Guardian (surprisingly, I don’t usually like melee), flamethrowing, bomb dropping engineer and well necromancer.
Possibly not the most efficient builds but definitely fun for me.

Count me in with the casual players. I have one character at 80 in exotics from the TP and at least one character of every profession. When I get on to play I choose whichever one I feel like (currently switching between Necro, Ranger and Engineer as whim dictates).
I have yet to set foot in either dungeon or fractal although I’m mildly curious about the story paths of each. I have not yet joined a guild but have been giving it some thought lately. Mostly I roam around whichever region looks interesting at the moment with whatever character sounds fun, joining DEs as I run across them and helping out anyone that seems to want/need it before wandering off again in some random direction on my own.
I keep discovering new little bits of terrain or story, learning more about how different professions can work together and finding little bits of things that make me smile. My long-term goals at the moment are 100% map completion and having one character of each profession at 80. Clearly that’s going to take awhile but I’ll get there eventually and hopefully have some fun along the way. That’s the point of playing a game, after all.

Just proves the old saying: “On the internet no one can tell you’re a cat.”

As of this moment:
80 Guardian
72 Necromancer
61 Elementalist & Warrior
43 Engineer
41 Mesmer
Ranger, Thief and additional Necromancer are in the 20-30 range but will probably get played before the Mesmer does again.

The only other one I can think of is the one in western Kessex Hills that the Seraph and centaurs are always fighting over. When people did those events on a regular basis the bridge used to be continuously broken by the Seraph, but these days it seems to be mostly whole and in centaur hands.
Sadly, since I didn’t see the Manifesto, I don’t know if that’s the one you’re looking for.

They were still up in Wayfarer Hills on Darkhaven as of last night.

Suggestions to Anet:
While I think that Anet did a fine job with the Flame and Frost story arc, there are some things I think they could have done to make things just that much better.I suggest that they provide an open world alternative alongside any content like the Molten Facility Instance in the future (so you could do the dungeon and/or you could do an open world event too; each would have a unique spin, but both would lead to the conclusion of the story arc). One example of something that could work alongside the Molten Instance, would be to have an large scale invasion event that players repel (maybe like a wvw sort of thing, but players vs the molten alliance).
Also, one design choice that would have been nice for similar events/arcs in the future would be to have the option to obtain a soul/account bound version of the jetpack by means of tokens (like the SAB skins).
I like this suggestion. Something like this would make the content available to all types of players, both the dungeoneers and us open-world types. Would be even better if the two iterations of the ending were not mutually exclusive, rewarding those who did both with some extra subtleties of plot and maybe hints of future events.
At least then those who, like me, did the events leading up to the blow-off solo would find out how the story ends. As it is, I won’t. And that’s a choice I’m making, and I’m ok with that, but still, would be nice to have an option to find out how the next one goes.

That said, my Norn hands are entirely too large and clumsy to work a tiny little Asuran pocketknife.
The Asuran Army Knife — now in new Norn Size!

It doesn’t matter how old you are, you play because you like the game not because it gives memories of lazy days in childhood.
Well said.

I finally made it into the Cursed Shore area yesterday on my newly-80 (for about 3 weeks) guardian and discovered the Penitent/Shelter events. That was fun!
Tonight I look forward to trying this crowded box in Rata Sum. I’m thinking that the Risen will still be in Orr when I get back there which I suppose is a good thing in the long run. One doesn’t necessarily want to live in a war zone all the time and this looks like a good source of lighter fun.
It’s possible to do both. Yay for choices!
(And if anyone wants to know, I’m 50. :P )

Well done on the video! And thank you for showing off the tonic effects. Now all you need is Everlasting Catnip Tonic.

You’d rather s/he order a zombie?

My Guardian is creeping up on the big 8-0 and I’ve been looking at gearing options. I’ve narrowed down which set of crafted gear I want, but I’m not sure I’ll have enough gold for Superior runes at the same time. If I add 3 sets of Minor runes to the exotic armor as a temporary measure while I’m getting the gold together for a set of Superior runes, will I be able to upgrade the runes later or will I need to acquire new armor with empty slots to add the Superior runes?
tl:dr – Can you change runes in armor or do you need new armor for new runes?

It was a veteran wolf up there if memory serves.
I tried getting up there to look in but of course couldn’t. On the other side of the hill in Diessa Plateau it seems like the dredge quarry is in that direction. Maybe they’ve finished tunneling through the hill and are ready to invade Wayfarer Hills to get away from the mines and forced labor for the Charr?

Just did Urmaug’s Secret for my first-ever jumping puzzle, so thanks! I tried it first with my Norn Guardian, but had to come back with my Asura Warrior — much easier! The jumping was fine, it was just the camera issues that bothered me but it’s all good and now that I know how to do it I’m sure it’ll be faster next time.

I have 9 so far. My highest is a level 68 Guardian. I’m having fun exploring with her and taking my time poking into progressively higher areas. I’ll level the others up as I feel like it. The advantage of having alts is that when I get bored with one profession I can switch it up.
Now if I could just figure out why I have 2 necromancers…

I have found that the highest coin rewards come from hearts in a zone at my level. I haven’t paid too much attention to the XP rewards since I’m not in a leveling rush.
Selling items on the Trading Post (TP) rather than to vendors also nets me a bit more cash. Usually crafting resources sell for only a copper or two more than vendors pay, but it adds up. As long as the net amount will be more than the TP selling fee and the vendor price, it’s worth it to me.

Congrats on leveling! I’m just about to get my first character to 50. I’ve been enjoying going back and forth between Lornar’s Pass, Fields of Ruin, Gendarran Fields and now Blazeridge Steppes depending on what I felt like doing. I’m not above touring a lower level area too if I haven’t been there yet. Part of the fun for me is wandering around to see new things.
You might like http://gw2cartographers.com/ as a resource, I use it for hints on vistas etc. I’m not aware of other map sites but I do like this one.

I have some heavy armor that I am not able to list on the TP even though it isn’t soulbound. It’s blue (fine) and has runes imbedded, but that shouldn’t keep me from being able to sell it should it?
The gear is in my starter backpack, not an invisible one, but still not listed in the “sell on trading post” tab. I don’t see the “sell on trading post” option when I right click the gear itself either.
Suggestions?

Don’t get 100% World Completion if you are a Mesmer.
Ok, I’ll bite. Why shouldn’t you?
because the star next to your name is not applied to clones, so in pvp/wvw you know straight away which the mes is
Interesting. Good to know if I ever take a mesmer into pvp. Thanks.

Darkhaven seems pretty populated. As a casual player who just got sucked into the game during the free trial weekend in November I’ve been running around the under-30 areas in the evenings and on weekends for the past month and usually see people or groups of people doing events and exploring. Everyone I’ve interacted with seems nice and willing to help out the occasional newbie.

Somewhere in Rata Sum…
“What should we do in the case of a golem uprising?”
“Impossible, the sedition inhibitor prevents any kind of insurgent behaviour.”
“And if someone found a way to suppress the inhibitor?”
“Well, we DIE or bow down to our new golem overlords.”
I just have to say, that dialogue is possibly my favorite in Rata Sum. Never fails to bring a smile to my face when I duck in to hit the bank and the TP.
