I actually like leveling in GW2.
No offense or anything Knighthonor, this is all just biased, as is a ton of other posts on the forums. I get what you’re saying, but don’t try to force your opinions of what should or shouldn’t happen onto other people who don’t feel the same way…just saying.

My perspective – As an elementalist, my choices are berserker, soldiers, or valkyrie. Right now, valkyrie is moderately useable with berserker’s or barbarian’s jewel. With valkyrie’s jewel and 30 points in our vit trait line – water – we have less than 14000 health. If you’re an ele with under 15k health in spvp, you may as well consider yourself little more than dead weight. Getting rid of jewels is going to make valkyrie’s amulet less of a viable option, to the point where I may not even consider it. That’s not something I’m happy about.

Use the Demon Masque for charr (you have to have the right face, or else you’ll look silly.) It looks awesome, or the Fanged Dread Mask looks great too.

The CoF shoulders are pretty good. Also, if you wear the Hellfire Vambraces, with certain chest pieces, the HF vambraces will look like fiery Exalted Gloves(Outrider gloves in Pvp)

How long would it take to clear the undead blockade of ships still off the coast of Claw Island to make way to Cantha (hypothetically)? And also, how long would it take to purge/purify the entirety of Orr?

Also assuming that after the remaining of Zhaitans ships are dealt with, it would make for possible travel to Cantha/Ring of Fire if Bubbles didn’t decide to come up and say hello…

I’ve seen axe used a lot in Pvp. It’s still a very good weapon of choice. I don’t know how you’re saying that it’s nonexistent.

When I first got GW2 at launch, I was wondering if you could stay in 1-2 attunements only, but you won’t be very effective at all. It’s nothing like the GW1 elementalist where you could specialize in only Fire, or lightning(air) or Water or Earth.

Lyssa Runes is a good set, but like others have stated, it’s dependent on the skill cool-down and not as much the effect itself.
It’s just completely stupid when your elite has something like under a 60sec cool-down and people have relied too heavily on that being their only condition cleanse, which is sad.

Overall, the nerf IS needed imo. And besides, at least the Sigil of Purity is changed so that it doesn’t rely on critical hits anymore (or is that the sigil of water I’m thinking of?)

When you’ve just been downed and you’re trying to rez yourself when you’re being attacked, your heal is interrupted and it’s very difficult to try to revive yourself unless you have a teammate come to rez you or try to anyway.

How about when you’re being cleaved in downstate, your heal cannot be as easily interrupted, but it still has a chance to be interrupted. Then as soon as you have teammates come and revive you, your heal returns to its normal function.

I think something like this would be nice if you were outnumbered on a point or wherever. Also, the downed state bandage skill should have a 3 second cool down rather than 5. (It shouldn’t be coming off its cool down when you enter downstate)

Okay, imo, Kralkatorrik is the largest Elder Dragon.
We don’t really know how big Bubbles is yet, just based on the concept art there is. To me, he looks more like an Eel-ish seahorse XD (appearance-wise). But it is a little unnerving that when he awoke, it startled the Karka, Krait, Largos and Quaggan from the deep. That’s just about the only information there is about him, unless it mentions more in the GW2 books.

Mordremoth sounds really strong based off something…I read about him…somewhere…If i could find it…

How come the Steamspur mountains are kind okittenwardly inaccessible? What I mean is that it’s kind of surrounded by Mount Maelstrom, Timberline Falls, Lornars Pass, Bloodtide Coast, and Sparkfly Fen…

Surely it’ll be opened in future releases. But it’s just in an awkward place that should have been explorable.

Well, I don’t think I’ve said it yet, but I don’t think the deep sea dragon really poses any threat to Tyria so far. He only scared off the Karka, who now are just kinda doing their now thing on that island in the Sea of Sorrows.

and also, size doesn’t always equal strength But with all the information there is about the Elder Dragons, we can use that to determine how strong or capable they are of causing destruction

Can you please stop asking about mounts! It will never happen. GW2 does’t need mounts at all. It’s perfectly fine without mounts. WoW has all the mounts you could ever dream of!

Let me say again that mounts would only add to more screen clutter and then more lag for everyone. You don’t want more lag. Imagine how hellish it would be in WvWvW when you saw everyone on mounts

I’m aware of the magic flowing from dragons when they sleep, however I did present my idea badly.

We know that when there is no more magic for the dragons to devour present, they fall into slumber. We also can assume that them waking up is a result from high levels of magic in the world. What hasn’t been examined is how they notice the difference in the amount of magic.

The easy answer would be that they just sense it, because magic. However, we’ve recently seen Mordremoth waking up as a direct result of a surge of magic through the ley line straight into it’s mouth. Also, the magic the dragons exude while sleeping seems to radiate out of their bodies, instead of flowing along the lines. So, from these points, I draw that the dragons are not the source of the ley lines, and that they slumber in places where the magic naturally flows through in order to wake up when the meal is ready.

