the pictures speak for themselves, nothing is wrong with my monitor or gpu…so why is this happening? Whats with the random pink patches in bgbl?
It’s no longer just the camera that triggers this bug. If you press anything at all after activation it’s likely to happen. I find myself lifting my hands from both my mouse and keyboard when I use it and it works everytime. Real shame I have to resort to doing that though.
Its only a matter of time before a group of players that love WvW/RvR come along and crowdfund a game that is BETTER…Oh wait thats right : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camelot_Unchained
Searched on youtube, yep still at least 1-2 years away like we guessed the same 1-2 years ago, not sure why people keep bringing it up like its right around the corner.
The same reason why I’m not sure people keep pointing out that it’s still in development like it’s never going to come out. See? I can do that too, now wheres my cookie you kitten?
I wish Anet would invest into some servers with Intel Xeon-8890 v3 CPUs for tier 1 WvW bracket instead of wasting 200k on their pvp esport dream for price money. It feels like WvW is running on an Intel Atom CPU at the moment ;(
This. Lots of this. Wish Anet would realize that beating out DOTA and other moba’s is a pipe dream. Double down on WvW…because you have the WvW market cornered for the time being. not to mention the random crashes…its borderline unplayable atm. I can’t even run file repair on the game without THAT crashing too.
Can’t speak for all guilds listed, but tREX is just good bro. A good skill group can wipe scrub blobs.
Anet is busy ATM working on repair hammers, because that’s more important than fixing skill lag.
Oh my kittening god. You people just love to spout off nonsense purely because its cool to hate on ANet.
They said that the hammers were developed years ago and it would only take a very small amount of effort to actually put them in the game. They aren’t building them from scratch. Just because you don’t like them does not give you the right to be an kitten and spread misinformation about kitten in an attempt to slander ANet.
Lol slander? Sweetheart, this is a public forum. If you can’t handle other people posting their opinions I’d suggest leaving, because we have every right to post so long as what we are posting isn’t violating the forum rules.
On topic:
The skill lag has been almost unbearable at times, I don’t remember it ever being this bad even when the game mode was at its peak.

Like the back piece idea, but it’s not going to change much.
As a fan of fights instead of watching one guy pressing 2 on cata, I have one ultimate solution: remove the walls!
I’m actually all for this. To be completely honest, I’d be okay if they made an entirely seperate game mode. One where instead of putting caps on how many players could be on a map they instead give you the option to que for fights against groups similar to how many players are in your squad when you que. Three teams of 10,15,20 etc….but no objectives with walls or gates or siege, just a big kitten capture ring in the middle of an open field.
… And they’d call that “The Obsidian Sanctum’s Courtyard”.
Not the same thing man, you’re restricted to fighting guilds in your matchup. Fighting the same people gets boring.

How about a tactivator that turns everyone into loot bags?
Best Play NA
I tried out trapper thief last night after all the rage posts… It’s horrible.
The only people I managed to kill were the ones who wanted to chase, I was able to troll a group really well with heals and stealth (shaman/apoth gear) but I never came close to killing any of them, it was purely a game of cat and mouse.
I say this all the time. If anyone actually dies to this build its because they themselves are either bad, or completely new to the game….besides physical is more fun to play lol
Make it so resistance, stability and protection cannot be shared/copied by mesmer signet.
If you aren’t on BG, or if you don’t enjoy running 10-15 man skill groups…then we’re not for you. [Nors] The Brutal Enclave runs organized skill groups on wednesdays, thursdays and saturdays every week @ 7pm until 10pm Eastern Standard Time. (we also run randomly outside those times but the above times are the scheduled.)
:::::THE POINT>> My colleagues and I enjoy running multiple VIABLE builds and compositions to try different tactics and strategies against other groups in WvW. We are looking for other individuals that also enjoy that without being so try hard you arent fun to hang out with.
Seriously, we aren’t looking for kittenbags. What we are looking for is EXPERIENCED players that ENJOY killing and building better skill groups more than PPT. Given that a few of our members have gotten bored of this game(Stale PvP meta etc.) we’ve recently lost several players to BDO. We don’t usually recruit in public or in map chat, but I will leave this up for 72 hours. Get up with me IN GAME. You can mail/PM me with @ Brutal Augus.5917

If you can’t handle people drinking or smoking in teamspeak we’re not the guild for you.

