Red team, normally blue team is the team with the players that are trying a build out/new/first time playing a match outside of hot join’s, in unranked at lest.

DH’s have bad mobility. they are very slow, and need a Rev or something to put swiftness on them to get around or a team with out 3 DH’s can just out rotate the team stacked with DH’s. people need to remember this game is a take and Hold game. if a team is too slow to react to the rotation of points, then it’s game over.

Having 3-4 guards camping middle and the other team just running in to die, has nothing to do with a DH being OP, it has to do with the players understanding of how PvP works. people seem to think that you haver to have the middle point to win a game. I’ve won plenty where middle was never held, we just rotated middle and far the other team spent most of there time trying to retake there home. instead of sending someone off to de-cap far then move to middle they just pilled in to middle or there home. also people not looking at the mini map to see where they are needed.

There are two things that make a PvP game hard, skill(someone is always going to be better than you, we all have to face it.) and the lack on knowledge/understanding of how the game modes/classes work.

This thread is ridiculous. A.net is a business. They need to make money. A.net does not have any obligation — moral, legal, or otherwise — to give free trial players an equal playing field. Armed bodyguards harass, beat up and intimidate the other club goers who didn’t pay and they don’t like. The club owners, of course, either look the other way or struggle to keep control of the establishment. I say look the other way because this is self-perpetuating since this gets the public to pay to get SOME enjoyment and protection.

According to you, the club has no obligation what-so-ever to the people who are beat up, bloody and bruised.

An even playing field is the LEAST they can do. That OR separate f2p players and b2p players.

ANet is not obligated to serve anyone. Go read the ToS. We don’t even own the game, we have paid to access the game, and they can take away that access at any time for any reason. It is the norm for any online game. The same as in the ToS it says that if ANet wanted to they could add a subscription to play the game. It was in the ToS of GW1 too. So really ANet can do what they want, as long as it is with in the ToS that we the players have agreed to by playing the game. The only thing ANet has to do, it what ever they feel will make the they most money, for the lest amount of expenditure, as it is with every business in the world.

It would be nice, for me atleast to be a member of a PvP guild on my dedicated character, PvE character and so on. Right now you end up being kicked out for not representing on all your characters.

Dont get me wrong, I understand and do not argue 100% rep. But I’d wish I could be in a guild per character.

When looking for a guild, don’t join guilds that require 100% rep?

It seems like every season’s matchmaking is the worst according to this forum. It’s like watching an argument over which ff game is the best/worst.

People only co.plain about match making she. They are losing alot when it comes to the league.

They could not have possibly found there level, they are gods and everyone else is a scrub. He’ll, most seasons I get stuck really quickly, I burn through a division like I’m a PvP god, only then to spend weeks at a time in the next division. Spending 2-3 days in a T at a time. Or I go the other way and climb T’s like a boss, then stall for a few days. It’s how the leagues are set up. To keep people playing in them for as long as possible. I was glad I got to ruby with in 3 weeks this season, to I could baile out of it quick as I had finished the wing achievements, and could be on my merry way, and playing PvP for fun again, and stress free.

I understand that making a legendary piece of gear should be this event that you commit to and put some real man hours in and all of that… I agree with that. But to make people play WvW and PvP in order to make one is absolute garbage. I HATE WvW and your PvP system has a lot not going for it. If you don’t want to play either you can drop a buttload of gold down for the missing items which in turn pretty much means you punish players that don’t want to partake in every aspect of your game. I think you should really figure out a better way for players to make legendary gear without forcing them to play the parts of the game they don’t enjoy.

So your talking about the Gift of Battle right? as the PvP tokens and WvW tokens can be bought from the trade post. Be grateful you didn’t have to do WvW map completion like I did. having that one keep you needed, but not enough people to take it. took me months to get half of it, as I use to be on a low population server, so I moved and finished it with in a week. I’m not a massive fan of all game modes but I enjoy them all from time to time.

Legendary’s are not very legendary if you just have to farm gold to buy it. But maybe that’s just me.

As other have said, LW1 was open world for the most part. While it would be great for people who didn’t get to play LW1 for what ever reason, the work alone would be a big task for ANet to bring it to the live servers. as it would need to make sure it wouldn’t brake anything that is live now. Maybe one day ANet will bring it back in some form. But I do not think we will ever see the open world can tent brought back like it was.

