I still say they need to evaluate WHY people skip certain parts or only take certain classes. Or give more incentive to not skipping.
As far as being new to a dungeon, I end up taking new people on runs, I really don’t mind classes or whatever else. My gripe is people who won’t say anything. It takes me like a minute or two to explain how a fight goes or how something works but instead most people will just keep quiet and hope it works out. The way dungeons are currently creates a certain elitist problem, as demonstrated by the 4 warrior one mes runs of CoF. Dungeons need work overall honestly.
haven’t done all the dungeons or paths yet so I can’t be sure but I think its a mix of it being possible to run past and de-agro them and not feeling like its not worth the effort. thats why i feel like that end reward should only be given if people complete the path not half kitten it.
i’v never understood why people hate new guys so much, all these elistists were getting their kitten handed to them left and right when they started to, only difference, the started sooner. whos to say 2 months from now his not at the same skill level or even better?
I knew a few in WoW that I helped teach them the basics when they joined and quickly grew to being high end players. and i’v never let them live it down ;p
who here can honestly say they haven’t enjoyed it once or twice when your working with someones first attempt at a dungeon run or class and love being the “big brother or sister” that they look up to for answers.
I think legendaries are fine as they are, tho that idea you had about a dagger switching with attunements is interesting, I could see anet releasing a series of weapons ment for a certain classes, I could see them making a staff or something along those lines
I think what has to happen is you only get the 60 tokens at the end if you finish off ALL the mobs (not talking about ones they got set to side or off the beaten path) make people EARN those points.
Its always annoying when groups suddenly rush ahead and skip something, especially when they don’t tell you or your new and suddenly you find yourself alone with a mob, dead and left behind because they didn’t bother to pay attention. seen it happen several times in CoF path 1 and with the new waypoint system you could be waiting a while for a long enough break in the speed run to rez.
Can’t remember the last nice I took the time to admire the detailed works anet put in for us because its all a running blurr to reach the end. its not like your wasting any real time, 5-6 mins extra?
idea has its points, but if you think about it alot of people be kitten in PvP if burning was the only condition that was removeable without any kinda ability
Plus side thought the idea that it only removes so many stacks is nice, forces you to decide, waste the energy for the burn or wait for the bigger attacks
in my mind it would make sense, water puts out fire… if nothing else speeds up the duration or makes the damage halfed?
only issue would be making it unfair for players because burning would be the only condition that could be removed without an ability.

would be interesting. I can think of a number of times I’m been on my warrior for dungeon runs and find myself at a boss fight I rather be a GS glass cannon or times when there are to many classes putting out bleed effects making my bleed build weaker because of the limited amount I’m able to stack on top of the others.
1. I’m sure its long been suggested but weapon dyes would be amazing. They could make it completely seperate from armor dyes with a harder chance to find, kinda like a rare or exotic unidentified dye version. because I for one would love taking normal swords and giving them a metallic blue or red blade.
2. who else would love to have seige weapons that could be moved? i’m not talking about vehicals or anything, I mean like being able to pick up a battering ram with several other players and working together to aim and charge the door. It would add a new level of team work if it took 2 or more players working together to get results when attacking a door or wall.
Just imagine being able to push a ballista or catapult forward, turn it when you need to change direction and slowly move it into position as you advance into a keep or castle.
3. another idea I had for WvW is having seige towers. build it by a wall and it would create a ram for players to climb over walls rather then through doors.
I’m curious about something, I’d tried guesting several times now to attempt to get more orichcum ore but couldn’t find any nodes when I switched over, even when I use the Orrmap site to find the nodes for that server. this something anet set up to prevent farmers from taking advantage or am I missing a key fact.
I was after bolt for a while but over a few months of building up I realized something. with my game time i’d be waiting 2 years to be even close. so I turned to more realistic skins, like jormag’s breath. Just as fancy if not more and it will go nicely with my ghastly grinning shield I bought for 20g during halloween (best investment I’v made yet)
its easy enough to do. the only challeng is getting the kill credit
so now that the cove is less appealing I have a simple question. was this the only rich node or as anyone found others I just don’t know about. because it would be really stupied to kill the only rich node. I’d accept it if they had several random ones out there or at least a few more regular orichalcum nodes
race wise,took me….5 mins.
Humans= to plain
Charr= any race I can’t figure out a gender with a quick glace is just…weird (and yes I do know the difference…now)
Asura= similar to char
Norn= exotic humans- love the tattoos
sylvari= unique race. and we GLOW!
as for classes. feel around, I when throught all of them on a 2-3 trial period till I found the 1 that clicked.
the 80-20 idea is pretty much how I have it right now. its just always bugged me that I never notice any difference no matter how much more I add while at least condition damage I can see the increase.
