I remember when seeing a Legendry was a once in a blue moon event. Now I see someone different with one every time I log on. Yes the price for them is a bit high, but then so was the price of some weapons in Guild Wars 1. I remember the price of an Eternal Blade. If I could really be bothered I could have saved for one. But I never did. It was the one sword I really wanted but never did, dew to it not dropping for me. Some for legendary’s. I would really like the Flamseeker Prophercies, but it’s just too much hassle and farming to get for me, well my biggest problem with it all is the clovers. And needing to be just plain lucky to get them. That gets a no from me, and a no to the who thing. If the items for it where fun to get then I’d probably go for one. But they won’t. And people will cry abou how they had to do it for there’s and that it’s not fair. I just think the whole prosses needs to be refined and made fun not a chore.

Honestly, it does not matter what topics are covered in the LW releases; if I cannot play through the content at my own pace, I will not play it at all. It is so frustrating to have my play timeframe constantly dictated by ANet. You folks put a lot of work into this stuff, I know, but my enjoyment of it is completely spoiled by the stress of waiting for the carrot to be yanked away.

This is a common complaint, and one that we’re very aware of. We’re discussing a variety of ideas that will allow players more flexibility in experiencing the Living World content, but we’re not ready to announce the details since the designs aren’t finalized yet.

Would this work retroactively? There are some LW stuff I didn’t get to start/finish dew to time constraints of the LW/RL. I completely understand if it cannot happen. I was just wondering if once things are finalized, if you could let us know if it will just be moving forward or what ever the deal will be.

But on topic. I have no interest in SAB. I’d rather see the introduction of a new area like FoW/UW, or even the Deapths. Exploring Dwafen/Asuran ruins deep with in Tyria. Now that would be cool.

What happens to Scarlet related events or dungeons once her story is concluded? To keep them would not make sense.

I guess it would depend if you do them or not. If like me you don’t do them, then it would be of no great loss if they just vanished. If you do, then you would have to ask yourself how bothered you’d be if they just vanished or changed, depending on how the LS concludes.

That would me a very good theory, but she is as mad as a bag of spiders. Granted it might be an act, but I’d believe I more if she was cold and calculating.

I always thought of Southsun Cove as a missed opportunity. You could have ended that whole story update about karka invasion with a dungeon Have living story end with a story mode of a new dungeon, and after the update the traditional explorable mode with multiple paths can open. You keep the same model you have with every other dungeon, and this way you can introduce new dungeons through living story updates.

I do like this idea, but. With the LS, if you miss the boat so to speak, you’ll miss out on doing the dungeon. I had this problem with flame and frost. Missed the initial zurg couldn’t finally a group to do it, so I missed out on the end of that story. I liked how tower of nightmears was done. I’d rather see more of that. From what I understand the atherblade path in TA is not that big of a bit with people. From the people I know and various guilds they find that fractals are better for risk vs reward than Atherblade. So they opt for fractals. I feel the that unless something new was offered up by the dungon, it would just get ignored.

I see nothing wrong with that. If it was up to me I’d burn down the pale tree.

ANet have a habit of leaving plot lines. They did it with the Evenia story with beyond, the founding of Ebon Hawke, Plawo Joko. Mqybe we will find out in guild wars 3.

I liked ToN. It was fun, and had cutsenses like in Guild Wars. I hope we get more of that.

They did. When they mentioned the reduced waypoint/BLC key costs. It happened during Cutthroat Politics if you talked to them after the instance with the master.

They mentioned four things, two of which were the same to the other: investigating the Molten Alliance and Aetherblade attacks (i.e., make the four fractals from the dungeons) and adding in those mini-game rotations (which were the same for both even). The other two being the new unique fractal (investigating the Thaumanova Reactor explosion/researching the Fall of Abaddon) and the reduced cost (Kiel using her new captain powers to negotiate with the Arcane Council on her part, Evon just ordering his company to be cheap for a bit).

Doesn’t it all come down to the ratio of new players to old players? Maybe they where testing the waters in that direction what do we the player prefer. What do people prefer temporary content or permanent content? In long run everyone know they voted wrong and there denial of it is hilarious.

Oh, and it looks like Gate Hub Plaza in Lion’s Arch.

You know what I think? If you’ll go to Corliolis Plaza (inactive gates) you can see workers of every playable race. Every worker is connected to one gate. It like Gate Hub Plaza – Peacemaker Officers near gate lead you to Rata Sum, Wolfborn lead you to Hoelbrak etc.. I think that someone will destroy Gate Hub Plaza to cut off connection to all races capitals. With that, capitals would be vulnerable to attack and people would be too spread out. So they’ll have to connect quickly to capitals and they’ll use Corliolis Plaza.

