But again, you don’t gloat about fixing bugs that have been reported for years. You simply do it without expecting a big fanfare.
They haven’t even made an effort to do THAT. I understand your point, but MOST game developers handle bugs at a much more expedient rate. When it takes you years to fix things that could be handled in under 8 days, Its not about expecting a fanfare, its about giving your customers/community some reassurance that you give a kitten .

The new colors are cool and all…but its definitely not all they could have done given the amount of time they have had and apparently “been working on things”.
Which world do you currently reside on? This matters if you want to do WvW eventually, as you have to be on the same world in order to participate — guesting doesn’t work.

Ye thats exactly what we need. Another tournament to burn people out, have servers become stacked, and give achievement points to pve’ers to come and que up maps and do nothing but hunt jp achievements. Im only open for another tournament if there are serious changes.
They launched Season 2 with no changes regarding any problems brought up with Season 1 aside from the queues with EotM.
And midway through we got account wide WXP.Now they are giving us a new mastery, a new trick and rainbow tags ! It is the perfect opportunity !

Wow. This feature patch was so called for. We have tons of unfixed bugs, but hey, at least we can all have a pink commander tag and a siege disabler trap…I don’t know how many more of these letdowns I can take before I just uninstall the game.

Can someone explain what all the drama is about to someone who never really did wvw before?
Is this to do with desolation all of a sudden getting really good and beating everyone?Basically it boils down to some random guys is mad because his server couldn’t beat DR, therefore it must be a case of DR buying every guild in the game. This way he can jusify being mad at a Video game.
Server transfers should have never been implemented. Yes they are good for A-net’s wallet, but they are bad for overall game/RvR structure. This was obvious, and since this was never changed, this was inevitable. Since server alignment only pertains to WvWvW now, if you’re going to allow server transfers, why not make transfers cost badges or something that cannot be obtained via player mail? I may not stop the problem, but at least it would slow it down.
Most game have transfers available, players come and go and some people just don’t like being stuck on one of those servers that are in the trenches of T8. We all bought this game for entertainment, how entertaining is it to sit in the Game mode you enjoy with nothing to do ? They will never do transfers for badges, theres no profit in it for Anet, and as you can see from the recent notes for september Anet is all about the money grab. As much as people hate transfers, they are a nessasary evil imo.
It was not necessary until the inevitable chain of bandwagoning began. They are only “necessary” now so that the players can try to correct something that is entirely not their fault. We play games for entertainment, that is true… but you can’t honestly tell me that it is right for thousands(yes thats right, thousands) of players to have to spend either money or gold and time to transfer to make the game fun for them because of design flaw they had no part in. At this point there really is no turning back however. The only viable options I can think of to correct this huge mess, would be to either merge the lower tiers into a couple of servers or to push us all into higher tier servers and do away with the unpopulated ones until the game grows to the point they are necessary.

Make the new commander tag colors cost badges of honor for one, if we’re going to pay 300g for a tag, we shouldn’t have to dish out an extra 900g for all the colors…most of the people in these forums spend the majority of their gold on keep upgrades and siege…what on earth would make it seem like we can afford 300g per color? If that isn’t a hand trying to reach in my wallet, I don’t know what is.
As for changes, how about fix the many bugs that get abused daily in WvWvW? If they would just do that, I would gladly go without a pink commander tag >.>
I’m tired of keeps getting papered without touching a gate/wall/Lord by mesmers getting underneath the map. I’m tired of trebs being built in spawn….etc.

The problem with a power bow ranger is it drops like a rock when the fight isn’t going exactly according to plan. It can’t fight outnumbered, and there are too many builds that it has no answer for.
Never had this problem myself. I’ve fought plenty of 1vX fights and survived and it is extremely rare to run into a build that is a hard counter. Regen bunkers were tough until I added poison to my build, some super tanky guardians can still be annoying but it’s not like they are going to be able to kill you so the fight usually ends in a victory or draw.
If you really want to kitten people off just kite them to a spot with water. If you knock them in you can tear them apart with the bow. If the fight isn’t going well just jump in the water where a ranger is almost unkillable in a 1v1 fight due to the downed mechanic.
thats because most guardians in this game haven’t figured out a very obvious way to remain tanky and still do 8-12k crits 
Its true that there are a few builds the ranger has no answer for, I am one of them
Hopefully this patch changes that, or at least gives them an easier time of trying to combat them.

Most importantly, all the guild drama is gone. All of it transferred. Now more than ever it would seem that all guilds in FC communicate and work well together. People are more encouraged to WvW from public channels, as opposed to sitting in their guild channels. Communication overall is improving, and as more and more HKT and Oceanic timezoners move here, coverage is slowly improving as well.

