The real question is…. how big would glints baby be now after 250 years?
The below picture is what it looked like in GW1. The other creatures there are dwarves.
Picture is from GW1 wiki, might go grab my own soon.
Anyway, I don’t think it is inside a ship.
I’d think too big to fit into the sanctum. I mean look at the size of Glint. She’s not small.

Since one of her offspring was in Elona, do we honestly think the Zephyrites have one? Do we even know if it’s under Kralkatorrik control? Could it be the Shatterer? So many questions.
They did travel the world. Also flying ships bubbles might not be blocking them
Actually i said elona which is wrong, sorry.
I’d find it really hard to believe they’d be carrying around a (most likely large) dragon. Glint did have a lot of eggs though, they might be toting some of those around.
Still makes me wonder if the Shatterer is one of glints offspring.
As I said in an earlier post. After a long discussion in the lore forum, the consensus is that the Shatterer is not one of glints off spring. If a dev wants to swoop in and tell me I’m wrong that would be great. But until then most people I’ve spoken to thing the Shatterer is just a construct, as it’s body is different to that of Glint, but the. This could just be a redesign. But with that’s said. With the speculation that went on I’m sure we’d know by now if the Shatterer was.
The model, you’re right, doesn’t fit. But, there was a child, so where is it? Well at least one we know of. Also curious as to who helped bring that child into being? Kralkatorrik? Not really possible as he was asleep. One thing i really wish anet would do is tie some of this lore together. I mean could Primordus, get a glint baby? He was one of the first elders to awaken… Maybe my lore is rusty and dragons are asexual and i’m totally missing that.
I’ve always thought of Glint as asexual. As the dev’s said back in Guild Wars 1 that Glint was a different dragon to Kuwalavang, or what ever his name was(the dragon in factions). Or they could be Kralkatorrik’s eggs. And Glint was guarding them but over time, wanted to turn them against Kralkatorrik? The speculation could go on for ever, so to stop my self from getting a bad head, I’ve decided Glint is asexual.
Thinking back on this, i remember a post on guru several years ago, so i dug it up.
Regina Buenaobra said:
The way our lore folks explained it to me was that the “lesser” (e.g. humans, charr, asura, etc.) races attribute gender to the dragons, because mortals like to categorize things. We put things into boxes to better understand them, and this includes attributing gender to forces of nature like the elder dragons. The dragons have no true gender, at least not as humans or char understand gender. However, mortals refer to most of the dragons with male pronouns.(Personally, I like the idea of referring to Kralkatorrik with female pronouns, but it’s not accurate to refer to Kralkatorrik as such.)
Interesting. So they are asexual. So the only question left is do the Zepherites have the eggs or a baby?

So, Anet should put aside all their resources to make content for the 1-2% of people that play in giant, hyper organized groups, and ignore the 98-99% of players that don’t? It sounds like this is what you are suggesting.
More like Anet already caters to the average player. 99% of all content is normal mode. It’s only fair that we 1%ers get some love too. So yes, they should devote some resources so that all players in GW2 have content for them.
And why wouldn’t Anet cater to 99% of players compared to 1% of players? It doesn’t make sense to design any amount of content that only 1% of all players will ever enjoy if there is a way for 99% of players to enjoy it as well as the remaining 1% at the same time. The suggestion in my previous post is just one of many ways.
So you mean to tell me if anet decided to add some hardcore content , you would never do it because your too casual for it? You mean to tell me 99% of the playerbase will never even bother trying it and if they do try and fail, they just give up and never try again and would consider it dead content? 99% of the playerbase would do this? Get realistic.
A lot of casual players would love to have challenging hardcore content.
If all you want are temple zerging, theres already plenty of that junk. Go do them, if you don’t like it that anet wanted to add something extra for the few remaining hardcore players, why you getting all your diapers in a wad? You act as if you will be completely restricted from doing the new hardcore content, when in reality its just something thats not your taste and thus will whine about it and say why didnt anet make something more useful that i like? This game is already a freakn cake walk , stop acting as if adding some challenging content is all of a sudden going to kitten 99% of the playerbase off
You would be surprised hon how many servers Teq was quit on. When I was on FoW before the mega server update, teq was never done on the server. You could go there when ever he was dew to start and ghost town. He’d sit there in his little bone cage all alone. No one even bothered with the worm. It was guest to another server. Battle of LA was the same. I think the server nearly did it once. After it failed it was time to gets to deso all over the map chat.

