Are you guys (asking for mounts) opposed to having mounts with no speed increase? Because thats a much more realistic request to be honest
Ohh just for looks would be a fun option. Similar to the broom stick or magic carpet.
I’d want a giant turtle for the lolz. X3
I would love this so much!
It would make things a lot more fun. I made jewels with candy corn when I first started and I was soooo excited to see what they looked like. I was so sad to notice they don’t have an appearance what so ever. ;_;
Auras would be amazing! I like your idea!
Ouuuh or~!
Even if it was just orbs of light and rings of light around fingers. And you could use Transmutation charges to change the color by skinning “Sapphire Earrings” on our ascended for blue. Or “Tiger’s Eye” for Golden yellow.
That would make being a jeweler even more fun and useful!
I like mounts. I always had a collection of them in every MMORPG I ever played. Dragons, zebras, lions, pegasis, etc.
That being said I don’t want them in GW2. I can understand why some people would. For exploration and such. But that’s also an unfair advantage in a sense. Just buff that speed and run with a cute mini.
Have you ever noticed your Human Mesmer face everytime she uses an ability?
For example the first GS skill , take a few sec and zoom in and check your characters face.
If you cant let me show you…take a look at the screenshot….thats the reason i rerolled an asura mesmer and stopped playing my human.Except the fact she was dragging and lifting something that felt like it weight 69tons , she was heavily constipated while doing that too >_>Im sorry but im one of those that actually look at their character when they cast or move in general and i didnt like what i saw. Personal preference sue me. Asuras face does not change when they use their skills and they lift that Eternity like a boss on their backs w/o problems and go like "Go ahead! Hit me!
That is definitely Hershey Highway face. lool
After this most current beta I am really hoping for reveals to slow down again. I want the ones we already have to get the love that they need / deserve. I would rather HoT come out next year+ with classes that feel good to play + complete than have it rushed and a lot of love not have time to be put into elites that need it.
I hope the feedback we all provided was helpful to Anet and I would love to hear what they intend to do with it all. I love testing and being part of the improvements to take place so some kind of response would make my week!
Anyway, I know the hype is real and we all wanna know how our mains will change but I also want my main’s elite to feel polished instead of rushed. If I have to wait for that I am fully content and prepared to do so!
I can’t be the only one right? (I will now prepare myself for the beat down. xD)
You guys have it allllll wrong. That picture clearly shows that the Elite is the Wolverine Legend and he is in his new Glint-attributed costume! His elite skill will be “Call X-Men” as a shout and summons his old teammates for 30 seconds to attack by your side. The rest of the utility skills grant you different claw attacks.
Op. Nerf now! :O Self healing + summons + claws. Such broken.
I agree with you. I feel like we need to slow down on reveals and really sit down with Rev. It needs a lot more time and work. It needs more weapons and more utility choices. Mind blown you can’t even use your racial stuff.
I like Rev but at the moment it will not be my main. But who knows how choices can change if it gets s’more love.
@HB your syl is lovely. What face are you using in your screenies?
Also I think Syl are beautiful as they are now. I do wish for more face variations. Some more planty, some minorly less. But never losing the feel of a true Syl. After all that’s what they are o.o!
Most importantly I wish for more skin / bark colors. I’d love to see different shades of violet. Yellows with orange or pink aftertones (instead of the yellow-green ones we have now). And I don’t know if I just missed it but celestial white would be amazing. ^-^
More glow colors would be fun. What I wouldn’t give for a spectrum effect of colors passing through my Syl’s glow areas of many color variants x3
But some of the “carved from wood” faces have amazing character. The detail in them is really fun and with the right person in character creation can be pretty amazing in game. ^^
Thank you for the compliment.
I would love to see everything you said come to fruition. A celestial skin tone would be amazing.
I never thought of it before but you’re right about aftertones. My sylvari has a sorta pinkish aftertone, but more choices would be wonderful.
The year before this game was released, I was 100% sure I would make a human. During beta, I decided to make a sylvari out of boredom and I instantly fell in love with the amount of color options for skin, hair, and I geeked out over the glow.
That customization is what drew me to sylvari, and it’s definitely the most attractive race (in my eyes) for that reason. I would love if they expanded on that beauty with more options for us to choose from while still keeping the cultural flavor and theme of Sylvari.
So we had the same beta experience! I made one just for fun. Now I’m changing over from all human to all Sylvari. The story is by far the best!
