OP you have not thought this through have you. Removing the wings would drop the number of people playing PvP. Forcing teams will also drop the numbers of players, not everyone has the time to commit to a team. This then would have a knock on effect on the queue times.
Your ideas would make the PvP experience worse. For everyone.

The end of October is more than 4 months away. The current gap is still lower than that between LS2 and HoT. Also, there was a lot more to do put in with HoT than with the final LS2 episode.
Shatterer, making HoT more accessible and revamping how rewards work there, putting gliding into core, the ley-line stuff and bandit bounties are not “nothing new” to PvE.
Compare ANet release cadence with other MMO companies. How often does Blizzard add new open-world PvE outside of XPacs? The other two B2P MMO’s don’t offer new content with no cost at all.
The fact of the matter is that player missing and poaning about “lack of content” is as much of an MMO staple as the content itself. It may be hard to have sense of perspective about the gaps in any MMO. However, look around at the genre.
The one criticism I would have about ANet’s release cadence is that they have spent an awful lot of time and dev effort to revamp systems over and over. Hopefully, we’re nearing an end to months spent doing nothing but reinventing the game. Time will tell.
So you think its fine that we have had nothing new save a boss being redone, which wasn’t needed really, and a hand full of events that take more time to wait for them to pop than to do.
ANet made the mess, and I’m not going to let them off. If they spent less time reinventing there own game, and focused on keeping there player base happy, I’m sure everyone would be more happy.

It’s quite simple why they will be doing a 2-3 month release schedule. PvP leagues. Anyone who has played in them knows all to well how the queue times get really bad the higher up you climb in the league. So ANet will not want a distraction from the league. After all they want ESports.

I agree with Waffle it takes time to create content and people should take a break or play other games, if you haven’t got anything else to do in game. I rather wait for quality this time around rather then having a rush job that was LS2 and HoT. So no I don’t think they forgotten about the casual player, just taking their time so they don’t make a mess like last time, hopefully.
But ANet dose not want you to take a brake. If you do you wont spend money in the gem store. I do enjoy people telling people to go play something else, if everyone did that GW2 would be quite empty. The lack of content is hurting everyone. But it’s probably hurting ANets pocket more.

ANet don’t care, they just want all game modes to be populated. You only have to look at the PvP forum to see how unhappy people are with the PvP league. Everything ANet are doing is damage control. They have spent too much time on raids, when other parts of the game are begging for things to do. Non raiding PvE players have had nothing new since HoT dropped. So ANet are trying to get them into other game modes to keep them occupied by making things harder to get by putting them behind a grind wall. It’s all just busy work.

The current PvP season will end on July 12. This date seems to be a hot candidate for the next quarterly update. If we are lucky LW3 will start at the same time.
I agree with this. It is a safe bet that it will be some time after PvP season ends. Not that there is much of a PvP season left.

lol I didn’t think ANet banned players for going afk in a match that ANet has set up to lose. It’s like saying not only are you going to pay us your money for this lose but we are going to force you to waste your time and energy as well or we’ll just ban your account.
If this is true, then bans like these can trigger lawsuits, and ANet could lose more money then they would gain by banning players account who refuse to play a sure to lose match.
PS# I’ve akitten in plenty of matches where team mates yolo’d to far just to insta die over and over again to one enemy player.
I remember having a guardian blame our thief for the loss when the guardian kept feeding mid 1v3. The thief beat the druid 1v1 to cap far, he ganked the scrapper at mid and insta finished him with finishing blow after the invuln proc, recapped home, sides were better so most of the team agreed to stick to that, guardian keeps dying to mid, loss is somehow the thief’s fault.

Try checking LFG. There is usually a full squad of people, or pretty close doing a Hero Point run in one of the HoT maps.
I’ve no idea what region you’re in or what time you play. In NA, when I play, there is rarely an HP run. Sometimes, even in prime time, there is no taxi for meta maps, either.
Do you have a ranged class? Most HC’s can be done solo or duo. Ever one of the first 2 maps can be at any rate. You could always start one your self, tag up and say in map chat you are doing a HC run. Then off you go. I got my Necro max by grabbing all the HC in VB and AB with the rest from the core game.took about 1 and a half hours.

A bit of research would have saved you from " looking the fool", and given your friends a better experience. All the features where heavily discussed when the P4F was launched. ANet invited everyone to try the P4F accounts. Maybe you should have done that too so you knew what your friends would encounter.