Brisban wilds …. hash tag so i guess its a anticlimatic announcement that s2 beginning will just be brisban with giant thorns copy and pasted into the map everywhere instead of brand new maguuma waste being unvailed it’ll probably be a map revamp like LA was… A new map without a new map

Hidden Lake in Brisban Wildlands is almost certainly Majesty’s Rest. The topogrpahy is correct and its position relative to other landmarks such as Aurora Glade, Fort Koga, the Henge of Denravi (Shattered Henge) and the river that starts to the southeast and flows away are roughly correct.
If you look at this map http://gw2.mmorpg-life.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/guild_wars_2_points_of_interest.jpg
You can see that it is above that, some of majesty’s rest maybe in brisban but not the Mausoleum. As you can see this map is very accurate.

Ok just checked the wikki and there is only one of glints baby’s in Guild Wars that we know of, this is from the wikki;
Glint’s lair is filled with eggs — some of which the young heroes may attempt to steal during the bonus of The Dragon’s Lair, much to Glint’s annoyance — and by 1078 AE, at least one of these has hatched. The Destroyers seem determined to kill her offspring, and her loyal servants, the Dwarven Brotherhood of the Dragon, have come to its defence.
There is no mention of a baby glint in Elona.

Glints child is not the Shatterer. I brought this up around a year ago. It was the general consensus that the Shatterer was very different to what glint was, not to mention way way bigger. And given the age of Glint, having been around since the last time the dragons awoke we would have seen her at full size I would imagine.
I don’t remember Glint having a child in Elona. I will have to look at the wikki.

Dungeons 1 for killing the elder dragon should be expected
maps definitely 2 or 3 equivalent of Orr mostlikely
New dragon champion boss incounter
I agree with this. The only thing I would add is maybe a dungeon. If/when we get to kill the dragon it maybe at the end of a dungeon like with Zhitan. But on the flip side, people didn’t like the fact they had to party up and do a dungeon to complet there PS, so this is just as likely not to happen.

I don’t think that Glints child would fit in the sanctum. To be fair it was quite big in eye of the North. I would imagin it would have grown a far bit in the 250 years. If they are guarding Glints child it would be somewhere else.

So in the past day or so, ArenaNet put up about two audio files. They go as follows:
Kasmeer: “Between you and me, I think these zephyrites are hiding something.”
Rox: “What is all this asuran googling mook anyway? These symbols and stuff are making me nervous.”
Now rewind to what Taimi says during the Festival of the Four Winds update.
Taimi: “I’m getting some strange readings from these crates.”
Taimi: “I think the zephyrites are taking on more cargo than usual.”
Taimi: “The zephyrites won’t allow me to look inside the crates, because of Scruffy.”
(Taimi quotes were somewhat paraphrased, but still.)Now, look at that dialogue, and it appears that the whole ordeal could have been an inside job. We also know something else as well, that a sylvari from the last time the bazaar was around got his dialogue changed. The last time, he was not permitted to be on their airship, but this time he was.
Could it be the sylvari named Trader Aerin? He is seen in the cinematic video that anet put up. You can see him walking across a bridge seconds before the explosion.
Maybe, just maybe, someone wanted to either kill or capture Glint’s baby. The hint at asura makes a lot of sense, since that implies it may have been inquest who wanted to have the baby for their own scientific purposes, which is very typical of asuran inquest. And, we already know they’ve tried to study dragon magic before, in the form of the Crucible of Eternity and the Thaumanova Reactor.
Also, as a side note, in the trailer for the Festival of the Four Winds update (which can also be seen in-game when you get to the top of the labyrinthine cliffs for the first time, though I don’t think it played for everyone. The same happened with the drill explosion and attack on LA cinematic before, so I wouldn’t be surprised.), there’s a ship with red sails that has a glowing door which closes mid-way through the cinematic.
In the new trailer where the sanctum is sabotaged, if you look carefully, it’s not the entirety of the zephyr sanctum that was destroyed. No, in-fact, only one part was blown up: The ship with the red sails, the very same ship shown in the trailer for Festival of the Four Winds.
It’s possible that the ship with red sails was where Glint’s baby was being held.
Thoughts?
Glints Baby was fairly big in Eye of the North. If it was in a sanctum air ship thin I would think it was being held against its will. Also I think it would have grown a lot in 250. Glint was really big in guild wars, bigger than the sanctum, so I don’t think glints child would be on board.

