Bloodstone fen, I really like the map. I’ve still got to map all of it, but I do like it, it’s right in the sweet spot for difficulty for the way I play.

The story a little short IMPO, I really enjoyed it, I was just disappointed when it was over so quickly. It was very well done.

PvP map, I’ve only played 1 game, so this is just a first impression of it. Not a fan, its like a rats nest, and the team with the most mobility wins. And were where the ghosts? I though there was supposed to be a 3rd faction where the teams would have to fight together to beat, I was looking forward to see how that would work, also the bell gives out way to many points, the game is won way too quickly before a come back can be made.

Just my personal opinions on it all, nothing based in fact.

Nope, it was included in the sales pitch, that we would need HoT for LW3, so for me it’s included in the price and why HoT is a DLC season pass, and not a true xpac in my personal view. I too was disappointed in what we got story wise, and I must stress story wise. I was hoping for a longer story in this release. The map is nice, I’ve not don’t all of it yet and have some exploring to do. Only played one game on the new PvP map, have to say, my first impression is that I’m not a fan, not saying it will not grow on me, but I find it a bit messy. I don’t really play fractal’s so I can’t comment on the changes there.

Why is a guild hall and a raid on the world map, though? Even dungeons were their own instanced thing, so they don’t actually visibly show up on the map. Since I don’t do raids, I guess that spot will be forever blank for me?

If you want to explore the raid maps, you could find someone who has cleared the raid for the week and open the map for you, you can then run around, interact with NPCs and other stuff that can be found on the map; bosses and events will all be done, though.

As pleased as I am with the patch, everyone did great work, I was disappointed with the length of the story. Now having to wait 2-3 months for the next bit is very disappointing, seeing as it didn’t feel that different to the biweekly cadence in terms of story quality. I was expecting 2-3 chapters per LW3 release. Guess ANet is dragging it out so we are not waiting a year after it finishes for the next xpac.

This update was meant to be a large quality of life update with quality over quantity in content which it indeed delivered on i think we all can agree here.

Perhaps now with a few bug fixes & features added in they can start building on a more solid foundation.

No we can’t all agree, the reason they are spacing the stork out so much is that way there wont be a big gap between the end of LS3 and the next xpac. That is the only reason, I personally did not notice the story being of any higher quality than anything we have had before.

I did enjoy it, but now we have what a 2-3 month wait till then next one, then nothing till the new year as well have Halloween and Christmas. Also we’ll have another PvP season. The content tube is always going to be empty now. ANet will never be able to fill it again, and they know it. That said I really want them to prove me wrong, but I’m really underwhelmed by the patch I really am, as far as story goes anyway.

Despite having all GW1 chapters, I kept myself out of the War in Kryta, because unlike with following the Flameseeker Prophecy, it is bloodshed for regime change, rather than saving victims from it. virus has a point, in that the faction of the Krytan Monarchy was not above saccrificing civilians, albeit in a passive way. That they also espouse colorism and aspire the colonisation of Elona after having reduced Ebonhawke to a vassal county, makes Divinity’s Reich villains in my book too. Let’s not forget that they also besieged Lion’s Arch in an attempt to forcefully reannex it, only to be dissuaded by Zhaitan’s rise within the Bay of Sirens.

I have the infinite coin and can’t make use of it for most of the year and it’s a real shame because I love the SAB content.

ANet said they can not leave SAB open all year round as when the patch the game it brakes. They said it’s easier for them to fix it once a year than everytime they update the game, also it is now a festival.

It would be great to see statistics in PVE, similar to what we see in PVP after a game, but for every party/squad member.

I’m up for it. Having this kind of a benchmark makes we want to test my skills and improve.

Our guild does raids on a regular basis, and sometimes we’re baffled on how does a boss fail so miserably, but succeeds gloriously other times. With no way of telling each member’s performance and what to suggest to improve it.

Maybe add a tag to party/squad saying “Tracking Statistics”, which is clearly visible in the LFG. You can toggle the tag only at party creation, not afterwards. If you want to toggle the tag afterwards, you must disband the whole party first, toggle that tag and then post lfg once again.

This way you voluntary join parties that track statistics. If you don’t like being tracked you don’t join these kind of parties.

No, do you not get what PvE is? ANet wants PvE to be a friendly place where people help each other on the fly, not make it a “I’m not helping you scrub! You can’t even DPS!”

Maybe good in WvW, or guild missions but it really has no place in any game. There is really no real reason for it. The stats we get in PvP are for the purpose of knowing how effective your build is.

