Almost every single popular streamers have quit GW2 to stream some other MMOs because there is simply nothing to do (docgotgame, chemsorly, nike, phantaram, mattvisual, ,…). Now even WoodenPotatoes is considering leaving the game.

It is the company policy to never real anything in development, even if the majority of the WvW players hate it they will release it anyway. For example: EOTM, SMC Airship/Chilling Fog, Dragon Banner, Stability changes, Desert Borderlands, etc. All these changes hurt WvW terribly but it doesn’t matter if players don’t like it because they have been developing it in secret for a year. Not only we got 0 in contents it hurts WvW even more

Before HoT, dungeons were extremely popular and even though they were completely ignored by Anet for 3 years, people still do it daily, a good casual contents to do with friends, a great way to help new players gear and get used to the game, and even after 3 people still figuring what is the best composition/strategy for each dungeons

Now no doubt the rewards for dungeon before HoT were too efficient. It was the primarily way people earn liquid gold in the game.

I’m not asking for Anet to support dungeons, as I said earlier it was completely ignored by Anet for 3 years, there are countless bugs, exploits, some paths are not worth doing at all for the amount of time it took (SE 2, HOTW 2 3, TA aether, etc), similar to high level fractals these day.

You don’t have to support dungeons Anet, but you didn’t have to KILL it. You basically removed it from the game. Most people will never touch dungeons again. Why would you spend years developing contents that most people enjoy doing then just completely kill it?

Give people reasons to do dungeons again, compensate the rewards that have been nerfed to oblivion. Obviously don’t let dungeons give a ridiculous amount of liquid gold like before, instead you can do:
- Dungeons give more tokens now depend on the path
- Dailies for finishing dungeons just like Fractals dailies
- Give different materials as reward, especially ones that required to craft ascended equipments (silk, ore, woods, leather, etc)
- Golden Fractals weapon treatment, when you combine an existing dungeons weapons + mats = new color weapons (red AC weapons for example)
etc

There are so many ways you can compensate for the rewards nerf of dungeons, I’m just asking please Anet, don’t kill you own contents.

While $50 is not a huge deal for most people, I think that we should let ANet know that we, the GW2 players that have supported the game for the last three years should be treated at the very least as equal as new players

Now don’t get me wrong, most classes right now are viable in PvP, and imo the mix zerker and mix cele meta are a lot better than the old bunk meta. But after almost a year playing it, it gets really repetitive and boring. It is not so much about balancing, it is about keeping the game fresh and interesting, making people try more things.

You keep giving us small but irrelevant things, nothing big that makes people want to innovate or make people excited to play PvP again. Tournament is not the way to go because it is still just the same game one year ago.

If you look at League, they got a balance patches that pretty much completely shift the meta every 3 weeks, and it keeps people on their toes, keep the matches fresh and not repetitive.

Anet you can’t just give us 1 balance patch a year, it is just not going to work. Blu/OE, probably the two people that believe in GW2 PvP the most, have already moved on because of the slow, stale, repetitive states PvP and no communication from Anet.

We want new meta, we want new things, we want to be excited to play the game again.

Finger pointing a few things:
- Cele Engi
- Shoutbow
- D/D Ele
- DPS Guard
- Thief making Mesmer useless in teamfight
- Immobilize jumping bug and immobilize and a condition in general
- Let us do something while waiting for queue (hotjoin, duel, etc)
- Leaderboard fixing needs to happen a lot faster instead of every 6 months

Please Anet, update PvP a lot more frequently and communicate with your players about it

It’s a bit ironic that how he kept on bashing the boring Berserker Meta while if you watched the videos we can see how boring the “tank meta” would be, there would be no need of reflects, no need of dodges, no need of stealth, half the GW2 mechanics would be dumped down the trash, everyone just run full Nomads gear and facetank and outsustain it, absolutely no risk.

Or he would rather do the Holy Trinity where the tank do all the work and 3 DPS just spam 1? Because that would make PvE a lot more fun right

No. It’s grinding for a reward that keeps a lot of people playing, be it in dungeons/megabosses or any other kind of PvE content. And the living story is great and fun for more than 30 min for me at least

This focus on dungeon is just the legacy of classic MMO game design model. You should not it obscure you.

As for PvP : is that creating multiple tournament series not enough ?

TL; DR : the more the devil has, the more he wants.

Im not sure about you but everyone I know never ever wanna redo the Living Story again. Only about half or more do it again for the achievements, but then bye bye never touch it again. Not to mention there’s also a ton of people who doesn’t even touch the LS

PvP has been the same since launch, there’s no new game modes or maps (PLS don’t say skyhammer), the ladder itself is broken, 4v5, if the game itself is not even interesting to play who would watch it #esports

GW2 is getting stale because the good replayable contents have been played for 2 years, all we get is 30 mins of facerolling in LS which requires no skill no depth nothing. LS is cool but it shouldn’t be the primary content that Anet focus most of their resources into. Dungeons, PvP, WvW, and possibly raid, is.