I’ve seen people mention the dev live stream saying a lot of GW1 lore in LS2. But everyone has failed to provide a link.
|Seasonic S12G 650W|Win10 Pro X64| Corsair Spec 03 Case|
As long as the LS is sylvari centered there will not be gw1 lore in gw2. Simply because the sylvari where not in GW1. I honestly don’t expect to much of lore being fallowed through. Anet likes to leave things open ended it appears so we close the loopholes ourselves.
Who says it will be Sylvari centered?
Anet on a few occasions. It is why scarlet was first villain and Mordy is first dragon. Main Lore wireter is heavly bias to sylvari and mentions how she wishes to expend there lore through LW.
They are a race that don’t know their own identity kidnapped as a child.
I think that if they do it will be a side story. Plenty of people have stated there dislike of Sylvari leads in the guild wars story. Trehurn then scarlet met a very mixed reception, I for one found them very boring. Which has also lead me to have a strong dislike to the whole race. I really wish they where not part of the game. They should have used the Tengui.

Could not agree more.
And Rotscale…definitely want to see rotscale!
I agree. How ever, geographically Majesty’s Rest would be directly adjacent to Queensdale. So they would have to expand further west of Kryta, rather than the jungle.
That is true, but Majesty’s Rest was a transition map. It was half Kryta half Maguma.
From the Wiki;
Although Majesty’s Rest is considered to be in Kryta, it is divided into a Maguuma Jungle area and a Krytan area, each with their own typical vegetation, landscape and foes. Chests in the Maguuma Jungle area will be Krytan Chests.
So we could see it, but I’m not holding my breath.

Nope. The maps in guild wars where amazing, but also very small. Like kessex hills is about 4-5 zones from GW
Yes and no, they were small in direct comparison with GW2’s maps, but they took longer to traverse and so the world felt a lot bigger (not to mention there were just more areas in GW1, map completion in Prophecies took an age compared to map completion in GW2).
Yes and no. Mapping was harder in guild wars dew to having to scrape every inch of the map. In GW2 you only have to clip the area to have it count as being mapped.

“Log in on July 1 to experience the start of Living World Season 2 and unlock the story content permanently in your Journal!”
So does this mean that we have to actually play the living story updates to be able to play them AGAIN later on with the journal? No it doesn’t mean that at all. You log in, the story content is added to the journal and from there it is replayable on all of your level 80 characters.
I thought the purpose of the journal was to allow people to see updates they previously missed.
It is.
Why would you spend so much resources just to let people go back and see something they’ve ALREADY SEEN?
They aren’t. The journal is for everyone but mostly for those that Haven’t seen / played the content. You have somehow misunderstood something somehwere.
The point is, if you miss the event you can’t go back to it.
You can go back to it. That is kinda the whole point. Either the content is permanent open world stuff (like a new zone or new / reworked world boss etc) or it goes into the journal.
So why have the journal?
So that story content can be replayable.
If you’ve logged in then you’ve very likely played it anyway.
False. Some players schedules vary and perhaps they can only log in for a few minutes. This give them the chance to not miss anything.
The typical Living Story update can be seen in its entirety after 1-2 hours.
True. But they have told us that they learned from season 1 so we will have to wait and see if this remains to be true. They have said after all the achievements are no longer guiding checklists and are more skill based.
QFT.

