I don’t understand why are people so upset about raids having a good-quality, significant storyline. I don’t want raids to have some quick made up stories that don’t matter. Just play the content or watch videos of the dialogues if you want to see it. Earn it and don’t whine.
Really? You don’t see it? The story telling in Raids seems to be amazing. Not to mention covering some of the biggest lore story’s in Guild Wars. But if you can’t raid for what ever reason. I simply don’t have the time. My life will not allow it, you miss out big time. This story is something I’ve wanted to know the end of for ages. But guess what. I can’t raid so I can’t enjoy the story telling. Many people have been asking for a story mode to the Raids since they came out. Most if not all the people asking for the story modes want just that. The story. Not the raid rewards, just the ability to enjoy the story with out having to be all hard-core raider.
But if ANET do not wish to do that. Add a clear mode or something already. So people who want to look around and enjoy the story can, and not have to rely on the kindness of others to open a clear raid for them.

I have to say, I’m a little disappointed by Soul’s story being wrapped up in a raid. This is a massive story to GW1 players. I don’t have time to raid. I don’t it is that simple. I would love to do that but I don’t have the time, and I don’t think I ever will. If Raids are going to keep having these lore rich story’s. Then they need to have a story mode. I’m not saying people get the same loot as Raids. No. You want that loot you raid. But being shut out of a massive story like this, feels wrong to me. Sure I can get a fellow guild member to open it for me. I did so today. But you don’t get the same feeling for the story watching cinematic replays, or walking around an empty map. I love that we finaly have closure on Saul. I also think it was done right. But doing big lore story’s like this just wrong.

I liked the map the way it was. Now I hate it. It feels very small, and you can snowball a match so quickly. Same for the changed to Cap. It’s just a big open space now. Might as well just remove all buildings and levels and have one big cap point for people to fight over. As it stands the maps are getting worse not better.

The average player just cannot complete the story !
In GW1 you had the option of selecting normal mode and hard mode. It at least provided payers with an option to play at the level they wanted
I’ve done this fight twice so far, once on a full Zurker warrior, and again on on a full trap guard. I probably died 5 times with my zurker warrior. but the second time with my guard was a cake walk. Next up will be my ranger. and I fully expect not to die again. if you can’t figure out that you need to get his shield down quick, and DPS him down then, maybe it’s you and not the game. Maybe change your build? The game is not about one build for every game mode. you have other skills and traits for a reason, try changing them up a bit.
Yes the fight before the patch was on the hard side, and probably something Raiders enjoyed. after the patch I’d say it is in a good place. it’s still challenging, but not a just walk up to the boss and spam 1. He is a boss.

This episode was great. The map is just amazing. I really liked the look and feel of it. The story was good, and I really liked the nods to the CM path. Cracked me up about the barn door. “Yeah, that was me. I thought it would have been fixed by now.” I really enjoyed exploreing the map too I’m looking forward to having another wander tomorrow.
The only thing I didn’t like was the last boss fight. It was very annoying, not really difficult, just annoying getting stun locked and killed by Cautious and a Jade. That is my only gripe with the episode. I’ve seen people saying in map chat that the leather farm needs a lot of people to be doing it to be able to do it. I was lucky and happen to stumble in to a zurg at the right time to do it, so it’s the only thing I can’t really come to on, and I’ve not done the maze yet. But so far, my favourite LW map by far

I personally have over 400 charges, But I know people who use them all the time, and never have the same look for long. probably for every person who uses very few T charges, there are those who burn through them. I have no problem with having to use them because I have so many, the only people who want to get rid of them, are the people who use them us as soon as they have them.

Hello. I have saved enough Ascended Shards of Glory to buy a new ascended set but I still can’t decide for which class and I’d like to ask if the merchant will be there after the pvp season is over.
If they do the same as the other seasons, he will not go anywhere. Season 1-4 vender has not gone away since the start of season 1, so safe to say season 5 vender will follow the same pattern.

Seeing as they announced HoT over a year before it launched, I tho k ANet will want to keep things under wraps until the game is a few months away from launch. So we will not get it until season 3 is over, and at a guess I’d say we will probably get between 8-10 episodes.

so the OP’s first port on the forum is about how the game in unrewarding. I’m going to guess you where not here when the game launched, so you probably missed a lot of things, so I’ll just sum things up for you.
legendary weapons originally where just a weapon with fixed stats, they where no better than exotic weapons at the launch of the game. Over time ANet though that it was kind of bad that if you wanted a set stat, but the look of a legendary weapon that you had to transmute it. So they added the stat swap, and when Ascended weapons came out, they got there power bumped to be in like with the top end of gear.
Now as for ascended weapons and armor, they are only meant to be used in fractals, and I believe raids are now made with the Idea you are going in with full ascended level gear. So there is a good chunk of the game where you do not need them, so if you do not intend to play high end fractals or raids, then why waste time and gold on something that is pointless to what you play?
And also Ascended gear is so easy to get now, I’ve only ever made my self one set of ascended armor, and about 3 weapons, the rest have come as drops from PvP, I’ve something like 14 weapons, 3 full sets of armor, and I’m half way through collecting a set of medium and another heavy set. I’m not crafting any of these, I really don’t see the point when it’s so easy to get them from drops. and the power boots is not really needed. it was just a hook to get people to start to craft them back when mat prices where in the toilet, the only thing that had any value was the items used to exotic items, everything else was vender trash.