I get that people dislike Living Story.
But can’t you at least be truthful when you complain about it?

There have been multiple maps added in sPvP, they have also revamped the whole reward system and added the reward tracks.

WvW have gotten a completely new map with new systems, a completely new progression system which is still added to. Changes to the borderlands maps also happened.

Dungeons: New dungeon was added, and have since been updated with both new rewards, new instances and new systems. They have also added a new path to one the old dungeons and completely revamped another one of them.

Sure, you can dislike the current direction of the game, but completely ignoring stuff just because it doesn’t fit in your argument won’t really help your case.

WvW right now is almost exactly the same as WvW 2 years ago. And no WvW players do EoTM, EoTM is all katana train, up levels and ex frostgorge train

PVP maps they removed one map and add one map. The one map they added is only available in custom game for some god reason

Dungeons has received 0 loves or than bug fixes. The one TA path they added was frustrating for most people and it was a failure since the only reason to do it now is for dungeon master

I’m not saying they completely ignore it, I’m saying they added so little contents over 2 years because they focus all their energy in LS. Not to mention there are like 2 balance patches a year and there are no signs of new classes or new mechanics any time.

They invest so much time in LS imo they should focus back on the good contents that gw2 has to offer. I’m saying this because so many of my friends already quit because of the same stuffs in 2 years and those staying are only for the guild and the community.

Ignore PVP, ignore class balance, ignore new modes, you can’t have esport PVP if the PVP right now is boring and broken

No new dungeons, no new classes, no new mechanics, just the same dungeons and same Zerker meta for 2 years

Ignore WvW, WvW right now and 2 years ago are almost exactly the same

Anet you guys ignore all of those contents and in return we get Living Story. Living Story is cool for the first 30 mins, then you realize this is just temporary stuffs and not quality stuffs. It has little depths and doesn’t promote a community, doesn’t promote any depths.

WvW was done right, it is amazing but after 2 years, it gets boring. Same stuffs and nothing new, no rewards for playing WvW

Dungeons community obviously is also a big part of GW2, DnT speedclear tournament reached 1k viewers on twitch few days ago.

PvP you guys try to promote it to be esport so much, but with little class diversity, boring game modes and like 2 balance patches a year, it’s not going anywhere if you guys don’t improve it first

People complained about capturing skills around the map. they added the trait system.

People complained about AC. they reamp the dungeon.

People complain about not enough dungeons. they added a path to atherblade path

People complain about WvWvW. They added EOTM.

There is a reason about I say most complaints I can throw out the windows. The fact is that when people say they want something. They always want a specific implementation of it rather than an interpretation. There is a reason why I say most people’s ideas are terrible because they are incomplete. Anet can add another dungeon and people will complain. As much as I agree Anet should add more fun content, dont just complain. Be constructive a little more constructive.

Living story is no where near the world, it’s basically just a bunch of quests/hearts every 2 weeks

New trait system is very badly design, people just end up paying the gold anyway

The aether path was 1 year ago since then there has been no new content for dungeon and the path is frustrating and not fun to play

EOTM is not wvw, it’s a map for karma farm, for champ farm, lvling. It is not WvW and it has no impact on regular WvW whatsoever

I love GW2. IMO it is the only game that give me the exciting when I first played WoW years ago. GW2 is a great game and has a lot of potential, its combat is arguably the best out of any MMORPG, its leveling is great, and its massive WvW mode is amazing. It also eliminates a lot of bad things from traditional MMORPG and a lot of ground breaking innovations.

However,

After 2 years, the 3 main game modes for GW2 (dungeon, PvP, and WvW) which contains most of the population for GW2 had have no real updates.

We sure received a lot of QoL changes for PvP, EOTM for WvW, and 1 extra path for dungeon, but that’s it. And these changes aren’t even that much, GW2 WvW dungeon and PvP right now compare to 2 years ago are almost exactly the same. As much fun of WvW is, as much fun as FGS spider queen down in 2s is, or killing people in hotjoin with hambow, after 2 years it gets….stale.

Most of the content releases in the past 2 years are in form of Living Story. And as much fun as Living Story is, it is not a sustainable healthy content. It is boring after 10 mins . World boss is broken in the fact that it’s not “world”, people still join specific overflow so the idea of “anyone” can participate is flawed.

Anet is pretty dumping most of their resources on Living Story, sure it is cool but it just so bland. People always end up coming back to do dungeons WvW PvP after 30 mins on Living Story and never touch it again. I personally have never seen anyone excited to redo the LS they just do it for the achievements. It is a boring and brainless with no skill requires content. It is not even good for playing with friends. Tbh dungeons and WvW are the main reasons I’m playing this game, because they are extremely good content which you can play over and over a lot. And I’m sure most people will agree with me that Anet should focus more on WvW PvP and Dungeon rather than Living Story.