In all seriousness, I’m glad that they are doing SOMETHING, but in all honesty I do not believe this is nearly enough. The top of the page says it is subject to change… I really hope they make a lot of changes to the WvW section.

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read. This is an advertisement for Ferguson’s Crossing. As many may know, there was a mass exodus from the server not to long ago. We have been rebuilding over the past month or so, and an interesting turn of events has taken place. Since many “band wagoned” to DR and DB, after the smoke cleared so to speak, we were left with a very skilled and determined group of core WvWvW players/leaders. We have proven in our skill group fights time and time again in the last few match ups that our combat tactics are superior in our tier. If we had the population to sustain such enormous amounts of PPT as the stacked servers that we’ve been getting matched up against all the time, I truly believe that we would be unstoppable. Join us in FC! Help us realize this server’s full potential!

Warrior is by far the easiest.
Guardian is a bit more difficult knowing when to do shouts, etc.
Both are easy compared to other professions.
Unless you run a medi-hybrid burst guard. Really effective, but difficult to do right.
And PU Mesmer is SO easy to play. I’ve won 1v4’s with PU. Probably why I never play mes anymore.
Anyone who thinks a guardian is the easiest class to play, obviously has not played one. Btw, altruistic healing isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Your honestly better off with monks meditation so that contemplation of purity not only cleanses all condis, but heals based off healing power. Pair that with save yourselves and you get a guardian that can cleanse everyone’s condis without nuking themselves. If you run that with 5 trait points into your virtue line it will also allow you a nice burst. Do the math and make the comparisons and you will see what I mean.
Make a warrior OP, they have it made in the shade. I hear Anet sends them free piña coladas everytime they reset a fight too.

when you say "eSports"…you must mean PvP, because I haven’t seen a dev in WvWvW since I began playing the game.

Ferguson’s Crossing is currently in the processes of rebuilding, we still bust zergs, but are looking to take on more of a night crew populace. Currently, we need more HKT and Australian timezone players, but all are welcome. If you are looking for a server of mostly friendly and skilled player. FC is the place for you. Be a part of something glorious, and help us rebuild.
There needs to be a way to balance the servers and keep transfers to a minimum.

With this new “megaserver” having been implemented, I don’t think that a server’s PvE population should effect the price of a server transfer. Since the only sensible reason to transfer servers anymore would be WvWvW, why is it that a server’s PvE population is still added onto the WvWvW population to determine the price of a transfer? (For example: Ferguson’s Crossing is lucky to field 35-40 players at any given time in WvWvW, yet we have several PvE guilds that refuse to enter WvWvW. Thus transfer price to FC is 1800 gems.) Is it to be able to charge more gems/gold? Is it because Anet has neglected to even think of this? Thoughts?
It still should. The reason being that WvW players still will transfer to cause harm and spy on other servers. The fees should stay this way.
Being on one specific US server, we had a player put done useless siege items so we could not put down siege to defeat the enemy. As it turns out, his transfer price was paid by one of the other servers we are up against. What we did do, was to continually bait the other teams and get him killed constantly so he eventually left the WvW map.
If you changed the transfer fee, more of this would occur and WvW would be what it was at the beginning of GW2, a travesty.
it would be easy enough to put a time limit on how long until they can enter WvW after transferring. perhaps 3-4 days after transfer?(I’m pretty sure its a week right now actually) Easily solved. As far as supply trolls go, I’ve always said it and will say it again, we need in game mods that can differentiate between a supply troll and a new player throwing siege because they did not know better. No matter how high you make a gem price for transfer, you will still encounter such spies. Thats a fault in the system design. Its been happening for so long that we might as well just accept that it is going to happen until some improvement is made. However, this should not make it impossible for servers with mostly PvE guilds to acquire the help they need to contend with these incredibly unbalanced match ups.

only a WvW player spends 100 gold on guild catapults and omegas before reset.
only a WvW player uses the “join squad” feature.
only a WvW player wishes there was a full sized dolyak back piece.
The gold I can’t answer for. The so called bandwagon, maybe 3-4 small guilds. Roaming is good on the BL’s. EB, you will prob get ganked. There is a lot of duel in EB also.
TBT, DmD, WZ, SM, etc… all dem small guilds yo…
Other than maybe DmD(10-15) online at one time, the rest maybe 8, SM I hardly see in WvW. Yes, small guilds.
They may be small guilds to a now tier 5 server, but to a tier 7 server like FC they were what little coverage we had left. We do alright defending during primetime, but unless its the weekend our “primetime” is not very long. We did lose a sizable amount of players to DB as well. In fact, I’ve had to ban quite a few of them from our teamspeak that have taken it upon themselves to come back to troll/harrass and even threaten some of those who have chosen to remain in FC.
they refuse to actually communicate at all and when they decide to it’s a cryptic (well we are working on something but we are not comfortable telling you about it right now). Boy I wish my clients would let me do that in software development……