I really hope there will never be a DPS meter. I find it kinda sad that you need this tool to make a game interesting. It’s probably a hangover from WoW, I too use to play WoW, and stopped after Cat, it just got board of it. Way too much grinding. And I always hatted the DPS meters and the hostility it would bring to the person with the lowers DPS, even if it was only a few points out from the rest of the group. Like the time someone raged at me for not doing enough DPS when I was the tank!

There are alot of things to do in GW2, you seem to have done alot in a very small amount of time. Would not surprise me if you burn out.

No. Some WvW players have been gloating since the GoB vendor was removed because “getting a legendary should require you to play all game modes, not just the one you prefer”. This is in direct opposition to that idea. Why should PvE players be forced to play WvW to get their GoB and yet somehow it would be ok to not force PvP and WvW players to play PvE to get their gift of exploration? Hell no.

Way not just put everything in a reward track so we can play what ever we want and get what ever we want how we want. Then watch people complain that maps are empty, or no one is playing X game mode anymore because of reward tracks. The entire reason for it to need 100% world completion is that it keeps people in every map.

Take it away and we’ll have the same problem we had before mega servers, people only playing on maps that are the most rewarding, and being on empty maps devoid of players, before the mega servers I could spend hours doing a maps and not see anyone, out side of places that had a story step starting point. Not really, DH or not that hard to beat on there own, have 2-3 DH on a team, and it get a little harder, but that’s only if you team are dumb and stand in the traps, there are a few skills that let you set off the traps but take no damage from them, that then means the DH’s are at a big disadvantage.

I personally don’t think we need a heads up, people will complain no matter what, and ANet could always change there mind about something. Then you get the “you lied to us ANet” posts.

It was impossible from a budget standpoint. Having to write 5 letters per dungeon meant we’d have to write 40 letters total instead of 8. From a logistical standpoint it would have driven up costs for localization and editing. These mails were generated very late in the development process. Multiplying them would have resulted in the wordcount ballooning by 5 times.

Maybe you’d make better use of your scarce writing resources than to have them write raid ‘lore’ which only a small minority of players will ever experience and even fewer will ever bother reading on their charge through the instance to get to the phat lewt most of them are there for.

People did have a problem with raids, what people had a problem with was that there where things cancelled like the legendary weapons that anyone can make/do the collections, where ANet “wasted” development time/money on raids that where meant for, by ANets own admission, a small amount of the player base. Those have been the main complains I’ve seen on the forum and in game, people complaining about difficulty is a nonissue, yes sometimes getting 10 players that are capable of playing a raid can be harder than the raid it’s self.

I have no problem with raids, the only thing I really want to do is have a good nose round the maps. I personally would like ANet to have a mode that just lets you look around as if the raid is completed. There could be a few mobs around but no bosses, and no ability to get the achievements. That would be cool.

Nothing has been said about more raids after the 3 wings. Odds are good that there will be another after LW3 finishes, with that said my money is on the next one coming with the next xpac.

it never said the White Mantle did it..it says “You”…maybe it’s the bosses and enemies you killed getting there..when you and the pact invaded. remember if it is a bloodstone it would have an environmental effect that influences activation time of resurrection skills or triggers an effect when someone is killed. Gorseval’s Perch looks like it is wood and dirt on my screen.

The only people in the raid are White mantle, there are even notes through out the raid saying that the White Mantle have been killing all the people. If your are going to argue points, at least stop ignoring the facts that are in game.

He rose from his position as a Justiciar after the death of Confessor Dorian…if the “hero of gws 1” never killed dorian and sided with the Shining blade..after the Shining blade was murdering While mantle guards like the bandits in gws 2 that was protecting the people from other threats..there would have been no peacekeepers or war in kryta. salma wanted to take power from the white mantle after the white mantle saved Kryta did all the work of stopping the invading forces and peace was returning..and far as mass murder, the queen in gws 2, seraph, shining blade, and lionguard doesn’t murder people in general..they let the centaurs and krait do their dirty work.. hence a cave so filled with bones of people you walk on it like a floor..and can break the veil of the underworld there.. in the sylvari area there is a lionguard fort next to a krait slave storage..and dead bodies in the water..great protection.. so they don’t kill people they just don’t stop it..which is no better then just killing the people, themselves..since they are the people who are “guarding” and "protecting " the people.

No, the Murssat where using the mantle to murder the chosen to power the soul batteries to keep the Titans locked away. The Titans being released would spell there down fall, and it was not the titans that killed them but the Hero’s of GW1, who where tricked by Kilbran in to releasing them.

