As you stated the main builds in OS are :
1. D/P Thiefs and other variants
2. Pu Mesmers
3. Nuke necros
4 .Condi warriorsI usually thend to change some utilities/triats before duelling, here are some builds :
Build against thiefs or any class who uses burst damage
Against condition based builds
Those are not perfect builds, I think there are better ones, but I can have fun in os with them… I would love an armor with stats Vit/Condi/Healing to have more chances to beat necros/ perplexity engi/mes/thiefs
Anyway it’s all about managing your evades/combo/pets, if you do it right you have a good chance of winning against almost every build ( there are some cheesy build i cannot manage do beat )
The thing cool about bringing my ranger in OS is that everybody wants to fight me, like a bunny in a field full of foxes ( doesnt happen with my mesmer XD )
Vitality healing condi dmg is shamans
20g ill be your friend.
Eles also have various blinds, perma vigor, and nearly perma protection. Warrior has one blind on a 20 sec CD. Sustain isnt all about healing. Without HS warrior has literally nothing AT ALL for sustain unless you stack healing power with vigorous shouts, which lets face it is terribad
Illuminati.
This isn’t available to watch on mobile :’(
Why not 20 tools for the utility/crit Dmg and the 33% reduction on cripple chill immob?
Because that trait is pretty garbage. 20 tools doesn’t really offer anything for a condi build
HGH rifle? Or SD?
Thank you very much. I knew there was a recent thread like this, i was just to lazy to look past the 2nd page lol.
What path would be easiest to solo then, p1 or p3?
Im starting to learn to solo p1/p3 and am just wondering what class would be the easiest for this. I currently have an 80thief/warrior but wouldnt mind leveling another class if it really is that much easier. Both are full DPS/meta
Definitely read this as well
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/GW2-Combat-system-101-Guide
Im assuming “dont use flamethrower” isn’t what youre looking for?
Can i have your stuff?
Use key binds. I have my f1 (warrior) bound to “E” so that i can keep my mouse on the person and just click them while simultaneously pressing E
Well sure, but what engi build has good condi clear, other than HGH?
Why not go 30/10/20/10/0 nades/bombs/EG with power shoes as your movement increase? Pistol cooldowns really a arent that great with shield, and even more so with 3 kits. O you can freely have perma vigor too
Lyssa, shadow return, withdraw, and #2 on sword
The tiny amount of armor you get from knights will still get you 3shot. Use active defenses like blinds, dodges, blocks, and interrupts instead of stacking toughness
Power HGH is good. There’s some videos in this thread, as well as just a lot of various info/debate about HGH builds.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/engineer/HGH-might-stacking-power-vs-condi
If you refuse to use bombs or nades youll have a hard time being very competitive, as a ton of our damage comes from those 2 kits.
There arent really any builds centered around TK or EG as theyre mostly just utility and support based. Not viable to use as a main weapon. Standard SD does use TK quite a bit tho, for the block (good cus your glassy as hell, pull, and prybar hits like a truck in a power build).
Turret builds arent bad because turrets or their traits are bad. Its just how theyre completely immobile and filled with bugs. I believe theres a thread with 30+ turret bugs, tho debs have said fairly recently their working on them.
Eh…. Not really. Gadgets dont really have anything going for them other than moderate CC, and you miss out on way to much taking more than 1 gadget in your build
The earliest is 35 i think, from the PS. You could wiki it, see if theres one sooner
Id assume it works the same way other transfer skills work, like plague signet. Pretty sure its your foes condi dmg
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/Learning-curve-for-sPvP
You don’t stealth as much as you would in WvW since stealth decals points, you still use it for sure, but you don’t spam it at every opportunity. 10/30/0/0/30 is pretty much the meta for any weapons. Your role is to burst down key targets and your extreme mobility allows for some awesome backcapping
(edited by Carpboy.7145)
The funny thing is that a p/d thief can’t apply 8 stacks of confusion since they don’t have an interrupt. You’d have to take offhand pistol for that, which is what the old thief perplexity specs did.
Unless of course he’s saying he took scorpion wire or tripwire, but I find that doubtful.
In any case, 11 stacks of bleed and 4 stacks of torment sounds a bit low for a cookie-cutter p/d thief anyways.
EDIT: Just realized you can probably just use basilisk venom for the interrupt. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that.
Scorpion wire, basilisk venom, and sleight of hand.
Actually all 8 can do that much in a second if they spec specifically for it, even though some of those specs are completely gimmicks while others are actually viable builds.
Errr, not for the ranger. I can think of just one ranger build with high numbers. And this build requires a norn elite. Furthermore it’s just one hit with 40secs cd. So it’s a hit-n-miss gamble. Otherwise the ranger can just outsustain his enemy.