I always thought it would be interesting to make resistance stackable…like one stack of resistance gives immunity to one condi on you…3 stacks make you immune to three condis currently on you, etc.
Would still be too powerful unless separate stacks had separate durations… Resistance should work more like protection and only reduce the effectiveness of conditions (instead of completely nullifying them) and not like stability.
I feel like that would be a good change. Along side the idea of changing the list of boons that can be shared mentioned by Kyon above.
• Revert Stab changes
• Revert CC hit count changes
• Nerf Mesmer Boon Sharing. Make it so that only specific boons can be shared. Stability, Resistance, and Quickness should not be shared.

Stability, Resistance, and Quickness should not be shared.Anet already did this to Tempest Warhorn which made it crap-tier from decent. They could have just removed those 3 boons from the share-list but instead they thought it should only share might and fury. Why can’t they do it to Mesmer?
That’s a very good point Kyon, about changing the sharelist.
Vanilla stability with the current boonshare meta of permanent resistance? You want immortal blobs running around?
Well, in this case I think the words “permanent resistance” is an exaggeration. Especially given that most of this “permanent resistance” you speak of relies upon a 25% chance proc(and a 20sec internal cd) on a set of runes…A blob has a very good chance to proc A LOT of it though. Still probably not permanent though.
but no, what I want is the means to investigate claims exactly like this one. For just a week. Allow me to quote myself,Why not for just a week revert stability mechanics back to the original state, giving all of us the chance to put such claims to the test for ourselves? Just a thought.
That isn’t what he means, the boon share meta is more than just durability runes. You can pretty much get perma stab/resistance between a mesmer using signet of inspiration, and a rev spamming pain absorption (while maintaining facet of nature for +50% boon duration). Or just run another boon share mesmer if you don’t have a rev (this meta has been around pre-HoT, a lot of Sea timezone have used it for the last couple years). Add in an aurashare tempest your set to blob things down.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Facet_of_Nature
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Signet_of_Inspiration
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pain_AbsorptionYou can also gear for another +50% boon duration if you really wish due to platinum doubloons and the new concentration stat.
We really don’t need to revert to old stab just to test it, especially with this boon share stuff. There won’t be much difference between the current stab, and the original. Smaller roaming fights there might be a difference if you can spam ccs to strip it down fast enough (though you might be better off kiting and letting it drain off).
See? That was an excellent and well made point. Very constructive comment.
Thank you for pointing out something I wasn’t taking into account and then actually explaining it.
(edited by Brutal Augus.5917)
And eliminate Revenants to make it fair?
Not sure what specifically you are trying to point out here about revs. If you’re talking about facets, there isn’t one for stab. If you’re referencing IR on Dwarf stance just remove the pulse application and make it apply to the priority 5 players per skill. Not complicated to rework for stab 1.0, but again I’m guessing at what you are trying to point out here because your comment doesn’t leave me much to go off of.

I demand a GvG Anet.
Hey A-net,
While you’re playing around with server merging for a couple months, why not try reverting back to the original stability mechanics if for just a week? Over the time that you’ve been tweeking it I’ve read some pretty interesting arguments and threads revolving around the topic. (I’m to lazy to list a bunch of thread links, but one such example would be the claim that given the addition of more boon stripping to the game that we wouldn’t notice the changes.) Why not for just a week revert stability mechanics back to the original state, giving all of us the chance to put such claims to the test for ourselves? Just a thought.
No. Because we still have not established answers to a lot of very old problems.
Some for example would be;
*Please give us back vanilla stability.
*Polish your kittening maps
*Delete/merge/split/WTFE you are eventually going to decide to do to servers in order to accommodate both the game mode and the games ACTUAL populace.
…do some of that and I’ll vote to bring seasons back. Until then I feel like bringing seasons back might encourage activity that works directly against whats trying to be accomplished here by trying things like server merging.

