The passive got reduced by 8%
did they change their minds about increasing the active buff? I keep hearing about the 8% passive reduction but I recall talk about making the active heal stronger to give incentive to use it more rather then only its passive heals.
Cores only add a colored glow (red, blue, or green) after the ascended piece is crafted (straight ascended has a yellow/orange glow). There are thousands of cores on the TP for very cheap, so that is the easiest, and currently only way to get them now that the event is over.
thats why I’m curious if it will be a 1 time thing or will people only be able to do this as long as the supplie lasts. I got a feeling the vendor will answer the question once its revealed.
honestly its fine at 30% its not really ment to flood your opponet with burn conditions. plus with it being unrestricted to only fire it can be used in all attunements with is a big plus. Its about the same as any rune proc.
Put this together for the idea of using the fire trait for PvE uses.
The only thing I’m not to sure on if I should go with those dolyak runes to add a bit of defence. or if I should get more offensive runes.
Also I’m not sure if I should be going 30 into arcane or put that in water to give me more condition removal and stronger vit.
I’m seriously considering going 30,0,30,0,10.
Between the blinds and crit immunity i’m hoping to be fairly hardy.
I might agree if I actually spent any real time in earth. Thats its only major downside is being to be attuned to earth to get the no crit bonus.

They put it into the patch notes. so people dont disgard their blade shards. Previously, people complained because info like this was not in the patch notes.
I understand that but there needs to be a line in the sand where this becomes silly. Its No ones fault but the player if he can’t be bothered to check the fourms, and other hot spots. I’ll bet you anything we’ll still get a flood of complaints from people who couldn’t even be bothered to read the update notes and then anet will be forced to create an even more silly way of telling us.
Now its seems we can’t trust the information if the patch notes because it “may” happen in the update or in the future. Those notes are for current and immediate changes. Not an announcement board for rumors and future events.
this makes fire aura so much more usefull with a signet build and fire auras being given when you activate a signet this would give near perma blind, burn and might.
You can’t have even “near perma” Blind when it has a 5second cool down. Unless your target is attacking you every 4-5seconds.
you also gotta factor in things like us fleeing and dodging. This blinding could really put a damper on combos. stun attempts and so on which can mess up other players attack plans. and then a course if they know we can do it that will only cause them to hesitate even if only slightly giving us openings.
Now PvE this will be a god sent for avoiding attacks. Scepter already has a trick like this with its air but on 10 second cooldowns. (think thats the one)

Can we not use this term in blog posts? I think it gives the wrong impression, especially in regards to WvW, and PvP, like you’re supposed to hunt down your fellow players, and kill them for the loot. I think it’s distasteful. The players are human beings, not anonymous, walking bags of loot. Sure, you have to kill people in WvW, and in PvP, but we shouldn’t call it “hunting.”

This actually terrifies me… Since it sounds like you can’t tell the difference between a game and reality becouse;
- The characters you “defeat” is just pxels and coding, not real people (The player is safe behind a PC).
- All player are and should be Anonymous. In WvW you can’t see your enemies names but there is also this, like my account name EdgarMTanaka.7291 is not my real name and my characters isn’t named after me iether.
- Players are not bags of loot but by defeating a player character they have a chance of dropping a bag of loot.
I call bull on this. If players were walking bags of loot then how come no matter how I kill someone in WvW I have yet to be able to loot that fancy helm or those neat shoulder pads!
Anyone been able to loot these off aether chests or the pirates? I understand the blades can still be found but I’m curious those cores might drop off the mobs, and even in bags like other cores now.
Or will we be completely at the mercy of the TP supplie hoarders in the years to come.

Anet really knows how to kitten me off. why announce in the patch notes that a vendor will be appearing and then not have that vendor! This kind of information is best left for facebook and twitter. if its in your patch notes. it kitten well better be in the update.
I’ve always felt that for a game that is so focused on RL gem sales that the gem store itself was incredibly underwhelming. The sheer lack of product gives one the impression of walking into a store in the mall that only has 10 or 12 product for sale on a whole bunch of empty shelves.

