What’s your view on the changes. Personal I raised an eyebrow when suggestions was pretty much scrapped.

I get the same issues with riding the lightning. Half the time when I use it I come out of it a smooth motion that let’s me continue forward while others others times at the end it forces me to stop and movement commands I use after take a second or 2 to trigger.

Add a trait that improves elementals hp and armour and gives us control. Not talking making them permanent they keep their duration just instead they can last longer in a fight and like ranger pets will be able to send them we’re they are needed and have access to control when their specials trigger

Edit. It was pointed out that adding pet controls might be to much so an idea that could fix that is to Make them like a rangers spirits that follow closely behinds us like a bodyguard that swings at our targets in Melee range and shots something at a ranged distance. Giving us a means to manage their movements and trigger their special by reclicking the glyph

I always thought dragons tooth should be a missile like attack. Start out as usual and just keep pointing at them till it launches towards them. Be a interesting way to add group awareness since other people will be punished for your carelessly leading the attack to them and others for not realizing that the guy is a live bomb.

Oh for crying out loud… The game is probably one of the most difficult MMOs out there.

You should go try The Secret World, then. Makes every game you listed PLUS this one look like it’s meant to be played by four year old down’s syndrome children.

Never tried it myself but the reviews I say would endless going on about the level of depth and realism is so strong you actually have to do research into the legends and pay attention to even know what to do. I can only imagine how hard it is.

Won’t say hated so much as guild wars 2 most over used villain and we’ve lost our taste for her. We just want variety. An inquest plot here. Some random chick/dude here that May or may not be associates of scarlet in secret just don’t make it so obvious it hurts to look at the first time we meet them. (Take molten alliance as a example).

WvW and high level fractals are as close to end game as you’ll get. And considering this game is subscription free I don’t mind it being the way it is difficulty wise since I play this game to have an enjoyable time with friends and guild mates without the rushed feel you get from other MMO’s to keep up with current.

Need to ask? We’re going into the anti social age were its not acceptable to interact with another human in real life because we’ve become terrified of germs and any activity that might in any form hurt us. Surprised schools haven’t banned outdoor recess and all forms of sports.

S/S is pretty decent. It’s not the strongest dps weapon if your only aim is to burn enemies down quickly but it very good for bleed stacking while still hitting a good. I’ve enjoyed it quite a bit. It can be traited to reflect projectiles when blocking and give perm fury with just the auto attack. Good mobility to for kiting.

Agreed how is it we get bathed in almost none stop fire and only come out with 1tick of burn damage. What anet should do is add that effect per successful hit. Lots of other classes that can keep up perm burn without even trying with attacks that don’t even look like it would even burn for a second.

honestly I’m on the fence for this. The boon increase is only really good if the boon already had a decent size duration. alot of our boons last the span of 2-4 seconds without the 30% and all they get is maybe a 1 second increase in time. Seems kinda meek for a trait stat.

Does anyone else feel like ticket scraps we’re put out as a cruel joke? I remember when it was first brought out and took a chance with 50$ worth of gems. I got 1 scrap… Tons of other useless buffs and stuff but only 1 scrap. I was under the impression the scraps were suppose to be like junk items. Regular drops that you had to collect 10 to get 1 ticket. then manage to get between 2-5 tickets for items unless it was in its limited time offer slot of 1 for the story.

Anet if you want people to give you money STOP pushing us away with this kitten crap of yours.

Anet I’d love it if we could had some kind of item we could buy off the gem store that added into a special slot that was for pure cosmetic purposes. Taking a regular sword and giving it some kinda additional cosmetic appearance like a glowing aura, trail when swinging. Chance on hit effects and even on death effects. You could go several ways with this. additions for crafting, Gem store items. Chance loot off dungeons/ bosses.

This game is so heavy on cosmetic appearances that the more ways you create new appearances out of old weapons that already been made the less time you have to worry about rushing the newest weapon sets.

^^^^ as electro said its more likely gonna be a permanent source in that zone. I get the feeling anet didn’t like how the home nodes worked out so their trying a different idea to add materials and still make people work for them rather then just log in and mine the nodes at home.

It helps a bit more me that I pace myself with guildwars 2. I caught on pretty quick once I hit 80 that I would hit a brick wall very quick so I’ve pretty much turned this game into a 2-3 times a week for a few hours at most type. Love this game enough I want to avoid burning myself out to quick.