The aftertones are usually my deal breaker when it concerns the bark / skin color. I love leafy green “hair” but when it comes to skin I don’t like the harshness of the green paired with a yellow base. Some variations of each skin color where green base could be paired with blue or violet. Or blue base with green. The list goes on and on. Those small details make a big difference to me. ^^
There is so much they could do with Syl’s customization just in colors alone. I am feeling that they will be adding a bit of stuff with HoT though. But even if they don’t I am so content with what I have now. All my humans had the same face so finding 1 face I love for Syl is just as good. xD
I like the 2nd face over for my Syl. Though when I bought a kit I adored the one with white speckled like texture on the face. It was adorable too!
You had me at remove 250 stack cap of account bound mats. <3
. . . I never had an issue moving my pet tablet. ;C

Mastery progression feels way too grindy
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: CandyHearts.6025
It’s not grindy at all. It barely took me a few hours to be able to glide.
The feeling of actually earning something is a good feeling I wish more people would strive for.
As someone only a few months into playing I must agree it was hard for me to start crafting. Once over the hump I was enthused to find things cheaper as I went along.
But I don’t think changing how drops work will add to the fun. I’ve stayed around lower maps while leveling because I could still benefit a little while I helped others. It’s one of the many things I love about gw2.
I’m still in the beta…
Tug me in with you. It’s cold out here. ;_;
If the content wasn’t challenging what would be the point, though?
I would say . . . when you’re worried about something being a bit hard just don’t go alone. Being in a group with friends or family will make any area easy and a lot more fun without having to ruin the experience for those who want the challenge and go solo. ^.^
Gliding unfun (exhaustion bar, immersion)
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: CandyHearts.6025
I had fun the moment I unlocked it.
Agreed! I love the gliding. Though a few times I died because I jumped right after I landed and my glider wasn’t fully ready to be used again. I wish there was some indication xD
BWE every weekend or riot! I can’t go on much longer . . . ;_;
I don’t know about flying combat. But it would be cool to have an add on that you can drop explosives while you glide by.
I also excepted revenant to be last one.
I actually thought they’d do it very soon after they finished it’s main legends. You can tell Roy has sooo much excites for the new class. I bet he could barely contain himself! xD
My guess is actually Druid being last. And Engi being next if not Thief.
I don’t know whyyyy. .-.
there will probably be more minipet collection sets
we have 3 sets so far but there are still plenty of npcs in the game that can be used for more minipet setsmaybe you are lucky and anet includes that White Stag in the next collection
Oh yay! I hope so! <3
I stopped playing MMORPGS for about 6-8 months at one point. Maybe a lot of others are like me about it. After a few bad companies ruined my gaming experience. I started to think there was no such thing as a good mmorpg. Not because of the game play but because of how it was run.
P2W models. Neglect of the game and players. Lack of communication. Being ripped off. The WORST customer support. Waiting days or even weeks to hear from someone about a ticket. Watching forums flood with unheard suggestions that never went anywhere. Being fed BS by community managers. Bait and switched. I mean the list goes on and on why I was very annoyed and put away my hobby for a while.
It’s companies like Anet that make me feel a lot better about my gaming experience. And this comes from someone who is far from a “white knight”.
I’m actually at the point where new games that come out? Whatever. Why waste my time when I can stick with a company I trust.
I don’t enjoy my Syl’s animations for basic attack with GS AA as a mesmer. It just kinda o.O bobs between my hands. But I’m not much of a stickler about it. More so the noise if anything. xD chinggggggzingzingzingzingshhpsshhh
You make me feel so tempted. I rarely read because I can’t stand sitting still that long but. . . GW2 stories are the best!
I hope there will be others who will love this idea as much as I do.! I would love to have a mini White Stag from Sylvari storyline!
I played Sylvari for the first time recently and after all that work and worry trying to rescue it . . .
I want it with me at all times! \o/
What about you guys? Anything from your favorite race’s storyline you’ve not seen as mini but would love it?
I agree! The art concept is gorgeous.
Oh my! I can’t wait until they show it to us! Is it time yet? >.< How about now?!
Nooooow?
I completely agree with everything you said, Silver! Great + Complete feedback. Thank you for writing it up!
Also, I did notice a lot of people didn’t enjoy wells but I loved them. I am more of a defensive player and I felt like I could be the class I love and play just the way I wished to with wells + shield.
It was a great beta. Here’s panting with my nose pressed to glass until the next one!
I agree with ranger. It’s very easy and collecting the pets can be fun!
Though at the same time in pve it’s a bit of a snooze. But that’s because I run longbow so its pewpewpew move onto next target.
My feedback~!
Longbow was a great choice for Guardian imo. The hype for it was very high for me. It was my first beta character! Getting into game I was excited. The second I shot off an arrow my excitement started to dwindle.
