This is going to sound a little weird, but….
I had my Char guardian in EoTM tonight, equipped with exotic armor under the Hexed outfit, ascended trinkets and new ascended weapons. I noticed tonight for the first time that there seemed to be a blue fog around him. Not the effect around the skill bar, and not an active skill, but a fog around the character.
You can see it in the picture below. It’s not very pronounced, but I’ve never seen that before, even with my graphics all the way up.
Any idea what that could be?

My ranger runs around in the open world with a brown bear pet, a brown bear mini and a longbow just because. I like and use other pets and weapon sets but in cities especially I make sure she has these out.
I couldn’t stand my sylvari ele until I gave her a makeover from female to male. I can’t seem to stand playing a female sylvari at all.
I want to like playing a necromancer, I really do. I have three. I just can’t seem to find the combination that works for me.
I enjoy playing my asura ele much more than I ever though I would. I’m really glad I ended up giving her one more try before deleting her.
I have 5 guardians, one of each race, each with a different build. If I had to pick just one to keep, it would probably the one I leveled in the first place.

I still hate spiders, but nice touch.

I managed to get the pillowcase today out of a stack, along with a candy wrapper, various consumables and a whole lot of candy corn. I got Zuzu out of a ToT bag that came as a result of pumpkin carving on Thursday. Finished the collection today so I have that mini as well. Now I just need one more. Here, wolfie, wolfie, wolfie……

Oh, this has happened to me twice now. I’ve spawned in the mini-game as an inquisitor but not in ghostly form which I found really confusing. I’m able to use my regular skills and everything. So far I’ve played it twice this year, and the achievement seems to recognize both times (says 2/8 games played).
I hope this gets fixed pronto. I’d actually like to play. Maybe I should try it on a different character perhaps?
Edit: Just tried on my necro. Same thing, spawned as an Inquisitor but not a ghost. Phooey.

I remember reading it somewhere at the time the account bound versions came out but it probably wasn’t in game. Probably here in the forums in fact.
Main? What “main”? I play all of them sooner or later.
You should be able to take them to an NPC (I think the BLTC Weapon Specialist?) to trade them for their account bound versions. I don’t think the tab will appear unless you have them in your inventory rather than equipped, though.

Is your character standing in Cursed Shore perhaps, maybe at night? I noticed yesterday that my guardian’s armor looked dull there for a bit, even with Celestial dye which it looks like your preview used.
Main? What “main”? I play all of them sooner or later.
I generally prefer a staff for my ele, mostly because it’s the weapon I’m most familiar with. I’m slowly trying to fix that but haven’t really made it yet. I find scepter more useful for my guardian but I think I prefer the ascended staff skin.
Bah. I guess it’ll sit in my bank until I make up my mind or just finally go, “kitten it” and pick something.
Main? What “main”? I play all of them sooner or later.
When the minis were added to the wardrobe I very carefully only took one Queen Jennah out of the bank to add to the wardrobe. The rest are still there, a tiny stack of identical survivors left in the Mini section of the bank awaiting developments.
I have no idea what will happen when the next newly-created character reaches their first birthday, but I suspect I’ll end up destroying the inevitable mini unless another option surfaces before then.

Thanks for the verification. I’ll admit Celestial isn’t my first choice for weapon stats either, but it dropped for me so why not?
Main? What “main”? I play all of them sooner or later.
I just got a WupWup weapon chest drop. I use Celestial armor and trinkets on my elementalist sometimes but I haven’t been using Celestial on most of the other professions. I’m thinking of choosing staff for my elementalist, but would that be useful for my guardian as well? I mostly play elementalist, guardian, ranger or engineer and there’s no shared weapon across all 4. I mostly play open world pve, with occasional ventures into EotM.
Since this is my first ascended weapon, I want to be able to use it on as many characters as possible. If you had to pick a Celestial weapon, which one would you pick?

I just checked the wiki and found the following:
“Many miniatures are acquired through opening Minis 3-Pack (Set 1)s, Minis 3-Pack (Set 2)s, and Minis 3-Pack (Set 3)s, which contain three randomly selected miniatures of which two are common and one is uncommon. These miniatures can also be used in the Mystic Forge by combining any four miniatures of the same rarity to create a random miniature of the same or higher rarity from any set, regardless of the set they came from. Some exceptions exist.” (bolding mine)
For reference, this is the wiki entry on minis at http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Miniature.

As long as you have a character on your account representing your personal guild, you should be fine. To be safe, I’d have the character you want to keep representing the guild start doing that before you have the one who created it represent a different guild.

If you have a private bank guild and you’re representing that guild, you might try “/g” for guild chat.

I too have several asuran characters. In fact, I am leveling up an asuran ele right now because I just can’t get into the profession with another race for some reason. The asura character makes playing an ele somewhat more manageable for me. Odd I know, but there it is.
I have both asuran guardian and asuran engineer at 80, and I love both. T2 heavy armor works very well on my guardian, with the Peacemaker weapons. My engineer is a tiny grenade throwing, bomb-detonating dynamo, leaping around and leaving chaos in her wake. Engineer gameplay is very active for me, and the asuran animations are very nice with that.
I don’t find a problem with armors and weapon size for asura but I’m not much interested in a legendary weapon. Engineers will mostly have kits out anyway (and thus not have weapons visible). It’s worth noting that all asura use the male template for armors, so if you like a female version of an armor you might be out of luck there.
My best advice would be to roll an asuran character and see how you like it. You never know till you try!