The Mursat where using the mantle to protect them self’s, and rewarding high level members of the mantle with power. They knew if they had the scepter of Orr they could control the undead, and use them for there own ends. Kilbran wanted the scepter so he had his own army.

Then later in the Krytan Civil war, the Mantle use mercenary’s to keep the people “inline”, they even attacked the Temple of the Ages, because they didn’t worsip the Murssat.

The Mantle or not good nor did they protect anyone. They wanted power and they wanted to protect that power by any means necessary.

During the final days of the war, the mantle and Murssat killed all the villagers they could from Bettleton, Nebo Terrace and the Ascalon Settlement on there way to Lions Arch. The Hero’s of GW1 had to protect the Villagers all the way to LA.

That’s how “good” the White mantle are. They are straight up mass murders.

Hi all. Im close to crafting my first legendary weapon. Now I knew there’d be a lot of rare material gathering but I didn’t expect each legendary to require 77 mystic clovers. Now I’ve got… 20 of them, so far. I’m interested in learning how people farm enough of them? Do you just wait for the monthly reward, do you do WvW/ PvP for them or do you take your chances in the mystic forge? If anyone is willing to share some tips, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks.

My first legendary I did the forge, as I needed T6 mats also, my second legendary I didn’t plan on making at all, I’ve been playing, I play PvP and just do reward tracks, alot of them give clovers. When I made the moot yesterday, I had 90 in my bank, I only decided to make it about 2-3 weeks ago. I found out I had 90% of the mats needed, I just had to buy 500g worth of T6 mats and ecto, the icy runic stones and I was done. I just hope the mace dose not become a junk weapon after the 26th.

The Mantle was sacrifing tens of Thousands of People for quite a while and they were sacrificing People back in GW1. While Saul did save Kryta, he got killed by the Mursaat after seeing that they are no Gods. If Saul would still live he would even aid the Shining Blade to destroy the Mantle.

i play gws 1 everyday and in gws 2 remember what happens when magical energies reach a high lvl..dragons wake up…the Mursaat seem to know this..they built a fort and a shield over a whole area to keep it contained..then the hero’s in gws 1 bust in and release the titans and a ton of energy.. and if you paid attention in eye of the north. the destroyers started waking up..and in gws 1 proph the undead of Orr increased in numbers after that..since the undead of orr are made by Zhaitan..we find out in gws 2..that means that release of energy started waking them up..like scarlet in la with ley-line energy.

First. The Mursaat kitten Bricks because of the Titans ( who by some Prophecy would kill them ) So they used Soul Batteries to keep them out. Soul Batteries powered by tormented Souls to keep Construct made out of Tormented Souls out, seems to be a good Idea. The Destroyers waking up has nothing to do with Titans, Mursaat etc. Its just a Cycle that repeats itself, nothing more.

And the Undead of Orr aren’t made by Zhaitan, they are there because of Khilbron, his Spell and his use of the Scepter. The Undead of Orr are just that. Undead. The Risen we are fighting in GW2 are different. They look like Undead, most of them are created by using Corpes but in Realtiy they are Beings corrupted by Dragon Magic.

The Mantle was sacrifing tens of Thousands of People for quite a while and they were sacrificing People back in GW1. While Saul did save Kryta, he got killed by the Mursaat after seeing that they are no Gods. If Saul would still live he would even aid the Shining Blade to destroy the Mantle.

and yes they was killing people of prophecy..the Prophecy that said the Mursaat would be destroyed and tyria would be destroyed, if it ever came to pass…and as you see that prophecy happened in gws 1 and the dragons started waking up..and destroying tyria. the Mursaat lived thru the dragons first awakening by hiding in the mist..so they knew how it starts. So they played the role of gods to get a more primitive race to help them protect the world in whole. and some had to die so that all could be saved from the destruction of the world.

Upgrades never go on sale, as far as I can remember, as they are able to be purchased at no cost via Gems.

They do, but not often, the core game upgrade was on sale last year for the game anniversary. So HoT’s upgrade might do that at some point too.

Main reason is because there is almost no decent pants for heavy male human.

You think they look bad, I think they are probably some of the best looking sets, each to there own.

I never understood why it wasn’t on the vendor list. I think it might have been tied to a story step achievement. And with them looking at brining back season one at some point some how, maybe they are leaving them for that reason. But I don’t see the problem with being able to get them another way, like maybe a rare drop from toxic alliance mobs at the events maybe.