The AA is very slow. The animation of the arrow is even droopy looking. The damage isn’t worth how slow it feels. I would rather it never bounce what so ever and provide with a good amount damage.
the 2 roots me. Aye me… I already feel slow enough as a guardian. And I’m rather bored of always having to slot for Rune of the Traveler. If I invest in burst this root will be the death of me on many occasions. Traps around me or not. o.o
3 feels very . . . underwhelming. I would love to trade this for some instant damage . . . seeing as we don’t have any in the kit.
4. Love it. I love this skill! I don’t know why. Symbols always feel a bit meh but this one was fun for me. I like the range I can drop it down on someone with. I wish traps worked more like this.
5 on the kit . . . the cast time + delay + CC as the final effect? As someone who loves arrow rain effects this one just didn’t feel strong to me. I wish I could suggest something better but I’m just at a loss for it right now.
Traps. I love the effects on the traps (Minus Dragon’s Maw) but I hate the setup. How long it takes and how close I need to be for them to be effective. That aegis trap would be great to set up for frontline . . . but I’m supposed to be able to play backline now. I can run back and forth sure but I’m slow without rune of the traveler. Running speed for someone who needs to manage range is a big deal to me.
My wishlist for DH
Run Speed +25% trait
More synergy with traits
More synergy with backline play
Faster paced combat / damage
Instant cast on virtues.
Choice of which virtues we lose from Guard. Sadly I don’t really enjoy any of them minus the new block. I don’t want the leap at all. It’s just too short of a range to be useful to me.
The Final Word
The concept can be good. But it needs to bring more to the table. We don’t need it to be the best ranged option but it needs to be a tempting one. We are giving up blocks, blinds, holds, and what not (Scepter, Focus). And if we want to play from the backline we would be investing more into power, precision, and ferocity which means we would be taking a large dip in Vit and Toughness which means less survival overall.
Anyway it was a great chance to try it out and I’m excited to see how things change for the next beta. \o/
The concepts of DH are great. But its when its put into play that it gets sluggish and awkward. I am firm that if we could place traps like we do wells or kit 4 on LB it would enchance our backline play.

Gliders in EToM. Seas of red names fill the sky. No one is safe. xD
Please lets not rofl
Anet! Could you please up the difficulty of mobs? I am casual player who plays with a blind fold on and I found it way too easy. THANKS.
;D
lol Silv I already know you lied in your post over here about chronomancer to try to get nerfs
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Chronomancer-is-disgusting/page/2#post5364436
Give it up, and test the actual class more before you ask for nerfs instead of making assumptions and lying. lol, signet of illusions can be used on continuum split, your hilarious.
It would be one thing but if you look through Silv’s past posts; there are randomly always ones poking and dissing mesmers. Hard to take someone seriously when they got full case of mesmer haterade at their desk fully ready for posting.
Just lol.
Always look on the light side of life…
This high density of annoying mobs placed in choke points may open a new job opportunity for mesmers and now, thieves. " Sell invisibility from point A to point B, 2c. The train leaves in two minutes , all aboard"
Lol’d! XD Gun make it rainn! rofl
The good things.
1. The new map.
2. The masteries. Especially gliding! It was a lot of fun!
3. Having my character talk in the storyplot. I felt like I was a real part of the story now!
4. The day and night sequence!
5. Difficulty of mobs and even the mobs in the storymode!
6. Map rewards!
7. Chronomancer!!! <3
8. Map details. If you look around. . . everything is so detailed and beautiful. It looks like a map fully stocked with adventure and fun!
9. Speaking of adventures. . . Found some and loved it.
10. That adventures encourage masteries. Such as being able to use jumping mushrooms.
11. The time it took for me to achieve 1 mastery.
12. The frog NPCs.
13. The amount of bees that spawn xD
14. GLIDING! DID I MENTION GLIDING?
Overall there were a few hiccups this beta but I had a great time. Thanks for it! And I can’t wait until the next one! <3
dmg wise its on a way better spot than on the first beta, but imo it feels that needs atleast 1 strong spike skill to be fully complete. who knows, maybe Glint elite will accomplished this; what Rytlock used in the story to knock the rider off could very well be a spike dmg oriented elite, wich makes sense if you consider that the other elites do all but that:
Jalis: dmg reduction buff
Mallyx: stat increase and condi transfer
Ventari: healing and knockback
Shiro: AoE stun
Glint: single direct dmg spike(?)
Gosh I hope so. It really needs something. Maybe that’s it. But at the moment it’s just so incomplete feeling.
