When season2 starts, I want to be able to still see the fissure that the energy created across the zones that were shown in the last cutscene…
These two should kiss, i mean goodness …they act like a couple.
good god…i don’t think anybody would want to kiss a mouth full of those massive, terrifying razor sharp teeth! Brahams mouth would get all torn up at least, if not completely torn off lol
also, I’m pretty sure that Anet never stated they would introduce a new explorable zone with these last few living story patches…and after watching the awesome cutscene, it looks like theres gonna be 3 new explorable zones.
And also, the environment IS destructible. Do you notice how in parts of Queensdale and Kessex Hills, Harathi Hinterlands, whenever you fail to defend a camp from an enemy invasion, they almost destroy it and the tents are on fire and some buildings are completely ruined. Also, in Kessex Hills, I’m pretty theres an event where you have to stop either the krait or centaurs from bombing a town
far shiverpeaks, Woodland Cascades, Blood Legion Homelands possibly
Not every1 will get the chance to play through the living story stuff and it does kinda suck. I haven’t been able to GW2 at all. not even a little bit for the last couple months cuz of school and all that…but I’m really not that angry about me not being able to play. I try to catch some Twitch streams when I can and catch up on whats happened through there
That last cutscene was amazing! like, i don’t know how to put it any other way. it was fantastic. And i also liked animation interaction between Kasmeer and Delaqua, not just because ya got 2 chicks kissing’ each other right there XD but honestly, it wasn’t just the normal animations that you’d see from an average scene. The motion between Rox and Braham could’ve been something like that because it did look a little awkward. but then Kasmeer and Delaqua just took the cake lol
am i overthinking it? its never too late for something unexpected to happen.
its not just the retaliation. but i guess its not nearly as bad as using Fiery Rush and eating a load of retaliation.
yeah, i guess ur right Mr. runeblade
that would defeat the point of retaliation. i just want whirling axe to be useful, like every1 else does. so sad
Is she really the main focus here, or is she just really good at distracting us from what’s REALLY happening?
Here’s what I mean:
She invaded the Queen’s Jubilee, and her Watchwork minions attacked Tyria for a REALLY REALLY REALLY, incredibly ridiculously over-extended amount of time…like for how long we’ve been putting up with her nonsense, is just ridiculous, AM I RIGHT?!
She’s been gathering aetherblade, krait, Watchwork, molten alliance and all her allies for the invasion on Lions Arch and tomorrow we’re all going to fight in hopes of driving her forces out and we’ll find out what she’s been after since all those thumper things appeared across Tyria. We also know that Scarlet has been contacted by either the Pale Tree, OR one of the Elder Dragons (most likely Mordremoth at this point) and she is after the power/energies or whatever that are beneath beneath Lions Arch. She wants to do something with them that relates to Mordy.
Now, as we’ve been “focused” on Scarlet and her invasion on Tyria for the last…too long of time, her stupid invasion has us all running around where the most action is, like insects being attracted to the brightest light source. (couldn’t think of a better analogy)
While Scarlet has us focused on her shenanigans and possibly Mordremoth, there could be another force plotting something out way out of reach, because as of the moment, we all need to fight for Lions Arch. Scarlet could have an unmentioned sister or another accomplice to carry out some kind of plan that we’ve been unaware of this whole time.
And what is the plan? That’s the thing, we might find out after it’s been completed…
Think about it:
Scarlet Briar distracts everyone by invading Lions Arch and drilling into the harbor while her unknown accomplice is carrying out the master plan.
Boom, roasted!
:P
While channeling Whirling Axe, you are immune to Retaliation!
What we need is to find Scarlet standing above a well or pit or something and we need someone stealthy to put a Kick Me note on her back and she’ll say “what was that? who’s there? Huh? what’s this?…Kick Me?!” and one of us will Sparta kick her and everybody gets precursors! happy endings!
Think about all the water that will drain from harbor and down into the hole where Scarlet is drilling :o We could walk where the old lions arch is, and more!
