I have seen a lot (and i mean a hell of a lot) of Assassins creed looking players…
i saw 5 last night and fought against another 2 …

Well, mixing and matching is great with light armour but putting on a trenchcoat onto the Duelist legs totally changes the image of a stealthy thief…

Well, as i said, i like the ‘Duelist’ but with so many other thieves wearing it i find i’m just one of many as opposed to unique

I thought you could not get the clothes/armour of other orders?

Playing the game (mostly PvE and WvWvW) and i guess 85-90% of female thieves i see are wearing the Duelist armour set (even wear it myself) which for me makes my character feel less unique which deters from my immersion.

This imho is due to the severe lack of thief-style armours that are available in the game as most seem to be catered towards Engineers/Rangers. I am sorry but i do not want my stealthy acrobatic Thief to wear a heavy trenchcoat which totally goes against my stealthy image of what i want my Thief to be.

The Character creation screen is a prime example of what i am talking about – on creation (for human) is shows you wearing the Duelist armour (tight fitting and very stealthy/acrobatic looking) while the engineer/Ranger wear more trrenchcoat-style armours. In my opinion there are only 2-3 skins that suit the thief…

Duelist – Looks like a stealthy killer – Very good but so over used as it looks the best for the image of a stealthy killer.

CoE Armour – This looks very good and i see a few wearing this (grinding for this myself)

T3 Human – Looks fantastic but only the super rich need apply

Order of Whispers – This has me confused… The LIGHT armour looks very Thief-like while the medium armour looks like it belongs to a caster class (skirt/fancy top)

As stated, these are just my opinions but things like how my char looks are very important to my immersion and making me connect to my character and every thief wearing the only decent (Duelist) armour makes me look less unique.

I have seen this skin on the Database as an exotic weapon but it gives no idea where to aquire the weapon (which i find fustrating).

Anyone know where to get it?

I play casual, like hunting/dungeons/wvwvw would like a fun non-serious/elitist guild to do some wvwvw/dungeons with :-)

I have 70 mf and hunting around Orr and all i seem to get is Porus bones!!! What’s the deal?

So tired of seeing amazing looking Heavy and light armour but so tired of wearing trenchcoats for my Thief

Ok, after reading the posts and playing i have started to understand the play/strategy a little more (especially with the cost in gold – ouch)
As stated i’m on Gandara and what confused me was that we re-take a keep, then everyone in the zerg leaves the keep to re-take another keep – then looking back we see the first keep has been re-taken (so the process rolls on) never once have i heard someone barking out orders for 5-15 players to garison the keep – or maybe it’s a lack of players which allows this. Hard manning the defence alone hehe

I have recently started Wv3 and play on the Gandara EU server and very suprised that Gandara is ranked 17th on the EU server lists. Most of the time when i have logged on we have basically owned most of the maps so i am just a little confused by the rankings.
Yes, i am a W3 Noob but starting to get into it :-)

Don’t get me wrong, i am starting to love the wvwvw aspect of the game (strange as i have never been into pvp) and regularly help supply keeps etc…
Mainly i play with a few (2/3) others who use hit-run tactics re-capping supply areas/capturing waypoints, acting as look outs – usually away from the large zergs which i find less fun.

—Some of them are the type to drop 100 gold to buy a commander title and then take responsibility for the server’s assorted mishmash of guilds and randoms and try to organize a success—

While i do understand this type of gameplay, they must realise that as soon as they leave (work/sleep) all their worrying and stressing/organising will count for nothing…
But, as long as they are enjoying the game then that is fine just aslong as they realise others play for fun not as a dedicated job :-) (i have enough stress in my real job)

Was playing WvWvW for the first time and i could not believe how stressed or upset and serious people got about it… seriously so we lost a keep/supply point, it’s not the end of the world yet to listen to the whining and virtual screaming on the chat you would think they had lost something important like a family member!
Remember, it is only a game and meant to be fun :-)

I am very suprised there was no question about raising the bleed cap as to me this is a big problem, especially in big boss fights with other bleed/condition damage players…

Well, as i said, i find stealth always runs out before i get behind the monsters so i just do normal damage which is lackluster

Don’t get me wrong, i do see the need to advance with gear/stats to stop the game getting stale but i just wished they had rolled out more than ONE single place to get the new gear.
I know they said there will be other places in the future but when? 6 months time? 3 months?

I also worry that the (other places in future) will be for other items such as weapons/armor – meaning for rings/backslots it will still be down to rinning endless fractals.
Hope i am wrong as fractals were fun but bored of running all the time.

At the moment i’m using a d/d specced condition build (spam deathblossom) and works well, but wondering if i am missing out by not going crit damage on my thief?

I worry that in going crit damage spec i’ll be just a lesser warrior who does less damage and killed easier…
plus, useless at backstab – always run out of stealth when i try to get behind someone

Thoughts?

Lev 5 and already tired of waiting for a group then doing the same dungeons over and over and over etc …
I’d like to go explore but i know that if i don’t do this now it will be much harder to find groups in the future and as i know Agony will be part of all future content it will be needed…
I juat wish they released the items with more ways to get other than gring for hours in the same dungeon.. :-(
Not happy

Because i like to explore in the little time i have… explore and have fun in the world.
Spending precious game time looking for/spamming lev1-4 frac levels when i could be exploring/open world pve-some wvwvw is not fun for me.
But what i will be concerned about is when they release a whole new area/land full of agony monsters then my exploring fun will be over unless i grind fractals (and ectos/t6 regs etc…)
doing the same dungeon over and over and over again would drive me loopy!