Hell, the revenant still has gm traits that don’t actually do what the traits description says it does (pulsating pestilence in corruption for example.) Revenant is missing the polish other classes have simply from being in the game since launch. Fix stab Anet. Will go a long way for skill groups like op mentions.
druid has available to it everything needed to be god mode in 1vX’s atm.
Just look at how many Druid roaming videos flood youtube now if you filter search results down to most recent.
I do just fine in 1vx situations, ill be uploading some roaming footage this week
lol

At the end of the day they’re going to have to realize that an updated version of a system that was originally used to rank speed chess players (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glicko_rating_system) simply will not work as intended for this variant.
I love reading all the exaggerations in these types of threads. Makes me rofl.
They need to just make another game variant that pins three teams of 20 or 30 players against eachother in 20 minute long matches. No objectives other than one big capture ring and alot of killing in the middle of an open field map. Instead of the matchmaking being made based on servers you’re on just have a place to go register a team for a match then bam you get thrown into matchmaking…OR SOMETHING.
Atleast We’d get our fights, and you all still get to hump an arrow cart in 8 hour shifts in ABL
even godzilla thinks its a great idea:

while we wait on anything to actually be done about the numerous problems/bugs/just plain odd anomalies…
enjoy.
“Ghost Thief” as you call it, is useless for anything other than the personal enjoyment of annoying players with it. If they actually die to it that is a testament to either that players lack of skill or experience or both.
Yea those boons man, not like condis that can be spammed constantly, stacked high, do ridiculous amounts of damage, and cant be cleansed enough to deal with the sheer spam.
Why care about them when you are running practically unlimited Resistance?
Unlimited is kind of an exaggeration…You get 2 seconds per demonstance skill. Please don’t needlessly exaggerate. That’s how dumb nerfs happen.
That being said, I agree that both boons and conditions could use a rework.
I wouldn’t say no one bothered to learn to run them. I can attest that by the time they rotated back to alpine my guild had devised multiple strategies for capturing, and even found the most oppurtune places on the map to ambush groups.
Our(Nors) issue with DBL compared to ABL was that it is simply larger and less conducent to the nature of WvW. Alpine simply makes it easier to get to the fight. I think that’s all the majority of my guild really cares about. Again, that is just our perspective.
Rest assured though, they said they’d rotate the maps.
Go roll thief. Maybe after you’ll have an easier time fighting them.
I’m confused. The Server linking (plus dem reward tracks doe) has done nothing but bring me more heavy loot bags. Why QQ?
The queues are nothing compared to a dead game variant.
Rofl. Only thieves that still run that garbage are trolls. Build not even close to OP. Next topic plz. GG. EZ.
This is getting ridiculous. If you don’t like WvW don’t play it.
Players are there for different reasons… Such behaviours exist in wvw too…
Yes, but NOT because of the money or the mega-xp
Note that when collusion first occurred en masse in WvW (GvGs), Anet was quick to respond with the Obsidian Sanctum.
EoTM is another QuarantineResource gathering… that’s interesting, considering players can gather resources faster and more efficiently in pve…
Not all resources.
Your arguments are weak with your generalizations…
My, so aggressive :]
As it stands, Eotm is imo a third of the overall problem with WvW. If you want to have RvR in an MMO the population and system by which you manage that population has to work appropriately.
You can’t make people WANT to do what you want them to do.
Something many citizens of Democracy seem to misunderstand.
No part of my statement suggests I want to make anyone do anything. Just becauze i point out that one game mode conflicts with another doesn’t warrant jumping to the conclusion I want to make anyone who doesnt want to wvw do so. The point of my statement was pointing out that the current state of the population isn’t appropriate for the system being used to manage it in the game mode. Also, what does democracy have to do with any part of this thread?

As it stands, Eotm is imo a third of the overall problem with WvW. If you want to have RvR in an MMO the population and system by which you manage that population has to work appropriately. Thing is, neither the system used to determine standing and matchup in WvW nor the population of WvW are appropriate for the current game mode structure. No matter how you choose to look at this issue, Eotm is a contributor to this issue. That is just my opinion.
Edit: I am elaborating on my opinion above
(edited by Brutal Augus.5917)
Couldn’t agree more. WvW “development” seems more and more like a serious misallocation of talent and resources. The need for developer player collaboration is painfully obvious in regards to WvW. The fact that this trend of doubling back on it has continued for so long isn’t helping either. My guild has gone from hundreds to a handful due largely to the state of this game mode. This game mode is in a fragile position. It is salvageable, but you need help from your community that frequent this game mode. If we keep heading in our current direction rick roll the almighty meme destroyer will surely reap our souls.
Yes, yes there is.
It was called the New Game Enhancement.
Anyone here experience this firsthand?
Unfortunately yes. Galaxies was my first MMO. I don’t think GW2 is in the same position however. All my issues with game as is are fixable.
The speed should be fixed so that it is applied properly to the golem. I agree this is something that should not have been taken away. With the sheer size of the new map alone it was a golem necessity.
Cannot actually use any of the guild hall vendors on mac client (confirmed for versions 10.7.5 as feel as 10.11 of OS X). When I talk to the guild treasurer, or any vendors npc’s in the guild hall for that matter, I can see the user interface however I cannot scroll down or click any of the buttons in their menu.
Are there really only 9 new sets of armor?