Looks like the new wing is a casual friendly fight, it’s been beaten already, the guild I’m in cleared it last night. They posted the end cheat 9 hours ago of me posting this. The guild isn’t even a raiding guild, so that boss must be super easy for it to be cleared so quickly on it’s launch day.

Someone who’s experienced this personally answer this question. Right now, I have 1/4 pvp divisions crossed this season. I’ll likely hit diamond before the season ends making me 2/4. Will that reset at the start of next season? The wording says “in a PvP season,” but someone posts above are saying that this can be spread through multiple seasons.
So will it stay 2/4 divisions crossed when season 4 starts, or will it reset to 0/4? Again, someone who’s personally experienced and seen what happens should answer.
No it dose not reset. If it did but I’d only just have started the last set of achievements yesterday.

I love when people who got carried by their absurdly high MMR post their screenshots. If you have such high MMR you can literally go afk on close whole game and still win most of your games.
I don’t understand why a high MMR makes a difference?
If you have high MMR it tries to put you in team with other people with high MMR. If you have low MMR it tries to put you into teams with other low MMR people. So the end result is low MMR vs high MMR matches because the pvp population is too small to offer high MMR vs high MMR matches
Well mate, sorry to disappoint you but my MMR in this acc its actually low. As a proof of that I can tell you, that 1st off all I was amber from the start of the season and u can check my total w/l ratio on the print below. And Im not “showing off” Im actually just trying to tell you guys, that there is no “stuck in divisions” if u dont progress its just because u need to get better, thats all.
And @Cynz I did played in my main acc at the first days of the season, and got legend in less than a week against ppl with the “high MMR”.
My point is guys, no matter what, leagues are ment to separate different skill levels, so if you are having an hard time getting to legend, its probably cause you need to get better and not the MMR’s, pvp system’s fault.with that said heres the print @Malediktus

And as I remember when devs revealed Daredevil class, their intention with it was to give more sustain to thief in TEAMFIGHTS, yet all we see is thief dying to random aoe spam if he tries to.

…and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had in a MMO. By far.
Look, I’m all in for the ideia of seeking a 50/50 outcomes results, but not in the way it’s been done this season.
Instead of matches where every side have a 50% chance of winning, so in the long run we would’ve approximately a 50% win ratio, you achieved this ratio with blowouts matches. In one match my team would win by far, and in the next, I’d lose by far. And both were boring as hell.
It got to the point where people would know in the first fight which team they were (the winning or losing team) and if it were the losing team, they could just chill and afk for the rest of the match, because the results were setting before the match even started.
Look at my statistics, that would be awesome if most of the games weren’t boring blowouts. Please, fix your matchmaking. 50% win ratio means nothing if it’s achieved like that.
Holy grind fest batman. I’ve played 98 games and I’m 2 pips into ruby, I really hope I don’t need to play another 300 games to get to diamond.

Meh, whatever, kittens always swarm threads of smart people talking about balance claiming their 5>2 nonstop spamming braindead class takes any skill to play (ROFL, such a complex playstyle indeed!). No it’s not a problem of me learning to play, it’s the fact that I see thieves in my/enemy team always being worthless piece of kitten, legend rank ofc.

A good thief can vet in the mix in middle. I’ve been in many a game where a good thief at middle was the only reason they could hold middle. With out the thief jumping in bursting down a member of my team, they lost middle every time. There thief was the exception, not the rule. Most thieves melt in seconds, normally because they don’t have a clue how to play there class. The amount of times I’ve melted a thief in a 1vs1 fight is really funny, but then a good thief can beat me. The problem with thieves is that for every good thief player, there are 10 bad. Coming to the forum and QQing about it makes you a bad player.

If you want team fight potential then you should at least be ready to say goodbye to SB5, unhindered combatant, and revert the auto attack buffs. If thief gets legit bruiser sustain it’ll become essentially like rev in S1 where auto dmg on sword was absolutely broken.
Also, teefs are seen in competitive lineups where the heck have you been the last weeks of ESL S2?
Maybe he’s someone who’s bad at playing thief and wants ANet to make them OP so he can be good?

As others have said, pick a class and master it. Play unranked to get use to it. Once you are winning more fights than you are losing, try ranked again, also learn how to read the map. Proper rotation is key to wins. No point in running to middle if everyone is downed. Don’t go running into a lost fight.