As for the achievements, that’s a big ask for ANet when there is no real reason for them to do it. I mean they are there for the most part for people to do if they want to. the only achievements that ANet kind of made mandatory are the ones with Mastery points attached to there completion, which I feel was a bad idea.

I’d love to see this come back, they could even add them as drops from the end of dungeons as they did in Eye of the North.(give people a reason to run them) I’d also like to see the Norn fighting tournament return too, I know if you play a Norn you can take part in one. But id like to see one return to the game as it was in GW1.

It feels like human pc has just too many gods lines everywhere they lately go.
The living story itself is made to fit all the races. Which is more than fine, its even better since when you leave the story itself and go around the world you get different one liners from each race and gender which gives a bit of individuality to the character (for example char “i cant wait to tell my warband about this place” etc)
It was okay with humans too, they had some random god lines, but lately..

The thing is that in the ls3 and current events humans seem to have eighter exclusively or one god line for each reaction.
“By the gods!” (Executioner), “gods! What is that?” (Upon seeing the sloth), “may grenth give them peace” (ls3p1 in BF) and so on and so on.

While asura or charr react amusingly to some things, humans sound quite blank and plain always just talking about them.

Yes they are a race which is bound and led by the six gods, but it would be nice to get areas where they wont say such things and go with “you must be joking..” Or any other line except for “god gods..” and so on.

While I see hour point, during points in history, people where very God fearing. And you forget, that the God of Tyria are very real to the humans as they lived among them a few hundred years ago, and still believe they will return. Don’t forget that the gods also opens portals to the Mist’s in LA after Zhitan awoke. Just over 250 years ago, Humans could travel to the UW, FoW and DoA. I mean in Queensdale we fight monsters coming through portals from the UW at the ruins of The Temple of the Ages.

Perhaps, the Devs will find your arguments compelling; perhaps not. It’s really not that big of a deal. I imagine it will soon (er or later) be completed by most, and then forgotten. Kind of a tempest in a teapot sort of thing. /shrug

Seeing as the mastery points where supposed to be the “new level” system as apposed to a new level cap, they should be very easy to get. Would people feel it is ok to level there toon, but can get to the next level until they do X,Y and Z. I’m on the last level of all but the raid mastery’s. I can sadly say I’ll never have those last levels as I do not want to reply mission after mission getting everything so I can fill them out, and don’t even start me on the core ones. I’m never going to be able to make HoT legendries.

Mastery’s should be just level or get the points, not both. Forcing people to do content they do not want to do to get the “new progression for your character” is bad design. I don’t like adventures, not one bit. But I’ve had to do them. I know as some point I’ll not be able to progress with the new line as my surplus of points will run out, unless ANet keeps adding way more than I need.

Some will see this as just “my problem” and that mastery’s are not needed to play the game, that is all true. But if the new maps are anything to go by, if you don’t have them, getting around is going to be alot harder.

I can’t really follow the thread because it branched off into to many side-topics, but from what I have caught is that some people complain about the Gem Store – or any sort of payment. Which is ridiculous. It’s like not willing to pay electricity bills after signing the contract and being happy that you can switch on the lights and your toaster.

I would (and actually do) pay for this game via Gems and I do it because I know how real-life and businesses work. And I assume 80% of the playerbase does as well. This whining about any cost for such a high quality title like GuildWars2 is usually coming from either unemployed people or kids without legal ways of paying.

Indeed, because you.know, this game needs saving because it’s so empty.

Halloween in the GW games has always been the best for me. It’s the one festival I never miss, and no achievement goes undone.

Well the achievement is completely optional. You don’t need it to complete the meta.

You can do the meta with out doing that one, only need 23 out of the 26, but it is a valid complaint. Spending 2 hours doing one thing that gives you nothing but a title is a little in my book.

I have no intention of do any thing in any game that is that.mind numbing.

I hope ANet sees this as feed back, not a well they don’t have to do it.

This a, make up your own mind kind of thing. Even though if LW2 they say that going in to the device drove her mad. She talked to her self alot too, I believe she was in conflict with mordramoth. She was the first to hear “the call”. That’s why she said she knew Caiths secret, and that tyria would need her. She probably thought she was going to stop mordramoth, but was probably under his sway more that she realised.

That’s how I see it from playing LW1/2.