No the traps are fine, and I don’t even play trap guard anymore. I love fighting trap guards because 99% of them run the same build and you can eat them if you think about what you are doing.

Just because you fave a team of 2 duo players, by no means will this mean they are any good, or that you will lose. I’ve been on teams where I’ve faced the double duo and won, also been on the all solo team and lost, and been on the double duo team and lost.
But yes, it should not be a thing.

Im starting to think i should keep some of the similar items i randomly find in the world and when something like this happends i just put my item for sale at 1 copper less and see what happends ..
The spineguard is only that price because no one really dose dungeons anymore. It will never sell for that price. Seeing as it dose nothing other than give you stats, that can be gotten from temples for karma. So yeah never going to sell for that price.

I’d prefer that WvW content be kept to WvW. We have enough issues with balance and whatnot as it is without mixing it into PvE. Again.
I don’t see any harm in it, would be cool to see "the (guild name here) has defended Nebo Terrace.)
But as I said in an earlier post, given mega servers, your guild could lose “there map” if the map emptied out. We all know it happens. Also you could go off and do something else and not be able to get back on to “your map” and lose your out post. It’s a cool idea, but I feel it will be a nightmare to implement.

I would like to see more, bit seeing as ANet said it takes along time to make armor, and we would have to make 6 sets per race, that’s a lot of work, amd a lot of armor. As I said I would like to see more, but it’s not going to happen.

Two systems im glad are not ingame.
No housing. While it looks nice, it adds nothing in an MMO. Guild halls are much more important. As for fishing, what does it add? Do you have a food supply shortage. If not, it adds nothing to the game. If you want it for relaxation between heavy contends, you might want to close gw2 and instead try games like minecraft or fishing simulator, where relaxation is thr purposethats your personal opinion. Housing and fishing adds a lot for players who enjoy worlds that allow good immersion and have historically been enjoyed by many in great titles. See Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, ESO, Wildstar, LOTR, Rift, Archeage, BDO, WOW amongst others. Not everything needs to have an Adrenalin hit/reward to be fun. Older players get this more than younger players perhaps.
Oh look, all these games have it, this game must have it too!
This is not an argument to have it added. If you want things like this added to the game you have to show how ANet could make money out of it. Or how it would bring in new players, so far everyone wanting added to this game are just “it would be cool”. Something being “cool”, is no reason to add it, the same as not liking something is not a good enough reason not to add something.
As I have said, these would add nothing to the game in the long run, and would be a system that would have to have a purpose to them out side of “I just want to fish and make my house look nice” ANet wants people to be active on maps, not all crowed around a lake/river not doing events, or making a “living world” where people help each other.

I remember when you could get a seahorse mount in wow by fishing. Everyone was doing it. You would see people all standing at the shore fishing, it was world of fishing craft.

So what’s the point in fishing? It would just be a way to her cooking mats, kind of pointless. If you want just stand by a lake and use your imagination.
Personal housing, could be cool, but again, we have “home instances” where we have our stuff. The only race that would need/want a house would be a human. The other races don’t seem to have houses,(I know norn have homesteads but they are more for farms etc than just a house) so I don’t really see the benefit to the game as a whole for these things.
Using the argument that other games have it so this one must, is not a valid point. Other games have constant gear progression, we don’t have or need it here.
We have systems in this game that need reworking more than having something new added.

A tutorial is needed, badly. I fond half the time people rage in matches are because there are people on there team who don’t have a basic understanding of:
How maps work.
How to call a target.
How to focus a target.
Fighting off point.
Changing people around the map.
Some on my points are not ANets fault, and there are a lot of bad players being dragged up the divisions by alt accounts, that then kitten over other players when they get these players who are cleary out od there depth and you end up losing a match because people are where they should not be. This add frustration to everyone involved.
The people who are food enough fall backwards, the bad people believe they are better than they really are.
But then the forums respond from the self proclaimed “pros” is the over used “get good”, “carry more” any many more snappy quotes that mean nothing, but hay what do we know right? It’s not like we play the game too, It’s nit like our feed back is any less valid.
But then by ANets own admission, they look at peoples MMR when looking at feed back to see how much they play PvP. So unless you are the chosen few, you’ll get no response from them. But hay E sports right? What a joke.

