above post is sound advice. I would suggest greatsword for some fights even if you’re learning because it makes them much easier (e.g. subject alpha in coe p2/3) because the evade on whirlwind is really helpful.

I also don’t really see how the 30/0 is better than 30/25 for newbies, because both can be used with pure axe. banner CD isn’t amazing IMO, I find that in a large number of dungeons there’s enough time gaps between major fights for banners to go off CD. you should really just be using it for boss fights; there aren’t that many major trash fights where banner should be up, and if you’re doing more casual runs not having the buff won’t affect you too terribly.

Do you have any good builds for me? :P

I think either 10/30/0/0/30 or 10/30/0/30/0 with Phantasm build will do the most damage in dungeons. But which one is better or rather what are the pros and cons?

I know the Illusion build will give you more sustain damage and distortion on demand, while the Inspiration gives a lot more utility and more instant burst damage and more HP hence survivability

And also, sword vs pistol for offhand?

Working backwards, 4pm west coast is when East coast prime starts (7pm on east coast) and would be late of EU. (I know Brazil gets to fit in there and I think one of us has a decent Brazil guild, or used to). So hack 5 to 6 hours off that and your talking 11am to 10am west coast.

Is this the magic window we are talking about 9am west coast (server time) to 10-11am?

Again I realize that with the recent time change, it may be all off an hours if we are comparing to West coast, but I think server time remains unchanged.

Basically when ZD logged on with 60+ members, it was about an hour after OCX and an hour before EU, so ZD gotta do whatever they want with no resistance, notably flipping all T3 and raise PPT gap by 2k

This is what most of us meant when one guild completely turns the tide of the battle

Yes, but isn’t after Oceanic and before EU exactly where SEA is? All the Asian guilds? I know SOR has guilds that don’t speak English, that cover after Oceanic and before EU.

Basically anyone who speaks Russian, or Mandarin, or Korean fit into that “After Oceanic and before EU” zone.

BG will rise up and win even though they are under manned compared to JQ and SoR and even had Anet rigging the schedule against them.

Even though their match history shows that out of the last 14 fights where they went up against SoR with a server other than JQ they won 13. But BG still posted that SoR wasn’t gonna be easy weeks for them.

And then they made that post on when they buy guilds its ok to justify stacking against SoR who they already won 13 out of the last 14 matches.

So lower servers will stop bleeding and t1 server will stop getting stronger and stronger every day, giving a chance for lower server to rise too

I think the only reason I would like holy trinity is more epic world boss fight and raid

Before you flamed me, let’s be honest you only need as much as 3 Mesmer for the zerg of 60 people, Mesmer Clones die too fast = no damage, GS damage is crap, Staff is bad, only Sword is good but it is a melee weapon and obviously a cloth class will get kitten in a melee train

They are good for creating chaos in a small group, but not zerg

Nothing to do with same guilds being completely abusive and horrible toward players on any SoR WvW maps who aren’t in their guild, otherwise classed as “pugs”.

People are leaving your server in droves not because you were beaten by one single guild who transferred from Europe, not because BG fought hard continually even before that guild transferred here but because your community on SoR is rotten to the core.

Other than a complete disbandment or transfer off, of some of your most abusive and rotten guilds, your server is and will continue to destroy itself from the inside.

If SoR as a server is to be saved, it’s about time all of those “pugs” or “rallians” on your server finally stood up for themselves and demanded equal status and respect and do their very best to get rid of the abusive guilds who have ruined their WvW gaming and are intent on destroying the server itself.

This is sad but kinda true. The SoR WvW community is very unforgiving to new players. Many guild commanders tag down and run tag-less an yell at PUGs who wants to join them, you cannot just assume that everyone has been playing WvW for 300 hours. The new achievements which attract PvErs doesn’t really help either

This is truly sad if true, but I can guarantee it is not true with my medium sized guild. Yelling at or abusing any player should not be allowed.

Lately some nights we run with our commander tag down because we found as soon as we put it up we got ambushed a lot—had nothing to do with non-guildies running with us—but the enemy had an uncanny ability of knowing where we were when we ran with tags up. Once we dropped them we had a lot more fun.

Before then it was still pretty good most people was very nice. But when the achievement hunters come for season 1 and SoR started losing badly, many commanders lose their cool

I think you’ve got the jist of it. Here is a link to something I posted about IRON back in May. It was easy to find because it’s on page 1 of my “highly rated” posts (whatever that means).

Discounting the power of player morale in this game format is a recipe for frustration.

About BG buying guilds, people with different perspective have different opinions on this

Obviously BG, or anyone, wants to win, so they will do whatever it takes to win as long as it is not cheating. In sports we see people trading players and buying players all the time, it’s normal

But from SoR point of view this act is very pathetic, basically using gold to win instead of skills.

Let’s be honest watching GvG is 1000x more fun than the boring capture points. If Anet really wants esport that much then they should implemented this. It’s not even that hard to create just make a room and let people fight each other to death.

That’s why you tried so hard to keep JQ in check, making sure they were third and didn’t truly mind BG taking the one spot the first week, right? Gotta love it. Both BG and SoR 2v1 JQs because we know JQ has 3 easy weeks, that’s why BG and SoR pushed JQ to 3rd place. We focus JQ not because they are stack, it is because JQ has easier weeks

BG on the other hand, keep buying guilds again and again. But who cares it’s a war BG has gotta do what they gotta do to win

Many people just give up. SoR NA prime time always work their butt off getting WPs and T3 and close the PPT gap. But after 8 hours in OCX and then ZD got online we lost all our T3 again and BG widens the lead by another 5-10k.

• Signet of Inspiration – Grant swiftness 100% of the time when out of combat
  Why: Mesmers is the only class that lacks some reliable Swiftness, pls pls pls Anet

• WvW only – Increase Phantasm HP by 10% for every 5 nearby enemy players next to the Phantasm
  Why: This change will not make roaming Mesmer any stronger, so there’s that. We all know Phantasm Mesmer are really bad in Zerg, hopefully this will help somewhat

• Staff #1 – Increase projectile speed and make that projectile more visible
  Why: Unlike the laser beam from GS, Staff autoattack just doesn’t feel like it does anything, most of the time I don’t even know if I am hitting the right target or not.

• Sword #4 – Instead of sending the clones toward the target, it will now instantly appear next to the target, like Focus #5.
  Why: There are so many issues and bugs with this skill. Most of the time you port to them and they still arent immobilize, or port you underground. Pls anet

• iMage aka Torch #5 – Just do something with this skill D:
  Why: Every single Mesmers agree that this skill is the worst skill in the game for Mesmer. It is even worse then some of the clones D:. It supposes to be a phantasm, pls anet just do anything to it, anything

Do not build cata in karma train, it is too kitten slowed. Just build 1 to 2 regular ram and just man mode the gate, much faster. You guys will have the supply. Kill gate, not wall

If you guys see that you are too fast, stop building ram. If too slow, build more ram. Be flexible