Just curious on the general feedback and opinions on the theme of teasers ArenaNet is doing.
I hadn’t seen much conversation about it. But in my opinion the teasers aren’t that great in any way. Yes they do tease but not in the good way. It seems more so a marketing ploy instead of content showcase.
Any differencing thoughts?
I’ve been underwhelmed by the teasers they have done as of late. If your in to raids I guess it could be hype inducing, but for me they are not, not even a little.

The state of PvP balance doesn’t allow a single player to carry their team. As a result, progress tends to be a direct result of getting multiple good teams/matches in a row.
Taking the concept to its conclusion, it is theoretically possible for two players to have the exact same number of wins and losses, but they could be in vastly different divisions/leagues based solely upon the order in which he got certain matchups.
Players with the same win/loss ratio should be in the same division or close to it
I agree that the pip system is the problem. I’ve posted my suggestion already to have a real league.

i would go for this. But be prepared for more ranting on forum. So in perspective of ANET i wouldn’t do this as they have to keep the majority happy not the minority.
They changed the match making after season 1 because the “pro” players complained. I don’t see how that was keeping everyone happy. As far as PvP is concerned, ANet only wants the “pro” mentality group of players happy. Everyone else can hang. That’s the feeling I get from them as far as PvP is concerned.
if ANet really only cared about “pro” players, we would have a balanced meta and proper ranked system, I can assure you. Thing is, Anet wants everyone to be able to get their wings, and so the system allows it.
Not quite, if the system where to allow anyone to get there wings, there would be no division crossing achievement needed for them. I thought I was going to be done this season with the wings, but nope, I’ll have to play next season and get to ruby if I want my wings.
In all honesty I feel that one achievement causes the most salt.
They do care about there “pro” players, there wouldn’t be a prize fund if they didn’t. The only time they change anything to do with PvP is when the “pros” complain, see season 1. “pro” makes a QQ you tube video about after 8 hours he’s only in emerald. ANet change it to the way it is now. Even though a lot of people think the pip system is a joke.
So? The wings are the problem, like usual, Anet can’t make everyone happy, but this season and previous season, even below average players can get legendary easy.
System mostly insults people who knows hot to play this game, because it’s casual league, build up for people to grind. But nowadays everyone feels cheated if they have to grind for something they wouldn’t get normally, or to improve if they are bad, which leads to whine and whine and whine.
The only thing Anet can do is relocate legendary reward to reward track, which will remove incentive for people to even do ranked. Which will lead to dead pvp.
Funny, but Anet doesn’t care about only one group of players, about people who are doing pvp just for pvp.
You say that, but you will find you can get an unranked pvp match faster than a ranked one.
People like pvp, they enjoy it, most seem to not like the league. When I was playing last night I was waiting between 5-10 minutes for a match at T4 sapphire, where as I could get an unranked match in the sub 2 minutes mark.

Simple fix, remove division crossing achievement. Up the days played, kills and wins with class, wins in a day, points and overall wins achievements. I will bet a lot of the QQ threads would disappear. As talking to friends guild members and randoms in HoTM, people really stress about this one. If I only get to ruby this season, I have to get to ruby next as well, I didn’t play much during season 1 and only got Hal way through emerald. If I had know how much of a pain this one achievement would be, I would have played alot more. Once I have my back item I can’t see me really trying for the next. I’m not going to stress my self out for a year trying to get enough crossings for the next item.
This assumes that new people won’t start QQing after you change the requirements. They will, just instead of being “omg i can’t push divisions!” it’ll be “omg the requirements are too high!”, or it’ll be the other side of the aisle going “omg all these nubs have muh wings!”
Not really, the better players have the wings already. ANet made the mistake of saying the wings ae for everyone. Winning games and getting kills are not hard to get, but they are time consuming. We still have the time gate of the games a day to keep people playing.

By limiting respawns per day.
Give players say five free respawns per day, and additional ones bought with gems for exponentionally raising price (so Wallet Warriors cannot spam it infinitely), and you will both improve PvP quality and make a tidy profit.
Wireframe if a F2P game. GW2 is not. Id be very angry at this and it would be the death of PvP. You must hate this game.

Cele was cancer, that’s why it went.
And this phrase seems to be insane. Cancer is spread by cultists of Tentacle Gods; all cele was causing was the frustration of incompetent failbuilders.
It was over used, and bad for build diversity, that’s why it went. Nothing to do with fail builds at all. I fully expect vipers to go next.