Joining a conversation and bumping long-dead threads with developer posts in them as an attention-seeking tactic are two entirely different things. A few people decided to start digging through the forum and bumping old topics, not to contribute to conversations there or post new and insightful comments to breathe new life into the topic, but to be disruptive and to try and “prove a point”. Since asking nicely rarely seems to work with the people engaging in this behavior, I made the sticky post explicitly telling everybody to stop, under threat of infraction, suspension and ultimately banning. If there’s a topic you actually wish to discuss, then please open a thread (if an active one does not currently exist) and do so. This is not a new limitation on what you can talk about, just a request to stop the disruptive necroposting.
I understand your frustrations and desire to hear from developers about what’s under development, I really do. However, as I said in the other thread I posted in today, we are unable to comment on features under development until they reach a state where we, as a company, are comfortable talking about them. So, when you ask “are you working on x” or “what’s the status of y”, we can’t comment.
Being disruptive on the forums (in old or new threads), making rude or demanding posts and posting comments like “there is no WvW team anymore” are hardly an endearing method that encourages our developers to post more. I would ask that you take this into consideration when posting as well.
Again I can assure you, the developers are reading the forums regularly, even though they don’t have time to post a reply to everything they read. Additionally, as I read these forums probably more than anybody here, I regularly compile reports for the competitive team to make sure they are up to speed on your concerns and desires. Does this mean your every wish will be granted? No, it does not. What it does mean is that the team is regularly being made aware of how the community feels about the game and what features, content, etc. that you like, dislike or want to see in the future. What it also means is that we take note of when you all ask for or suggest a feature that is currently under development, so that down the line, when it’s actually released and a bunch of people clamor to the forums to complain that “nobody asked for this” (you know who you are), we can refer back and be secure in the knowledge that somebody did, in fact, ask for it.
Now, this post has ended up way longer than I intended it to be. I don’t expect what I’ve said here to cause a sudden change in the tone or content of the posts on this forum. What I do expect is your understanding that we’re not just sitting here twiddling our thumbs and I haven’t enacted this rule against necroposting as some sinister method to justify shutting down the WvW forum. WvW is one of the core game types of Guild Wars 2, and as long as we have forums and I have something to say about it, we will have a place for WvW discussion.
Speaking from a developer perspective and owner of numerous forums….this is bullkitten. If you don’t want people necro’ing threads….ARCHIVE THEM.
The point of allowing people to bring up old posts is to keep relevant content together regardless of age. If you feel there is a point in time at which people should never be allowed to bring up old threads at all. They should be moved to a read-only archive forum so that people can still search them. Blaming users for using your forum software as it was built, with the features it was built with is stupid….at best.
I would have to agree with this statement. From a student/up and coming game dev standpoint I would assume that this all really stems from one very simple concept that most if not all dev’s understand:
It is much more appealing to create than to fix. It is much more fun to create new content than to polish/fix old content.*
therefore it is likely that in an attempt to “sweep the problem under the rug” or at least reduce the obviousness(is that a word? lol) of it being necessary, they have decided to get rid of old traces of it entirely.
Although this may be their forum and they may have every right in the world to moderate it as they see fit, it is not smart to blame as opposed to taking responsibility. In truth, you all should feel wronged, because you have been. You are being indirectly blamed for something that is actually a design flaw(if “necroing” was something that was never intended to happen.).

Thats funny, I don’t recall mentioning any guilds. Oh thats right, I did so purposely because the majority of people leaving weren’t even affiliated with WZ. But since you’ve called them out…Yes, WZ did in fact leave FC to go to DR. However, MORE people left to follow after playing the first week in WvW without them. You should consider the point you are going to try and make from a post before quoting it btw