OP, guild wars 2 is a buy to play game, with QoL and optional extra’s in the gem store. There is nothing in the gem store that you need to play. There are things that make life alot easier, but nothing there is a must have. Just because there are skins in the store, is by no means a must buy item. The gem store is there to help ANet make a little extra on the side if players want to buy thing from there.

I’ve bought thing from there in the past, I’ve spent a lot more in the first 2 years than I did in the last 2 and a bit years. But that just because I have most of what I want, and there is very little on there these days that I feel “I must have!” But I know quite a few people who play that have to have everything. As soon as an outfit or skin hits the gem store, they have it.

ANet makes more money from gem sales every month than they do box sales. I remember someone saying once a few months back that ANet makes millions from ben sales every year, and people go crazy over the holidays, I remember last year one forum member posted there stack of gem cards they had ready to spend in the gem store over the holidays, and it was in the $100’s of.

This again? Go to WvW, I dont want to be going about my day with someone whispering, “fight me noob” or something else while I’m doing my dailies and what not, also this would open up maps to people just being ganked and PvP maps turning into GvG war zones.

So again, a d as ANet have said on this subject, you want open world combat there’s WvW for that, want to duel? There are plenty of empty PvP arenas for that.

Open world PvP in PvE maps go’s against what PvE is about.

So No. Don’t want and hope it never happens.

As for your thought on what happens and it being a bug, if it was why would you be invincibly, it was part of the story. So not a bug

I dont have this “issue”. I’ll list the reasons below.

1). I play mostly Soldier classes. (I have 4 warriors from 3 different races) and these make up for the most of my alts, I have 5. With one of each of the other professions bar mesmer, not really a fan, but will probably buy a slot at some point to make one just so I have one of each class, and at least this mesmer will make it to 80 thanks to tombs, unlike my mesmer in GW1 who to this day is still sitting in Yaks bend.

2). I play all different game modes with my main/alts, so gearing them is easy. I’ve played enough PvP to gear them with full exotic as soon as they ding 80, and have had enough ascended drops that I have 2 ascended heavy armor sets(1i crafted), and I’m 2 drops away from a full light set, if I dont craft the rest. Same for weapons, I only ever crafted a sword shield and a great sword, out of the 12 ascended weapons I have. Not including the collection ascended and the 2 legendary weapons I have.

3) The only real individual progress with this game is the story, and world completion, that is is. So I don’t see how I’m wasting time playing alts over my main.

There is open world PvP, It’s called WvW.

Yeah, now you said it I can totally see it.

That last mission was epic. The fight, nomygod, I’m think that’s it, I’m dead. Looks like I’m restarting this fight, then boom Lazarus turns up. And I felt like a boss kicking Destroyer butt. The fight felt truly heroic. After it was all finished I felt like I had been a hero. I had made a difference. And was left with the feeling of “that’s how you do a story boss fight”.

I personally feel ANet out did them self’s with this. I really can’t wait to see where the story goes. I’m also wondering if Ogden will meet the “stone face”. That will be an interesting meeting to watch. It also left me with images of tunnel’s full of broken dwarfs complaining about only being heads.

I loved the new map, it gave me the same feeling as it did in GW1, for me it was pure eye candy. I’ve not finished looking around yet, but I love it.

The store was well done, very well done. The last mission, nomygod. I have never enjoyed a mission so much. It hit the sweet spot for me in terms of difficulty. I really felt like I was in a fight for my life.

The only thing I would change is how you access the last mission, if the events on, you have to wait till it’s over before you can carry on. I personally don’t have a problem with it, but for people with limited play time I can see this being frustrating, especially as how awesome that last mission is.

Great work everyone. Probably the best LW I have ever played, and I’ve played them all.

I think they are great. But can’t keep everyone happy, and it’s not like the vendors have must have items, and take a full days play to unlock. They also provide things to do while waiting for events to spawn.

I wish all hearts where like this. Some of them are quite fun to do.

Rule one of Guild Wars 2, do achievements as quick as possible, you never know when they will be taken away. Glad I got on the Capricorn achievements quickly.

How did anyone in QA ever allow conditions or dots to ruin this game as it has? It’s unbelievable to me how stupidly overpowered conditions are. This is even after removing 150 conditions time and time again and still getting kill by them.

I mean, how does something like this happen to an otherwise great game?

It’s called being the focus of 5 players, No matter how good you are, when you have 5 players hitting you, you’re ganna die.