Why it is they are so obsessed with selling items one time for a short period of time is beyond me. It leaves new players feeling left out, and only makes current players that happened to be short on money that month mad. For what? The chance that someone will splurge and pay an extra $20 so they can get a special axe for more than one character?
My theory goes like follow: if they have the items permanently players will be able to farm gold and exchange it for gems. If they have the items temporarily, players who are not able to farm sufficient gold will have to buy gems.
Of course this is probably not a good strategy. However since ANet has been doing this ‘march sales’ thing it’s possible that they’re seeing what impact discounts have on sales, does it increase real money sales or simply gold->gem trade in. I’m guessing that if these sales shows a increase in real money sales, then ANet might decide to stop with temporary items (thus slowly increasing the amount of available items or time) and rather use discounts instead.
I think thats what this march sale is really about. You announce your having 1 day sales on 1 item day for a month and people who missed something or want to get more before it disappears again will suddenly rush for gems. meaning a increase in real money. thats the reason for limited time items. they can resell things later without any work and get a new flood of cash if it was popular.
What would you prefer? Less qq and more pew pew?

You guys are gonna have to get over it. Anet is not likely to do anything with this stat change. Berserker is the top pure dps stats. and it will still be after the change. This is like asking to change your characters class because of a buff/nerf to them.
IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.
Its also worth noting we don’t own anything in the game. we payed for the right to play it and use things but all those items, the characters, those gems you pay real money for. every last pixel and data is THEIR property. we simple have permission to use it. They could shut down the game right now erase everything and start fresh if they wanted. gems, gold all of it and we couldn’t do a thing.

This trait would have alot of synergy even if you didn’t try. Burning condition is probably one of our biggest and more frequent conditions in fire so the up time alone is amazing As you guys have pointed out we got several methods to get those procs even in other attunements to make it hold up very well. This would certainly create a few more builds going 30 into fire for sure.
So new traits are :
Fire: Blinding Ashes: Blind foes for 5 seconds when you burn them – cooldown 5s
Air: Lightning Rod – interrupting an enemy causes them to be stuck by a damaging lightning bolt that leaves them weakened (5s)
Earth: Stone heart – You cannot be critically hit while attuned to earth
Water: Aquatic Benevolence- your healing to other allies (not self) is increased by 25%
Arcane – Elemental Contingency- Gain a boon when you are stuck, based on your current attunement, coodown; 10 seconds. Fire: 3.5s of retaliation; air: 5 seconds of fury; Earth: 2.5s of protection; Water: 3 seconds of vigor
Fire= I could see myself using. provided I can figure out a decent build with 30 fire.
Air= seems pretty lacking for a grandmaster if you ask me.
Earth= I could see this having some use for survival but considering how weak dps is in earth its not something i’d go for.
Water= nice idea but honestly between it wanting me to play healing bot for others and it only affecting other players and not myself its not all that impressive.
Arcane= we have to do WHAT! …any brave squishy lowest defence/ HP class elementalists wanna step up to get hit on purpose to get a quick single boon?
I’ll pass on this. I’m a little to focused on dodging hits not getting hit.

gem stores seems fine to me. build up some gold, some sweet armor or weapon skins. There is no way to please everyone but they do a decent job of it. If gem store had been purely real money I’d of been a bit annoyed but allowing players to get gems with gold is very nice
Anet is trying to avoid making this P2W while still pulling in profits to fund themselves

not dead over all. It could be your in a low populated server which is easy to fix with a transfer or guesting. Its also notable that unlike other MMO’s the player base is a bit more spread out through zones rather then everyone being clustered around the 80 zones for the endgame content.
Just had a character reach level 20, got into a town and received a message that as a congratulations, I get a free Glory Booster. Well, since they are no longer in game, I didn’t receive anything except the congratulatory letter. I don’t particularly care, but do think that if a free gift is given, there actually ought to be a gift involved.
most likely an over sight on anets part. just throw out a ticket about it and they’ll probably throw an experience booster or some other replacement your way.
They could keep it exactly the same with one big difference. Add some seige weapons, cannons or ballistas along the outer walls or in some other spots. make them both destroyable and repairable. Then players would have the option of kiting his very slow kitten around. run to a weapon and get several very powerful shots off (like 5-10% of his hp) before the giant tears it apart and forces us to flee to another.
Warrior is by far the easiest to learn. Ending at the elementalist as 1 of the hardest to learn for new players but in my view also the funniest.
During that time, i saw screenshots of people hoarding 20+ full stacks of Sigils that are already raising in price, due to the sigil and rune changes.
not sure what this has to do with anything…. yes speculations is part of the economy..
It by far not the only way to make gold in this game.