I have to say, this is a concern I share, and a major one. If you take a look at the major events of season 1 and remove the heroes from them, what changes? Ultimately, I suppose, Scarlet would have lived if there hadn’t been anyone there to take her down, but everything leading up to that point would have been essentially the same. You could argue that common people would have died in greater numbers without someone to destroy the tower of nightmares, molten facility and atherblades, but that does nothing to ease my sense of pointlessness in the whole affair.
Despite having an organization designed to fight dragons, no action was taken to hunt Scarlet until very late in the story. And when the time came to find her secret base of operations, you simply went to the star on the map when finding her should have been a major part of the story.
Despite belonging to the organization responsible for defeating a dragon, no one believed us when we said there was danger coming to Lion’s Arch. We were unable to save the city because it was arbitrarily written into the story that this would be an impossibility.
If the idea of this game is to have a living world – a world that breathes and changes by the actions of its players – then the very idea should be that the actions of the players impact and change the world. That by saving a certain number of citizens we could have turned the tide in Lion’s Arch. That by defeating the hybrid more quickly in the tower of nightmares we could have mitigated the danger.
If Season 2 is another story on railroad tracks, where the main characters are destined to stumble and lose the entire course of the story no matter how hard they try, what’s the point?
I’m not saying it should be easy. I’m not saying the heroes should always succeed at everything they do. But there has to be a balance somewhere. We have to be able to do something good at some point, or why bother?
Season 1 of the LS was stated early on that is was happening at the same time as your PS. The pact was busy taking down Zhitan. Secondly we are playing out a story. No matter how well we do, if the enemy is supposed to win then they will. If this where a single player game like Mass Effect or Dragon Age where they have branching story and the choices you make effect the out come then I’d say you have a point. But it’s not. I’m guessing you like my self are not a game designer, or work at ANet, so we don’t know how hard it is to make content, not to mention the wasted time and money for content that might never be seen if ANet where to go down the rout of “if the avarage kill time for the scarlet fight is less than (X) we do the rainbows and unicorn ending”. That would mean the total destruction ending could never be seen and people would be on ANet then for wasting time on content we are not even seeing.
I enjoyed the game play of season 1, I just hope the story flows better so I don’t feel to disjointed from the story.
As for people saying about this story being a fairy tail, it’s not. It’s a story of life. There are not always happy endings, just endings. And just because you won the battle, it will not mean you win the war. We beat scarlet, but she won. That’s how life works sometimes. Is it fair? No but then what in life is? Someone told me once, “only one thing you can be serten of in life, and that’s you’ll die, everything else is luck, chance or your just charming enough to get it.”

Was just checking out all the area;
The portal in Brisban, behind the bushes you can’t get through has something that looks sort of like a shimmery figure in front of it, not sure, hard to tell. But the shining blade ghosts in that Aurora ruins area say there is a White mantle Champion in there somewhere, and all I saw was some normal white mantle ghosts, no champion. So wondering if when the access opens, if the shimmery figure ends up being a white mantle champion in front of the portal.
The Brisban bandit talk (not sure if people are discussing it anywhere) has to be about the fort a little ways above where aurora is, that’s filled with level 80 champion bandits. No way to actually fight them, though with 1200 range weapons, you can poke at them, and get them to pretty much one shot you down… Not sure how that fort will get implemented for play, 80 lv foes in a much lower lv zone.
The shining blade ghost is talking about the guild wars 1 bonus mission boss of aroura glade mission. There is also a DE in that area where you kill him, but you have to do something first as I’ve done the event. It was a really great nod to the original game as when the game first came out it was quite a hard bonus mission to do as you had to stop the white mantle from activating the portals before you did so you could enter the Henge of denravi. I do hope they do more nods to guild wars like this.

The funny part is that getting items via RNG is actually considered by ANet to be a viable way of acquiring them.
Worse than viable, an ANet dev once stated it was the most fair method.
You forgot to says fun and exciting. I’m 99.99% sure she said RNG is fun and exciting. When questiond on it. I’m 99.99% sure she said if you get a good drop you get excited right?
No, not excited. Over kittening joyed. When I’m drowning in a Sea of blue and greens, getting a rare or exotic is cause for celebration. Now I have 80% magic find I get on average 1 rare a day, if I don’t do a temple or world boss. So I guess it’s not too bad for a few hours of game play. But I’ve gone weeks at a time of having nothing but blues and greens, again unless I do a boss or temple. So yes RNG is kitten, but it’s in every game where you can get gear.
I’d just rather an epic quest line to get a precursor. And by epic, I do mean Epic! One that takes months to do. So you can feel truly legendary.
|Seasonic S12G 650W|Win10 Pro X64| Corsair Spec 03 Case|
The only problem I see you havering is the precursor. Seeing as how often they drop/getting the one you want to drop, everything else is fairly simple to get if you play every aspect of the game. I mean you can get the T6 from don’t your dailies/mothlies. The loadstones you can get from doing PvP tracks from the champ bags, and the tracks them selfs maybe? You’ll have to use the MF to make them.
I too am taking the long road with my legendary. I’m planning on getting the mats before I buy the precursor I want if I don’t get lucky first.
I started about a two weeks ago, I’m sitting on duble figures of most T6 mats dew to making mistic clovers. I’ve gotten 7 out of the 30 Ecto I’ve put in so far. So I would recommend going for the mistic clovers first to speed up your acquisition of T6 mats.