I’d like to say make stealth a condition remover would make it more viable but considering how spamable it is that would be a bit crazy too. Maybe make only certain stealth skills remove conditions and the others just as they are, a feeder to keep it up till they do get caught then they are forced to wait for the cooldown to another sure fire stealth again against conditions.

be nice if they had implemented a style for the goggles as well. Give people the choose at the beginning when they make a character and get to the favorite tool question with those different armor pieces. Depending on which you select as an answer will determine what changes with kits.
Be great if people pulled out a flamethrower and suddenly they had a TF pyro mask like look

There are ascended quivers.

The ascended ones don’t have arrows in it. That was 1 of Rox’s Quiver biggest selling point.

Short answer to your evil question= Its not a forced grind.

In WoW you HAD to upgrade every few months and even then the time model your talking about was for the elite groups. Guild wars 2 carters more to the regular players and the casual more then the elites.
I actually enjoy the gear here because its less of a “your gear score is a little lower then what we want so your gonna be left out, sorry.” and more of a “welcome to the group friend. I see you spend some extra time to get that sweet weapon/armor skin. very nice”

most of the toys seem pretty tough. with the exception of the griffons. which I thank god doesn’t have some kinda sad puppy dog eye attack or they be the ultimate threat.

Any one know why the Wintersday JP was changed from last year’s format to this year’s PvP format?

While the Halloween JP last year had everyone starting at the same location creating issues with seeing your own character, they pretty much fixed that with the Wintersday JP by having different start points.

Last year’s format did force people to wait at the starting platform, but I don’t recall the wait being so long — plus, it really created a sense of community .. everyone doing the JP together. Now, while you can go whenever you want, everyone is basically playing by themselves.

(btw: search is broken, couldn’t find a thread with similar topic.)

My guess is someone important complained about the JP so they had to “fix” it. only logical thing left because I don’t recall there being a large flood of complaints last year about it that would trigger such a change.

I still think it has it’s community aspect. Its just no longer 10+ trying at once now. My biggest grief is the fact that instead of being chased by the breaking snowflakes I’m now the one chasing after them. Nothing ruins a JP like having to actually wait for the path to finish forming.

Good luck getting any major nerfs on warriors. It’s the 1 class anet has admitted to be where they want it in terms of overall balance. Give it a few years and maybe anet will finally get the others in line.

Kind of surprised it’s not more of a thrust. When I think of it I almost imagine the player taking a step forward like you see fencers do so an increase would make sense if in a forward motion.

I agree the cast time should be looked into. It feels very slow and clumsy compared to the rest of the skills. How ever I have to disagree with the damage increase. I’m sorry if you feel it’s to weak and not very spam able but it IS ment to be more of a situational hit and not something to hit the min it’s off cooldown. Lots of weapons have skills that are aimed for certain times and uses. And when you think about it against something like vets ands champions there are a lot of times to use it.

Engineer is simply an Elementalist with infinite conjure weapon abilities (or attunements with no cooldowns).
So basically both classes are designed to be very versatile, but Engineer feels approximately 10x more smoother and easier to play in every aspect of the game.

Infinite attunement I agree on. Smoother, easier play style I’m not so sure about.

I would of been surprised if ante did any major changes so quick. I’ve learned to expect at least a 1-2 month waiting period for a change. Anet will probably add some of our ideas at a later date once they see how the current version works out. Give them time

For anyone who’s dying to the “wind” during the snowflake portion, that’s not actually wind gusts knocking you off. That animation (with the freezing sound) plays whenever you’ve fallen off the JP and get ported back to the start. I suspect that it’s a case of lag where your client thinks you’re safe, but the server thinks you’ve run off the edge and fallen into the void, and so ports you back.

Not much advice I can really offer for that except to exit and rejoin an instance with hopefully better ping.

No there are definitely 2 gusts of wind once you’re past the first set of present platforms.

The worst part is you can’t dodge it, you simply have to wait, while your life ticks down.

Once you get past the presents its not so much a race as it is a game of timing.

I play an elementalist and I don’t have any zerker gear and there nothing you can do about it! Mwhahaha

I’m personal not a regular in alot of dungeons so it always kitten es me off when suddenly everyone makes a bolt for it without a word and then gets mad at me because I didn’t know and kicks me. I say make all mobs unpassible and if people have an issue with it all I got for you is "go join the champion trains if your only there for the money.

I’d love it if the toys made their own long range weapons in some waves. Force players out into the open to destroy them or risk having the dolyaks attacked through a method that by passes all our defences