Im such genius. Much intelligence. 5M4RT!
increase the number of strikes by 10 and increase the spinny speed.
increased radius to 180 from 130. Prahblam Salvd! Now u can Spin2Win!
No. That’s not the Ferocity that everyone is talking about. the personality thing has nothing whatsoever to do with the critical damage change. Two entirely different ferocities…
Critical Damage being changed to Ferocity will mean that in Pve, your critical damage will be changed to say something like Ferocity “X” amount instead of Critical Damage “X%.” The stat will pretty much be the same, except for a 10% overall reduction in the critical damage that you can do, and it won’t be a percentage anymore.
Make sense?
Come up with new metas and force them on everyone lol
Start a new warrior might-stacking meta. Use Discipline I (mighty defenses) with Short Temper (Strength iv) and 6 runes of the guardian. make it work somehow.
Start a new warrior meta.
The maintenance build is March 18. That is when they’re removing glory from Pvp and all that. The big feature build will be after that because as every1 knows, the Battle for Lions Arch is in two days, and after that, Anet will take a short break and then the feature patch will go up and then they’ll kick off Season2 living story
CC has no condition removal limit. It will wipe every single condition, and you get a bonus heal for them all. However conditions are pretty lax in PvE, you’ll be fine in general without much removal.
Don’t even need vampiric rituals, WoB has (I believe) the highest possible heal of any skill in the game (both single target and AoE) with enough healing.
thanks, and will Ritual of Life proc the bonus from Vampiric and vampiric rituals? just curious
actually, water is good if u take the trait Piercing Shards and 1 of the arcane skills to set up a decent burst in water if your target has vulnerability. It’s especially good for using the FGS’s fiery rush while in water
Also, if you use Signet of Restoration with Frost bow auto-attack, will you get healed from both Water Arrow+ the heal from SoR? assuming you’re near the target when Water Arrow hits…
in pve, would this be a better heal than consume conditions, depending on the situation its used? But i’ve always been used to taking CC just because of the short cool down and the condition removal it has. Is there a limit on how many conditions you’re healed from if u use it?
Weakness should reduce your outgoing condition damage or the duration of it since conditions generally are thrown around so easy and stuff.
I set a trap and caught a mouse in my kitchen, and turned it into a half-mouse half-cyborg and it targets things for me in-game. My keyboard is actually one of those Bop-It Extremes and a joystick for movement. My skills on the Bop-It are Spin-It(dodge) Bop-It(auto-attack) Flick-it(#2) Pull-it(#3) Twist-It(#4) and my jump button is on the joystick and my #5 is controlled by my cybernetic mouse
What would you think if there was Zenith armor skins? Or does the Zodiac armor kinda fit with the Zenith weapon skins close enough?
Also, with the Zephyrite Helmets, it’d be really neat if the Zenith weapon skins had the Zephyrite Lightning and Wind colors/effects on them that you could pick as well.
I just wish that the Zephyrite Helmets wouldn’t look the same on every race :/
They’re pretty flashy and it would be cool if they didn’t all look the same on every race. and I realize that the Zenith skins and the Zephyrite helmets are from different patches, but since they look alike, I was thinking that it’d be cool if the Zenith weapon skins too had the different effects
GW2 may not be for every player and that’s fine. But for those who play it and then later give up on it and bash on it, just leave. Find another game to play. You don’t have to post about how it wasn’t what you were hoping for or that you felt it didn’t go anywhere for you etc. Just don’t complain about it. Just go and don’t waste your breath posting about the “grind” that GW2 “has” that you forced upon yourself. Yes, grinding in GW2 is self-imposed.
…
I noticed that the healing power and power conversion bonuses from Runes of Exuberance are set back to 0 when you trait Great Fortitude with it. And also, you don’t gain the vitality bonus from by Signet of Might OR Banner of Strength. is it not supposed to give the bonus from increased stats?
Do you think that Daze currently is alright, or would you change/add something to it?
I’m just gonna go ahead and say this, though I really shouldn’t…being dazed in GW1 meant that your attacks were easily interrupted and spells you cast took twice as long to cast.
yeah, i compared it to GW1. whatever.