- Grenth’s Balance
Elite Skill. If target foe has more Health than you, transfer half the difference from that foe to yourself and nearby allies (divided equally). Cooldown 210 sec.No. You honestly have no idea just how broken this skill is capable of being. I mean, REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLY no idea. You ever go fight Tequatl, THW, or any of the other “mega” bosses? That’s the last thing we need, bunch of necros sitting on 1-5% health popping this skill on bosses and eating away millions or tens of millions of hp in a single skill.
Easy fix. Max health stollen is 50% of your base health. There all better now.

I had a quick read over what you said, the only problem I see are with these skills.
Mesmer:
- Signet of Humility
Elite skill. Target enemy’s elite skill is disabled for 20 seconds. Cast time 2 sec. Cooldown 180 sec.
- Arcane Mimicry
Elite skill. Copy target’s elite skill. Cooldown based on that skill.
Now from what I understand monsters in Guild Wars 2 don’t have elite skills like enamy’s did in Guild Wars. They have “monster skills”. Nor are they player eliete skills used by enemy’s as far as I’ve noticed. Not to mention mesmerism stacking these skills on world bosses. Could you imagin how easy teq would be is you just nulled his main attack? Or could stock the bone wall?
Great idea though.

Does anybody else have a bank full of ascended rings from fractals? What should I do with them??
I need something to do with all of them. I know they sell for 5 silver but that seems a little silly. I would suggest they make it so they can be salvaged or at least give out other ascended items besides rings.
Infuse them maybe? Give them to alts. Keep them for different builds.

The only Legendary about these weapons are they grinding time, nothing more nothing less.
and I just say I got more fans with this armor/weapon/shield than many others with full Ascended and 2-3 Legendaries.
All I can say is…… Epic.

I’m going for a legendary. I’ve not made my mind up about which one, maybe sunrise/twilight or The Flameseeker Prophercies. I’m slowly getting everything I need, but it’s not my all consuming goal. I’ll get there when I get there. Maybe if I get a precursor that will make my mind up for me, but I’m not that lucky.

Yeah a group of us took about that long a few weeks back. I was expecting some
Epic loot from it as for some resin it’s picture didn’t load we just all saw a health bar that went down as slow as a world boss. It took so long I was waiting for it to tell use “what is dead may never die!”

Ive done CP, and seen first had people just ignoring, the “How Too” instructions. when people start to do that, all we did was just let the boss kill them, then not revive them.

I’ve finaly started working on a Legendery, I’m thinking The Flameseeker Propherces, as i really like the skin, but my go to weapon it the Great sword, but the prices on Dawn and Dusk are freaking nuts. They are 3 times the amount of The Chosen. I have no problem, with people selling them, but really, there is nothing Legendery about buying it from the TP.

Cultural armour and weapons – enough said.
Not everything should be soulbound, but their are items that need to be..
This is already covered. I have transmuted human T3 on to my ascended armour and only human heavys can use it. My norn warrior can’t use it unless I change the skin to a universal one. So soul binding is not needed there. Soul binding dose have it’s places. On things like skill points. But gear should be account bound I think. But only once you equip it. So you ca. Still sell I to. The TP if you just acquire it normally.

This thread is starting to make me chuckle.
“Having to purchase it makes for better content”
As a GW1 vet, I have one word for you….. Factions.
A loooooot of players absolutely hated that campaign, which I never completely understood. However they would argue that just because they had to buy it didn’t make it worth what they paid.
I have to admit I didn’t like factions to start with. I found Kaning a bit of a mess at first. But it grew on me. And they areas in the game are beautiful. I didn’t have a problem with nightfall. I enjoyed that also. But I would say it’s the one I’ve played the least. Eye of the North on the other hand. I loved that. It felt epic, and just like in Prophices, you the player where the centre of it all. They felt like true personal story’s.