Maul and axe #4 with MoC and signets
All those things you said are addressed in the thread i linked above.
Well cavalier isnt limited to hammer, and berserker isnt exclusive to axe/GS. Common runes for cavalier are lyssa, and common runes for zerker are melandru. Each set of runes makes up for what the gear itself lacks. So youre really just choosing runes. Cavalier/lyssa or zerker/melandru? Lyssa axe/GS is great with cav/lyssa, and hammer is great with zerk/melandru. Its just different playstyles
You can be a tree. One of the endless mystery tonics transforms you into a variety of trees differing in size and shape
Builds in my sig
Do you even lift? If so, how often? Whats your max?
Yeah, have fun charging traps mid-pull in a pug. It’s your funeral.
Exp is one trap and stack but pugs don’t even know how to reflect, so that’s out the window too.
I just think its funny how he put thief in the 5-8 second category. Ever been ganked by a 4 signet d/d thief?
All classes asura. Duh! T3 assurance also looks awesome with a rifle and SD build
Thief. Cus OP.
Thieves in spvp are all about high mobility, high burst, and ability to shutdown targets. D/p and s/p both excel at this (i personally use d/p, you just don’t stealth as much as you would in wvw). Trickery is also typically taken because bountiful theft is great at shutting people down, and sleight of hand is the only unstabiltyable interrupt in the game. Black powder pretty much shuts down any melee as well. You’ve also got a lot of poison so its quite a bit harder to heal up from your burst. L2 use active defenses instead of tanking hits. If you can’t win a fight, gtfo rather than having your team down one person and giving the enemy 5 points
Definitely try HGH nades if youve never run it then. Its hard to describe how quickly people will melt with 2100 power and 2200 condi dmg, with 50% crit chance (perma fury). You’re also really not all that squishy. Nearly 2900 armor, with perma protection, and elixir S for sticky situations
Every thief you run into, most mesmers, DPS guards, and power necros. Even warriors (tho “glassy” isn’t quite true there)
I can’t tell what you’re trying to do. Some sort of hybrid? If yes you need at least some form of might stacking, aka HGH. HGH nades is an absolute beast for small groups, since others can take the hits and you can just melt people from 1500 range
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/engineer/HGH-might-stacking-power-vs-condi
Dont use this in PVE at all
Why though
? Wouldn’t Torment-based damage omit the issues with condition damage builds?
Well for one how many mobs even move that much? You’re doing a lot worse dmg then you would just stacking bleeds, even if torment is a lot rarer. Condition dmg also just sucks in PVE, youre WAY better off just going zerker. Its great for WvW tho
Yes.
Mind posting your build?
Most likely 10/0/30/0/30 full dire, perplex runes
Dont use this in PVE at all
Thanks for the replies. I had never noticed the signets of power trait, I usually look right past signet traits in general though. Was hoping there was a more reasonable way to get this kind of damage than a build like that =P. Maybe I’ll settle for a bit less spike and put some real utilities in there.
This what most thieves run in WvW, d/d or d/p doesn’t matter
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/Roaming-thief-build
25/30/0/0/15 d/d all signets with signets of power. You have sbsolutely no escapes or staying power so its oneshot or die. Precast CnD from 1500 range then hit steal and backstab
Not viable for WvW other than ganking noobs or people not paying attention. Youll also die A LOT just looking for that one guy to gank
(edited by Carpboy.7145)
You can’t cap points while stealthed. That means for every second youre in stealth on a point, the person youre fighting is deccapping it. Which means theres no real reason for you to be on the point anyway.

Change the food to omnom berry ghosts and youve got extremely high sustain, really great dmg, tons of blinds, blocks, and dodges for defense, and soft CC through hydromancy sigils for chasing/sticking on people, and teleports with sword and JI to either get away or chase.
(Dont use hydromancy/energy until the March 18th patch. 2 on swap sigils are bugged in that one will put the other on CD, without getting the benefit of the second. Just use energy/accuracy for now. Should give you plenty of time to get the gear anyway)
Whoever told you condi warr sucks is an idiot
The reason engis are good is say you don’t have might/vuln stacking. Well engi can do that. Say you don’t have reflects or stealth for skipping. Engi can do that, with the exact same build that can stack might/vuln. Engines can fill literally fill every single gap you could have, which is why they are great for PVE. Mostly pugs tho, because a fully maxed speed clear group would have someone a lot more specialized for each of these roles. But what makes engi unique is that it can fill any or all of these roles if need be, just not as well as some of the more specialized classes. Which is fine. That is our niche