Sorry, I tried to delete this since it’s a duplicate topic but didn’t quite make it. My bad. The same topic is being discussed here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/crafting/Collectible-slot-for-Blade-Shards/first#post3732106

Admit it, you forgot to loot Scarlet's chest
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: Chaialyna.1023
When I did this I wasn’t even aware there was a chest. I was so focused on getting into the instance (and let’s be honest, stunned that we got that far — in an overflow yet!) that I didn’t even know it existed.
Ah well, not like I’m going back into that fight again just to try to get a chest.

One thing I didn’t see (forgive me if I missed it): you say you’re going to gw2lfg.com, but you haven’t mentioned trying the in-game lfg feature. They added that awhile back and I understand it works pretty well for dungeon content. Open your Friend’s tab and it’s the second tab down on the window. There’s options for dungeons, open world, fractals, etc.

I haven’t seen this clarified but might have missed it. Does the chance for sprockets replace the chance for bonus jewel stones that exists with the molten pick or is it in addition to it?
It has been tested and speculated (though not confirmed) that the sprocket takes the place of the chance of getting a second ore deposit, so there is now no chance of getting two pieces of ore from one strike.
This was copied and pasted from another post in the Black Lion Trading Forum:
Now that the pick has been out a little while more data is out on the mining pick. What the pick does is replace the extra ore you may have received from a swing with a sprocket.
So you may get:
-1x ore
-1x ore + 1x crafting material (gemstone)
-1x ore + 1x Sprocket
You can no longer get the 2x ore.
*mind you this is a small sample size
Thank you for the clarification. I appreciate it. More ore vs. sprockets, that is the question.

Most people find it easier to jump with smaller characters, but Norns are not impossible. The jumping distance is the same, it’s just camera issues that make it easier to see where you’re going with smaller characters.
As far as the vista in Rata Sum goes, try “climbing” by jumping along the vines.
Good luck!

On second thought, I don’t want to know. Yeesh.

If my Necro is built as melee, is he a caster?
Yes, he casts spells. You know, that big skeletal magic bite he does with his dagger auto, or his dagger #2 is a spell. Guardians are caster/melee hybrids. Your necro also puts down magical wells and when he enters death shroud he casts.
A bit off-topic, but thank you. I think you just clarified for me why I’ve been enjoying playing my Sylvari guardian in Kessex Hills this last week. He runs with Staff/Scepter-Torch and Meditations, and he’s been kiting and dodge-rolling like crazy to dispel poison during the Toxic events. Playing him as a caster is a very different experience from my GS/Mace-Shield melee guardian with her shouts.

Right before this update it was possible to complete the heart by killing neutral Hard-shell Crabs (and admittedly the occasional Krait) on the opposite side of the tower from the quaggan village. I believe they’re still there, accessible from the beach below the hill where Marjory and Kasmeer are camped.

@McFly: You raise a fair point. I was looking at it from the point of view of having the skins unlocked, not the stats. Would you have the same objection of it was just for looks?

It would be ridiculous imho to make a collection slot for back items. If you do that, you might as well make one for every piece of armor and town clothing in the game. While we’re at it, lets remove the need for inventory bags altogether by making every droppable item in the game go straight to a collection slot. nothx
That sounds like the “wardrobe” function that people have been asking for, unless I’m mistaken. Why do you think that wouldn’t be a good idea? (I for one would love it.)
On topic: I have to say I’m not seeing a use for more wings, but if other people like them and I’m not required to get them, meh.

A sylvari in a tree.
Portaling in from Kessex Hills to Claypool in Queensdale, he never expected to find himself that high up.

If there is an item in the bank with the red line of text, “Soulbound to another character” could you please change it to state the name of the character? You’d have to have it anyway to compare to the character accessing the bank and it would help those of us with many characters and little memory.
Thanks!

Sungak, thank you very much for that confirmation. I guess I’ll have to consider whether I really want to transfer that badly then.

So, to clarify: If one guests to another server, items from a personal guild bank on the original server can be retrieved. If one transfers to another server, items from a personal guild bank on the original server cannot be retrieved. Is that correct?

I can take or leave underwater combat but I do find the 3D aspect makes it interesting. Sometimes my ranger’s jellyfish finds enemies that were above or below me that I hadn’t noticed yet. On the other hand I just recently realized that the dodge mechanic works underwater, so what do I know?

If a friend/guildie has one and lets you into their home instance you can mine their node. Also, when the Bazaar comes back you can mine those nodes.
If you mine your friend’s node, are they able to mine it too or does that count as the node’s “one use per day”?

Next newb question: Splitting stacks of stuff – I’ve seen Ctrl+click and Alt+Click (and then drag) both mentioned as the way to do this, but neither work for me. Ctrl+Click+Drag just ends up linking the item in chat and Alt+Click+ Drag just moves the stack. I’m trying to split gathering tools btw, if that makes a difference.
Alt+Click+Drag is the way to split a stack. Gathering tools can’t be split, however, because they are tools with a finite number of uses rather than a stack of single-use tools. So for example a scythe that says 50 is one scythe that can be used 50 times, not a stack of 50 single-use scythes. Confusing, perhaps, but there you have it.