Anyway, most of the Control effects interrupt your target, which is great and all, but their functions are too repetitive.
Knockback-interupts and knocks back your target
Knockdown-knocks down your target and they can’t move or use skills
Launch/blowout-interrupts your target and launches them in the air
Daze-interrupts your target. They can move but can’t use skills.
Stun-stuns your target. they can’t move and can’t use skills
(im skipping sink and float for now)
the reason why I chose daze is because when dazed, you can still move around of course, but what if it was changed so that their skills and attack speed were slowed by X% for a few seconds?
Or is that a dumb idea?
for a second, i thought you said “23k karma from events”
i’ve only found a picture of something that looks convincing enough to be a dragon finisher, but it could be fake… https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/125424/dragonfinisher2.jpg
looks convincing tbh…but meh
Mending is an “okay” heal, as it heals for a base of about 5200 health and removes 3 conditions on a 20sec cd, which isn’t too bad imo, but its’ heal is lackluster and i’ve even heard a lot of people suggest reworking it to function like Ele’s Ether Renewal.
i know I’m not supposed to do this, but w/e… http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Mending
OR…this just came to me: make it like necro’s Consume Conditions or slightly reduce the base heal and add an additional effect where you are also gain health for every condition on you. (doesn’t remove them though) Something needs to be done with mending.
oh dear god no. If you want Confusion on your target, just take Corrupt Boon and/or Well of Corruption and runes of perplexity. If anything, condition damage overall needs to be toned down a little bit, not just by necros, but every class.
a necro can slap down roughly 10+stacks of bleeding along with poison, chill, weakness and cripple with little effort and pretty much call it a day. (slightly exaggerated)However, what I think would be better is if Spiteful Spirit (spite V) got buffed by a couple seconds or so. Its true that Well of Blood is also a 10 second light field, but necro has only 2 “reliable” blast finishers (staff 4 and Necrotic Traversal) So, retaliation would be something that I might vote for on necro, but not confusion
Confusion is more at home for the necromancer then retaliation. If we look at the history of the necromancer that is. We used to have multiple ‘confusion’ like skills back in gw1. Spiteful spirit, Soul Leach, Insidious Parasite, Spoil Victor, Cacophony, Price of Failure and Depravity if you want to count that last one even though it doesn’t actually do damage. It was both surprising and upsetting to me when I started GW2 to find out that we didn’t have confusion as it was one of our primary means of damage back in GW1.
Usually I refereed to those types of skills as punisher skills. Skills that are designed to punish action or inaction. Which the necromancer had a lot of those. The mesmer and the necromancer being the two primary users of punishment hexes. While the necromancer only has torment now as a punishment condition. Yet The only skill the necromancer had that was like torment was weaken knees. The Assassin, ritualist and elementalist all has similar skills but it was rather uncommon in the first game.
Retaliation like effects in gw1 were far less common. We wont count single hit skills that blocked one attack and was done as those seem closer related to aegis or block skills. Holy Wrath, Retribution, being the only true examples I can find. Although the necromancer did have enchantments that did cause problems for melee attackers, these were Tainted Flesh and Withering Aura.
The shift from a profession that punished foes regardless of who they attacked to a “attrition” profession who relies more on dots and generating a shield rather then utilizing punishment and life stealing has been a rather jarring adjustment.
I’m far more in the camp of giving us Confusion over more retaliation. However, like I said before, this isn’t a primary concern considering we have loads of other problems that really need to be addressed. Life stealing and Death shroud being major problems that should be considered before we get into this.
i see what u mean by that. But for how conditions are currently thrown around, especially by necro, people would hate even more on necro because currently, Confusion is a pretty powerful condition, even if you don’t spec for a lot of condition damage. I acknowledge your passion for the play-style of a necro back in GW1, i loved it too and the adjustment to GW2’s necro was something quite different, yet unique with Death Shroud and building life force for it.