This expansion has been in development for one year at the least, two at the most. The content released is but a very small fraction of what the base game is, considering how many armor types were made during the creation of the base game along with everything else content/UI/ gameplay related (2007-2012) it is more than doable to have put more in. I would guess they purposely did not include everything they have designed at once rather than it being to difficult to do in the amount of time they took. I’m sure they will release more. I just wouldn’t expect anything outside of the gem store…But before chastising the entirety of arena net for grabbing at your wallet/purses, consider two things. Business and Employment. Most everyone with a job has a boss of some sort. Sometimes you have to do things/make decisions you don’t want to to retain said employment. I’m sure that there are employees that wanted to give us more, just as I am sure there are superiors to those individuals that want to gross more revenue this year by stretching content into gem store products. Also, you really can’t expect a successful business of any sort even if not a gaming company to be more concerned with your satisfaction over selling the product. Not saying all business is evil. You might know many small or local businesses in your area that treat you well because you actually interact with them. We do not actually interact with arena net on a daily or even somewhat daily basis. Not physically anyway, therefore they have little obligation to even acknowledge your discontent, you’d be lucky to get a red post here and even then they might be the janitor for all you know. This also happens to be a game that they have every right to do as they please with. Once they have your money you can eat a kitten, because the employees at arena net that really enjoy their job creating the games most of us are addicted to and want us to enjoy will probably not get their way. Instead, their superiors will make the decisions and they will do as they are told not complaining because in the end it made them all as a company more money. I cannot honestly put myself in their shoes and say I would dispute it. How can I? I have two kids. Hell yeah I want more money. Its the same for me in my workplace. It may not be moral. It may not be right. It just is.
I’m sure you will get more armor. So long as you are willing to pay for it.

Don’t play then. The rest of us are having fun.
Who are “The rest of us” ?
This must be a social group/cult I’m not a part of.
Thankyou for the advice and feedback.
I feel like the title says it all, but basically my question is:
“Is it more helpful to a GvG composition to have all elementalists running full Zerk(armor/weapon/accessories) with more damage oriented traits like the traitline 6/6/0/0/2(Pyromancer’s w/ lightning rod and blasting staff) to maximize their damage output, or is it better to have one or two running PVT armor with zerk weapons and accessories with the trait line 0/0/2/6/6 (meta battle staff traits) for the condi clears on regen?”
It has been my personal opinion that the elementalist is best played as an offensive caster as opposed to a healer since it can only heal on attunement swap to water, evasive arcana water roll and with the water3 and 5 on staff. Despite this, the elementalist has so much CC/zoning and aoe spam. If elementalists can survive without the points into the water trait line, I thought they would be better off throwing the points into more offensive areas.
Am I right?
If not, please elaborate.
(edited by Brutal Augus.5917)
I support this idea
Why?
It is already established that they are slowly, but surely adding new lines to invest points. Why would we want to limit the room for growth, by adding something that competes with those points going into new WvW upgrades.
Where was that established?
Could you please provide a link?
The last time I remember them talking about adding new masteries was back in april 2014 which…was 9 months ago(almost a year) ago.
(edited by Brutal Augus.5917)
Simple, straight forward idea. Perhaps rank ability points could turn into a currency of some sort that can be traded in for WvWvW related items after a player has maxed out their abilities. I must admit, the ability points feel a little useless once you’ve maxed out your abilities as is. A new mastery of some sort would be well appreciated just to get rid of the excess points piling up with nothing to spend them on, but if thats not going to happen perhaps this could be implemented seeing as its actually quite simple to add another vendor.