I imagine anet has it so its similar in effects to each other in some fashion but I;v always been curious to the exact difference. I just lack the strong math sense to figure it out XD
know the feeling, I’v always had to limit my farming to 15-30 min in 1 spot because I don’t wanna be confused with a bot.
depends, what side you want stronger
melee with decent range = warrior
range with decent melee= ranger
I know the type your talking about, feels like I blink and suddenly they appears out of thin air, hits the node and is gone before hes finished the swinging motion. some times I even notice them appear already in mid swing
I’v seen farmers for the rich ori in southsun cove, they linger for a few moments when they appear before mining and a few moments before logging out. these bots make you second guess if you even saw something… like a ghost in the corner of your eye.
had the exact same question.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/crafting/Legendary-crafting-tips/first#post1186778 got some good tips.
I’m looking for some insight on the difference between stacking power vs stacking condition damage for stats. I know both are good but as a duel sword warrior with a bleed build i’m curious if I should be more focused on power or condition.
i’v always wondered if say every 25 points of power adds ____ addition damage for every swing is better then say 25 points of condition damage adding ____ for every tick x10-15.
think its a mix of different reasons. With no real end game players are spread out throughout all the zones rather then concentrated in 1 or 2 areas like in other MMO’s. Then you got the overflow. dungeons. and the biggest reason is WvW, you will find tons of players usual running around in the 4 zones
I’m beginning the long, long, long process of crafting Bolt http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bolt
and was hoping for some tips from people who have completed their legendaries or are still in the middle of the process about good farming spots for different materials, costs and anything else that might be helpful for me and others looking to do it.
seen a few. your best bet is to go to www.gw2lfg.com and make a request there. its way more effective then just screaming “LFG for lvl 1 fractals” you can team up anyone in other servers and this has been the more or less official site for finding groups.
I’v had an issue with some dungeon boss fights and can’t figure out if its just something I’m doing and need to improve on or if its annoying others as well.
every get those annoying bosses where some much is happening between him/her and the players you almost completely loose sight of them in the hail of attacks and suddenly find yourself face down in the dirt because you didn’t dodge the bosses big attack when you should have seen it coming a mile away all because you missed the signs.
give them a reason to kill things along the way then there will less reason to skip.
As for adding some randomness to the dungeon, i guess a simple workaround would be something along the lines of the troll event in AC. It’s random, there is more than 1 spawn location, using that as an example so when the party enters a dungeon it goes through all the possible mob spawns and randomises mob type and location somewhat. dunno if it’s as simple as that to code w/o rebuilding the way dungeons work from scratch but its what i was thinking after reading this post which by the way was well written and i hope some changes are something like what i read above.
doesn’t even have to be a rebuild. make a new dungeon that had a randomly floor plan, traps and mobs. Make it so the goal is the center with a few other rooms scattered around with random bosses, and at the center a random end boss from any of the other dungeons. Depending on what bosses you find will determine what tokens you walk away with each time.

if you end up liking the shout build you should try the 6 soldier runes. it will give you some toughness and its nice to have the condition removing with every shout for you and anyone in range.
so who else out grew iron level zones before they had even 1/3 of what was needed? its scary how much iron is needed for a single craft profession.
hmmm suddenly I have a idea on how to profit on skritt…
“pssst, hey bud. I got a deal of a life time for you, i’ll give you this new SHINY solid gold bar if you bring me a handful of those silly old dirty gold coins”
think of it this way. you can buy the over priced product OR buy the materials needed and simple build it, no farming required because in my view NO ONE is gonna sell their legendary for the value of the materials used they want to profit from that painful experience. and if they think like me, they would simple use that profit to build a new 1 and still have money left over to smile about as they wait to repeat the process over and over again.
both have their place in my heart.
longbow= AOE
Rifle= Single target
hard to say. alot would depend on your skill vs theirs. the terrian, and who gets the drop on who. I myself have had the snot kicked out of me by theives and ele’s a number of times. I’v also walked all over my fair share. anything can happen in 1 on 1’s
1 suggestion I can give you is learning the art of the melee dance. You’d be surprised at how much damage a melee can take just because they are accidently standing on the edge of attacks hitbox when they don’t have to be. try to stay at their back and DO NOT be afraid to back away if needed I myself try to carry a rifle on me at all time for my swap. this way even if your backing out of the fight your still providing a steady steam of damage till you recover enough to jump back in for the big hits.
the golden rule is a “a dead warrior hit nothing” in my limited experience I found I died far less if I know my chars hit limits and save myself and everyone the grief of stopping their dps just to drag me out of the mud because I wanted to get in that 1 last hit when the 2-3 that stop to help could of done 10X the amount of damage in that short time.