But if I remember right there are more that 5 gates at Corliolis Plazza. I’ve not been there in about a year. I thought that place would be use for places in Elona, Far Shiver Peakes and Cantha (If we ever get to go back.). Maybe this is setting up for a return to an area out side of the current map?

Well if the guy is such a bad kitten . Then they should not be a problem. So I do not see how my response was dumb. People who say the game it too easy need to go find a Challange. Try and solo high level group events and such. Find something that is indeed challenging. I like finding ways of making the game more challanging.

The main problem with Orr, at least for me, when I first went there was; the fact that most way points are contested, you’d spend time freeing them. Then when you make your way across the map and find another one. That too is contested. You try to flip it, get killed. But the one you flipped previously is now contests again. So you end up having to way point all the way back to the waypoint where you entered the zone. That is the resin I stay the hell away from there.

That said… I just did an experiment to see how far I could push myself. I’m in Dredgehaunt Cliffs, down around the level 46 mobs. I just tamed a Lynx and am testing it out, etc. I had the Lynx attack a level 46 Veteran Lynx here. I didn’t fire a single shot. I just stood and watched. My pet won. A level 41 pet against a level 46 Veteran, with no assistance from me. I don’t think that should even be possible. It certainly wasn’t earlier on. That fight would have been over before it began – even with me helping. But there ya go. I think that says it better than I ever could. The game is definitely getting easier as I progress. At least the world PvE stuff.

How many points of Beast Mastery do you have, sir? Also, which traits have you selected within the Beast Mastery line?

I would love this. Yes some people might say it’s too human blabla. But I’m willing to bet if it was fun and well made, no one would care that much really.

Orr is horrible. Most waypoints are contested. And the mobs tend to be in groups or close enough that you and aggro them when you didn’t mean too. South sun can be qute hard too if you wander in to the wrong place at the wrong time.

Been playing since beta. Don’t play a massive amount, RL curbs that. I know quite a few people who have been playing the same length of time as I have. Like me they are GW1 veterans, so I think you maybe right, but I think that it would only apply to people new to GW.

164 I think. I’ve used some making ascended weapons/items/buying new skills. I’ll probably have a not her few hundred when I finish mapping.

I have to admit I quite like pvp. I only started playing it yesterday. My only problem with it is that it can feel quite clumsy. Not to mention some skills fail to connect even when you on top of your opponent, shield bash I find it happens the most with.

But as others have said, pvp just dose not feel as rewarding as PvE.

I miss the guild wars armor.

When ever I’ve bought a game of a retailer for a PC, the retailer normally asks me can my PC run it, and that once opens it CAN NOT be returned. This is the norm in the UK.

It’s not just for PC games. For most goods you can only get a refund if you return it unused in it’s original packaging or with any tags etc. still attached (if it’s an unpackaged product like clothing) within a relatively short space of time (usually about a month) or if it’s faulty.

And faulty specifically means that copy is broken and won’t work like other copies do (for example it’s impossible to install it on any PC). You could possibly include a game having major bugs as a fault, but you’d have a very hard time using that as a reason with an MMO where everyone on your server is essentially sharing your copy of the game so any genuinely game-breaking bugs (by which I mean you actually can’t play the game because of them, not ‘X class is OP and it’s impossible to counter them’) would be well publicised.

I’m not sure if it’s different in other countries though, so it might depend on where in the world you are.

I know, I was only talking about PC games. I would have thought it was the same everywhere. Except online serves, they can just revoke your ability to use the product after giving the refund, like Steam and EA’s Origin do, depending on country.

I’ve been told by a few different people in my guild the answer is no. The bag loot is rolled for your level or something like that. At least that’s what I’ve been told. Maybe a dev will be able to answer.

I think GW2 biggest problem is the LS. With guild wars it was all there. You could do it at your own pace. The LS just feels rushed, game play wise. You have to get through it as quick as you can so you don’t miss out. I’m glad I didn’t like winters day. So I could go do something else. I’ve mist a big chunk of the LS, mostly dew to the abysmal launch of south sun. Trying to do events and the karak or what ever they are called no loading in, I missed finishing flame and frost dew to not being able to fing a group to do the end dungeon. I know it’s in fractles now, but that’s not the point.

Guild Wars has a story you want and CAN replay. Guild Wars 2 has neither of these. The personal story starts off really well, right up to claw island. I really don’t remember the point to the missions after that. Where as in Guild Wars I’m confidant you could name a mission I could tell you the story. The other problem with the personal story are the big level gaps between some of the missions. Your in a race against time but need to be 5 levels higher to stand a chance of getting to the start point, let alone complete it.

What ever is coming next, I hope it is better than what we have had, and follows what we had in Guild Wars story telling and pertinent at your own pace content.

Awesome Gear? In general, what you were grinding for was mats and cash for skins. Not too much different here, except for Ascended gear, which has its own set of problems.