we all know its not the only method. Its just the only real method that doesn’t cost us real money or 100s of mindless farming hours of our lifes and health for some pixels that we don’t even actually own.

They’re a little offensive to some people, after all – this game is rated “teen”, not “hentai”!
I doubt they would. They have been around for a while now and still nothing. Plus every owner would freak out and demand a refund since the particle effect is what they bought it for. As for teen rating. anything tentacle related doesn’t lead straight to hentai. Only hentai fans would assume that.

Elementalist still have the worst survival and they are a light armor class. My main is a Warrior and i have a Necro, Ele and Ranger alt at 80. My Warrior is superior in PvE content.
The Elementalist need a huge buff in survival. They have to sacrifice too much survival to be able to do damage or they have to sacrifice too much damage to be able to survive. Same with Ranger as well. Elementalist still has one of the best supports though. Necro is close to Warrior imo.
Edit: The Evade on Burning Speed is a good buff to Ele survival.

If they wanted to nerf critical damage then just do rather then create this annoying system.
Because Ferocity down scales better in low level zones. Crit Dmg didn’t.
oh I understand that. Its just the way they state it. Its a far cry from making it easier to understand.
They didn’t. They got FIXED. They even made a Grandmaster trait to fix the slow Longbow projectile speed. At least F2 pet skill is instant now.
Ranger didn’t get buffed in this patch, they got fixed, and nerfed a bit.

I would love if they released a Heal-o-tron item that lasted for 30 mins-1 hour. He be so amazing to have around.
Except for the tiny trifling detail that Scarlet’s Kiss is one of the ugliest things claiming to be a rifle in the game and the Rainbow is a white outline of where a Kiss should be.
Tastes vary, but wow…
Just happens to be one of only a hand full of rifles that are well… rifle sized or bigger.. people have a tendency to drift towards bigger gaudier things because it makes them more noticed… I bet it will sustain a fair value for both but I don’t expect them to go much above 700/500 respectively… at least for a very very long time…
Scarlet’s Kiss might reach 700 in a year or so but I suspect Scarlet’s Rainbow will only get as far as 400 at best in a years time.
They reveal Lion’s Arc destruction was nothing but a dream and scarlet captured everyone using her miasma to knock our whole attack force out and now we’re all enslaved.

If eles get regen from this trait warriors should get protection every 10 seconds from theirs. It’s only fair and warrior is a ‘Heavy’ class afterall!
exactly. you big strong warriors have no need for silly things like invisible protective shields with all that thick heavy armor on to protect you. Only the frail people covered in cloth would resort to such things.

This is from WvW, which doesn’t get affected by the PvP nerf i believe. I tend to get MORE healing from it than the actual skill says.
possible it was being influenced by outside sources, WvW buffs, other players shared passives. hard to tell
I think we might of wandered off topic a bit. This was about comparing the base form of the elementalist and warrior healing sigils. Now its all about who can spec and trait for the maximum effective heal. Excluding all traits, and skills and stats. Warriors healing sigil has a strong advantage over elementalist’s sigil as single skill. I think everyone can agree on this.
If both sides when all out and tried to build up its healing abilitys and effects. Elementalist would take a acceptable lead in over all healing effects but would suffer from extreme subpar offence and be forced to preform complex methods to keep heals going.
warriors on the other hand would suffer very limited restrictions allowing them to focus their builds and play style on over powering offence or defence. any healing trait additional would in fact be given extra buffs to their offence and defence as well as healing benenfits.
The over all view is Elementalist are forced to sacrifice a large part of their skills and build design while preforming intense combo’s to get heals which further cuts their offence even more.
while warriors have nothing to lose and everything to gain. any healing skills they seek out are coupled with powerful offensive/defensive buffs that act out indepentantly of the player.

