For WvWvW ? What are peoples thoughts? I know Condition has a bad rap due to stacking…

Just tired of always seeing GS/Mace, Hammer or Axe builds in WvW (Which I mainly do)

Check EVERY SINGLE SERVER… both EU and US and none, not a single one has the temple uncontested!!!
It has been this way for days and as it is the only place to get Cavalier Exotic trinkets I find this hugely annoying.
The fact that EVERY single server has it contested must tell you that something is wrong and has to change?

I need the trinkets but sadly my home server is always 100% contested :-(

Is it Feasible? With maybe Rabid armour?
Can someone who uses it in WvW please give me a build? Really interested in trying it out.

Recently (over the last week) I have seen an increasing amount of warriors using 2 axes, both on my server and the enemies…

At first I was a little amused as I had heard they sucked… then a small group of 4-5 Double axe warriors were tearing whole zergs a new one !
No idea what build they were/are using but I have to say I was very impressed (goes back to his warrior) :-)

Back from a 6 month break and wondering where best to hunt for gold/loot?
I used to farm/hunt around southsun (is that still feasible ?)

Using Soldiers Armour+Weapons with trinkets leaves me with pitiful Crit Damage and Crit chance !

I can exchange all my trinkets for Berzerker trinkets (Would this be better for roaming?) Or stick to all Soldiers for the Tough+Vitality?

6 months ago (I had a full zerker warrior) the healing signet sucked as the heal choice, but having read some of the patches it seems the healing signet got a boost!

So is it worth using?

(I will be WvW mainly)

I found a good WvW hammer build using a sword/Whorn + Hammer
But confused about why sword?
Mobility?
So you use the hammer for stun and damage then the sword to escape/movement?
Or stun with hammer and use sword for damage? (Wouldn’t axe be better? )

New to the build and confused…

Looks great, Yeah i’m new to the whole ‘Hammer’ build so unsure what was good or bad.

So, how do I use this build? Stun with hammer then switch to sword and leap+slash?
(I was used to just running in with axe)

I had a 6 month break from the game, came back and the warrior build I was using seems now to be trash :-(

I like the Whorn for the Locust swarm speed boost but would the Focus offer more in WvW small scale fights?

It was the Conditionmancer, then the Wellomancer and for a while it was the ’MrFreeze and Terror builds …

At the moment with all the recent changes, which is the most effective build (from experience) for W3 ? The ‘Terror’ build still effective? Or back to Powermancer?

Mainly for WvWvW

Back from a long break and decided o dust off my Power necro with the following build

Spite 30
Death magic 10
Soul reaping 30

My basic tactic is to use spectral grasp, then dagger 3 then wells (finish off with either dagger or change to DS and blast them)
My armour is mainly Knights with a few berserkers and Ascended bits’n’bobs thrown in.

My question… now could I improve this build for what I want to do? – when it works, it works excellent, but if I miss, or they dodge the wells, then I am little more than cannon fodder :-(

All advice appreciated :-)

After a 6 month break I have a few questions…

1, Achievement chests? What is the deal? i have 4k points, how do i convert them into chests? can i ?

2, Fortune scraps? Where is the person i am supposed to give them to?

3, Southsun cove? Where is it? The waypoint is gone and when i try to go via boat in LA it took me to a strange area with people running around like headless chickens!

Been out of the game for 6 months, just come back and before I was using a Wells – Power Necro (Ok but not great).
I’m wondering, with the recent changes, what is an effective build for the power Necro? Any big changes I should know about?

Maybe think outside of the box?
A rock could -maybe- bleed dust/small particles etc … or maybe bleed a magical essence linked to its life force?

This is a Fantasy world, so attaching real-world limitations is pointless.

I feel bad for our players when they follow a Commander who either doesn’t have a clue or the ‘Commander tag’ gives him a Napoleon complex.
If you can’t earn respect, then best for you to leave your tag off (Then both parties happy) :-)

Saying that, Gandara ‘does’ have some very good Commanders who make the game fun and know how to get the best from both organised and pug players.

You obviously don’t realize that WvW is about taking points. It isn’t PvE. And sPvP is boring as hell to me, so no, I won’t.

I don’t know why they are there, and I really hope Anet will remove them asap so we can get rid of the people who kill the Champs.

I agree to a point … Maybe totally re-structure WvW to make it more fun for everyone (Maybe give points for killing a Champ in an enemies area) to stop Commanders whining or only make Commanders effective only to their guild (to stop them relying on the casuals they so despise).

Shockingly, there isn’t always time to have a committee discussion about whether we all feel that stacking up is what we really want to do and having a vote on it. Seriously, “bark out orders”? What exactly else are you hoping they do? Hold a kittening seminar?

I want a little more than some ‘I paid 100G for this tag so you should blindly do what I want-when I want’ Which sadly makes up the majority of Gandara Commanders, and then they moan why no-one follows them!
I guess the ‘Commanders 2nd’s (Such as posts above) will continue to fawn over them declaring that if we don’t follow them blindly then we are somehow not playing correctly!
And as for the ’PUG’s don’t matter’ comment… Then don’t moan when PUG’s do their own thing (Such as fighting the Grub) Simple :-)

WvWvW is PvP AND PvE – I play a lot of WvW and often get bored with the ’Follow a commander to chase the zerg, capture a tower, then leave the tower to follow zerg again- enemy re-takes tower, so follow commander to re-take tower etc … ’

Fighting the Champs in WvW gives a break from the tedium of fuelling the egos of arrogant commanders.