I love skyhammer, I squeel when it is the map to fight on. I’m so sick of the same maps that are foefire and forest. It’s like playing unranked when a map other than col is picked. It’s like having a party. Personally I’d like more maps in ranked, and take out foefire and forest. Just to shake it up a bit.

Yeah it’s all I’m doing now. I’ve completely given up on ranked being “competitive”. Unranked is far better at the moment for competitive matches.

Not really, cc’s/blocks kill warriors. Someone skilled with a warrior is always gonna be tough, but then that’s goes for anyone.
You can CC and block a warrior all you want – they’re still gonna regen 1000 hp/s.
Looks like this is turning in to a “need to improve at PvP” thread. Yes warriors are tough, but every other week it’s guards are too tough. If you are better at your class than the other person playing the warrior you win. It is that simple.

I’m not saying the warrior isnt strong, but what exactly changed from the last 2-3 seasons on warrior that made them this way? Warrior was 100% untouched from last season even and I dont think I saw a single warrior complaint thread before a week or so ago. I do play a warrior in pvp so maybe I am biased, but I would like to know what everyone else discovered this season that I have been missing? Is it the changes/ shaving down of other professions that made warriors stand out more?? I dont think it’s the amulets or runes they added. What is it?
The other meta classes all took decent hits from the nerf bat… Warriors got a buff in that they didn’t get brought down. The bunker meta is more or less gone, so wars shine in offense as well as the offensive classes, and in defense as well as the bunkers do now. They have too much sustain for the damage that they put out.

I agree. Just reset personal story. Once reset, they give no rewards at all, problem solved. But the ps rewards are so bad anyway, who would pay for a race change just to get a couple of gold and 3 keys?

The soft reset already f’d over my games by putting way less experienced players into my matches, a hard reset would only f this over even more.
I’ve quit the game 2 days ago from the horrible “match making is working perfect” crap, it’s not. If anything I would petition for a revert of our MMR, complete scrubs in the games I played because of soft reset.
I could see way more experienced players than myself in bronze and way less experienced in platinum, what the kitten happened to the matchmaking, I dunno but apparently it’s working perfect and there has been no communication from Anet to say what they think about it, if they would atleast admit something is wrong and they are looking into it, then maybe I would keep logging in but when a captain has abandoned ship so must the crew.
..and we have no reason to believe they won’t do the same soft reset every season.

AFkers are what kill most of my matches, legit losses are a lot more sparce for me. I’m not the best and I’ll not claim to be. but a hard reset will mean that you wont be getting new players in the middle of silver bottom gold that just drag your team down if the other team get the not as bad new guys.

You should have dodged the spear, to every skill that is in the same like as spear, should work the same as spear, you should not get a second chance to get out of an attack you already failed to dodge.

I have to say the quality of games are very dependant of what time of day you play. currently with the kids of school, matches are not good at all. I went from never seen an afker, to getting 1 every 2-3 matches. sure some matches are a loss dew to mistakes made, or even the other team just being out right better than my team. I really don’t mid it when I lose because the other team it just better. But when I see people just afking and talking trash. It just kittenes me off. especially when I’m doing my part and doing it well, and my team mates do stupid things, like a necro taking a good 20-30 secnds fighting a beast, only to have the kill stolen, or a thief not knowing that trying to join in in a mid fight when the other team has 2 DH’s is just feeding them points. having zero map awareness, like a team member running past a point being de-capped, so I have to run back past them to go fight and retake the point.
These are simple mistakes that will cost you a match. the fact people are making these mistakes in T3 silver is not funny. I’ve been close to braking into gold for days now, but every time I climb to the top of T3 silver, I end up back at the top of T2 silver, because of bad players and afkers. Now I’m not saying I’m not a T3 silver player, I very well might be. but when I lose games because of people who have no real clue about how to play PvP and people going AFK and just raging I’ll never know where I truly belong.
I place the blame firmly at ANets feet. they need a true tutorial for PvP so people know what they should be doing. Sadly there is no cure for the AFKers, now if there was a way that if you got so many legit AFK reports you got band from ranked for the rest of the season, and then subsequent season for repeat offending that would be great.

A lot of pvp woes would be greatly reduced if there were more consistent balancing.
There is no such thing balance in an MMO. You can get close. But there will always be that one class that is better.
That’s why you need to have constant balancing/tweaking to keep the game/meta changing. Otherwise the game becomes stagnant.
Not really seen a change in the game since they made warriors viable again. All in all I find the game quite balanced. Sure if the other player has more personal skill than you, they will win, if not you will win every time, unless they are using a cheese build and your half dead from a fight you’ve just won. Alone this D/D thief thought he was in a match earlier. Untill he got stunned and wasted in seconds proving that with out the cheese of spamming evade skills he was an unskilled player, relying on cheese to get him anyway.
It’s players like that who then get there butts kicked by players who have a clue that come crying to the forums more often than not. About things being OP or skills needing to be changed because they are unwilling to change the way they play and want ANet to change everything else.