Problem is to many people in the gaming community think of take those remarks as you trying to insult them or trolling rather then you honestly just suggesting something. Its always a issue when people can’t hear you say it and use your tone of voice as a reference to read between the lines to its meaning and instead jump to the assumption your being sarcastic or rude.
Good lord, THREE pages? I laughed my kitten off at the comments on the first page alone. I did, however, like the comment about a buff for the warband. Our charr PS sort of leaves our own PS warband in the dust- NOT what a charr would do. Bonus buff if all toons in the party are charr and in the same guild. Maybe a ferocity buff, when that arrives. But then, of course, we’d hear all the “not fair!” comments from other races. Krewe buff? I’d be good with that, too.

wait what? marriage? you want your pixels to marry another persons pixels go find a korean or japenese free to play game. If people want to do a rpg and act as a couple thats their business but I would drop this game in an instant if they resorted to creating some kind of marriage system for a few extra bonus stats. Anet has much more important things to do then even consider this as possible.

So i just clone a precursor, which then is account bound, craft the legendary with it and sell the legendary.

Point taken. easy fix tho. anet just has to do something that prevents them from being useable in the mystic forge.
we’re not under powered. we can hit just as well as anyone else…we just can’t take the hit back without falling over like a deck of cards. Its our base defense that is the issue. if everyone started at the same point at level 1 and grew at the same rate with each level, so in our naked forms we were the same at level 80 no matter what class and everything was determined by weapons, traits, armor, and skill to create gaps then everyone would be happy.
Warrior healing signet heals for more than that and is passive
Thats with 0 points in healing.
How much does it heal exactly per second? Is it the 392 listed on the wiki? Let’s compare it to the ele.
At 0 healing power, the ele gets:
Soothing Mist: 80 hp/s
Regeneration: 130 hp/s
Signet of Restoration passive: 202 hp/s
Signet of Restoration active: 131 hp/s
Total: 543 hp/s (412 without Written in Stone)So assuming you get all the basics, and excluding any heals from weapons, the ele gets more healing than the warrior gets from their signet (you could lose one of them, but then there’s still the weapon heals so that balances it).
Soothing Mist: 80 hp/s= Only in effect when in water.
Regeneration: 130 hp/s = Not even related to skill so this is voided
Signet of Restoration passive: 202 hp/s = On attack not per second
Signet of Restoration active: 131 hp/s = equal to warriors.
Your a little mistaken on some facts.
Regeneration
Warriors can trait to have perm regeneration
Elementalist regeneration isn’t related to sigil in any way.
Passive
Warrior is per second. no matter what. doesn’t effect dps in any way.
Elementalist is per cast so unless we are capable of casting none stop our auto we fall behind if we move out of range, dodge, or use any skill with long cast times.
Soothing mist is the only exception to the rule but even then to have the effect we have to go into our weakest dps state to have it.
I do think that the Signet needs some improvements, with them it could be rather good.
You must have about 1,200-1,500 Healing Power. I have 798 Healing Power and i get 282 per a cast.
1) Channels – I think skills like Drakes Breath and Cone of Cold should proc the heal on each tick of the channel. Using this heal and then channeled skills is a rather big Healing loss if you go during a reasonable fight.
or
2) Make it per a second. The fact that we have to keep using skills in order to get the heal is rather annoying and broken when you add in the long channel skills we have, the long cool down skills we have and the fact you can’t heal when stunned and such.
If we went with option 2 i think the Healing Per second would need to be improved as it would actually be a loss if it was changed to that but still kept the current healing. I think something in the region of 350-400Healing Per Second would be okay, considering our low health and low armor that is a decent amount
Agreed. How is it channeled spells are completely ignored. The core idea behind the sigil is to heal us as we cast spells so why are channeled spells punished?