Well the Dragons seem to act more like conductors or rather, vessels for the energy that runs through Tyria.

Is it smart to kill the Elder Dragons when they rise? (just bear with me here)

I know that when they awake, there’s going to be some outstanding impacts on Tyria from them. However, it is their natural job to help keep the flow of energy balanced throughout. What will happen if/when all the Elder Dragons are dead?
Will Tyria be able to survive without them? or will the Asura build something in place of the Elder Dragons that will help maintain a balanced flow of magic without the rising and destruction part

okay lets see if I can recall what I was saying…

crap…well, I think I remember the last thing I was saying: With all the Elder Dragons gathering magic during their sleep, are they aware of each others’ presences in the world? Can they sense where the magic is flowing and how much of it goes?

When a dragon wakes after consuming magic, it pretty much releases all that magic back into the world then returns to its sleep right?
There’s bound to be a time when the remaining Elder Dragons will awaken after consuming all the magic there is in the world and arise at the same time. Then Tyria will pretty much be reduced to almost nothing (if I’m understanding that correctly)

Are they also aware of when the flow of magic is interrupted?

Great…i was just about to submit all these questions I had about the elder dragons and the magic they consume from Tyria etc etc…but right as I hit Post Reply, i had to reload the dam page and lost it all >_<

About Kralkatorrik, how long has it been since it fled to the Crystal Desert?

Roughly 7 years. He woke in 1320 AE and fled to the desert the day he woke up. It is now 1327 AE, though still early in the year.

Is there any more information about the whereabouts of Kralk after he escaped to the crystal desert? I’m assuming the last ones to see him are the Order of Whispers.
I’m really interested as to why or how the Whispers are the only ones who are/were able to maintain their presence/travels in the crystal desert with both Palawa Joko’s and Kralkatorrik’s (assumed he’s still present there) forces throughout the region.

its so rare for that to happen during a duel though. The chances are so unlikely. You’d have to be dueling near some mobs. but yeah its pretty funny

well, Tengu were really only a pain in the Shiverpeak Mountains and other high level areas, which made them more difficult to fight. And of course Hard Mode doesn’t make it any easier. I hated fighting the dwarves a lot and also in the other expansions, especially in Cantha, they were harder just because there were ritualist and assassin tengu as well…so yeah

Personally i’m against any more beast races, since they would only make it even more complicated to create new armor sets because of even more clipping issues.

yeah, the armor clipping issues would be complicated to deal with if Tengu were playable. There aren’t really too many Tengu npc’s though, and I haven’t seen them with a whole lot of armor.
Even the Hylek have a decent looking set of armor for them, but I really don’t like the look of them. Koda wouldn’t be too difficult because they use the same model as Norns.

I agree with bullyrook that Primordus has been at it more than 200 years and consuming magic longer than Zhaitan has, like Konig stated above.
Primordus may be a smaller Elder Dragon, but size doesn’t necessarily make you weaker. Since he’s been gathering magic longer, I’m assuming that makes Primordus something of a ticking time-bomb. Continuously gathering magical power/energy.

anyway, I just want to say to Sundar, what exactly do you mean by “strongest”? Do you mean the most influential dragon? The most physically powerful/durable?

So, the Deep Sea dragon has pushed out some incredibly strong enemies onto Tyria, and as everyone knows, they were quite intimidating, and because of this we can only imagine how bad the deep sea dragon is. (however Bubbles doesn’t really pose as much of a threat that Zhaitan did or any of the other dragons do currently)

Zhaitan was just more of a commander-leader type dragon ( although he did corrupt the orrian civilization and all that) and he was incredibly influential.

Though little is known about Mordremoth, i’m gonna say that Primordus may be the strongest Elder Dragon, just because he might still be gathering energy ( I haven’t really read more about Primordus and whether or not he’s still consuming energy)

That would be cool and awesome, however, lore-wise it wouldn’t make sense for the Tengu to come out due to Zhaitan’s rise and his massive army of undead, especially Claw Island where you try to hold off against tons of Risen, the undead ships that rise up, and especially Blightghast (Tequatl look-alike.)

Same goes for Scarlet’s Invasion on Lion’s Arch and how the Tengu were on high alert attacking and killing anyone or anything that came near their gate. Yeah it’s over now, but there’s still the threat of the Destroyers and whats left of the Risen to deal with before the Tengu will/might consider opening their Dominion of Winds to the rest of Tyria.

What if all your CC abilities were disabled on Skyhammer and instead they only dealt damage alone and not the CC?

launches, pulls, pushes and knock-backs are the worst on Skyhammer (including fear).
I don’t think stuns or knockdowns are nearly as frightening because it just leaves you in place rather than sending you flying off the edge. Sure your opponent could lure you over to a glass panel and stun you on top of it, but it’s a little less BS than anything else.

But like every1 else, i agree it shouldn’t be in solo queue at all, because as soon as people see it, they instantly switch to troll mode… :P etc etc.