Please use your advantage as GW2 has some of the best combat system and expand on it by developing new mechanics for WvW, modes for PvP, or new dungeons etc

Living Story is a mistake, it is not what most people want. We want update contents on Dungeon, WvW, PvP, new classes, new mechanics, constant class balances, etc Make the game exciting again, wow all of us with your new innovation again, please, no more Living Story.

Even T1 are desert now. WvW has been the same ever since launch, no significant change or anything that give us the “wow” factor. There’s no good reward for playing WvW a lot, Anet doesn’t support GvG even though it has 1.3k views on twitch earlier today.

The longer it takes for Anet to give WvW the attention it needs, the more players they will lose. It’s not a massive exodus but it’s a slopey downhill atm. WvW is bleeding and it needs some huge update, give us something new / exciting please.

HOTW they changed the old troll into AC troll

Give us something new and interesting , all these recent changes like EOTM or account bound WXP are just like quality of life improvements, WvW is extremely fun and I love playing it but it does get a bit stale after a while.

A big change not only will keep the players fresh but also bringing back some players. I know a lot of my friends have stop WvWing because it has been the same for 1.5 years now.

Maybe new sieges, new mechanics, new maps, new objectives, new terrains, etc

Speaking of the recent updates of the Wardrobe, give WvWers some unique cosmetics items that shows you are a WvWers if you look at them.

I know they nerf the direct money from the champ bags, from like 7 silver to like 2 silver. But they did buff it by letting magic find affect champ bags ( more mats, especially t6), so would those balance each other out? Does champ farm still yield approximately 8g per hour?

I actually enjoyed PvP a lot. Especially when i played with guildies and friends. Sure the balance isn’t perfect but so is other popular esport like Dota or LoL. Plus you can always reroll to another class.

If anything I wished Anet adds more game modes soon like deathmatch or something like that. Playing the same game mode for more than one year does get a bit tiring xD.

Easy way:
- Do all the easy dungeons path ( cof 1, AC 1,3 , CoE 1 2 3, etc )
- Orri farming, make sure you choose an easy map, check gw2 nodes
- Champ farming
- World boss

Average 7g per hour

Hard way:
- Find a partner, practice Arah, sell it. 10-12g per hour
- TP flipping. Depends on how much you flipped, this is the best way to make gold if you are good at it

Random incomes:
- Craft ascended stuffs and sell it
- Invest in things you think price gonna come up after patch then sell it

- Best way to get Ascended Ring
- Decent way to get T6 mats
- Cheapest way to get 20 slots bag
- Fractals exclusive skins
- Tons of rares
- Decent way to get Ascended back piece
- Decent gold earned, not best, but decent

And last but not least
- Lots more fun and dynamic than dungeons ( cept Dredge)

If you are doing Fractals for gold, you are doing it wrong. That’s what champ farm, dungeons and TP flipping is for.

Let me give you the real world version of his post:

Fractal skins border on precursor drop rates.
Ascended Chests border on precursor drop rates
Terrible way to get t6 mats
I’ll give you the ascended ring part
Most time consuming way to get 20 slot bags. Anyone could craft them in 1/100th the time it take you to get enough relics.
Terrible gold making
Some rares
Easy back piece.

You get some rewards for doing them – but after you have the back piece and ring set there is absolutely no reason at all to ever go back.

Fractals even 49’s and 50’s aren’t hard – they are simply a longer dungeon which requires a gear check that takes more time to complete and drop crap loot.

And what I mean by Fractals skin is that you can only get Fractals skin from doing Fractals, thus making the rewards better

Agreed. Discussing the fact the dredge is frustrating and takes a long time barely helps the process of Fractal evolution beyond the idea that people dislike long time gates. Dredge can be fixed to the liking of players and devs alike, getting there should be part of the evolution of fractals.

One topic I’m not sure if someone has brought up or not, but would solve some of the rewards/currency issues players are having:

A vendor that gets unlocked after completion of the final Fractal. This vendor has things that can be bought based on the difficulty that has been completed, and bought using fractals currency primarily (depending on the value of the item.) As an added way to make it interesting, have the available wares vary depending on what fractals people ran through especially the first one.

Pie in the sky idea: Sell stat infusions from these vendors, or dye kits to color existing fractal weapons, or some other way to show prestige from completing difficult content.

The concerns, comments and feedback surrounding Dredge are something that we are well aware of. Thank you very much for giving us further insight into this area but our time as a CDI on this topic is better spent elsewhere.

If the Dredge issue is “well aware”, why is that it haven’t been fixed? Even worse, the recent patches fixed one of the Dredge skipped and make Dredge even harder.

Dredge is scaring and discouraging a lot of players from doing Fractals. The longer it takes for this issue to be adressed, the more people will stop doing Fractals.

Fixing Dredge should be a top priority right now, more important than rewards revamp or Fractals evolution.
