Wait, what? They’re changing something about Imbued Diversion? That’s not what it does now – now, it makes your interrupt shatter (F3) hit 5 targets instead of 1 (so you can interrupt as an AOE with F3 shatter), but that’s all it does.

Thats not even close to what it does… All shatters are AoE to begin with. Just read the trait description

You can race there at the start with SB, and leave sword#2 as far off point as possible. If its just 1 guy you should try and burst him down, however if another guy shows up or you start losing the fight either shadow step towards home or use sword #2 again if IR is still available. From there go help out at home and whenever you know or have a hunch there is no one at far, or theres a squishy class you know you can kill then go for far again.
No. Unless youre roaming then your gonna be running meditations anyway so its that or merciful intervention

I havent done any math (frankly because i dont know how) but it just seems logical that with the nerf to crit dmg semi tanky/semi dps builds will fall even more short
If anything all this patch does is further force everyone into full zerker. Now everyone has to be full zerk or the difference between DPS will be huge. No more hybrid DPS/tanky builds, and you won’t be able to carry bads any more

Its somewhat useful just to spam it with restorative mantras since it has no CD

Its great in late game PVE. Some of the highest DPS in the game (second only to ele) perma blind, perma weakness, and stealth for skipping. But you’ve gotta remember the thief isn’t meant to be a buff/support class. You can’t compare it to guardian
With the new traits coming on the 15th ive thought up what i think could be a really powerful frontline build for mesmers. Imbued diversion+new dueling GM+masterful reflection. Basically, mesmers just became amazing in a zergs frontline and in havoc groups as well. With no ICD this could be almost permanent.
What if you get a 5+havoc group with full zerker just looking for massive zergs. Once you kill just one guy (easy with 5+ in full zerker) youd become this unstoppable, invulnerable, reflecting, massive dmg dealing ball of death. With only 5 people. (Hell, you could do it with one) once you kill one guy the effect just kind of keeps snowballing. I think if you coordinate well this could be really powerful. Since once you kill the first guy you can just use the distortion as a free stomp against any other dead players, which just increases the time of distortion, which lets you kill even more players. And multiple mesmers with this?

Once you kill one guy…you’d have 3 seconds of distortion. That doesn’t last very long.
Yeah, but then another guy drops, then another, and it just keeps snowballing until theres a dead zerg
At 15k HP with decent armour and no significant amount of healing power, you’ll melt like a snowman in summer while roaming. I’d recommend less power and less crit and invest more in healing power.
Guardian roaming builds almost universally rely on sustain through healing while bashing your enemies in the floor with mobility weapons such as the GS and sword.
Not at all. Heal way is the only roaming build that stacks healing power, and it sucks for roaming. Sure you never die, but you never kill anyone either. Monks focus heals a lot especially with smite condition on a 16 sec CD. Trust me, you definitely don’t lack any sustain
I know Anet desperately wants condi guard to be a thing, and i think after this patch it could definitely be viable. Doom sigils/perplex runes, with 30/30/0/0/10 mix of rabid/carrion. Dont forget retaliation is basically a new condition unique to guardians now with 30 radiance. Its also unclean sable and punishes a lot for multi hit attacks/fast attacks

A 30/0/20/0/20 axe/Sh+GS full cavalier build with the new sigil of intelligence looks insane for roaming. Definitely an awesome trait.
Im curious how burst precision works with combustive shot. New hambow build? GS/LB could also be really powerful
Idk. With the new guardian traits condi guard could definitely be a thing, especially with doom sigils/perplex. Their burn is getting huge DPS increase, and retaliation would basically be another condi with the trait in radiance. Could work out with a mix of carrion/rabid
I feel like theyre trying to push engis onto being supporty turret semi bunkers in spvp. Kinda like spirit rangers

Try this. Basically just weapon swap off CD to get evades and initiative.
You can’t make Sw/p a stealth build. You need offhand dagger or d/p. but you can definitely use the same armor, just chane your weapons and traits

Yes axe 5 can do decent dmg, but its channeled over like 3 1/2 seconds so its actually worse DPS than just axe auto, even with 5 targets vs 3 targets
I think the new SA trait could be something like lowering the duration of revealed, or giving protection when revealed
Cavalier armor lyssa runes, zerker weapons and trinkets. Foods are truffle steak and maintenance oil

You guys dont get it. On a Sw/Sw condi this is an awesome trait, swords are where the majority of your DPS comes from. Granted condi is the only thing really good for this trait
You should always cleave. Every single melee weapon cleaves. That person was an idiot and i advise you to not take advice from them again

That thief one….omg sustain out of stealth! 0/30/0/30/10 Sw/p with assassins reward new meta. Calling it now. Hell even a d/d backstab build with 0/30/20/20/0 seems really powerful, but it does compete with hiddenkiller so…That mesmer one tho….locking someone out of a heal for 10 whole seconds? For just 1 interrupt? I have a feeling that one will get nerfed soon. Warrior and guardian in particular look very lackluster. +300 stats? Only 10% increased attack speed? Cmon these are GM traits.
This has me really excited tho to see the rest of the trait lines

I have a theory behind why theyre doing this, and its similar to their, one click, one action macro rule. In other games, the casual/noob players didnt use macros which put them at a severe disadvantage when fighting a good player. This is their reason for the one click one action rule, they want everyone on an equal playing field.
Now with the current way crit dmg is, certain prices of armor and ascended trinkets have way more %crit dmg per stat than other pieces. Min/maxers and theory crafters make great use of this. However to just the casual player, who doesn’t visit the forums or any other external sites this difference between crit dmg on various pieces of armor wont be obvious at all to them. This puts them at a disadvantage when fighting someone who has gone over their build on a build site and min/maxed every single piece of gear. The casual could have more skill then the min/maxer, but could still lose because he doesn’t know about the crit dmg discrepancy. They want everyone on an equal playing field
You could argue im wrong and that this is just to nerf PVE, but all this will do will make encounters take longer. Zerker will still be the best option for PVE, they haven’t done anything to change that. In fact running a full zerker group will be even more important because everyone will do less DPS so people can’t be carried as easily.
HGH builds or SD builds are the only real viable “non kit” option even tho they almost always have 1kit. Just using your weapons won’t get you very far, mostly because our autos are so weak