Yes Awesome Gear. There are hardly any skins in GW2 that I think are as good as what we had in GW. The only Legendry I think is nice looking is The Flameseker Prophecies. People may like others, I’m fine with that everyone has different tastes. I just think the weapon and armor in guild wars is superior to that which we have now.

Farming? In general, except for a few named weapons, farming was for mats and cash. Sound familiar?

This exists in every game and always will, difference is in how much fun you make it.

Speed Clears? Another form of mat farming. I ran UW speed clears. It was no less of a “job” than farming for mats here. The big question when you got out of UW wasn’t “Was it fun?” It was “How many ectos did you get?”

Maybe for you. Yes the goal was to get ectos, but also for an Eternal blade. I personally always had fun.

Title Farming? The titles in GW1 were gained through massive amounts of grind/farming. People seem to forget that.

That all depended on how you went about doing it. Running CoF to max delver was one of many ways to get it. It was only as grindie as you made it.

The thing is that GW2 is fun. Asking for an expansion isn’t going to solve the problems people have with farming and grinding. All it will do is give you more areas to grind in.

I’d rather have it packaged in nice little chunks ever few weeks instead of needing to go out and purchase another box.

I’m not a fan of the LS. I like to do things in my own time, story driven content should not be done at brake neck speed. I have no clue as to what’s going on in the LS, and sadly I’ve given up trying to follow it. All I know now is that some crazy plant lady has a plan for something I could not careless about.

I’d rather see my PS progress, rather than being a hero who’s sole purpose was to stop the dragons. Not take an age to throw some weed killer on a plant.

Posting a list would be a better start. Add the vids when you do them. Would be more helpful than what’s there now. Just saying is all.

I had the same problem with Kryta. Turns out I was missing the JP in queens Dale. Just look at the wiki maps. That’s what I did.

So, Ive just built a Mjolnir, which on Charged Lodestones only costs almost 600g, way more than the cost of an Ascended, but still its stats are equal to exotic. I think I deserve better stats than Ascended weapons for my effort.

So, I was thinking that we could upgrade those rare weapons (like Mjolnir) stats to a new tier superior than Ascended. And then, Legendaries would be yet another tier, superior than Mjolnir.

Its very unfair that people who dont wanna make the effort to get a Mjolnir, or an Eye of Rodgort, Volcannus, etc have the same stats as we do.

How about no. I had to spend time and gold to make my acended weapons. At most it should be brought in line to acended weapons at MOST. Or simply, buy a trans crystal so you get the stats you want. You had 600g you can afford it.

But sure I want some GW1 skins in GW2, would love female elite druid armor back, maybe with an even more planty twitch, would be just what I am so desperately wanting for my sylvari. Better yet make something akin to that as new sylvari cultural (to get the same thing with light/glow stuff as the other culturals, not to mention the growing from the body)

Speak for your self. I’m not saying there are not other weapons that should be added, but I think Druid is ugly as, but hats just me. I’d love to see all of Guild Wars elite armors make there way to GW2.

I don’t see the point in going back to UW and FoW. For one as mentioned the gods are gone, I know there are portals and creatures that used to be only in UW, but still gives me no reason to think we get back there.

The gods have “with drawn” that is what is said in the intro of the human story. Considering both areas in guild wars where war zones, there are many resins to go back if ANet want us too.

Gotta be careful it doesn’t gets too human centric afterall…. Maybe if they added new racial specific personal story for all races, it could dig down in the human history and something more about the gods could be included. Actually I like that idea… more racial history for all. As long as everyone gets something, it doesn’t matter that those are different things depending on your race. If it was set after original personal story (which I think might be best) it might even motivate me to complete the last bits of it on my last toons.

If you ask me I hunk the game needs to be less sylvare centric, as a race I feel the game favors them way too much. The “big hero” of the PS and he villan of the LS are both tree people, id like to see a lot less of them as a race.

Ok got sidetracked. Guild Halls surely will make a come back eventually, and I will never lose hope, that Cantha will be back… I really really wanna go there… A LOT. I want to swim in the Jade Sea (I am on the “the jade has melted” theory), walk through a greener, but still dark Echowald Forest (if the effects of the Jade Wind was declining on the sea, it would so too in the forest), I want to get well and truly lost in a Kaineng City, even bigger and more complex than it was over 250 years ago (even if we will have to fight a xenophobig emperor to get there), I want to see the isles again and explore all the areas around those mentioned areas, that we never got to see before.

I could not agree more. I disliked factions at first, but then I found the beauty in the game. I really hope we get o go back there.

I also want to go to Elona, it is time that the mistake of freeing Palawa Joko got fixed, and who knows, there may still be some living and more or less friendly centaurs about, and there is sand… lots and lots of sand. It would be another undead enemies centered storyline, but it is a different kind… more mummies less zombies. Who knows what could still be alive.