I’m not to concerned with grinding for the Agony items but would like an eta on other new content requiring Agony items.
This will give me a precise idea of when i have to grind for the items (On my main and alts) and until then i can continue to enjoy the wonderful game/world :-)

I’m not so worried about the higher stats on the items, i am more worried about the agony defence.
I have a feeling the new land/dungeons in the future will have agony based monsters where you will need the agony defence to go there to have fun …

lol ok so this is the problem.

-so little imagination on how to implement open world pvp.

you are all assuming it would put people into PvE areas.

sigh, kids today have no original thoughts.-

And some kiddies want to gank/kill newbies to enhance their kittens then shout out how leet they are and that the person they ganked is a newb/ltp/should quit the game etc…

And open world Pvp would make me leave…
Nothing worse that having fun killing mobs then some guy decides it’s fun to kill you because he’s bored…

I have one Character at level 80 and currently working on getting him into Exotics, but i also know if i don’t run some low level fractals now i’ll be left behind for future content…

Now, i want to make an alt char but i worry that by the time i get him to 80 it will be virtually impossible to find low level fract groups (already difficult now) and since the new content will be all about Fractals this is something i will need (Want or not) .

I had thought to totally ignore the whole infusion gear but i have a feeling in the future new dungeons with great rewards will be added that are infusion only – making the current old dungeons obsolete.

What are peoples thoughts?

Well, not after a rare Abyss black, just ‘any’ black would do !

In my few months in game i have yet to come accros a black dye… which is very fustrating for my Thief :-(
And they go for 6-8 gold on the trade post !!!

I do like the TA armour, shame no one on my server is running the dungeon :-(

Im looking for armour advice for my sexy female human thief..
I want something sexy but stylish (The duelist armour is a little too skimpy and i do love the T3 human armour but no funds to purchase..
Maybe a combination or armours? and advice?

Im a relatively new player (about a month into the game) but when i played the starter areas (human) where were usualy lots of people around so the world felt alive..
I went back tonight and it was literally empty… (No one to help kill the spiders, help the farm, help the dam etc…).
Anyone else noticed this?

Well, like i say i do love the new Dungeon and don’t mind the Grind for the new gear (Hell, i’m still mostly in Rares) so gives me something to go towards, but making you ’’need’’ the new Agony runes for the future Agony dungeons/content gives me little/no choice but to gring for it :-(.

I feel this release/Patch/upgrade content has been been released too soon and should have waited maybe a year after the game release.. so most will have Epics and maybe opened several dungeons/event to give out Agony gear (i do feel this is too soon for this type of expansion, especially around Christmas)

Logged on for a few hours of fun and after 45 minutes of looking i got together a Lev2 group.. The dungeons are great fun and quite a challenge and ended up Lev 3…

Sad thing is i feel like i am neglecting other parts of the game with Focusing on FOTM, as i feel if i don’t do it then i’ll be excluded from the newer content when it is released in future (no doubt will all be agony based) and while i am happy with my Rares/Exotics and have no desire for better stats i know the ‘agony’ stat will be something everyone will needin future content.

I did not rush to Lev 80 and Exotics because i knew that i would always be there but i feel if i don’t rush for fractals i’ll never find a lev 1-5 in a few weeks/Months then i’m buggered!

I can see in a few months time …

I really hope it does not come to this as i do love the dungeon but not want all my play time there…

PS, This is not a Whine about a higher Tier of Items but the fact FOTM is the only place to get the agony items which i have no doubt wil play a big part in the future of GW@

Well, the armour i am wearing is the ’’Duelist’’ Ninja looking armour (was a choice between that or the Whisper’s armour as all the other Medium armours are variations of trenchcoats) whish look good but not suit my DB Jumpy acrobatic Thief.

The two Daggers which look good (from what i have seen) as as mentioned… Moonshank and Usoku’s Dagger (which looks like a Sai)

I’m looking for a good ‘Assassin’ style short bow and Dagger skins for my Thief…

At the moment i am using the Whispers Shortbow which looks ok but not really Assassiny (Word?) and i do like the look of Usoku’s dagger/Moonshank but both cost 7-10 gold each :-(

What do you use on your Thief?

Hi, i see people sporting some amazing looking flaming weapons and armour and wondering where they get them from?
Exotic craftables from the mystic forge?, Dungeon weapons/armours?

As a new player (month into the game) i have many goals to achieve in GW2

1, Get into Exotic gear (currently in Rares)
2, Do the dungeons
3, Find a friendly non-eliteist guild (on Ghandara)
4, Explore the wonderful world :-)

5 – Now that another tier has/is being added, it does not greatly affect my game style and progression into the game, i just see it as something i can work towards as a long term goal .
If someone wants to grind the dungeon straight away so he can get the geat to allow him to kill Risen/Ettins etc… a few seconds faster than me then all power to him/her.

I have an exotic carrion amulet with an emply upgrade slot…
What can i stick in it? i tried putting in a crysolla jewel but it would not go into the amulet (but went into my rings ok)
