play solitaire with only one suit, well your game is going to end faster and feel lacking.
I don’t own a console so I don’t know what your getting at there. And you seem to have missed that I said I played guild wars. I played the original a lot. I enjoyed replaying the story with alts. I have a total of 12 alts in guild wars. I didn’t play PvP in guild wars and I never felt that I missed out.
Thanks for all the ideas all. I have the skins I like. I’ve not see anything I like more yet. I have also unlocked all the skills. It was the first thing I did. I’m playing a warrior is I only need realistically 2 armour sets. One for spike damage and one for damage over time eg condition damage. I could start work on my damage over time gear. As for levelling other crafting that’s what alts will be for. But I didn’t enjoy levelling crafting so I will probably just sell all the mats I get when I do start my alts.
Yes there is a tone of content. But until they make doing the other dungeons worth while doing in Story mode I’ll not find a group to do them any time soon on my server. Everything seems to be about fractals. The fact I can’t finish my ps with out a group is what’s really getting my back up. At least in guild wars if you didn’t have anyone wanting to do what you wanted you could take the NPC’s.
So I hit 80 and can’t finish my personal story(which is not so personal as we all know. ) with out a group yet I can do a battle my own……. But any way. Once I finish mapping the world what is there to do other than grind dungeons and legendary’s? I have no interest in PvP or doing achievements. I feel there is very little to do in this game compared to guild wars. I’m in full exsotics and have levelled my crafting to 400. So that’s out too. So unless I want to grind. I can’t see what else there is to do.
Thanks for the ideas. The pvp and wvw do not interest me. Same with achievements. I also found the personal story way to confusing as the story feels like it can’t make it’s mind up what your doing. And it’s about trehurn, not me. I’ll just fade away just like in guild wars.
I think you should get the parts for a legendary from achievements. They should also be account/soul bound on creation. I feel you should never be able to buy a legendary. Being able to buy one just takes away the whole point to one. That is just my opinion. I have no intention of getting one as it is way too much of a hassle in my opinion to be bothered with.
Ok so I’ve been a lvl 80 for awhile. And until my guild catches up and we have 5 of us to finish the personal story. Which I feel is bs but that’s a different thread.
So my question is what is there to do now? I have no interest in getting a legendary as they are way too much hard work for me. I’ve looked into getting one but I have to say I’ve not seen one I like the look of save the flame seeker shield or what ever its called. But as I said too much of a pain for me so I’m going to skip that. I don’t like any of the dungeon armours or weapons enough to do them over and over again.
I have a 2 year old son also so I don’t really have the time to do a dungeon as he takes up a lot of my time. So my question is what is there left to do in this game if I don’t want grind a legendary or dungeons?
I agree with some of what you said, I hate Orr, I hate the place with everything I am. I know they have NOW added way points that not contested. And I blame FOTM for me not finishing my PS, as everyone is there on my server. I’ve not been to SSC yet, as I stopped playing after the lost shore weekend as the buggy broken mess that it was put me right off playing. I jumped on over winters day but didn’t do anything to do with that. Just picked up my thing in the mail. I started playing again to see what the new content is about, and I’m still less than impressed. I think I might just go bad and play Guild Wars. It is a much better game.
I kinda liked AB, but I wouldn’t call my self a true pvper.
Seeing as each class has the same few skills to choose from, as some one else said, you know what your going to be up against. Back in GW, I use to help my Alliance members test there pvp builds by trying to finer the weak point in there builds. Now you only really have a hand full of skills to choose from and your weapon will give your attack skills away, as they are all the same, by that I mean a warrior with a great swords attack skills are the same as the next.
This is why I’ll not bother with pvp, at least till there is a bucket of skills to choose from.
NO.
80 is already 60 more than we need.
This, completely this.
I have the full Vigil set. It’s the only one I like.