I not fussed on going back to Elona. It was a great place, but I’ve had my fill of undead for now.

Then there is Far Shiverpeaks, Crystal Desert, Maguuma wastes, and a ton of areas we have never even known about, but just been blotchy stuff on the maps.

I can not wait to go back to the Far Shiverpeaks. I loved that place. It is ANets master peace.

I was wondering if anyone knows if you can -image GW2 like you could with Guild Wars. As I remember it it downloaded everything to your PC and made load times near instant. I was hoping this could be done with guild wars 2. I would try it but I’m away from my PC for a bit, so I just wanted to know so I can set aside the time to do it. Thanks in advance.

1) FoW, UW, ToPK, DoA, Urzogs and The Deep.
2) Capes.
3) HoM.
4) The sweet armor/weapon skins.
5) Monk, loved my smiter.

Just finished leveling my weapon crafting today. From 400-500 is not fun at all. After that I’m never leveling a crafting profession again. Having to craft hings I will never use/need is a pain, hen making very little off the sale of said items made the whole proses not fun at all. Not to mention he ascended weapons don’t look all hat great. Glad I have some tans gems handy so I could put a skin on I liked.

The problem with crafting in this game is that crafting gives you nothing you can’t buy save ascended weapons/armor. In other MMO’s you normally get something, like a stat increase dependant on what crafting skill you use. If I remember right in WoW if you where are armor smith you got extra toughness from swinging a hammer makng the armor, the in game description would say. I think it went up every 50-100 points in the skill. All ANet needs to do it add something like this. And have it so only the 2 currently used craft skills being used are in affect. This would make crafting useful and encourage people to use them/level them.

I’m guessing most replys on this thread are for people who play a lot. I’m lucky if I have enough time to do my dailies. I get time to play normally three times a week for 2 hours at most. So at most 6 hours a week dew to work and real life. The gold sinks are a pain for me. I find it hard to gather the gold needed to buy the extra mats I need ect for crafting buying items that I need. I know how important they are but some are silly. Like the cost for using one to Rez. It would work like it did in guild wars. You Rez at the closest one to you/found. The damage to your armour can also be costly during world bosses with out the way point Rez costs. But that’s just me.

Some good ideas there. Maybe she has some how been corrupted by Menzies the Mad half-bother of Balthazar?

It’s an interesting idea. I’ve had the same thoughts but in regards to Dhuum and Menzies being the culprits. As they where at war with the gods before Nightfall happened.

There was nothing stopping you from doing the same thing. And it’s not like people will profit from them as they are account bound. And anything that can be made with them will just flood the market and be used up quickly so by February things will be back to normal. But seeing as it was a mistake onANets part and now been fixed. Just because you where here for the Meta to get the nod dose not make you more important than someone who just starts playing.

So when so ring like this happens again that makes it easy for EVERONE to get something, man up and accept it. In stead of comng to the forums whining about how unfair it is.

I didn’t play winters day last year. I was keen to see what it would be like. I have to say I’m very disappointed for the following resins.

1) more back items. I’m sure some people are happy but I would rather something more useful, like a 20 slot bag or something else that people will use, not just over wright once a new back item comes out.

2) the jumping puzzle it just annoying. I’m not a fan of them at all. I’m sure there at people who like the puzzles but I don’t.

3) can’t group with friends to do some of the activity’s. This kills the fun for me. So I’ve not tried them.

Now for the good.

1)I loved the end to the tower. It was great. The cinamatic was amazing. It’s ashamed the PS didn’t have them like this.

2) the changes to kessex hills are great. Players who didn’t get to see the tower will get to see the aftermath.

3) The new events are also a great touch. I have to say the tower story has been my favoret by far. More of this please.

As far as acended gear go’s, I’m very disappointed in the skins. I’m sure someone worked very kitten them, but I feel Guild Wars had better armor skins. I’m not just talking the “Eliet” armors but the standered armors you could get from the start. The only set live added to the game that I think is nice is the phalanx skin set. I love collecting armor, I have about 10 sets in Guild wars, Just for my Warrior. Other level 20 toons have 2-3 “Eliet” sets each. I would love to see the Guild Wars “Eliet” armor sets make it into Guild Wars 2 via crafting or from new content.

The new healing skills sound good. In no tried them yet as I can only get the one for my main as I don’t have the skill points on my alts as they are all low level 50 down to level 6. I do like the additions of skills keeps builds fresh.

As for the rebalance I’ve not really noticed any changes to my damage out put/servivability as a warrior/guardian.

After spending all that time getting my sets of “Eliet” armor like my Obby set getting the infushion done was easy, but still fun.

Ah nuts. I hope this won’t inflate the price.