I agree with you in the Life-Steal/siphon aspect, because it is a significant mechanic of the necro from GW1 that carried over into GW2, but atm, it isn’t quite so viable yet. But i think that we’ll see improvements to it after the feature update patch for sure. and death shroud also has seen some pretty big improvements lately
Try running into that barrage while you have 10+ stacks of might AND retaliation up. See what the tengu think then? XD
yeah there hasn’t been any1 confirmed to hit rank80 yet, but just because there isn’t someone who isn’t r80 yet, doesn’t mean that the finisher shouldn’t be out.
At least confirm that the dragon finisher has been made, or working on a sick emote for it. i mean cmon! :P

after escape from LA there is one more 2 week section then the end of LS season 1
following that will be a feature update (skills, traits, etc) then a short hiatus before season 2
alrighty then. at least i’ll be able to play after the feature update goes up. and that won’t be until next month for me :/ oh well
Dat. Is. 0P. O_O
how about m.h. sword/o.h.shield?
or mainhand torch?
2handed spear/lance or 1handed?
Shortbow?
When is the end of living story season1? how much longer until it’s done and there’s some new exciting story and new zones to explore etc etc.
sorry if i sound pushy and impatient. I know that we’re toward the end of it and about to wrap things up and all that, but just how much longer will it be?
how about in Diessa Plateau heavily congested with ascalonian ghosts and catapults/cannons?
You mean Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen? because HE was #1
why…
Here’s what I might change
Updraft – increase the radius/range to 300 from 180.
Earthquake – make it ground-targetable (450 range) and increase its base damage by X amount. (just so it fits the description of dealing “massive damage.” Ring of Earth does about 5% more damage than earthquake atm… not a big buff…but for how long of a cool down it has, it should be stronger)
Churning Earth – lower the cast time. maybe 2.5 secs or 2.75 from 3.25
Vapor Blade – lowered cast time to 1/4 seconds or insta-cast from 1/2
Dragon’s Claw – increase the size of each individual projectile and increase the range by 50…(maybe)
Impale – reduce cast time to 1/2
Magnetic Wave – functions as an aura now. Also dazes nearby foes for 1 second upon activation. (when traited with Powerful Aura, only the reflection aura is applied to allies. does not clear 3 conditions from allies)
Magnetic Grasp – changed the 2nd functionality to a pull rather than leaping to your target.
Freezing Gust – range reduced to 600 from 900. this skill now has a knock-back of 300.
Cleansing Wave – add a knock-back radius of 130
Burning Retreat – this skill now cures chill.
Swirling Winds – update so that it destroys all projectiles. Unblockable including.
Foes entering the area are inflicted with weakness and are crippled.
Glyph of Renewal – cast time reduced to 3 seconds from 3.25; Renewal of Earth’s radius increased to 240 up from 180.
Fiery Greatsword – update the auto attack animation to make it resemble the guardians Shield of Judgment animation or make each fireball hit reliably
I also hate how tough the chickens and roosters in Ebonhawke Stronghold are.
And the version of Tequatl that you fight on Claw Island that loves to spam that 20 second fear
Also, part of making armor look good on charr is which physique you select when making your charr. Usually u don’t want to look all fat and bulky which can make armor look bad.
Like Lokku said, it’s a mix of T2 leggings, not T1
the boots are Plated Boots, the chest is probably T3, so is the helm, and the shoulders are from Caudecus’s Manor (Noblemans Pauldrons) and i dunno what the gloves are
Most champs/legendary’s will usually be a pain. and also, the huge waves of ice spikes from the Claw of Jormag fight, that’s pretty bad too, so is the frozen de-buff that u get when ur close to an ice pillar.
The spiders in TA are also quite a nuisance
or you can pop into Lich form and increases the damage your well ticks for, or does that not work anymore?
Which are some enemies you find really annoying or hard to fight?
some that I hate are: risen abominations, risen giants, champion risen gorillas, risen knights and champion risen juggernauts, the risen orrian fish heads that have that AoE pull radius, shadow imps, and maybe oozes