Unfortunately all you did by posting this here was to make everyone aware of the glitch. You should have used the bug report function. Have fun dealing with the abusers…
sad but true. A-net has long been absent from this forum. However there are plenty of willing and able exploiters out there.
Nope, NPCs don’t fight back and players will hide in keeps whether they are t1 or t3. Don’t waste your spare time performing menial and pointless tasks in game, fight people and if they are going to cower inside their keeps “bugging” dolyaks on their odd venture into the fresh air they really aren’t worth the effort you’ll put in to get at them.
…you have obviously never been a small server in tier7. Where we get matched up against massive servers like DH and NSP and HAVE TO cut supply off from them just to get our keeps back. Otherwise they will sit in our keeps and siege/upgrade the place because they can just jump down on us when we come to the gate, Trebbing and catapulting just gets you portal bombed and open field battles 20 versus 70 don’t go so well…Sometimes you HAVE TO cut their supply lines just to know that by the fourth time you go back to raid they will at least be out of supply and not be able to repair the walls/gates. Although the first word in the original post was “seriously” I still took this as more of a joke, but if some of you really need to make sense of it, then here – it is called “burning” damage, not “on-fire” damage.
Let’s try (not really) an experiment. Go to your kitchen. Turn on your range to “high” until it starts glowing red. Now, firmly apply your hand to said range. Was your hand ever on fire? Is it still “burning” and taking “burning damage”?
Now stick your hand in a glass of water. Is it still taking damage from having been burned?

me neither, considering the fact that when you have burning applied you’re character is engulfed in flames -_- and it only does dmg every second the flames are up.
Have you never had burning applied to you?

No. I understand the op. I’ve also already stated my thoughts on the warrior if you scroll up. I was making conversation off a point you made about classes needing to be nerfed. Is point based conversation not the entire point of a public forum? Don’t answer that.

AoE’s. Nuff said. If you can’t kill the thief as is, Its a l2p issue. If you don’t have AoE’s you’re probably playing a warrior, and if a thief kills your warrior under the current conditions of the warriors build capabilities…you seriously need to revisit your traits/ armor and weapons load out.

With 4 sec stealth, I can be very very far away in every direction. What AOEs can you target things you can’t see. This is not to mention the 350 heals per sec in-stealth and conditional clear. If you can’t get away as thief, that’s more of a l2p issue for you.
you can very visibly see SR. So that is easily AoE’d. If the thief uses a non AoE stealth then lay an AoE under yourself. If the thief is running you need not worry unless they are pistol/dagger or short bow. I f they are indeed pistol/dagger or short bow then apply retaliation and back up out of their range until they start to follow, at that moment move forward and either cc/interrupt/immobolize them then DPS. If they stealth again just repeat the process. Yes, I am completely serious about this. Thats why I never get rolled by thieves unless they outnumber me(thats on my necro, guardian, warrior, thief and engi). If a thief can kill you using stealth alone it is still a l2p issue. I’m sorry, but the thief just doesn’t need nerfing. I’m not trying to flame you or inspire any rage, I’m just stating my opinions as this forum permits.

Steel burns under water.
Explain the lighter “armor” classes burning underwater then. Seeing as lighter armor is clearly fabric as opposed to metal.

Even the best rangers I know will tell you that the class needs buffing. There might be a lot of rangers out there bad at playing the class, but theres a reason rangers are often reffered to as a “re-roll”.
I cant believe there are people who are actually saying warriors are balanced..
my warrior has
-24k hp
-2.9k armor
-2.3k power
-44% crit chance
-crazy mobility
-many -condi durations along with condi clears
-some crazy cc’s with variety weapon choices
-8 second condi immune / 4 seconds invincible mode + more if traited
-free 25% movement speed without traveler or speed runes that makes me use more powerful runes without sacrificing any movement speed that are essential for wvwand all those stats are without any kind of food buffs and all my items are full zerker.
still not op? show me which classess can have those stats + mobility and condi clears invicible and with FULL ZERKER GEAR????
I wouldnt cry about warrior having high hp/tough and attack but with crazy burst mobile too.. really? Warrior doesnt lack of anything they dont need sacrifice anything to have both offensive and defensive stats and they are easy to play as well lol still not op? at least warrior’s mobile should get nerfed
I can relate, I stopped playing my warrior. I have such an unfair advantage as long as I don’t get zerged that I actually feel bad about playing it. Warriors are completely OP, and I have no reservations in saying it. You can nerf warriors for all I care. Its to embarrassing to play a class that requires such little skill anymore anyway.

Nope months without anything. Still surprise A-net has been ignoring wvw for so long. Thought wvw would at least get one of those before/after season but no.Not even a minor update.
An interesting thing I noticed last night, when you compare the last time a dev posted in WvW to other forum areas like PvP, Living World, gates of maguuma, general discusson etc..
WvW it’s been 3 months, while the rest have either been a week or less. Not only that, when you look at things like profession balance, it’s a ghost town in there as well, which by the way is also 3 months or so.
Now I might be biased in saying this, but it’s in my opinion that the 2 biggest things that need addressing in this game are WvW and profession balance. Ironically, neither of them (or addressing them I should say) will make them any money.
Someone pay this man for his detective work. He has “hit the nail on the head” so to speak.