More defence will improve your ability to take a hit but in the end you will still have the same issue, taxing yourself too hard and find yourself kissing the earth when you didn’t have too.
I found the warrior to be a power house till around 50-60 then you feel some pressure when fending off 6+ instead of the usual 1 swing sending the whole pack flying.
have to agree with you man, we need alot more random attacks.
1 idea that I would like to add is a random floor plan. Make it more maze like so its forces people to think a bit and possible extend or shorten their run depending on how their luck holds out. mix in a few notable patrol mobs to dodge or fight and some hidden ambushes mobs to keep us on our toes along with random traps like trap doors, spiked ceiling, darts, hell even a indiana jones boulder run with switches and you’ll have your self a dungeon that will be hard to get bored in.
nope as far as I know. you do it once and never return. I mean why would you do a path that gives no daily token reward when the explorable do. thats the only reason we’re forced to do story, because we won’t do it willing on our own.
I think Anet is focused a little too focused on making us do story mode and doesn’t realize its not THAT important. over several years we will do it I promise Anet so just hurry up and give us the ability to leave and not ruin everyone elses day. because I know there are alot of people who like me, don’t have hour and hours to blow every day making 2-3 attempts before finishing.
best way i’ve understood it (may be wrong). 1 sigil gives you a 30% chance, it fails so now the 2nd sigil is up to bat and takes a crack at getting a proc and if any 1 of them does they both go on cooldown. so basically you get an extra chance to get a proc.
i agree and disagree. it would be nice if I didn’t feel like I had to sell my soul for a legendary, but at the same time my understanding of these weapons are they will always stay at top of the stats even as they add new stuff later which if this is correct would make the effort worth it to a point.
I forsee alot more legendarys appearing over the years as more casual games slowly build up the materials at their own pace.
sounds like it was a case of you getting the small chance of receiving an upgraded material
so you want the holy trinity back. here an idea go enjoy 1 of the main normal mmo’s of this age and leave those of us that wish to explore a new way at peace.
from my point of view the holy trinity still exists to a small degree. yes, there is no cut and paste class for tanking, healing and dps (unless you count glass cannons) but its not impossible to make a tank like build or a build that is got healing in mind in this game. what it sounds like you want is to be allowed to focus on a small task rather then having to fend for yourself or work much closer as a group. because nothing says action pack like click target press 1,2,3,4 click new target press 1,2,3.4
Ok here how it goes, the puzzle is done in timed stages reach the goal before time runs out and collect your chest, and then move up a skill level and start a harder 1 with a better reward till we reach the end of the puzzle. this way the people who can’t handle the harder jumps get a reward of some kind and those who want a challenge will still get 1.
odd I’ve gotten the karma gulp the first day and haven’t seen anymore since, so I’m guessing random chance
hehe had the same thing happen to me when I was farming those 1 day, logged out for the night and came back to find myself trapped inside. ended up making a game of it with some people outside the box.
I’m looking for any kind of advise for warriors in dungeons. I’v done a small handful of runs with guildies and feel like I’v pulled my own weight most of the time but won’t denie that i’v been downed more often then I should in certain situations.
I currently run a bleed/shout build with 6/6 soldier rune aiming my stats more towards vit/toughness. I use 2 swords, and a rifle as my main swap set up with the option to switch to mace and shield if requiring more CC
http://www.gw2builds.org/create/bwe_1/warrior#6.2.5.3-2.9.11.10.1-0.25.15.30.0-2.1.6.5.9.12
the first time I was in Tixx’s airship and took a swing at an enemy and leveled a forest and a building. pure joy, falled by an evil laugh and twisted smile as I leveled the next few towns.
i’m never had to much issue with them, been downed once or twice but always got back up. if anything I find there just right. not impossible but not weak enough I wonder why they are even there.
I was wondering what other warriors are hitting for agaisted regular enemies and what kinda stats they focused on and weapon type so I can have a rough idea how my bleed build is coming out.
buffed? as far as I could tell all warriors got was Dual Shot+10% everything else is fixing a icon appearence, the animation or added the effect that almost every other range ability in other classes was getting
I’m looking for some help in how I should work on my warrior now that I have reached level 80

I’m currently aiming for a build that will give me good dps and let me be able to take hits. I’m running a duel sword for my first swap and a mace/shield for my 2nd with a rifle/bow as my range choose depending on need.
if anyone has any advise on what kinda stats I need to aim for and how much of it (exp-crit) let me know or what kinda changes I need to do to reach my goal.
I’m also looking for views of Bleed builds vs power/crit builds