Maybe when LS2 drops well just have a thread for a dev with the title of LS2 news. Then the following
“And Cantha, I’ll just let that sink in.”

It makes me laugh how the OP is replying to post he can argue with. But every post that mentions the fact that this will not fly dew to the game launching in China he ignores.
It’s quite simple. ANet do this now, I would guess. They would lose money in China as players would feel they where mislead even lied to. I know some people feel ANet have gone back on some of the things they said before launch but China will have the game I think ANet wanted at launch.
Maybe in a years time ANet might look at doing your idea OP, but I really do not see it happening. I have played lots of game that have payed DLC. On the most part it’s content that should have been in the game anyway. Look at how much flack EA published games get for there “DLC”. Mass Effect 2/3 is a fine example. Day 1 DLC that even comes on the disc AD. They have the cheek to say they worked on it after the main game. I know that with ANet it’s a different story, but the way LS2 is looking. It’s going to be the continuation of your PS that people will say should be in the game and not charged for. If it was something like the bonuse mission pack from GW, then I have no problem it’s optinal content.
TL;DR
LS2 should be as ANet have announced.
Optinal story’s like the bonus mission pack from guild wars should be charged for.LOL — the only post referencing China is yours… you must be offended I didn’t reply to you specifically?
China is a different animal and it’s going through a local developer. They can create content for sale outside China and then give it away in China. The point is moot as it’s a different market with a different business arrangement.
My point is (and has always been) that selling content is good for the game.
It’s not popular because a portion of the game community would rather spend money on pretty skins, RNG consumables, and other cosmetic fair rather than for quality content.
Many posters in this thread have said there’s no evidence that selling content will actually result in better content. However there is evidence to the contrary. LS1 is not an “expansion worth of content”. If you feel that way then you are not being objective.
So there is evidence that not paying for content gets you LS1 quality fair. You’re playing it…
I see you you not a fan of reading. Your own thread just the posts you can pick at to cove your view. I was not the first person to mention China.
A mandatory charge would be bad – especially for china. The episodes contain only an instanced piece of story and some rewards/challenges coupled to it. They mentioned in the livestream the rewards will not be “must haves”. I assume many people will complain soon after launch. Not many people would buy the episodes anyway. In addition you can guest to enjoy the story. You will find many videos about the story for each episode on youtube. I suspect the sales via episodes will be small.
And Ncsoft/ANet want to keep the game the same across the board. They only thing, as I understand it is the gem store items. But game play wise, the game here is the same in China, just translated.
And no your idea is unpopular as ANet have already said what they want to do. I personally have always found DLC as a cash grab by dev’s to eek out the life span of there game. Instead of making a great game with great content, where anything added was free! Take the FPS market. They charge crazy money for map packs. I remember when dev’s would make them for free, to encourage people to buy there game. I feel this is what ANet are trying to do. Regain players, build up the rep of the game. I a few years we might get payed for content. I think where the game is right now it would be a very bad call.
There are enough people unhappy with the Living world as is. Charging for content up front would split the player base, and I’ve seen that kill the community of a game. This would also mean ANet having to run more servers as they would have people playing the payed for content alongside people not paying for it.
Take the tower of nightmares release for instance. You would have to have two kessex maps running, then they’d have to add another tick to there mega server system so the people who have payed and those who have not are on the right servers. This would add work that I feel ANet just don’t want to do.
Saying that paying for content will improve its quality is just not true. I’m sure we have all played games that are not that great, the same can be said for DLC. I e played DLC that was just terrible.

Depending on what I do when I’m on, I can normal make up to 10 gold from doing AC all paths. Some days I’m lucky if I make a gold if I’m just leveling an Alt. Some days I don’t make any gold as I spend it all lol.
But what I tend to do is every few months I empty my mat storage and I normally make around the 90-100 gold mark. I don’t get to play all that much so farming is out of the question for me.

(Personally, I like the idea of referring to Kralkatorrik with female pronouns, but it’s not accurate to refer to Kralkatorrik as such.)