No ground targeting with traps means you can’t just throw them out there in a group. It emphasises more backline playstyle rather than front line or.. mid line.. if that makes sense.
The bow being 1200 range, wasn’t exactly meant to be used intermittently with traps. The bow itself is used to keep people at bay as long as you possibly can until they come close enough to activate your traps. That said, I do believe the bow knockback effect should trigger just a hair further because i’ve knocked people out of my traps before :p
but the traps dont support backline play they support running in with GS and placing them on your enemies feet for their effects to actually go off. Enemies often will side step them as well if you don’t do this.
I wish traps were set up similar to bowkit 4 / 5.
But that’s just me I’m sure. xD
Nah I totally agree, although more with a guardian releasing magic from their hand then the bow as obviously you wont always have a bow to ‘shoot traps’. Then again that would be a neat trait, if bow is in hand allows ground targeting and it fires light up wards, falling down to place the trap where you selected.
Yeah it would! If you could aoe place traps I would be cheered up a bit about this. xD Pewpew traps all over town. Yehhboys! xD
Boring ranger wannabe, as I expected. The virtues are especially bad.
It’s definitely a wannabe that’s never gunnabe at this point.
Ranger still so much more speed to its attacks and movement compared. And even more range.
I hate to say but it feels like a lazy redesign. :/
I agree. The sounds were the first thing i noticed.
[twang, twang, twang] I am so sick of hearing the twang of the bow!
Magical arrows require magical sound effects.
Yes! This!
I feel like even the animations could use a spruce up but. . . the sounds are the worst. Save them ;_;
Why do you expect it to utterly replace Scepter as a ranged weapon?
I don’t think anyone expected it to “REPLACE” anything but rather be a tempting alternative. And DH is not. It’s slow, clunky, and makes you a sitting duck. What did you give up to be said duck? Blocks, holds, blinds, . . . basically survival! xD
My feelings about this is “Well this isn’t the same but its pretty effective” should of been the feeling we got from DH.
Anyway, hopefully they will review the observations so many of us have made and fix it up. My hopes are that they will hold off moving onto working on the other specs until these are finished. Because imo 3/4 still need a lot of work.
Playing with it some more:
1) Traps should be ground targetable, because it doesn’t synergize well with the longbow if it doesn’t.
This. They want to give guards an option to backline but then what use are traps going to be other than a waste of utility spot? We’d be better off stacking full shouts for supporting other backliners. DH needs synergy with itself desperately.
I wish traps were set up similar to bowkit 4 / 5.
But that’s just me I’m sure. xD
Even if bow and traps were good I still don’t enjoy the trade off. Might as well not activate and pretend we don’t have f-keys xD
It’s a bit meh Rev can’t use that or any racial elites.
Not going to fill out my full observation of DH just yet but is anyone feeling that we could immensely benefit from finally getting a trait or utility with +25% movespeed?
It could be just me. Just in my opinion if you want to invest in LB play, you aren’t going to invest as much into VIT and Toughness. So being able to be more mobile is almost crucial to DH. This is just my feelings though so far.
I agree on the need for 25% ms too
Thank you! Say I want to invest fully into LB which means I’d go for more zerk. I’m such a sitting duck with being rooted and lack of movement speed compared to everyone else. This +25% movement speed for DH would make sense. A hunter’s prowl. It could easily be added to the traits. This would make DH tempting to pick up because we’d no long be that one class stuck with rune of the traveler.
To me and perhaps I am wrong in circumstances of DH. LB means kiting. We need to be able to keep distance from the enemy. Traps bait us to get closer. We need to be able to get in and out a lot faster. 1 600 range leap is SOME help… but not enough to provide valid archery gameplay.
Anyway I still can’t post much else about it. I just feel like it’s clunky, slow, and more slow. My impression is that we’d give LB ranger a fair contest but at this point it’s not EVEN a contest. DH needs a get well soon card. :/
That’s an absolutely terrible idea. You need to request something obscene or else you won’t receive it. Remember, craziness gets through, not reason.
DH should get +25% run speed only when they run backwards?
xD

I didn’t find Chrono OP. I actually just found it very comfortable to play. It brought me to use things I didn’t think I would and I got great enjoyment out of a new playstyle.
I feel like Chrono is very balanced, and the other new elites need to just get up to par.
I’ve never had this much fun playing though. I hope Chrono stays as much the same on live as possible.
Did anyone else notice that if you’re a charr or norn, your booty doesn’t fit in Overload Water?
XD
I am having this problem too. I logged into my beta characters and got my chest… my account says 2000 acheevos. I go into the live with my real characters and I can not pick up the box. >.<