Sub – categories to classes at the beginning of the character creation to add more variety and builds.
Warrior >
Duelist
Barbarian
Swordsaint

Each one would have it’s own trait list to emphasise how you want your character do be (Barbarian would get bonuses to 2 handed weapons+burst damage, Duelist would get parry skills and quick-to-hit skills etc…)
This way you are not choosing just a stock generic warrior with limited ability for customisation (and role play).
This could be added for other classes too (Pet less Ranger, pyro Engineer etc…)

I don’t mind the builds, I just wish there were more viable builds… Been so long since I came across any other Ellie type other than d/d

I love the game (mainly play wvwvw) but getting rather bored with the limited class/build selection as well as limited armour selection.

Basically now it comes down to playing a certain build (or maybe 2 builds if you are lucky) to actually be effective (d/d Ellie, trap ranger etc…) any other build and you become nothing more than cannon fodder for other guys using these builds.
I know it is human nature to gravitate towards the best build, but sadly the ‘best’ builds so outclass the other builds that it leads to little or no variety.

(Observations from wvwvw as every elly I see is a /d ellie, 95% thieves are d/d, Mesmer confuse build) I just wish there was some viable alternative builds as fighting the same skill set/build time after time reeks of poor game design.

Imho – Berzerk gs warrior for pve/dungeons
D/D ellie, Mesmer, Guardian for wvw

I have a power Necro, Guardian, d/d Thief and Warrior at 80, all in exotics and am a little disappointed at how easily I get my kitten handed to me in wvwvw on my warrior compared to my other classes.
On my power Necro and Guardian I especially seek out warriors on the battlefield as they are such easy pickings – once stunned or crippled it’s basically game over for them.
I have tried many builds and had some success with a Hammer build (found the vid/build on youtube) but again once cripple/imobalised you are crow food)
But they do excel in pve, so I guess all is not bad.

:-) Well, at the mo I have all berz armour/trinkets + divinity runes but I do worry i’ll drop like a sack of s*^&% to anything more than a stiff breeze. But then, having knights would reduce my damage output… ummm

Yeah i’d be missing out on power but I read that glass cannon warriors die too easily, and using food I can make up the power deficiency .

I’m making an axe warrior for wvwvw and just need a little advice on build/equipment

Why has the ‘No line of sight’ problem not been addressed?

So tired of defending a tower and because there is a 2" lip I can’t target the attackers below yet they can easily hit me!!!

At the moment I am playing a d/whorn powermancer and having fun but not having much success 1v1 or small groups (large groups I spectral walk into the middle and drop wells) and saw a guildie play a Cond mancer and drop guys 1v1 and sometimes 1v2/3 so wondering of the viability of a cond mancer in wvwvw.
And if viable, what sort of build would I be looking at? Rabid gear? sceptre/dagger?

Will GW2 ever get a monk-style class? Unarmed combat?

Many times I have been manning an arrow cart or cannon then suddenly some other guy on our team comes along and takes over control of the equipment.
How does this happen? are they the original placers of the equipment (so they can kick me off)?

I must admit, a lot of my fellow gandarans need to grow a pair…
So many times I have gone into 4 on 4 fights (or what I thought were 4 on 4 fights) only to see the 3 Gandarans running away leaving me to die!
Do we really need to outnumber the enemy for you to grow some and fight? I just don’t get it.

Currently we know that ascended gear is rolled out through various means, of which laurels is only one. I don’t expect laurels to be the only source of ascended gear but rather a secondary route as seen with the earrings/rings.
For all we know, the primary means for getting ascended armor might be WvW.

I guess you are part of a Large guild or a fractal hamster ?
Maybe time for you to take off the rose tinted glasses? if the Asc armour is rolled out anything like the trinkets then unless you are part of a Mega guild, Love mindlessly doing Fractals then Laurels are the way to go (which Is ok and I can work towards what I want).

Saying that, maybe Asc gear in exchange for honour tokens could work :-)

To be honest I do understand a little where the OP is coming from…
Lets say he loves WvWvw but takes a year break… Within that year Anet roll out ascended armour bought with laurels, so with dailies everyone gets suited up.
Op comes back, no laurels to buy new gear leaves him at a far greater disadvantage in wvwvw (asc armour and trinkets will make a difference). So, seeing as he can’t play effectively in the part of the game he likes he may aswell delete game and move on.

Hi, i’m new to the Mesmer class and wondered about the F skills and which ones to use?
I come from a warrior where I only use the F1 skill… Do Mesmers use all their F skills? or does it depend on which build you use?

Why do some professions have ore skills than others? I am talking about the F1-4 skills?
Guardia has 3 (virtues) Mesmer has 4 yet my poor Necromancer and warrior has 1 f skill …

No, I mean a decent pull skill… Spectral grasp fails if the target coughs, farts or smiles…

Just fought in W3 and groups of Mesmers using a wall skill which works like spectral grasp only far far better…
Why can’t we have a skill like this?
